SEBASTIAN SALLOW is toxic as fuck. He thinks you're cheating on him the moment you say ‘hello’ to another guy. Hell, he even has his suspicions about your relationship with Ominis from time-to-time. This time it was because Leander asked you what the potions homework was. Sebastian had stalked you out of the classroom and pulled you into an empty broom cupboard, pressing your back against the wall, snarling at you. “What was it this time?” He snapped, arm closing you in against the wall.
You immediately knew what he was talking about and rolled your eyes. “He just asked me what the potions homework was.”
“Yeah, sure,” Sebastian scoffed as he rolled his eyes.
“I’m being serious Sebastian,” you said. Your voice held a stern tone hoping he would see how irrational he was being.
“So what? You were just talking to him?” He asked, voice sounding unconvinced.
“Yes!”
“Psht, sure, if that’s what you call your mouth around another man’s cock then that’s what it was,” Sebastian snapped.
You pushed him away from you lightly and growled. “Sebastian, you're being stupid. You’re with me all the time. Even if I wanted to cheat on you, which I don’t, I’d never have the time!”
Sebastian grinned at your statement and it seemed like you had actually gotten through to him without the usual huge argument. His hand cupped your chin and he pulled your face close to his. “You’re mine, sweetheart. You’ll do good to remember that.” Now it was your turn to scoff. You rolled your eyes as Sebastian pressed his lips to yours softly. “I only worry because I love you. I can’t lose you Y/N.”
“You will if you keep acting like this,” you whisper between his lips. You knew that wasn’t the case though. You had it down bad for the brown-haired Slytherin. He could ‘Crucio’ you out of anger and you’d still stay with him.
“I’m sorry,” he mumbled after a few moments.
“It’s okay Sebastian, but you can’t keep accusing me of cheating anytime another man looks at me,” you say seriously.
“Why don’t you let me show you just how sorry I am?” Sebastian smirks, grabbing your hand and leading you out of the broom closet and to the empty Slytherin dorm where he would show you just who you truly belong to.
Tumblr media
OMINIS GAUNT will just talk to you about it whenever he suspects that you might be cheating on him. He’s not as insecure as Sebastian and sometimes just needs reassurance that you love him and no one else. You’re sitting in Defence Against The Dark Arts when he grabs your hand and whispers in your ear. “You love me, right?”
You look at him with a shocked expression. Even though he couldn’t see you, you knew that he could sense your surprise. “Of course I do Ominis.”
“And you’d never cheat on me, right?”
“Where is all this coming from?” You ask, instead of answering his question. This makes the blonde raise an eyebrow and repeat his question.
“You’d never cheat on me, right?”
“Never!” You exclaim, squeezing his hand. “Where’s all this coming from?” You asked again.
“Just… I heard you and Sebastian whispering to each other this morning during breakfast and I suppose,” he let out a breathy sigh. “I suppose I just got a little insecure.”
You continue to squeeze his hand and smile at him softly. “We were talking about your birthday present,” you say. “I didn’t want you to hear what I’ve got you. That’s all.”
“Do you promise?”
“I promise,” you said, linking your pinky finger with his. This seemed to satisfy Ominis, who leaned his head into your shoulder and hummed with approval.
Tumblr media
GARRETH WEASLEY constantly watches the way Sebastian is around you and always thinks something is going on between the two of you, but he’s not as toxic as Sebastian is. He will make jokes about it, but sometimes he can get really insecure. The two of you were fighting when this recent comment left his lips and as soon as he said it, he regretted it. “Well why don’t you tell your boyfriend Sebastian all about it!” Garreth shouted, throwing his hands up in the air. Your eyes widened at his comment, and you were slightly hurt.
“What is that supposed to mean?” You asked, narrowing your eyebrows.
Garreth didn’t want to admit he was in the wrong, so he continued to dig his own grave. “You heard me. Why don’t you tell your boyfriend all about it.”
“He’s just a friend, you know that Garreth. We’ve been over this numerous times.”
“He looks at you like a lovesick puppy!” Garreth retorted.
“And I look at you like a lovesick puppy. Garreth, so what if he does? I’m in love with you, not him.”
“I don’t know that,” he pouted, calming down slightly at your words.
You let out an exasperated sigh and sat down next to him on his bed, placing a hand on his thigh. “Listen, Garreth. I understand you get jealous, or insecure, whatever it is but there’s no need to throw a friendship in my face.”
It was Garreth’s turn to sigh next as he realised how stupid he was being. “Yeah. I suppose you're right.”
“I’m sorry… What was that?” You asked, placing your hand by your ear.
Garreth grinned at your joking demeanour. Even when you were arguing you would still attempt to joke with him. “Shut up.”
“No seriously. You said I was what? Right?”
Garreth pushed you on the shoulder lightly until you fell back on to his bed. He quickly climbed on top of you and pressed soft kisses to your neck. “Yes. Yes. You’re right. I’m sorry.”
“You are forgiven,” you smile, a soft gasp leaving your lips as his cold lips touch your warm neck. He certainly showed you how sorry he was that night.
Tumblr media
LEANDER PREWETT thinks something’s going on between you and Amit. When Amit invites you to look at the stars with him, or study, Leander puts his foot down. “No way. It’s a date. You’re my partner, not his.”
“Leander,” you hissed at him.
“What? No. I’m not having it.”
“It’s just a study session,” you reply sternly.
“So you want to go? You want to leave me and be with him instead? I knew something was going on with you two, I just knew it.”
“Woah!” You exclaimed, holding your hands up in the air defensively. “What do you mean? Leander, what’s going on?”
“You heard me,” he frowned, eyebrows pronounced.
“Yeah, but I thought I heard you insinuating that I was cheating on you?” You asked rhetorically. Leander just rolled his eyes and continued to flick through his potions book on his bed.
“If you wanna be with him so badly then just break up with me for fucks sake,” Leander snapped, causing you to wince at his sudden harshness.
“Leander… I don’t want to break up with you at all.”
He raised an eyebrow. You had clearly caught his attention now. He closed his potions book with a thud and looked at you in disbelief. “You don’t?”
“If I didn’t want to be with you, I wouldn’t be with you.”
