Tamerlane knew she needed her lovers. Shasta comes home first, her journey slow but easy. Beverly Keane took longer to come home, her journey longer and her mind clouded with worry for her beloved. She enters slowly, locks them all in then moves to kiss both Shasta and Tamerlane before moving away to shower and change her clothes, she knew she would need time to adjust to being home, even as she smiles to herself. The long journey was worth it for the happiness in Tamerlane’s smile. She would, always, love Tamerlane and Shasta. She found peace, true peace, here, with them both.

The World Moves In Mysterious Ways – Beverly Keane/Shasta/Tamerlane Usher

A/N: Day 15 part 3 for @fluffbruary

They meet by chance. Beverly Keane, servant of a church and monsignor that didn’t care for her kind is the first to arrive, she’s always wanted to try the bakery on the mainland and now, free of church and home, she plans to. Shasta is next, drawn by the offering of tea and pastries. Simple, pure pleasure. Tamerlane Usher comes last, walking to the bakery near her holiday home, needing space to think, coffee to drink and pastries to keep her warm. They meet by chance, but Beverly sees the flicker of pain in Tamerlane’s eyes, the blood dripping from a cut cheek had dried but she seems haunted by something. Shasta senses when Tamerlane’s eyes close, moving to catch her and lift the woman to her arms to bring her to a seat. Later, much later, Tamerlane wakes to fresh coffee, herbal teas and pastries from the bakery. She had been brought home with Shasta, Beverly joining them, sensing a call to protect the fragile woman. There, they talk. Tamerlane admits her faults, her inability to sleep, to be cared for, to trust herself. There, they talk. Shasta speaks softly, whispering care to Tamerlane that she can and does accept. There they talk. Beverly admits her past, her pains, her hopes. There, they talk and as they talk, they love, they love so true they bond and bind and share lives. There they talk and as they talk they find their future, in one another.

Honeyed Words - Shasta/Beverly Keane/Tamerlane Usher

“Honey…” Shasta’s voice is soft, gently warm and loving. Her touch is light, stroking a soft hand through Tamerlane’s lightly tangled hair, smoothing it one more time. She can see the tears stinging Tamerlane’s eyes. “Poor, sweet girl.” “Still sleepless, little Dove?” Beverly speaks softly, moving to join her lovers, cupping Tamerlane’s heart-shaped face in tender hands, brushing away the tracking tears from Tamerlane’s cheeks. She can see the pain there in Tamerlane’s eyes. “Oh, Honey… what are we to do with you?” The words are softly affectionate and Shasta smiles at the way Tamerlane shrugs, then sips the tea Beverly had handed her on coming into the room. Honey, softly sweet, then camomile and lavender, mint too. She’s quiet, of course, sleeplessness has been painful and Beverly smiles softly when Tamerlane drains the drink, accepting the cup back. “Sleep, little Dove, we have you now, it’s alright.” Tamerlane sleeps, slowly, Beverly pressed to her back, soft lips touching her shoulder, Shasta allowing her to curl close, soft lips touching her forehead. She’s fast asleep, safe at last, loved. It is enough.

A spending splurge was unusual, for any Usher child. Still, as Tamerlane considers rings and amulets, she finds she wants to splurge. She spends a little, at first, selecting matching amulets, bracelets, rings. She’s quiet as she buys the expensive things, not once caring about the price, all she wants is to make sure that her new beloveds know how much they mean. Shasta, her sweet girl, is warm and true and real. Her name might not be, of course, Shasta has always been a mystery, but her love… her love is the one thing Tamerlane needs most.   Beverly, sweet and strong and faithful Beverly, insists she doesn’t want or need money, but Tamerlane spends anyway. She splurges love in gold and rings and promises. She knows the money means nothing, but their love, her love, means it all. The girls, both, make her feel alive in ways she can’t help but love. She’s been sleeping, as if dead, since she got home to Shasta, who had fled her lands to join their home, and Beverly. So she splurges, she spends, she helps Shasta run her company, she makes her life worth while with love alone. It is, she thinks, enough.

Comet lovers. They came and went. So many times they came and went. Beverly Keane wanted her lovers home once and for all. So, when Shasta came home first, she didn’t complain, merely made sure to make space for her girls. Shasta’s new work had provided fresh income to the town, making it easier for Shasta and Beverly to expand the rooms and home they have to make space for Tamerlane Usher to come home, the girl’s tastes took shape in the taste for expensive things, but she also had clearly been longing to be loved. So, when she did finally come home, she found a bedroom set up with a lot of luxury and space to be herself. She was, finally, no longer a comet but a comet pulled from orbit to settle at home.

The neighbours often seemed to believe Beverly boring, or stuck up, a simple innocent woman. She knew they believed it, well enough she tended to lean into it. Then Tamerlane came to visit, bringing Shasta with her. The three had been dating for years, Beverly taking breaks to journey away from Crockett to see them both. This time they came to her. In the end it was Shasta who came on the right idea. Prove the neighbours wrong. Beverly, they soon learnt, was a little too able to be loud, loud enough to be heard whining their names, calling on god as Shasta and Tamerlane worked together to bring her over the edge time and again. It’s only later, far later, just before Mass, that they face the neighbours, Beverly smiling as she walks with her lovers, shameless and honest as always.

