A Moment to Ourselves
Tumblr media
A/N: Since it’s been so cold here in the Midwest, I figured Densi could help heat things up. Warning, things get spicy. There’s lemons all over.
Shoutout to @mashmaiden for making all these nice pics for me to use. She’s the best!
***
Kensi finished brushing out her damp hair, eyeing her reflection in the bedroom mirror as she reached for the bottle of leave-in conditioner. She swore under her breath when she realized she’d somehow grabbed Deeks’ shampoo instead.
Apparently he hadn’t missed it yet since she hadn’t heard yelling from the bathroom. Hitching her towel a little higher, Kensi walked back over to the master bath, and swung the door open, coming face-to-face with a very wet, and mostly naked Deeks.
“Hey,” he said taking a step back.
“Hey.”
There was an unexpected, and sudden tension between them, made all the more visceral in the steamy room.
She saw Deeks’ eyes drifting over her, pausing on the swells of breasts peeking over the top of her towel while she perused his half-naked body. Little droplets of moisture dotted his toned shoulders, trailing down his chest, and over his stomach to disappear in the towel hanging low around his hips. Heat flashed across her skin and pooled low in her belly.
She swallowed heavily, realizing just how long it had been since they’d truly been alone together. They were alway rushing around to get work, to drop Rosa up or pick her up from school. And there always seemed to be someone around. Except for today, since Rosa was hanging with a friend and Roberta had a Pilates class.
Deeks licked his bottom lip, eyes impossibly blue with desire and now focused on her mouth.
She reached for his face at the same time he backed her up against the closed door, kissing her with enough intensity to make her gasp. Her hands fisted in his hair, drawing him even closer as he lifted her and she wrapped her legs around his hips.
Sucking his bottom lip between her teeth, Kensi tugged at towel tied around his waist, desperately needing to touch all of him. She finally got it off and ran her fingers from the top of his shoulders to his hips, urging him against her.
Based on the hard ridge of his erection pressing into her inner thigh, he was just aroused as she was. She purposely rubbed against him, relishing the way his hands reflexively tightened on her back.
Deeks made a soft noise in the back of his throat in response. His hand drifted up to cup her cheek and he smiled against her mouth, lips soft for a second before he resumed the kiss with increased intensity.
Oh, she had missed this.
She arched against him and her own towel finely gave in and dropped to the floor, leaving them both blessedly naked. Deeks broke away with a gasp, sucking in a deep breath.
He rested his forehead against hers while they both breathed unevenly. Brushing her hair back from her cheek, Deeks laughed softly, pressing a kiss to her throat.
“Mm,” Kensi sighed, tilting her head back to give him better access. “Deeks, don’t you dare stop”
“Wouldn’t dream of it,” he murmured, sliding his palm across the length of her thigh.
***
A/N: Hope you enjoyed! Happy second day of Densimber.

A few thoughts about tonight’s trip from DC to Hawaii to LA
That was a lot and I’m probably forgetting stuff.  I’ll rewatch at some point and likely have some other ideas.
I’m glad about 90% of the interoffice rivalry stuff was in the previews.  There was some of the usual banter but it wasn’t 180-minutes of being difficult with people who are sharing a common goal.
Of the three episodes, the Hawai’i episode was stuck being the talky one – it needed to explain what happened in the Mothership hour and set up what was going to happen in Los Angeles.
Nice shoutouts to two missing original cast members.  Gibbs got some nice mentions in the first hour and Hetty helped solve the case in Los Angeles.  Well done.
Thought the Fatima/Rountree stuff was good.  Kensi trying to calm down Fatima while Rountree was missing was the sign of a great co-worker but she should remember how things went for Deeks when she was missing and how she worries about him.  Yes they are married but they’ve been that way since the beginning.  Rountree and Fatima are no different.
Again, it was a lot.  I was surprised that Robert Picardo – “The Professor” – had such a small part.  He was in Star Trek: Voyager, China Beach, The Wonder Years with big roles – lots of shows as a guest star.  Five minutes to open things seemed a small amount.  Really thought he might not be dead when Jimmy covered his face in autopsy but great fake out.
Deeks needs a Hawai’i trip.  Kensi went in the Hawaii-Five 0 guest appearance, Callen and Sam have been there twice for crossover work.  Send Deeks to Hawaii!