It was then that he realised he was being irrational and immediately pulled you into a bone crushing hug. “I’m so sorry. I don’t know what came over me.” You gulped back tears and nodded. It wasn’t like Leander to snap at you like that, ever. Even when he was angry, he would always talk it out with you first, but when it came to other men or the possibility of you cheating on him he acted first and thought about it later. “Can you forgive me?”
You hesitated but replied, “of course I can. You just need to stop thinking I’m cheating on you whenever I hang out with somebody else. Leander, I’m not that type of person.”
“I know. I know. I’m sorry.” He pulled you closer to his body and pushed you down until you were laying on his bed. His body was pressed up against yours as he stroked your hair gently, almost soothingly. “It won’t happen again.”
“Won’t it?” You asked hopefully, even though you didn’t believe it. Leander nodded and kissed your cheek.
“I love you.”
“I love you too, you idiot.”
Tumblr media
AMIT THAKKAR hates the way Garreth always jokes with you and attempts to get you in on his little schemes, so much so that he thinks that you’re actually cheating on him with Garreth. One day, while you’re studying astronomy together, Garreth approaches you with a cheeky grin on his face. “Guess what I did Y/N?” Garreth said, half-singing his words.
“Y/N doesn’t care,” Amit snapped at Garreth, causing the ginger to retreat back into the shadows from where he came. You stared at Amit, completely confused at his sudden outburst.
“What was all that about?” You asked softly, placing a hand on his arm.
“You’re cheating on me aren’t you? With him!” Amit accused you immediately. You sat back in your chair out of complete shock and just blinked at him. You couldn’t even justify him with an answer, but this only raised his suspicions even more. “Well?”
You could only cry out, “no!”
Amit looked slightly puzzled, as if he wasn’t expecting that answer. “You’re not?” He asked.
“You’re really asking me that?” You snapped, feeling your blood boil with anger. How dare he accuse you like that, especially with no evidence! Amit opened his mouth to speak but you interrupted him. “You don’t get to speak right now Amit. Who do you think I am? Some whore for the whole of Hogwarts to enjoy?”
“Well no-”
“Then why on earth do you think I’d be cheating on you?” You snapped, eyes burning a hole into his.
“It’s just the way he acts around you… Always bringing you in on his little pranks and joking around with you like you’re best friends.”
“We are friends. Not best friends, but we are friends,” you said sternly. “Amit, I’m allowed to have guy friends. Just like you’re allowed to have girl friends. If you don’t trust me, what’s the point in this relationship?”
“I do trust you!” He managed to rush out even though you assumed he was lying. “I don’t know what came over me. I guess I was just jealous and well, fed up of him coming on to you.”
“Next time you feel like this, just talk to me instead of blowing up at my friends,” you say. “Having doubts and worries is normal, but accusing me out of the blue isn’t.” Amit nodded at your reply and looked down at his book somewhat ashamed of himself.
After a few moments of silent studying, Amit finally spoke up again. “Y/N, I’m sorry. I hope you can forgive me.”
You wrapped your arm around his waist and pulled him closer to you. “Of course I can forgive you, but only if you promise me not to act this way again.”
“I promise,” he said, holding his pinky out for you to wrap yours around. You did so and smiled lovingly at him before continuing on with your studies.

how i imagine sebastian and his emotional support hufflepuff:
(also why is he doing the rock’s eyebrows 😭)
Tumblr media
hufflepuff stands for fluff, fight me (jkjk)
it is no surprise that you, a hufflepuff, got adopted by a young slytherin boy
every slytherin needs an emotional support hufflepuff, am i right?
it was a stormy night for students in hogwarts, and sebastian wasn’t having the best time, to be honest
walking around the castle before curfew is just the right thing to calm his mind…unless, he was met with a new problem
“why can’t this- work-“
“what are you doing?” sebastian appeared out of nowhere from the dark. glancing over your shoulder, he met with your enemy.
“erm- just trying to get a look of the stars tonight, astronomy class is trying to kill me,” you huffed as your telescope was placed on the table.
“you know that the storm isn’t going to make it better, right?” he shifted his weight onto one feet, resting his shoulder against the wall.
“i know, i just- it’s due tomorrow,” you sighed.
“let me help you, i know a spot,” he shuffled onto his feet.
“c’mon, m’ not gonna kill you, i am not that type of slytherin.”
“as if…led the way, please”
to say that sebastian adopted you from then on isn’t quite much of a lie
ominis noticed your presence from that day, he can feel that sebastian is bringing you around more often.
he wasn’t the biggest fan of strangers but you are someone special for his best friend, he knows that.
wandering around he castle has never been so entertaining before you met these two
of course, you are like the “mother” to the group
y/n: sebastian, no
sebastian: sebastian, yes
he loves loves loves love taking you out for some butterbeer
“you’ve got a foam on your lips,” he chuckled as he almost choked on his butterbeer.
“hey- that’s the secret to enjoying a butterbeer,” you huffed.
“fine, fine, just let me-“ he reached a hand out to wipe a foam off your lips.
“…thanks”
“a single mom who works two job-“ jk 💀
caring for them is the best thing in your life but also an tiring thing to do
feeding them, packing their bags, and definitely making sure sebastian have enough sleep.
“please, sebastian, when was the last time you’ve gotten enough sleep?”
“i dunno, like last five years?”
“c’mon,” you held out your hand as you dragged towards a discreet place in the library. setting him down, you patted your boy on a couch with all of the pillows you could find around there. “sleep tight, you need it,” you smiled.
“it’s just six o’clock,” he yawned.
“yes, it is, I’ll just be reading right there, a nap won’t hurt anything,” you ruffled his hair up as his eyelid fluttered.
of course, you can’t get in their common room. unless…
yes, sebastian broke you in (and yes, everybody knows you are the certified hufflepuff)
“are you sure this is a- good idea?”
“of course, it is always a good idea if you have me,” he chuckled as he lead your way down the slytherin dungeon. “aspiration…”
the empty brick wall suddenly shook and a slythering sensation turned into a shiny silver serpent. climbing up the wall, it reveals a hidden dark door, opening at your gaze.