Acting VP. Everyone knows the ‘Acting’ will give way in time but this is a good chance for both Beverly and Shasta to surprise Roderick and Madeline. A high placement in terms of jobs but both Beverly and Shasta know the roles are to safeguard Tamerlane. They do it willingly, stepping in when needed. Shasta picks up a lot of the front-facing secretary roles, often helping Tamerlane with paperwork even as Beverly steps into the role of ‘Tamerlane’, taking the weight off Tamerlane when it’s all a little much. Nights, finally, are spent with Tamerlane tucked safe between them as she rests, happy and healthy and finally safe.

Found Love In A Hopeless Place - Shasta/Tamerlane Usher/Beverly Keane

A/N: Day 2 for @polyamships Multiamory March. The biggest multi-show crossover so far.

Later Beverly Keane will wonder what lead her to follow Shasta to Tamerlane Usher’s door. HolyBug, a bible subscription service has been going strong for several months but Shasta had been persistently sure she needed, they needed, to check on Tamerlane. Now, watching the woman’s eyes, she knows what drew Shasta here. Sensing a loss of hope. Tamerlane is quiet now, sipping tea that Shasta had made, safely cradled between them, both women’s touch seeming to sooth her. Tamerlane had been tender since they first met her, Shasta first, supplying stress relief for the team at Goldbug, then Beverly when things expanded. Love, real love, a trinity of love followed… a blossoming hope starting to return to Tamerlane as they reminded her how much they cared.

“Who did this to you?” Beverly’s voice is soft even as she cleans Tamerlane’s cuts, the shards picked gently free from her cheek and feet, the near-mortal wound healed faster than it should have been. Tamerlane still does not understand entirely how it happened. All she had seen and felt were warm arms and a Raven’s wings brushing the glass shards from the bed, smoothing her down to wait for her beloveds. “Who hurt you?” “I… I did.” Tamerlane’s voice is soft, weak even and Shasta speaks softly as she comes back to the room, carrying a warm tea that smells of camomile and lavender. A sleep tea, Tamerlane thinks, how normal. How very normal. “Drink deeply, love… let us tend your needs.” Tamerlane sighs, sipping the tea as Shasta holds the mug for her, accepting sip after sip, slimming down her needs to simple sleep and comfort. She’s asleep in moments, Beverly moving to clear the glass, Shasta curled into the girl’s back, her whisper soft. “No more woes, my sweet girl… no more tears.” Alone had been all Tamerlane knew, love was pain, hate was easier but she wanted neither. Love now, love here, held by Shasta and watched with tender eyes by Beverly, feels right, feels like it should have always been this way. Unseen by any Verna watches, smiles and walks away. Her choice, breaking the deal, stings. She is bleeding a little as she walks away but the girl had turned from her father, the angry words still ringing in Verna’s ears. “I wish I wasn’t your fucking blood, dad, all you do is hurt me.” So Verna forgives the debt, walks away from a woman who is so hurting that she needs only to sleep and heal. She needs, badly, to be loved. Now, as she walks away, Verna promises herself she will make sure this one lives. No matter the cost.

Keys, the key to a home can mean many things to many people. For many it means hope. The twist of Sarah’s key in the door lights a lamp in Maggie’s view, the woman is quiet even now, setting her book down and letting the door closed before flipping the lock closed, checking everything is safely locked down before moving to settle beside Maggie and welcome the woman into her lap, the two content to sit in silence, comfortable in one another’s arms. Shirley Crain’s key unlocking the door means Leigh will be treated to tales of sweet kids and sad people who need help. All things that Leigh loves to listen to, she’s content here, loved and happy to look after the children whilst Shirley works. The offer of a key for Shasta means everything. She is welcomed, finally, home. Home to Georgina Stanton, home to love and care and a chance to really, truly live. She is quiet the first time she uses it, slipping into the hospice, then the elevator, making her way up alone to Stanton’s rooms, letting herself in and locking the door behind her, curling into Stanton’s lap when the woman beckons her, content to sit, sharing a small roll of weed, the two settling into one another’s orbit like it’s natural. Erin’s key, gifted in a moment of fear by Beverly Keane, rarely touches the door. This time, when the storms are due, she lets herself in, the key clicking in the lock even as she locks it shut, moving closer and pulling a trembling Beverly into her arms, kissing her silent, promising she’s safe. Tamerlane’s fingers close around the key as she paces, waiting for Candy, her Candy, the woman she loves most, to come home. People have always thought Candy was still just a hooker, but that hasn’t been true since Bill left. She never pays anymore and spends most nights sleeping in Candy’s arms. Candy is quiet when she lets herself in, locking them in and smiling softly when she turns to see Tamerlane still twisting the key in her hands, then Tamerlane’s hands move, unfurling to reveal the key, her voice soft, hopeful. “I’d like you to stay…” Candy’s smile, quick, bright, warm is reward enough even as the woman’s lips cover her own. “I’ll stay Darling, as long as you want me.”