Resurrection Pt. 5
A/N: Shoutout to @mashmaiden and @ejzah for helping with ideas!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~
Deeks is just in the middle of telling Gordon what he and Kensi do for a living when the white haired man’s attention turns, catching a glance at the women as they walk towards them.
He share a quick look with his wife asking if his mom knows what going on. Her small nods sends a wave of relief through his body, thankful that his partner was able to get to his mom before she was ambushed. “Hey, mama.”
“Hi, Marty.” She sends her son a sad smile and then looks towards the man she hasn’t seen in over 30 years. “Gordon.”
“Hi, Bertie. How are you?”
“Cut the crap and get to it already.”
“I deserve that.” He gestures for her to take a seat and being the stubborn woman that she is Roberta stays standing with Kensi standing protectively next to her. “I have a lot I need to apologize for.”
“Damn right you do.”
“I was telling Marty and Kensi earlier that I saw when she told him that she was pregnant.” A wistful smile crosses his features for a brief moment as he locks eyes with the woman that was at one point in time his whole world. “It made me think about when you told me that you were pregnant. Do you remember that?”
“Yeah, as soon as I told you you ran out the door.....I thought you were mad, but you weren’t.”
“No. No, I wasn’t.”
Taking a deep breath the red head finally decides to take a seat next to her son. She’s a bit puzzled when Kensi doesn’t sit down next to her but when she feels her come up behind her resting both of her hands on her shoulders, Roberta realizes what her daughter-in-law is doing. She’s giving her an easy exit if need be and being the rock that she needs right now. “You ran to your truck and came back with a Dodger’s onesie because you found my pregnancy test in the bathroom and knew I was nervous to tell you.”
“And then I turned up the radio, wrapped my arms around you and we danced for the rest of the night.”
Her eyes begin to glisten when she sees the joy in the eyes of the man she once loved but it also fills her with anger. If he was so excited about that what in the hell made him turn so evil? “You can’t just bring up good memories to try and erase the bad ones.”
“I know.”
“Do you have any idea what you put us through, Gordon? Forget me but what about Marty? Who the hell is that sorry excuse of a father that makes his son shoot him so that he’ll stop beating him and his mother?”
“I have no excuse other than I was a piece of shit.”
“Damn right you were.”
“Look, I know I don’t deserve it but can you give me another chance. I’ve changed.”
Roberta rolls her eyes, if she were crazy she’d think they were back in time, going through the same old song and dance. “I’ve heard that before.”
“Yeah, but this time I’m actually sober when I say it.”
She does a double take because that’s a new revelation. He talked about it a whole lot but he never actually went through with getting help. “How long?”
“20 months”
“Really?”
“I promise you, Roberta Clementine Deeks.”
Both her kids squeeze her shoulder, they’re both there for her and she knows that whatever she wants they’ll do. Her son’s an adult now and he can make his own decisions, he’s level headed and his wife is the toughest person she knows. “Okay, you have one chance but if you do anything to hurt my kids I’ll kick you in the nuts so bad that your kids will feel it.”
“Heyyyy.” Deeks wines, affronted by his mother’s threat.
Kensi laughs because for the first time today it feels like there maybe a happy out come in all of this.
Sorry, Marty.”
“Understood.”
“And there’s gonna be some rules.”
Gordon shakes his head profusely. “I know, Kensi already put me in my place.”
“That’s my girl.” The red head smiles when Kensi bends down wrapping her arms around her and her son takes hold of her hand. Whatever the outcome of this may be one thing’s for sure, she has these two and her grandson and that’ll never change.
There’s an uncomfortable silence that fills the air that is until....“Should we grab some beers?”
Roberta turns to her son, rolling her eyes.
“Too soon?”
Seeing he didn’t get the reaction he wanted out of his mother, his attention turns towards his wife who’s shaking her head trying to bite back a smile. She nods her head and his attention then turns towards the man who’s sitting across from him. For the first time in his life Marty Deeks sees his father laugh. Old Gordon would’ve knocked him on his ass for a comment like that, but this is different, a good different.
Marty and Artie
A/N: Huge shoutout to @mashmaiden and @glenncoco4 for being the best detectives and keepers of all the knowledge of this fandom.
Fandom: NCIS LA
Characters: Marty Deeks, Kensi Blye, Nell Jones
                               XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
Kensi had lived in LA for a long time, but she couldn’t ever remember being quite this hot. Sweat trickled down the back of her neck even in the air conditioned taco truck, making her grey t-shirt stick to her back.