“c’mon, go on,” he held your hands and dragged you in.
always caring for them, checked. even if it means one of those late nights, working on an assignment.
“you’ve got your notes and parchments?” you looked at them.
“yep” “yeah”
“and your inks?”
“…”
“c’mon, stop forgetting them, please,” you moved skillfully around the mess to put their inks in their bags.
“thanks, y/n”
of course, they are there when you needed them as well.
if you need a help jinxing someone, you know who to call
no one, i repeat, NO ONE. will treat you the wrong way (ahem, especially sebastian)
“her name is Persephoney,” a jacked headed slytherin stuck his tongue out at you and poppy.
“shut it, or you will regret it, perhaps you don’t mind if I just pulled your hair like…that?” you snickered back.
“what could a hufflepuff like you do? run along and tell the professor?”
“she could and do something much worse, be greatful for that,” sebastian backed you up, reaching a hand to rest on your shoulder. “now, back up.”
“ah, if it isn’t the charming slytherin, got into one of those hufflepuff’s jinx? how disgraceful,” he chuckled.
“at least she knows that a beast worth much more than an empty minded person, back up.”
“fine…let’s go,” without a second look, the slytherin was out of sight.
“you alright? poppy?”
“thanks”
“thank you, sebastian, he better know that us, hufflepuff, can do something far worst. we just have the decency to hold it back,” poppy giggled.
“yep, i know you lots can do unimaginable damages”
and you know i like to end it with a heartwarming great hall imagines
the great hall is buzzing with many students and delicious foods. but sebastian’s eyes will always find their ways wandering around the black and yellow table.
but finding you in one of them, comes as easy to him as breathing a fresh air into his system.

Two is Better Than One [S.S.] & [O.G.]
Pairing: Ominis Gaunt x Sebastian Sallow x GN Reader Summary: When you smell two unique scents in the Amortentia Potion, you wonder how you'll ever be able to decide between the two. But maybe you don't have to. A/N: Requested by nikathingz! I have two nostrils, one for each scent and I'll be putting them to good use.
Tumblr media
Professor Sharp stood at the front of the classroom, a twinkle in his eye as he surveyed the eager faces of his students. "Today, we will be learning about one of the most powerful potions in existence," he announced. "The Amortentia Potion."
Everyone murmured excitedly, leaning forward in their seats as Professor Sharp began to explain the properties of the potion. You were equally as excited, after all this was the famed "love potion". "As you all know, the Amortentia Potion is a powerful love potion that produces a scent unique to each person who smells it," he said. "It's important to remember that this potion is not to be taken lightly, and can be dangerous if misused."
You listened intently as Professor Sharp described the ingredients and the brewing process for the Amortentia Potion. Your curiosity growing, what would you smell you wondered? You spotted movement out of the corner in your eye and turned to look at one of your desk partners. Sebastian Sallow, notorious troublemaking student and an incorrigible flirt. The two of you and Ominis Gaunt who was seated to your left had been friends for years at this point. They're both handsome in their own way, Sebastian had this youthful charm to him while Ominis was more refined and cold.
You admired Sebastian's skill and determination, and the way his eyes lit up when he talked about another late night trip down to the library or recounted one of his many duelling feats. But there was something about Omnis that intrigued you too, he might have seemed colder at first but he was probably one of the funniest people you knew. Always ready with a quick retort whenever the two of you banter.
Professor Sharp's voice drew you out of your reverie. "I'll demonstrate to you all the brewing process." He said, carefully measuring out the ingredients and explaining the steps as he went. Everyone watched in awe as the potion began to take shape, a shimmering pearlescent liquid that everyone was leaning forward to get a better look at. You could hear people whispering behind your back, wondering if they would get a chance to smell it.
"Now, who would like to volunteer to smell the potion and describe the scent?" Professor Sharp asked.
Several hands shot up, and the professor selected a Hufflepuff student named Lenora. She approached the potion with trepidation, inhaling deeply as she took in the scent.
"It smells like…old books and metal," she said, her eyes widening in surprise. "And there's something else…I can't quite put my finger on it."
Professor Sharp nodded approvingly. "Very good, Lenora. 10 points for Hufflepuff. That's exactly the kind of response we're looking for. Remember, the scent of the Amortentia Potion is different for everyone, depending on what they find most attractive."
The rest of the class took turns smelling the potion, each one describing a unique and intoxicating aroma. The air was thick with excitement and anticipation. As Ominis was sat to your left, when the potion came around, he would be the first to have a go between the three of you.
Finally, it was your turn. You took a deep breath and leaned over the potion, inhaling deeply. As you did, a rush of sensations flooded over you. You smelled the sweetness of cinnamon and vanilla, but there was something else too. A hint of musky scent that was familiar, yet foreign at the same time.
You looked around the room, trying to find the source of the scent. And that's when you saw him. Sebastian Sallow, sitting only to your right, his eyes fixed on you. Suddenly, everything made sense. You had always been drawn to him, and now you knew why. You were in love with him.
But as you turned to ask Ominis what he smelled, you caught a whiff of a new scent in the potion. It was his scent. While different from Sebastian's, it was equally as alluring. It was the scent of freshly cut wood, mixed with a subtle hint of cologne and was.. that peppermint? Your heart skipped a beat as you realized that you were in love with him too. But this was a rare case, normally people only smelled one scent belong to one person. You smelled two unique scents in that potion.
You looked back and forth between Sebastian and Ominis, feeling torn. How could you choose between them? They were both so different, yet both equally amazing in their own ways. Ominis was still staring off looking contemplative but as if sensing your eyes, he looked in your direction.
"Is everything alright?" he asked, his voice low.
You hesitated, unsure of what to say. How could you possibly explain what you had just realized? But before you could respond, the bell rang, signalling the end of class.
"Alright everyone, that's all for today. You're dismissed!" Professor Sharp said, breaking you out of your thoughts.
You gathered your things, still feeling a bit dazed from the experience. As you walked out of the classroom, Sebastian and Ominis fell into step beside you, both looking at you expectantly.
"So, what did you smell?" Sebastian asked, grinning.
You looked at him, then at Ominis, and finally back at Sebastian. "I smelled cinnamon, vanilla, freshly cut wood…and cologne," you said, trying to keep your voice steady.
