2023 Recap of Everyone’s Favorite Boy Group Girls

There is no doubt that 2023 was a big year in the K-Pop scene, but there were moments with our favorite boy group girls that seem to have affected their lives greatly during the last 12 months.

Let’s take a look and see what has changed for them.

MIYA - Graduation, Comeback, and Enlistments

BTS Miya had been on hiatus from being an idol ever since the end of the short digital promotions of ‘PROOF’ (aside from the 2022 Yet To Come concert and the last few months as MC of Show Music Core alongside NCT Jungwoo and SKZ Leeknow).

With the finals of her senior year in university ending in the first week of July, Miya marked the end of her idol hiatus by featuring on groupmate Jungkook’s single ‘Seven’ with a verse that surprised fans with its suggestiveness.

She then had her graduation, one all seven members of Bangtan were able to attend alongside her biological and her adoptive brothers. The BTS members posted a video of Yoonmi while they all gathered around her singing the song cover they had made in their earlier years entitled ‘Graduation Song’.

Not only did she graduate university, but it seems she graduated from the innocent makdungie image she had earned in her childhood and made a solo comeback for the first time since 2020 with a sexy concept.

Finally, the biggest change in Miya’s life may be the fact that she is facing life for the next half a year without any of her members by her side as the members of BTS all chose to enlist at relatively similar times in order to come back as eight as soon as possible.

HANNAH - New Roommate, Song Writing, Styling

NCT Hannah admitted on an Instagram live towards the end of December how one of the biggest changes in the past year had been her living situation. Although living in the same building as always alongside the rest of NCT and WayV, her roommate situation changed.

For the first time after six years, Hannah and groupmate Mark stopped being roommates. Although Mark now only lives in the room next to hers, the space he used to occupy was filled by the one person Hannah likes to call her twin flame: Haechan.

The singular girl of NCT showed off her writing skills, filly taking over writing the lyrics for NCT Dream’s ‘Broken Melodies’ with some help from Mark. Though somewhat participating in writing before, this was the first time she had worked on verses that aren’t her own and worked on a whole song.

Hannah was also given the opportunity to become a stylist for the now 21 member group for the NCT 2023 comeback for ‘Golden Age’, ‘Baggy Jeans’, and the track videos and concept photoshoots the group had.

This opportunity extended to the NCT NATION: To The World concerts as well as to the Neo City The Unity tour which will continue into 2024. Hannah is rumored to be working on a product launch possibly for NCT merch of her design sometime in the following year, although sources are not 100% accurate.

SERI - Kittens and Hollywood

TXT Seri is well-known in her fandom for wanting her own pet. She was fond of previous pets kept in the dorm such as Taehyun’s snake Aengdu and Soobin’s hedgehog Odi. She even expressed some affection towards Beomgyu’s parrot Toto despite having a fear of birds.

In the past year, the TXT dorm had earned a new pet to live with them: Seri’s cat Haengbok (or Bokkie, as called by her members). Haengbok was a 3-year-old cat that suffered a loss of home before Seri adopted him.

Haengbok not only accompanied them in their dorm, but throughout their tour as well. Members noted that, since adopting Haengbok, Seri had become less stressed and more efficient with managing her time and keeping herself on track.

Seri also faced a big opportunity in being presented the chance to sing for the official soundtrack of ‘The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes’.

On a track produced by BTS Miya, Seri was able to showcase a different color of her vocals as she showcased her musical background and brought the story of Lucy Gray Baird to life through the song ‘Can’t Catch Me Now’.

ARI - Provider and Disney

Enhypen Ari has been the most quiet of the four in the past year, but fellow groupmate Sunoo revealed on Weverse live that Ari had taken a much bigger role in her family.

Beginning 2023, Ari had apparently decided to shoulder the tuition fee of her little sister for the rest of her school life. Sunoo noted that, while Ari’s parents told her she didn’t have to do so, Ari insisted she wanted to in order to repay them for their support towards her dance and now idol career.

Ari’s family financial background is not uncommon knowledge to many in the K-pop community, being a story of success through hard work and dedication. This fact alone was enough to make the community proud, whether a fan of her or not.

Ari was also given the chance to portray a brand new beloved Disney character by singing the Korean version of the official song of the movie ‘Wish’ entitled ‘This Wish’.

This was a showcase of Ari’s vocals that caught the attention of many people who only previously recognized her for her dance skills and stage presence. Because of this, Ari is now being seen as one of the 4th generation idols with the most star potential.

The year proved to be one of growth for the four boy group girls, posing them with opportunities to be tapped into for the next year and many more to come.

We wish them the best of years ahead and look forward to what they have in store for us in 2024.