She could hear Deeks in her ear, chatting it up with whoever would stop long enough to listen. He was in full Artie get-up today, out on a street corner in the blazing sun as they waited for Davis Kelleher to leave his office building and head off to a clandestine meeting with some arms dealers. It had been several hours and at this point Kensi was becoming convinced their suspect had called everything off because of the heat. International terrorism could wait for a day without a high of one hundred and ten.
“Does the air go any cooler?” Nell grumbled, fumbling around with the dashboard.
Sam and Callen were out of town for a training so she’d come along as backup for the day, leaving Beale solo in Ops, which he’d made clear he wasn’t a fan of. But Nell was thrilled to have a little freedom and she  and Kensi had spent the first few hours of their little stakeout enjoying one another’s company, talking about their respective partners, life, and the new Thai place that had opened up last week.
But things had gone a little quiet in the last thirty minutes as the heat continued to skyrocket and air quality warnings popped up all over their screens.
“That’s as cool as it gets,” Kensi said, wiping her forehead.
“Well that sucks.” Nell pushed back a strand of sweaty hair and stuck her face in front of the vent. “Good lord it’s hot.”
“Record high for LA in like a hundred years.” Kensi reached in the glove box for a fake take out menu and began fanning herself.
“I don’t know why I even showered this morning,” Nell said as she frowned at her damp blouse.
Kensi touched her comm. “Deeks how you doing out there?”
He turned toward the hidden camera on the truck and gave her a thumbs up. She felt bad. Artie’s getup wasn’t comfortable and he had to be absolutely dying in this heat. She watched as a homeless man Deeks had talked to earlier, she thought maybe his name was Nick, shuffled over and began talking with her partner.
Kensi checked her watch. “Eric any movement from the offices inside?”
“Negative,” Eric said. “He’s been in there all day.”
“I don’t know.” Kensi looked at Nell. “I think maybe we should call it for today. Try again tomorrow. Nobody’s going out in this heat if they can help it.”
She hated to leave an op unfinished but there was no point in sticking around if the meet had been cancelled. Nell nodded. “I’ll start packing it up.”
“Deeks did you hear that?” Kensi asked. “We’re heading out.”
She saw him nod and heard him continue his conversation with Nick, her heart melting just a little bit as he patiently listened to the other man’s advice, which was all a repeat of an hour earlier. Her husband was such a good man.
“Over on Hollywood, that bakery? They’ll give you free water for your dog,” Nick said.
“That’s good to know man, thanks,” Deeks told him.
“They don’t even mind. They just give it to you.”
“I appreciate it.”
“You ever been over there before?”
“No I haven’t but I’ll definitely…“
Kensi looked up at the screen when she heard Deeks trail off, eyes searching the area for any sign of a problem. “You okay?” Nick asked.
Deeks’ breathing was loud over the comms. “Yeah, I…I think…”
Kensi keyed her comm. “Deeks? You good?”
He put a hand to his head and collapsed to the ground. Kensi scrambled out of her seat. “Nell!”
Nell looked up at the screen. “Oh my god!”
Kensi jumped out of the van and ran across the street, dropping to her knees by her partner. “Deeks! Baby!” She cupped his face in her hands. “Hey, wake up!”
“Kens what do you need?” Nell asked.
“Call 911. And then get anything cold we’ve got in the van. I think it’s heatstroke.” She started pulling off bits of Artie garb in an attempt to cool Deeks off. His skin was extremely hot and dry, and when she reached for his wrist she found his pulse extremely fast.
“Here.”
She looked up to see Nick holding out a bottle of water. “You gotta cool him down.”
“Thank you,” Kensi said gratefully. She cracked the seal and gently poured it onto Deeks’ face and neck as Nell returned with a few more semi-cool bottles. “This is all we’ve got,” she said. “Paramedics are on their way.”
“Okay good.”
Deeks’ eyes fluttered and Kensi put a hand on his shoulder to keep him still. “Hey, you’re okay,” she said.
He blinked several times, trying to focus. “What…?”
“You passed out,” Kensi said. “Just stay still all right? Help is coming.”
“‘mokay,” he said, struggling to sit up.
“No, no, no,” she put a hand on his face as Nell moved closer to help her keep him down. “No you’re not. Just breathe. Nell hand me those bottles.”
She tucked one underneath each of his armpits and cracked open a third. “Try and drink a little of this,” she directed, helping him hold up his head so he could take a few sips.