Sebastian's grin widened. "Interesting. I smelled cologne and wood too, but also a hint of [your favourite shampoo scent]."
Ominis stayed quiet, but you all continued walking in silence for a few moments, he spoke up. "I smelled vanilla, cinnamon and [your favourite shampoo scent]."
Silence once again engulfed the three of you as you all took time to process this new information. You couldn't help but feel like everything had changed.
"I don't know what to do," you admitted, feeling lost. "I don't want to hurt either of you." How could you possibly choose between two people that you cared about so deeply? It didn't seem fair to either of them.
"What if... you don't have to?" Sebastian said cautiously. "I mean I'll just come out and address the troll in the room since none of us want to say it out loud. We all smelled each other in that potion, didn't we."
"We did." Ominis replied, understanding where Sebastian was going. He made a move as if to reach for your hand and you met him halfway before grabbing Sebastian's hand too.
"3 people dating each other? This is really going to piss off the Gaunts." You said feeling laughter bubble up inside you.
"An unexpected perk." said Ominis, his lips forming a small, but fond smile.
Sebastian look at you both with obvious affection in his eyes, glad you were all on board with the idea.
And as you felt the warmth from both the boys beside you, you knew this is where you belonged. Where the three of you belonged. In each other's arms.

Jealousy || Ominis Gaunt
Tumblr media
Synopsis - Ominis gets jealous of your relationship with Sebastian and begins to avoid you. When you pull him up on his avoidance, Ominis has to come clean about his jealousy.
Warnings - SFW. Swearing, mentions of potential Sebastian x Reader.
Tumblr media
Ominis Gaunt rarely got jealous. He found the whole jealousy thing rather immature and pathetic. It was something he had never quite fully understood. That was, until he met you.
Although he couldn't see you, you introduced yourself with a smile on your lips. Ominis could tell you were smiling from the inflections in your voice and it made his heart race. Your voice was like honey to him, so sweet and dripping with a kindness he wasn't used too. He was enraptured. You quickly became friends with Ominis and he introduced you to his best friend Sebastian Sallow. Ominis didn't know, at this point, that Sebastian would be the source of his jealousy.
As the weeks flew by, you became closer with Sebastian. Ominis stood on the metaphorical sidelines and watched as a relationship blossomed between the two of you. Ominis didn't care whether the relationship was platonic or romantic, but what he did care about was the jealousy that began to bubble in his gut whenever he thought about Sebastian placing his hands on you in any way shape or form. The fact Ominis was blind didn't help his newfound jealousy either. He couldn't see what you and Sebastian were doing in the halls. Were you holding hands or simply just walking side-by-side? These were things that kept Ominis up at night when he lay in his bed facing the ceiling, tossing and turning.
When Ominis was on his way to the Undercroft to meet Sebastian, he heard someone coming out of the entrance. "Who's there?" he asked. His wand was by his side, out to guide him.
"Ominis, it's me," you squeaked. You were glad Ominis couldn't see you as you currently looked like a deer caught in headlights. Your eyes were wide and you were frozen in place, after all, Sebastian had asked you not to tell Ominis that you knew about the Undercroft.
"What are you doing here?" Ominis asked as he raised an eyebrow in your direction.
"I erm..." you scratched the back of your neck awkwardly as you tried to think of an excuse as to what you were doing in this remote corner of Hogwarts but nothing came to you.
"Sebastian told you didn't he?"
Whether you lied to Ominis or not was something you had to think of on the spot, but while you were talking Ominis was fuming. Not because Sebastian told you about the Undercroft, but because you were in there with him alone away from prying eyes. Ominis stormed off into the Undercroft, no doubt to give Sebastian a piece of his mind as you walked in the opposite direction. You looked over your shoulder as Ominis entered the Undercroft and sighed.
"What were you doing in here with Y/N?" Ominis snapped to Sebastian who simply looked at his friend in confusion.
"What do you mean?"
"Don't fucking act dumb with me Sebastian," Ominis said as he flailed his hands in the air. "I heard her coming out of the Undercroft. What were you doing in here?"
"We were just practicing spells Ominis," Sebastian said, attempting to calm down his friend. "Wait a second."
"What?" Ominis growled, snapping his head in Sebastian's direction.
"You like her," Sebastian grinned.
"No I don't," Ominis denied and rather poorly at that. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"You like Y/N," Sebastian repeated walking over to his friend and poking his chest teasingly. "It all makes sense now! You're actually jealous."
Ominis didn't know what to say. He wasn't very good at lying, especially not to his best friend. He knew Sebastian would see right through his lies. "I..." Ominis started, opening his mouth to continue speaking but shutting it quickly when he realised he was unsure of what to say.
"It's okay Ominis," Sebastian said, walking over to his friend and placing a hand on his shoulder comfortingly. "I won't tell."
"You better not tell a soul," Ominis threatened, his eyebrows creasing as his eyes narrowed.
"I won't I won't," Sebastian repeated, holding his hands up and walking off, leaving Ominis alone in the Undercroft.
From that day on, Ominis attempted to keep his distance from you. He hated feeling childish when that jealousy once again bubbled in his gut as he heard you and Sebastian chatting throughout lessons. It should be him you were chatting and laughing with, not Sebastian. Ominis couldn't help but sigh as he let his mind wonder.
When you noticed Ominis was avoiding you, you were confused. So much so, you told Sebastian to head on without you after class and explained you were going to talk with Ominis. Sebastian just smirked at you and left the classroom without saying goodbye. "Ominis?" you asked, walking over to the boy.
His head turned in the direction of your voice and he sighed. "Hello Y/N."
"What's with the sigh?" you asked as you looked him up and down. Ominis just shrugged and you realised you weren't getting an answer. You couldn't help but feel slightly offended. "What's going on?"
"What do you mean?" Ominis asked. The boy took his wand out of his robe as he prepared to leave class.
"Well," you coughed nervously and played with your fingers as you continued to talk. "You've bee ignoring me for a few weeks now. I wanted to know, have I done something wrong?" Ominis shook his head in response and began to walk out of the classroom to escape the conversation, but you were hot on his tail. "Ominis!"
