Happy 2024!! Here's hoping it'll be a good year. I have a lot of personal growth I want to work on as well as some creative projects, so I'll try to be optimistic!

I started playing Heart Fragment back in the demo days but it's been a while since I've played, so I spent the last couple days of 2023 getting back into it and playing Shannon's route and??? I already loved her??? But now I can romance her??? And somehow I love her even more??? I've only reached one of her endings and I can't wait to get the others. Number 1 Shannon stan ~

Anyways I just started this blog this year and only started posting a lot really recently, but I'm so grateful for all the love I've already received. Every time I see a comment, reblog, new tags, likes, all of it makes me smile. I see it all and I couldn't be more grateful. I hope 2024 is a good year for us all!

Hey! Sorry if this is a question that's really obvious and I'm just too dumb to figure it out but I had a question about Shannon's route. There's some stuff about her mother having been divorced but then Shannon says some stuff that seems like maybe that's not the case. Am I interpreting this correctly? Is her mother actually dead?

Hello! Don't worry, no dumb questions. :) I left this fairly vague as it'll be touched on further in her epilogue, but I'll go ahead and explain under the cut!

TW: suicide

Shannon's mother is dead, yes. To be specific, she committed suicide.

Shannon claims to most people who ask that her parents are divorced. The longer this lie went on, the harder it was for Shannon to tell Xani the reality. At first she rationalized the lie as not wanting to bring up Xani's trauma about losing their own mother, but over time, Shannon began to hide things from their best friend in order to appear more "perfect" and "happy".

Perhaps to some extent, you could say that Shannon unintentionally internalized Xani's own fear of opening up about trauma.

Knowing this, you can see how Shannon has suffered from passive suicidal thoughts over the years as well. "You can go visit her. I'm sure she'd love to see you," Xani says to her at one point. "I've considered it. Going to visit her. I decided now isn't the right time," Shannon says in reply.

Don't worry. They'll communicate about it in full in her epilogues. <3

General Heart Fragment Headcanons (pt. 1)

Because it's still occupying my mind. Also spoilers for Book 1 and Book 2!!

Natalia is THAT girl. She takes care of herself. She has a full skincare routine she carries out every week.

She once offered Teryl one of those shiny, silver face masks

He accepted it. And then asked for another one. And another one.

Cue Clive entering the shack. Two long-haired men with silver faces greet him. He doesn’t remember much about what happened after that.

Shannon has some beef with some bigger bakery corporations (because she’s just BETTER.)

No joke, they sent her a cease and desist email to literally stop handing out free pastries (she made herself) because people stopped purchasing from their stores during that period of time

Jasper sometimes uses the nickname ‘Lia’ for Natalia

Xani is kind of fluent in Spanish

Gray has his own StarxSocial account that Xani helped set up

He doesn’t post a lot on there, he mainly uses it for keeping up with news and… pop culture - in order to try and connect with Xani because god knows what the youth of the time are interested in

From time to time, he will get logged out and will have to ask his daughter how to log back in 

“Girl. What’s my password.”

“Sigh. It’s Learntowritedownyourpassword. And both of our birth years.”

“…doesn’t work.” “I didn’t mean it literally!!”

As a result of his mutation, Jasper actually has (retractable) wolf-like fangs! No, he’s not a vampire. No, he won’t bite you to suck your blood. (Although I’m sure a lot of you would loooove that)

Like the rest of his (presumed) powers, he refuses to use his fangs. Though, they may come out simultaneously when his eyes switch colour

Clive has the most horrendous experiences whenever a barista attempts to write his name on a cup

Sometimes he’ll just blurt out a random name that is nowhere close to his out of panic and when his coffee is completed he’ll just be sat there wondering

“Who’s Jonathan and why is he not collecting his coffee what a weirdo"

“……………….wait I’M Jonathan-“

Xani once witnessed Lana mix her own coffee by also dumping a whole energy drink into it

“I am going to die.” And then she chugged the whole thing

Shannon has gossip sessions with Kay.

They are genuinely both nice, caring and drama-free individuals but sometimes they'll hear about the stuff happening around them and be like, "omg we have to talk about this"

Lana may have fallen for her boyfriend first, but he fell way harder 

She got Inigo hyperventilating, giggling, blushing and kicking his blankets!!!

His sketchbooks quickly fill up with images of her and her flowing blue hair (I swear I will draw these two prompts someday. SOMEDAY)

Natalia is quite OP at video games, despite initially not having much experience?

"Teryl, you hand me over that controller right now because I swear I will burst a vein if you spend 20 more seconds on this level struggling"

If the group ever go out in public together, she's in charge of co-ordinating their outfits if she is not satisfied because she knows her fashion 💅

But there will be times where she accidentally matches with Jasper??? Which is completely unintentional?

The whole game centers around the Nomai and their sudden deaths. A whole species wiped out in an instant without rhyme or reason to reach Sol you have to go through the same tests and trials a Nomai would've taken to reach adulthood. All the while you're learning about these long dead people and how much they loved and lost. The echo they leave on the story is massive and is entirely through the writing on walls or logs they left behind. You hear about the couple separated by miles of space not knowing if the other survived. But they're dead. You follow the path the young of the dead once walked. There is a quantum moon that appears and disappears randomly landing on which is the goal of the trials. You learn what the dead once learned and are able to get onto the shifting moon and head to the place these people once worshipped. You've spent hours learning about them. You've spent hours reading the words of ghosts. Against all odds as you approach the place of worship. someone is THERE. A single Nomai who had traveled to the quantum moon to complete her trials just as the entire Nomai population was wiped. The quantum moon exists in several different states- Sol's corpse can be found on every single one but the final one where she lives. She is Schrodinger's Nomai and the only one left. You can speak to her by combining images together. The language gap is too big for proper communication. You combine the images of her and yourself. She has never met you. You have met her ghost hundreds of times. She is stained on the ruins of her people. She is their last whisper of their existence.Your people walk in the massive footprints they left behind and here you are finally meeting them. What is this meeting but special?I have 60 hours in this game. 60 hours of reaching out to the stars and learning of the pain and happiness and grief of the Nomai. What else could describe that relationship; if not 'Friend'? Anyways all this to say i let out the WILDEST sound when i saw Sol. Its dozens of hours thinking youll never meet them than BAM Sol comes into view. I cried when she called me friend. It rlly is a culmination of the whole game and the story of the Nomai - @the-silver-vessel, written in tags of first round