Sirens came screaming around the corner and Kensi winced internally. The chances they’d just blown this op were pretty high, but she couldn’t worry about that now. Deeks was her priority, always.
He gradually seemed to come back to himself as the paramedics jumped out and began an IV, removing Kensi’s makeshift icepacks and adding their own. “I don’t know,” Deeks said several minutes later when he was finally more upright. “One minute I was up and then I was down.”
“Your heart rate and blood pressure are still really high so we’re going to take you in,” the medic told him.
“No, that’s, I don’t need—“
“He’ll go,” Kensi told the medic, giving her husband a warning glare. “I’m his wife, can I go with him?”
“Yeah you can ride up front.”
“I’ll go take care of things back…home,” Nell said.
Kensi nodded gratefully, getting to her feet as they got Deeks up and into the ambulance.
He threw up once during the drive, but by the time they reached the hospital he seemed almost back to normal, his face less red, his speech no longer slurred and confused. Kensi felt the hard ball of worry in her gut dissipate as he began to joke with the nurses and doctors, his Deeks charm alive and well.
“So did I blow the op?” he asked when they finally had a second alone together.
“That doesn’t matter,” Kensi said. “What matters is you being all right. Why didn’t you say anything? We could have pulled you out.”
“I didn’t realize how bad it was. I was just talking to Nick and everything went dark and then I saw your beautiful face looking down at me.” He looked at her with wide, sappy eyes.
“Do not try and charm your way out of this Martin Deeks,” she said. “I am not happy with you right now.”
“C’mon babe! It’s not a big deal.”
“Oh it’s not? How about I call your mother and tell her why you aren’t coming into the bar tonight? Do you think she’ll agree it’s not a big deal?”
“Kensi no,” he said in horror. “You cannot call my mom.”
She held up her phone threateningly. “Then behave and do what the doctors tell you to. Otherwise I leave Mama B is going to be over here before I even hang up the phone.”
“Okay, okay!” Deeks held up his hands in surrender.
“Thank you.” She put her phone away, then sighed, brushing away a stray curl from his forehead. “You really scared me babe.”
He caught her hand, locking his fingers with hers. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to.”
“I know. Just don’t do it again. Maybe we need to retire Artie. That outfit has way too many layers for this kind of heat.”
“Hey, don’t blame Artie for this! He’s just out there living his best life on the streets. He can’t help it that the heat index caused me to pass out.”
Kensi raised her eyebrows. “You know that Artie’s not real right? It’s just you in a disguise?”
“He’s a part of me Kensi,” Deeks said, a dramatically wounded expression on his face. “And he always will be.” She rolled her eyes and extricated her hand. “Yeah, you’re better now. I’m going to go check in with Nell.”
“Our bond is special! You can’t take that away from us!” Deeks called as she left the room.
“My husband,” Kensi said to a surprised nurse who was walking by. “There’s no cure for him.”
G Callen knows he’s in NO place to question someone who just wants to go by a single name.
Also, I love the jokes about how Fatima is not really “The Man” nor is she “A Man” on International Women’s Day. I’m taking that as an Eowyn shoutout.
Also, COD’s delivery of “I bet” was amazing. Followed by “Good times, Willy” which was a very Deeks line. Where does one blue-eyed BroTP half begin and the other end?
Epilogue
A/N: Last chapter of Meant to Be! Thanks for sticking with me. Also, shoutout to @mashmaiden for helping out with the idea for this last chapter.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
6 years later
Kensi feels his presence as soon as he’s beside her. “Can you believe it?”
Taking a drag from his beer, he shakes his head in astonishment at the scene playing out before them. “I know, our 6 year old can shovel down cake just like you.”
Her nose scrunches at her husband’s mention of her eating habits and her finger find his side pinching his love handle.
“Ow.”
“Watch yourself mister.” She turns finally looking at him, the love of her life and his adorable pouty face. “I meant that we now have a teenager in the house and Stevie starts kindergarten Monday.” It feel like yesterday they were bringing the newest member of their family home from the hospital. Stephanie “Stevie” Marie Deeks, born June 14, 2015, full head of strawberry blonde hair and the greenest eyes you could ever imagine.
“Don’t remind me.” He gets a little sad as he watches their eldest laugh with her friends and then scold her little sister for bothering them. “Next thing we know they’ll be off to college and then getting married and then-“
“Really not helping my emotional state right now, babe.”