"What?" he snapped, stopping in his tracks.
"Have I done something wrong?" you asked again. This time in a more serious tone to let him know your patience was wearing thin.
"No!" Ominis said as he turned to face you.
"Then why are you ignoring me?" You cried. Tears were threatening to spill from your eyes now and you were causing a scene in the hallways. Ominis didn't have to see to know that people were staring, he could feel their eyes on the two of you.
"Look," Ominis whispered. "I don't want to talk right now."
"But why?" you stressed. You grabbed his free hand and gave it a squeeze. "What have I done?"
It was time to tell you the truth, he couldn't have you thinking you had done something wrong and it was clearly playing on your mind. "You haven't done anything wrong Y/N."
"Then why are you ignoring me?" you asked again.
Ominis sighed once more but this time, shakily. He leaned in to your ear and whispered, "I'm jealous."
You blinked at him. Jealous? Ominis was jealous? "Jealous?" you asked with a hiss. "Of what?"
"Of... Sebastian," Ominis whispered hesitantly.
You took a step back, still holding his hand. "Why Sebastian?" The pieces just weren't clicking with you, you couldn't understand why Ominis was jealous.
"You're really making me say this?"
"Say what?" you asked, completely confused at this point.
"Y/N..." Ominis started. It was his turn to squeeze your hand now. "I like you, a lot." Your mouth hung open and you stayed silent, processing the words. Ominis shifted awkwardly. The silence was deafening. "Say something..." he begged.
"Ominis," you whispered, eyes still wide. You were shocked to say the least. "You like me?" The mousy-brown haired boy nodded shyly and dropped his head to the floor. "I like you too!"
"You do?" his head snapped up to face yours.
"Yes!" you shrieked. Your tear-stained face lit up with a smile. "But why were you jealous of Sebastian?"
Ominis kicked his feet on the floor awkwardly. He was ashamed to admit that he was jealous, especially of his best friend. "I just was."
You let go of Ominis' hand and wrapped your arms around his neck. His eyes went wide but his body relaxed into your touch. "You don't need to be jealous of Sebastian, Ominis."
"I don't?" he asked, wrapping his own arms around your waist to hug you. He nuzzled his face into your neck and inhaled your scent. You shook your head 'no' and smiled as his breath hit the side of your neck. "Thank you Y/N."
"You don't need to thank me," you whispered to him. The onlooking students had gone about their business once again, ignoring you and Ominis in the middle of the hallway just holding each other.
"Can I... Can I kiss you?" he asked shyly, pulling away from your neck. You didn't answer, instead pressing your lips against his soft lips. It was everything you had ever dreamed about. His lips glided across yours with ease as the kiss deepened. When you pulled away, you stared into his eyes wishing he could see the smile on your face right now. "I'm sorry I avoided you Y/N."
"It's okay Ominis," you said. "Next time you get jealous, just tell me, okay?"
The boy nodded and the pair of you walked down the halls hand-in-hand to the Undercroft where you met up with Sebastian to tell him about your newfound relationship.

Summary:
“And why didn’t you think to tell me that you were struck by a bloody unforgivable curse before you fell lifelessly onto the fucking floor!” He yelled. She winced at the loudness of his voice.  “Do you have any idea what it’s like to watch the love of your life almost die in your fucking arms?” His deafening voice echoed through the chambers of the hospital wing.  She stared at him, mouth agape.  Sorry, was she dreaming? What was that he just said?
It takes a disaster
When she first resigned to the pitiful fact that she was very likely in love with Sebastian Sallow, she accepted her fate. Doomed to suffer in an unrequited love she held for her best friend.
Merlin, it was such a cliché.
Honestly, she would have laughed at herself if it didn’t also feel so pathetically miserable.
Somewhere along the way, amid catacombs and restricted sections and ancient relics, she found herself becoming dissatisfied with just friendship. And before she could even catch herself, she had already fallen. Buried ten feet underground by the weight of her own despicable, cavernous feelings.
Because they’d been best friends for long enough for her to know that Sebastian Sallow flirted like his livelihood depended on it. If courting witches was a sport, he’d be a professional. It came to him as naturally as breathing.
That was why Cressida Blume battered her eyelashes so feverishly everytime he was near. And why Samantha Dale had been so Goddamn adamant on being her potions partner, so she could siphon hints on how best to charm the Slytherin for herself.
And why she would never entertain the idea that any of Sebastian’s pretty words could be anything more than lip service.
So she went out of her way to find reasons to keep herself busy. Taking jobs and doing favours for townsfolk in the vicinity, so that she wouldn’t have to sit with her own feelings. Or Sebastian himself. Hoping that by the time it came for them to leave Hogwarts, that she would find peace and leave her feelings for him in the deepest depths of the castle.
The distance would help. It just had to.
Unfortunately for her, when she had said that she was heading to the poacher camp up in the Poidsear coast by her lonesome, Sebastian insisted that he absolutely had to come along.
“Don’t be daft. Of course I have to come with you. Who else is going to swoop in when your sorry arse needs saving?” He teased.
She was almost offended, “I don’t need a babysitter, Sebastian.”
“Not a babysitter,” he clarified, “A knight in shining armor,” with a dashingly flirtatious smile.
She felt her heart flutter, and cursed his annoyingly perfect fluffy hair for it. What business did it have looking so attractive? Honestly, the cheek of these Slytherin boys to say such rousing things.
Ominis, Sebastian and herself had been lazing in the grass in front of the main school grounds. But with a deft wave of his hand Seastian beckoned over his broom, and it zipped obediently over.
“Come on. Let’s go.” Sebastian said easily.
“What? Right now?” She replied in disbelief.
“Well, I don’t see anything better to do. Do you?”
From beside him, Ominis piped up annoyed, “Um, excuse me. Did we not agree that we needed to finish our group project today so as to not suffer the wrath of Sharp’s horrid temper?”
Silently, she thanked Ominis for the diversion and prayed Sebastian would take it.
“Like I said. Nothing better to do.” Sebastian reiterated shamelessly.
Ominis rolled his eyes, “Absolute moron you are. Whatever. Take him off my hands for all I care.”