{NOTICE} TXT’s Seri Celebrates her Birthday with the Help of Seventeen’s Dino

Over a month ago, it was revealed to the general public that the reason the two Hybe artists have been seen together is their practice for the rumored dance video they will be putting out. This stirred excitement with MOAs especially as Seri had just been Studio Choom’s Artist of the Month in April. She mentioned quite often how Dino has been able to help her quite a bit with improving her dance skills.

Now that her birthday has actually come, fans were surprised when two videos dropped the moment the clock struck midnight.

A new video entitled “and july || Seri ft. SVT Dino, Prod. Beomgyu” appeared on TXT’s Youtube Channel. You can watch it here.

Upon first listen, one could easily get addicted to the old school jazzy hiphop beats made by none other than her co-member Beomgyu. The lyrics talk about the blurred lines being crossed in a complex love-hate relationship. As seen in the music video, the two idols seem to be living together with tension in the air as they sometimes argue and sometimes get along.

Seri decided to show off both her vocal skills and rap technique alongside Dino throughout this song, giving off a different vibe from what both of them are used to. Carats especially were pleased to hear more of Dino’s vocals coming from the song.

The theme of complex relationships seem to continue on to the Seventeen channel where another “Dino’s Danceology” had been published featuring the birthday girl Yoon Seri herself. It is linked over here. The song and choreography once again reflects the ambiguous connection between the characters held by the two idols.

Both “and july” and “Dino’s Danceology” videos seem to have been pulled off quite well especially due to the chemistry between Seri and Dino. As seen on Seri’s live back in May, the two idols are quite close and playful around each other, which makes them comfortable enough to act out their concepts without struggle.

MOAs and Carats have been posting about these two videos all day out of excitement. It’s even reached the point where many are waiting for another collaboration between these two as well.

It’s safe to say Seri’s having a good birthday.

{NOTICE} TXT’s Seri and Seventeen’s Dino Reportedly Dating

It seems that three out of four Princesses of Kpop have found themselves their princes.

In 2018, almost two years before anyone even found out, BTS’s Miya and NCT’s Mark turned their friendship into a relationship and are still going strong. Earlier this year, we found out that NCT’s Hannah and WayV’s Yangyang seem to have gotten together around Christmas time of last year as well. The third addition to the Princesses of Kpop seemingly followed their footsteps in finding a prince.

Recently, TXT’s Seri mentioned being in the practice room with Seventeen’s Dino. For the first time in a long time this year, Dino posted selcas on Weverse, and Seri was in them. Now this may be because they now work in the same building, but fans speculate something else.

They were spotted leaving the HYBE building together and going to the convenience store. According to our sources, they seemed very comfortable with each other, lots of laughs shared between them.

As of now, HYBE has not released any statements regarding the situation. Fans are split about this, some thinking it’s because the company is too busy for both TXT’s and BTS’s comebacks. Others think it’s because it’s true, and they’re trying to work things out internally before revealing anything.

Seri has been a long-time fan of Seventeen and, according to a fan that asked her in a videocall fansign, has favored Dino from the start. Dino, on the other hand, is an avid listener of TXT, sometimes bringing up how interesting their dances and concepts are.

Is this a budding friendship between people who admired each other as artists, or is it something more?

Studio Choom’s Artist of The Month: TXT’s Seri!

Seri will be having Studio Choom’s focus on her this month of April.

Studio Choom is known for being a dance centric channel, their first featuring idol group being Tomorrow by Together (TXT). Ever since Studio Choom launched their ‘Artist of the Month’ segment, many have been waiting for them to feature a member of TXT.

Now the time has come, and with the most unexpected member.

April’s feature Artist of the Month is none other than TXT’s very own official ending fairy, Yoon Seri.

Many were surprised at this announcement since Seri has been known to say her dancing isn’t up to par with her members, which is why she makes up for it in her facial expressions. As a former musical theatre actress, she definitely knows how to fit different situations.

Now, she decided to take upon a challenge and show off how much she improved after her years of training and years as a fully debuted idol.

{NOTICE} TXT’s Seri to Appear in ISAC 2021 Special Talk Show

February 2, 2021 || 6:00PM

“Idol Athletics Star Championships” (ISAC) is a sports event held twice a year where Kpop idol groups gather together and compete in different sports categories.

Due to the situation caused by the pandemic, it was revealed that “ISAC: Hall of Fame” would be airing instead of the usual ISAC. It features legendary idols who have participated as well as newer idols who have grown up while watching ISAC for the past decade.

To everyone’s surprise, it was announced that Tomorrow X Together’s Seri will be joining this lineup.

Tomorrow X Together have previously never joined any ISAC competitions in previous years, which caused rumors about MBC having a riff with Bighit, Tomorrow X Together’s company. But she has been seen visiting some of her friends in the last two ISACs held. This is why it was shocking to see Seri as part of the lineup.

We are looking forward to seeing what she has to share about the competitions and what it was like growing up watching them. Maybe she’ll reveal why TXT were never able to participate in ISAC.