“I’m sorry.”
She looks up at him with her big brown doe eyes. “I think you need to kiss it and make it better.”
“You’re the boss.” A soft smile graces his lips as he leans in connecting his lips to her very welcoming soft lips, but just as soon as their lips meet they pull back trying to hold back their laughter at the scolding the birthday girl gives them.
“Ew, not in front of my friends.” The young brunette rolls her eyes and ushers her friends to the pool getting as far away as she can.
“And so it begins.”
Kensi laughs and takes hold of his arm as she looks over at their youngest daughter and yep, she’s still eating cake. “At least we still have one kid that’s not embarrassed of us, right, Stevie?”
The six year old takes a brief moment away from her chocolatey dessert to look at her parents, she nods shrugging. “I guess.”
The couple turn towards one another and burst into laughter. At least they have each other. Just as soon as they catch their breath, Deeks takes a seat on the pool loungers and Kensi finder her place right next to him, squirming until her face is snuggled next to his, her breath now hot against his ear, her arm and leg slung over his body.
He can’t help the shiver that runs through his body at the feel of her body pressed up against his. Marty Deeks is always one for snuggling with his wife but she usually doesn’t like the PDA so much. “What are you doing?”
“Hiding.”
“You mean hugging?”
“Did I stutter? This is my safe place. Now shut up and wrap your arms around me.” She whispers against his ear, wrapping her arm and leg tighter around him not caring who’s watching.
He huffs a laugh and pulls his arm out from between them, wrapping it around her shoulder as he brings her body closer into his and places a kiss to the top of her head. “We have a good life, don’t we.”
Kensi lets out a sigh of contentment. Seven years ago she would’ve never expected to fall so deeply in love with a man that it hurt just by not being in the same room with him. But here they are now, married with two great kids and curled up in each other’s embrace. This is better than she could ever have dreamt of. “We have a great life.”

Mali-Booty Call
A/N: This is very bad and I regret nothing and huge shoutout to @chrisodonline who provided what is probably the best title for a fic in the history of ever. Now read on for some post “Born to Run” bone jumping hilarity.
Deeks was right. It was going to be a problem. She’d mocked him and refused to agree with his declarations because that was their MO: he said something, she refuted it. It was adorable. A fun quirk of their relationship. Except right now, it was not so fun and she REALLY didn’t want to admit it.
She’d made it twenty-four hours. The first day back had been fine. They’d had a big case, Nell was missing, it was all a good distraction. But today things were a little slower. And Deeks was leaning over a table in ops, his cute, little butt just staring right at her face. A cute little butt that had spent a lot of time next to hers for the past few days. Their time in Malibu had been…great. There had been a lot of naked and then a lot of snacks and then a lot more naked and she couldn’t remember a better weekend in recent history.
All those memories flooded through her, sending a tingling feeling straight to her toes as Deeks shifted his weight, his butt moving back and forth in a sassy little wiggle.
Damn her husband and his well toned ass.
“Somebody has to go to the boat shed for interviews,” Callen said.
“Deeks and I will do it!” Kensi said quickly, trying to keep her voice level.
“Sam and I can—“
“Nope, we’ve got it,” she told him. “You guys stay here and keep digging into the wife’s background.”
They only made it downstairs before Kensi couldn’t stand it anymore. She grabbed Deeks’ s hand and pulled him into the burn room. “Kens, what the--?”
Her lips found his at the same time her fingers grabbed the hem of his shirt. He responded back immediately, his body pressing against hers, despite his obvious confusion. “Wait,” he gasped, “I thought you said—“
“Sometimes I’m wrong,” she said breathlessly. “Now shut up and take off your pants.”
They were halfway to his ankles, his hands tangled in her hair when the door opened. Kensi yelled and Deeks swore and Eric looked like he might throw up. “Oh, sorry!” he said. “I thought you were—never mind. Carry on!”
“What’s going on in there?” Nell’s voice was muffled by the closed door.
“Nothing! Just some…newlywed love,” Eric said.
“Are they doing it in there?”
“I don’t want to talk about it! Why does this keep happening to me?!”
Kensi squeezed her eyes shut. “Okay, it’s fine. It’s fine,” she said, reaching for the hem of her shirt.
“Uh, babe, as much as I love the illicit burn room sex, that was a little bit of a mood killer,” Deeks said.