Well that didn’t go at all the way she hoped.
“But I’ve… not even stocked up on my potions.” She said weakly.
Sebastian wasn’t having it.
“Come on, it’s just a routine poacher clear out! I’ve got a couple of Wiggenwelds on me. You know it’s going to be a cakewalk for the both of us.”
She could never say no to him. Not when he looked at her like that. She imagined that most girls couldn’t either. An ugly, decrepit feeling bubbled up in the pit of her stomach. But she willed herself to push the unhelpful thought down and out of sight.
“Fine.” She caved with a haughty flip of her hair, “But try to keep up. I don’t want to have to take care of you out there.”
In a ridiculously exaggerated display of chivalry, he offered her his hand and led her onto the broom with a coy smile.
“Ladies first.”
This boy was going to be the death of her. The ride to Poidsear would all but confirm that.
Sebastian had insisted that she sit in front of him to steer — and for the life of her, she couldn’t understand how she had willingly agreed to put herself in this position. His breath was right in the crook of her neck, and his warm hands were wrapped all too tightly around her waist. Did he really think that she could steer like this? She was appalled at how totally inconsiderate he was by being so oblivious to her feelings.
She could hardly hear her own thoughts — not even the intrusive ones — let alone focus on the fly.
Was he doing this on purpose? Because it was annoying.
The singularly, most vexing thing he could do in fact. She had a mission to concentrate on. She didn’t need to be sidetracked. She hadn’t even wanted him and his distracting face to come along in the first place.
“Merlin. Hold me any tighter and I might burst, Sebastian.” She tried her best to make it sound casual. With the light cadence of a joke, and not the high stakes affair it felt like.
“Well, I can’t risk having you falling to an untimely death under my watch. I’d never hear the end of it from Ominis. Or Samantha. For killing her potions partner at such a crucial time in the academic year,” He joked.
His tone was teasing, but she hated that his words sounded so… carefree. Completely unbothered. It bruised her heart more than she liked to admit, but it hurt her to know that he probably thought that this was the same as being in close proximity to Anne.
And why the bloody hell did he have to mention Samantha Dale at a time like this? Unprompted and all. Teenage boys really had no tact. If that had been a glimpse into Sebastian’s mind, she didn’t want to see it. Lock it up and throw away the keys and unleash it into the depths of the black sea to never be found.
If she just ignored it, and never faced it head on, maybe her heart would break a little bit softer.
“Right.” She replied curtly, willing the dejection she felt to go away.
“What? Did I say something wrong?”
“No.”
He paused in contemplation, before declaring, “You’re upset.”
He had said it so matter of factly she almost couldn’t disagree with him. Almost. She cursed herself for not being able to hide the bitterness in her voice better. She cursed him for noticing this of all things.
“Don’t be silly. I’m not.” She retorted harshly.
When the words left her mouth, she quickly regretted them. She felt guilty for how unnecessarily rude it sounded. But she couldn’t talk about this. There was objectively no good way to explain why she seemed so irrationally bothered without emotionally vomiting her feelings onto him.
But before she could apologise, he chose to let it go.
And she didn’t know if she felt relieved or even more devastated.
The rest of their journey to Poidsear was endured in silence. When they finally arrived, they landed just at the precipice of the poacher camp. It was time to get serious, she mentally chided herself. There was simply no time to torment herself with such frivolous nonsense.
They kept out of sight behind a mountain of crates next to a tent. Making sure to stay hidden, she briskly surveyed the scene. She could see from the corner of her eye, a family of hippogriffs chained in cages by the Eastern front. But getting to them would be no easy feat; the area was littered with Ashwinders at every corner.
“God. There’s more of them than I thought.” She whispered to herself.
“Worried? How very unlike you.” Sebastian raised a brow in response.
“Not at all. It’s just you would think that these degenerates would have more productive things to do with themselves than taking magical creatures as prisoners.” She whispered with a scoff.
She had not even one ounce of respect for the Ashwinders, especially those of the poaching variety. Those who made a nefarious career out of hunting innocent, majestic creatures for blood sport were the worst of them.
To her surprise, when she turned to look at Sebastian, he was looking straight at her with an enigmatic smile.
And then suddenly, she felt self-conscious.
“What?” She whispered nervously.
Sebastian murmured warmly, “This is a little nostalgic is it not?”
“How so?”
“You. Me. The exhilarating thrill of getting caught at any moment. Feels like fifth year doesn’t it?” His voice was lower than usual, quieter, with a hint of something dastardly alluring.
It made her heart skip an alarming amount of beats and her skin shiver at the sound of it. She felt an outrageously girlish impulse to snog him and hex him and run far, far away from him all at once. What she would give for him to have a taste of his own medicine. Even if he wasn’t in love with her, maybe she still could grab him by the collar and kiss him silly until his lips were bruised.
Maybe that would finally fluster him.
Because by God, he deserved to be put in his place for all the bloody grief he unknowingly gave her.
He was looking at her so affectionately, and that was just so uncalled for. Honestly, she didn’t know how he managed to flirt so skilfully even in the face of imminent danger. In the near vicinity of bloodthirsty dark wizards. If she wasn’t so conflicted by it all she would be impressed. She imagined that Sebastian Sallow could probably flirt with Death himself and get away with it.
Perhaps that would be a rather useful quality in an Auror. Perhaps, when they were back in the safety of the castle, she would suggest it as a fitting career path for him—
“Look what we have here. A little far from Hogwarts aren’t we?”
She felt her blood freeze over at the sound of the new voice. Sebastian stiffened. A sinister chill ran up her spine.
When she turned, she was greeted by the menacing smile of an Ashwinder, cloaked in shadows. And almost as if the Hermes had struck her himself, the girl wonder retaliated at reckless speeds and pointed her wand with venomous hostility at the dark wizard in front of them.
Fuck. She cursed internally. Her guard had been irresponsibly down. She hadn’t even heard him approach them.
Sebastian probably sensed her panic, and squeezed her hand twice.
Once to comfort her, the second to ask her to follow his lead.
Raising his hands up in mock surrender, Sebastian said sardonically with a wry smile “Sir, we were just passing by the area. We didn’t know that this was private property. Terribly sorry for the intrusion. If you allow us, we’ll be on our way now.”
