The Cats of RiverClan: Shinepaw

A long furred, sleek coated brown classic tabby tom with sharp blue eyes and a glossy coat. Shinepaw’s fur is rough patterned and he’s considered the perfect mix of Pheasanttail and Puddleeye - he’s very pleased by his appearance and takes great care to keep himself clean and neat.
Initially excited to be a warrior, Shinepaw’s eagerness was abruptly shattered by Pheasanttail’s accident and has subsequently developed a fear of water. Shinepaw is terrified that he could hurt one of his fellow apprentices - one of his sisters - by mistake while learning battle moves. He’s seen Pheasanttail’s despondent expression and the way he denied Cottonvberry’s offer for retraining him on fine-motor tasks and refusing pain herbs and refuses to even risk doing it to his littermates.
While Amberpaw and Goldpaw have been trying to help him, he’s steadfast in his decision and is even considering becoming a medic apprentice so that he can less the chances that he has to go into battle.
Everything came to a head when his sister fell into the river while it was flooding - panicked, Shinepaw lept in and dragged Amberpaw to safety. While she coughed and was off-duty for a short while, his sister fully recovered.
This event gave both Shinepaw and Brushwhisker the confidence to begin tentatively training in the water again. Once Shinepaw came to accept and work through his fear, he once again found training to be enjoyable and fun. He proudly accepted the name Shineswoop in reference to the day he became a RiverClan warrior once more and although he will never forget what his tactics could do to another warrior, he’s willing to fight for his clan. He considers his experience to be a necessary sobering so that he never does what Foamfoot once did - even to a non-RiverClan cat and has vowed to show future apprentices the danger of their actions as well.

I hate drawing a design twice ngl because i always feel like it gets worse the more i draw it but he needed a full body so here he is! Magpiepaw! The tricky Shadowclan Medicine Cat Apprentice. He loves pranks, and shenanigans, and tomfoolery when not on the job but the moment an injury, unless its really stupid, or illness comes to him hes full in the zone and will take and do no bullshit to ensure the cat is healed up to full strength. He doesn't care if your friend or foe, if you come to him, you get treated with no tomfoolery beyond a few jokes to lower the mood. Despite how he can be quite the menace and not the most reverent towards Starclan he's on track to be getting his full name soon.
While a brilliant strategist, he's a strict pacifist and would only fight in a last ditch effort to escape a conflict, though a strong enough cause might make him bend these morals for the sake of said cause. For the most part though he puts his intense intelligence into the furthering of medicine and pranks.
Currently he's verrry suspicious of this new loner they brought in and made an apprentice, Shinepaw doesn't seem right at all, kitty cat uncanny valley. Everyone else might be fooled, even his mentor Bumblebee, but Magpiepaw is certain whatever that...creature....is, it's not a cat! It doesn't help that Starclan keeps yelling at him a prophecy as well! What the FUCK does "When lightning strikes the shining stone and darkness covers the stars, heed the mournful bird's call." even MEAN, Starclan is so USELESS he swears.

wait, Twinpaw can talk to ghosts? what's that look like?
Yes! He can, albeit not so gracefully. This is what it looks like to Twinpaw basically!
The communication started to happen a few weeks before Twinpaw became an apprentice. At first, Blurfoot assumed they were night terrors, but when Blurfoot asks Twinkit about the 'night terrors', it's when Blurfoot realizes Twinkit is communicating with Star Colony cats.
And while it mostly happens at night...
It can happen in the day too.
In terms of what it feels like for Twinpaw, it's usually what a sensory overload feels like. Only Twinpaw's senses are overloaded and focused on Star Colony cats complaining or crying about something. Blurfoot will calmly guide Twinpaw to a soft patch of grass or back to the healers den to calm the shaking and scared apprentice, even if they both know the ghost cats follow them.
When the ghost cats leave, Twinpaw is left with a major migraine and struggles to speak (Sometimes it leads to Twinpaw blacking out, but it rarely happens). Blurfoot always makes sure they have a stash of feverfew on them to give Twinpaw after the fact. Twinpaw doesn't want this to be a big event or tragedy every single time, and with a migraine, they still take their healer training seriously.
The only cats who know Twinpaw has this ability are Blurfoot, Blurfoot's Uncle Snowwhisker, Heavyclaw (Knuckles), and Shinepaw (Ray).
Blurfoot has set up Twinpaw to get help from Heavyclaw (who is a professional at communicating with Calendulasong atp) to figure out why this is happening and how to use this ability to Twinpaw's advantage.

AU, what if Leafpool and Crowfeather did run off together?
I've always loved the idea of characters getting a happy ending instead of their shitty Canon one. Ones I think about a lot are crow/leaf getting to leave without starclan/midnight interrupting them from leaving, so they have lion, holly, and jay somewhere pretty far away from the clans. But after that I took some creative liberty so here is some information
In this AU, Crowfeather and Leafpool where somewhat truthful with their kits, and told them about them leaving the clans. And they gave them apprentice/warrior names. Also like don't come for me but I like to think that lion, holly, and jay's warrior names would stay the same. Cause I like them.
I also think that Crowfeather and Leafpool would have another litter of kits. Now this is where I take a lot of liberty, not to be a little "omg these are my ocs they are the kits of these canon cats" but like this is my interpretation of more crowpool babies. So first of all I wanted to explain Lionblaze's name, so Leafpool's second littler is also a littler of three, Blazekit, Shinekit, and Ashkit. But Blazekit dies at about 3 moons old and so Lionblaze is named after Blazekit. Shinekit and Ashkit survive thankfully tho.
Also in the AU, Crowfeather is very protective of his kits and he was an advocate for Jayfeather to be a warrior in his eyes. So Jayfeather has a good amount of warrior training but Leafpool had all of her kits dabble in a lot of medicine cat training as well. So like in the end they are all kinda like medicine cat/warrior training. Although Jayfeather is way better at it then any of his siblings but he refuses to be a medicine cat fully. Anyways so overview: Leafpool and Crowfeather live in their own territory and have two litters of kits. Hollyleaf, Jayfeather, Lionblaze, Blazekit, Shinepaw, and Ashpaw.
Blazekit is a dark ginger tabby tom, Shinepaw is a golden colored tabby she cat, and Ashpaw is a dark gray, blueish she cat. Just some descriptions for you guys 👍
So then story time, basically when leafpool left Squirrelflight became like depressed and the whole badger attack happened. But Ashfur also died in it along with Cinderpelt. So Brightheart became a part time medicine cat but not a full time one. So now Ashfur is non existent and Squirrelflight turned to Bramblestar for comfort which is a bad choice tbh but whatever.
Anyways back to the present day, basically starclan tells jayfeather that they gotta go back to thunderclan and jayfeather finds out about the prophecy. So they all have a family road trip to thunderclan and go help them. And that's all for now, tell me if your interested or like if I should change anything 😭🙏 Thank you for reading!!