She let her head fall against his chest. “Damn it!”
He kissed her hair and then began pulling up his pants. He grinned at her wickedly. “I’d say I was right about you wanting to jump my bones, but I won’t.”
“If you ever want it to happen again, you definitely won’t,” she growled.
They stepped into the interrogation room and Deeks settled next to her at the table. “So Frank,” Deeks said loudly. “Frank, Frank, Frank, Frank, Frank. What have you gotten yourself into?”
They’d just really started in on the guy when Kensi felt Deeks’ hand on her knee. He squeezed it gently and she had to work to keep a straight face above the table. “Tell me again why you were on State Street at four am?” Deeks asked.
His hand slid a little higher up her thigh and Kensi bit her tongue. Who was jumping whose bones now?
He leaned back and slowly continued his journey north, obviously waiting for her to flinch. But two could play at that game. Kensi kept her face stony and boldly put her own hand directly on his thigh. “You know we can see you,” Sam’s voice said dryly in both of their ears.
Both of them snatched their hands back. Kensi wanted to scream in frustration. Damn Deeks and his suggestions! It was his fault she was sitting here all  hot and bothered. And now they’d been caught out by a second member of the team. This was getting old fast.
She was incredibly put out by the time they finished the interview and even more so by the fact that for all his talk, Deeks seemed totally fine. He walked out of the room and chatted to the rest of the team in Ops via video feed as if he hadn’t just played a game of chicken with her in front of a suspect, although the rest of the team had some pretty serious smirk going on, clearly pleased at having something to hold over their heads.
“You all right there baby?” Deeks asked as they got into the car.
“Yep. Great. Perfect,” Kensi said stiffly as she pulled onto the road.
“You sure? Because you look a little…off.”
“I’m fine!” she snapped.
“Ooookay. That wedded bliss thing didn’t last long.”
“Well that’s all your fault buddy!” she said as she took a sharp right turn.
“My fault!”
“Yes! You were all ‘don’t jump my bones at work’ which hadn’t even crossed my mind until you said it and now I can’t stop thinking about it!”
“So that whole time just now sitting in interrogation…”
“You mean while you were practically sticking your hand up my metaphorical skirt? I was thinking about you naked. Yes. Are you happy? You win. I want to jump your bones right now.”
He was grinning from ear to ear and she refused to look at him. “I had no idea you were in such dire straits.”
“This is not funny! I’m mad at you.”
“Pull over.”
“What?”
“Pull. The car. Over.”
She put on her blinker and pulled into an empty lot behind a large warehouse. “What?” she huffed once they were in park.“The backseat is wide open.”
“The backseat is wide open.”
She stared at him. “What?”
“You want to jump my bones on the clock? Now’s your chance.”
“What if someone sees us?”
“It’s getting dark.” He looked outside the window. “Nobody’s around. No chance of a teammate interrupting our fun.”
“You’re joking.”
“I never joke about car sex.” He thought for a second. “Okay, not true. But right now I have never been more serious about it.” She continued to stare at him and he shrugged. “I mean if you’d rather not—“
She grabbed his face and kissed him hard. It took a good bit of maneuvering to get into the back seat and both received an elbow or knee to the stomach at one point or another but finally Kensi was on top of him, pulling at his shirt for the second time that day. “Ouch,” she said as he shifted and accidentally kicked her.
 “Sorry,” he mumbled. “Okay. That’s better.”
Kensi was halfway out of her own shirt when there was a tap on the car window. “Holy--! Ow!” She hit her head on the ceiling.
“Detective Deeks? Agent Deeks?”
Deeks looked up at her. “Is that Hetty?”
 “I hate to interrupt but we have work to do.”
“What the hell is she doing here?” Kensi hissed, fumbling to re-button her blouse. “We’re in a freaking parking lot in the middle of downtown LA!”
“She’s always had some kind of timing,” Deeks said as she slid off his lap and allowed him to reach for the door handle.
Sure enough their recently returned boss was standing outside, her arms crossed in clear impatience. “I hate to interrupt your honeymoon phase, but we do have a case, do we not?”
“Hetty,” Deeks said. “Fancy meeting you here. We didn’t realize you were involved in this case.”
“Well I am still the Operations Manager of special projects. It’s my job to be involved. Now perhaps the two of you would like to follow me to your destination? We wouldn’t want you getting…lost again.” She gave them a look and turned away, clearly expecting them to follow.