The Ashwinder scoffed, “Save it kid, I know exactly who you two meddlesome brats are.”
“Oh well that’s unfortunate.” Sebastian said patronisingly.
Her grip on her wand tightened. She wasn’t entirely sure where he was going with this, but she knew that she had to be ready.
“Why’s that?” The Ashwinder asked with a laugh.
“Because that means I have to do this.”
And suddenly, with a swift motion, Sebastian lunged forward with his wand. And almost as if by blind, brazen instinct, her own hands followed suit.
“Confringo!”
“Expelliarmus!”
“Protego!”
Red, green, and blue. The colours of their spells cackled at lightning speeds against the howling wind.
But soon enough their commotion caused a ruckus, and it became an army against two measly bodies.
“Shit!” Sebastian cursed under his breath.
And frankly, she had to give it to them to their credit, these Ashwinders proved to be pretty formidable adversaries. They moved faster than the others did. And their spells missed her more narrowly than they normally did. But still, actually hitting her was the aim. Close enough wasn’t good enough, and she was determined to make sure that they would never achieve it.
She’d make sure of it — they didn’t call her the girl wonder for nothing.
Spells collided and echoed around her, the acrid scent of fire filling her nostrils. If peril were a smell, this is what she imagined that it would smell like.
And in the midst of the chaos, without a surge of power erupted from one of the Ashwinders. Like a strike straight out of God’s hand — with a single, severe flash of light — a calamitous spell was unleashed, enveloping the camp grounds in a sheathe of blinding white.
And when the light became less blinding, she found herself separated from Sebastian.
Panic welled up within her as she searched the battlefield, her heart pounding in her chest.
"Sebastian!" She called out.
Where was Sebastian?
Fuck. That wasn’t good. She needed to find Sebastian.
Like insidious tendril vines, fear crept into her veins. Yet she willed the anxiousness in her brain to focus; willed it to calm down. Sebastian was a capable wizard. He could handle a few pesky Ashwinders.
Just as capable as she was.
Because with a flick of her wrist, shields shattered and hexes were deflected. With every spell she cast, the wind sang as her curses hit bodies, like a force of nature answering her call. One by one Ashwinders fell under the weight of her unyielding assault.
But then a piercing hex sliced right through her defences.
Her protego shattered, and she was thrown backward into a mess of limbs onto the ground.
“Crucio!”
The sound of the spell sent chills down her spine. It brought her back to the scriptorium. It brought her back to a shadow of Sebastian that she had been trying to forget.
But before she could run, scream, dive or react — it reached her.
And just as torturously as it had the very first time she endured it, pain erupted through her body as she was thrown backward, limbs contorting as she crumbled in agony onto gritty soil. Back then, it had felt as if lightning had struck every single nerve ending in her body. This time it felt like she was burning under a flame that was twice as brutal.
The pain was relentless. Her mind screamed for respite, for any brief release from this torture. She clawed at the ground, gripping her nails deep into the dirt, as if seeking solace in the earth itself. But there was no escape. No reprieve.
Through the haze of pain, she caught glimpses of the Ashwinder that had casted the curse. Even through her blurry vision, she could see that they were gloating. Content at how they had reduced her to nothing more than a writhing, broken vessel.
And God, that pissed her off immensely.
If they could sense the literal thunder in her veins, she wondered if they would be so cavalier?
She didn’t think so.
Through gritted teeth; through sheer determination, she struggled onto her feet with her body shaking in defiance. Summoned the last remnants of her ancient magic, her wand trembling in her shaky hand. A surge of energy flowed through her veins. The air above the tips of her fingers crackled with raw power as she channeled her magic, focusing it into a singularly devastating spell.
And when it hit the Ashwinder, it eviscerated them in waves.
In between all the fighting and screaming and surviving, she didn’t remember much of the details.
But all of a sudden, it was silent.
And all of the sudden, it was just her standing alone in plumes of dust.
When the air finally settled down, she felt herself start to cave. The adrenaline had done its job and was quickly leaking out of her blood stream. As if she had exerted and drained every last ounce of her spirit and was on the verge of collapse.
Was it just her, or were the skies starting to fade?
The pain in her chest was still excruciating. This cruciatus curse felt different from the one that Sebastian had casted on her before.
This one was lingering.
Like it was clawing onto her heart and gripping onto it in a chokehold with a resentful vengeance. Despite having just won, she didn’t have a spare moment to feel relieved. The pain was quickly growing and air couldn’t seem to reach her lungs fast enough.
But Sebastian… Where was Sebastian? The panic began to rumble within her. She had foolishly let her own guard down, and let him out of her sight. She mustered what little energy she had left and moved her head frantically in search of him.
How could she ever forgive herself if she let him die?
But when she saw a figure barreling head first towards her, even through blurry eyes and the crackle in the depths of her tired limbs, she knew that it was him. And like an oasis in the blistering desert, the comfort she felt from seeing his face was a brief solace to the pain.
If this was where she was destined to meet her end, she hazily deliberated, at least she could draw her last breath in peace knowing that he was safe.
(Not to be dramatic or anything.)
When Sebastian finally caught up to her, he laughed and bursted out breathily, “Merlin… Whatever you and your ancient magic did back there was insane.”
He was safe, and that was all that mattered. She didn’t have the energy anymore. Not for a conversation, let alone banter. She needed to preserve her last scraps of her battered stamina to make it back to the castle and patch herself up in solitude.
And one thing was for certain: Sebastian could not know.
“I think we managed pretty well.” He said with a tired smile.
“Yeah,” she replied breathily, “W-we did good.”
She sounded a mess. She hoped that he wouldn’t notice.
To her dismay, the look on his face immediately switched into that of deep concern.
He interrogated hurriedly, “What wrong? You sound a little off. Are you hurt?”
Everything was wrong. The discomfort that gripped her chest was getting worse with every passing second. Standing was starting to become too taxing of an undertaking for her.
But needless to say, she didn’t want another thing to worry about, and Sebastian would always make an unnecessarily big fuss anytime she was hurt. Even if it was just a minuscule scratch. He was always too distraught; too tender. It was one of the things she adored most about him.