After several very long hours at the crime scene during which Hetty disappeared almost immediately, Kensi and Deeks headed back to the mission only to find it deserted. “Well I’m glad we wasted all that time coming back here to report to…no one,” Kensi said grouchily.
They’d both been in a pretty foul mood since Hetty’s interruption, but Kensi was clearly taking it worse than her husband. Deeks shook his head. “What a crack team we have around here. Can’t solve the crime of the day but their timing and involvement in our sex life can’t be topped.”
“And apparently neither can we,” Kensi grumbled.
Deeks raised his eyebrows. “Did you just make a sex joke?”
She ignored him. “Let’s just go home.”
“Aw, it’ll be okay.” Deeks slung an arm around her shoulders as they walked toward the door. “I bet your husband will be up for trying to ‘top’ that second night in Malibu.”
“And now you’re the one making sex jokes.”
“I can’t help it. My wife is so hot and I haven’t had sex with her in like twelve whole hours.” He pinned her up against the wall of the hallway. “I’ve been wanting to jump her bones all day.”
His lips found hers in a teasing kiss that quickly turned into more. She pulled away and grabbed his hand, leading him into the locker room. Once inside she jumped, wrapping her legs around his waist, her mouth finding his once more. “Making this a literal bone jumping I see,” he teased as they broke apart so she could pull his shirt over his head.
“Well if we’re going to do it we should do it right,” she said with a grin.
“I like the way you think Kensi Deeks.”
She paused and a huge smile crossed her face. “I love hearing you say that.”
“I love saying it.”
“And I would love it if the two of you could keep your newlywedded bliss to the confines of your own home,” Callen said as he stepped out from behind a locker, shouldering his gym bag as he went. “Or at least clear the room before you start.”
“Oh come on!” Deeks cried.
“Don’t act like this is my fault. You’re the ones choosing to go at it like rabbits all over the mission.” Callen shouldered his gym bag. “You should have just taken the whole week off.”
“Yeah we’ll consider that for next time,” Kensi said through gritted teeth.
“Carry on!” Callen called over his shoulder as he walked out the door.
Kensi had let go and was now standing on the floor, her back pressed against the wall. “Come on,” she said. “Let’s just go pick up a pizza and call it a day.”
“Whoa, hey, we’re all alone in here right now. You’re just going to give up?”
“Are you telling me Eric’s a mood killer, but Callen’s not?”
He shrugged. “Make of that what you will. So? Ready to get down to business?”
“No.” She shook her head and walked toward the door. “Having sex at work has kind of lost its appeal.”
Deeks let the matter drop and they headed for home, stopping only to pick up pizza on the way. Once there Kensi mumbled something about wanting a shower before stomping into their bedroom and closing the door behind her. She let the frustrations of the day slide off her as she stood under the water. She half expected Deeks to make an appearance, but he was apparently enjoying the pizza too much to join her.
She was still a little moody as she wrapped a towel around herself and wandered into the bedroom. Her phone rang almost immediately. She frowned at the caller ID. “Deeks?” she asked as she picked up. “Why are you calling me from the living room?”
“Hey,” he said, his voice low. “What are you wearing?”
“Um… a towel,” she said.
“Ooh, that’s hot.”
 “Deeks, what are you doing?”
“Well since we didn’t get to bang it out at work, I thought I would try something else.”
“Which is?”
“A booty call.” He paused and she could tell he’d just thought of something he found hilarious. “A Mali-booty call. Crap! That’s what we should have called our weekend in Malibu!”
“Babe, if you’re trying to do something here, it’s not working.”
 “Oh, right. Okay.” He cleared his throat. “I’ve been thinking about you all day.”
“Oh really?” She sat down on the bed, shaking her head at the smile on her face. He was so dumb and she loved it. “What specifically?”
“About how hot it was when you showed up at our wedding in only half your dress. And about where that dress ended up later that night.”
“Mmhmmm.” She leaned back against the pillows. “It was a pretty good night.”
“It was indeed. And the weekend after was pretty good too. All that time in the hot tub…the shower…that one night on the beach…”
“That night could definitely count as a Mali-booty call.”
“Listen, I know it’s late but…is it all right if I come over?”
“I don’t know. What do you plan to do when you get here?”
His answer had her reaching for the door handle and pulling him into the bedroom as fast as she could. It turned out a late night booty call was even more fun than burn room sex.