And she absolutely loathed him for it.
So her stubbornness was persuaded that suffering in silence was the easier of two fates.
Indignantly, she retorted, “How rude. I’ll have you k-know I’m perfectly f-fine.”
Her words were starting to slur, not that she noticed. But Sebastian clearly had. Assertively, he grabbed her by the wrist and pulled her towards him.
“You’re not fine.” He declared demandingly.
As he frantically searched her eyes, arms, back, legs for signs of what was wrong, she found herself nuzzled in the nook of his chest. She felt her willpower wither slightly in his flustered hands.
In the shallow breaths that she took, she could smell him. The musk of pinewood and sputtering fireplaces and late nights drifting in the restricted section. An aromatic cocktail that was overwhelmingly intoxicating.
Now she was getting angry. And drowsy. And dizzy. Why couldn’t Sebastian tell that he was being so selfish by being so considerate? He needed to stop touching her so carelessly. She was lightheaded enough as it is, she didn’t need his excessive gentleness to add fuel to the flames of her absurd delusions.
But maybe if she just closed her eyes and rested for this brief moment. Sebastian would take the hint and just leave her be. Maybe all she needed was a quick lie down and he would see that she was perfectly fine.
“Oh fuck, there’s so much blood— hey, hey!”
She could see Sebastian calling out her name, but she couldn't hear it. And soon enough she realised, she wasn’t fighting it anymore. And soon enough, Sebastian was no longer in sight. Soon enough, she found herself alone in a quiet, soothing darkness.
Something was twisting at her to give into slumber. Into solitude. Into emptiness. She vaguely remembered from one of Sharp’s more riveting lectures that when poisoned - one should always fight the urge.
But she could still feel the warmth of Sebastian’s hands on the small of her back, and the comfort of it lulled her to relinquish control. After a few ambivalent moments, drifting in and out of awareness, she surrendered to sleep.
When she woke, she was greeted by a horrendously pounding headache. She had no sense of place, but a low groaning ache in her bones. Her eyes struggled to open, but she could feel the warm sun on the tip of her nose, and the tips of her cheeks. The softness of the sun quelled a little bit of the soreness in her body.
She deduced that wherever she was, it was warm and safe. Despite the ache in her bones, there was also a weightlessness to her body. Therefore, she somehow rationalised with herself that this was very likely heaven.
Or any other religious equivalent afterlife.
She wasn’t picky. Any one would do, really.
When her bleary eyes finally pulled themselves open, the fragmented parts of her vision pieced together a faint picture. Of pristine white linen and crisply casted grey brick. A peculiar blend of sickly artificial peonies and concentrated chemicals flooded her nostrils.
Which was odd. Because she hadn’t imagined that the afterlife would feel quite so sterile.
“Fucking hell,” spoke a voice she could never not recognise, and she was shocked.
Did heaven include conjuring up a phantom Sebastian from the figment of her deepest imaginations to keep her company for the rest of eternity?
“Sebastian?”
“You’re awake.” His voice was hoarse.
When her eyes finally focused, she saw him properly. It was definitely Sebastian Sallow, the boy that had her heart leaping acres across the Hebridean seas. But in all her years of knowing and pining for him, she’d never seen him look so terrible. His hair was disheveled as if it had endured a torrid storm. His eyes were heavy and solemn, as if they had tolerated an eternity of grief.
This seemed all too real. Too visceral.
Maybe this wasn’t heaven.
“Am I dead?” She thought to confirm.
He laughed a humourless laugh.
“No. You’re in the hospital wing.”
So this was real. She was in pain because her body had been bruised like a peach.
When she finally looked around, she found herself neatly tucked into the covers of an infirmary bed. She couldn’t recall how she got here, and only remembered a few little scraps of the event that led up to Poidsear. But if she had to be certain of anything, Sebastian must’ve brought her back to the castle.
“I guess that makes sense,” She said with as much mirth as she could muster, “Heaven couldn’t be this quaint.”
Clearly Sebastian hadn’t found it funny at all, which is why she was met with silence.
As she cleared her throat, she asked, “What happened?”
For some reason, Sebastian was doing everything in his power to avoid her eye.
“An Ashwinder hit you with a modified version of the cruciatus curse. She tampered the spell and combined it with a blood poisoning hex. You… could’ve died.” He said through gritted teeth. It seemed as if he struggled to even get the words out.
In an attempt to diffuse the graveness of his tone, she made a joke.
“Unlucky. Maybe next time they try to kill me they’ll actually get it right.”
But once again, Sebastian didn’t laugh. If anything, he only got more aggrieved. She felt his grip on the edge of her bed frame tighten so fiercely, she could see his veins pop and his knuckles turn red. He was being so serious — and she was not at all used to serious Sebastian. She had only seen this side of him once or twice, and only ever because of Anne.
“Are you … upset?” She asked cautiously.
“I’m fucking furious.” He said.
She was gobsmacked.
“Why?”
Finally, he looked at her straight on and her stomach flipped at the sight of it. He looked absolutely distraught. Like the splintered shell of a boy who had been cracked open and drained dry of his will to live. Behind the hard look in his eyes, radiated something cloudy, tempestuous and devastating.
“It was my fault that we were even there.” He said
She hadn’t known that a voice could carry such grief and anger simultaneously. But Sebastian’s voice was laced with insurmountable despair. And it broke her heart irrevocably to think that she could’ve caused him so much pain.
Did he think that he was to blame?
That was ridiculous.
“I thought-” he started to say again, but his voice cracked.
I thought I lost you? I thought I’d left you for dead? She wondered if that was what he was going to say.
“Sebastian…” She finally began “It’s not-”
“And why didn’t you think to tell me that you were struck by a bloody unforgivable curse before you fell lifelessly onto the fucking floor!” He yelled.
She winced at the loudness of his voice.
“I didn’t think-”
“Do you have any idea what it’s like to watch the love of your life almost die in your fucking arms?”
His deafening voice echoed through the chambers of the hospital wing.
She stared at him, mouth agape.
Sebastian himself looked shocked by the words out of his own mouth.
Sorry, what was that he just said?
Was she dreaming? Was she hallucinating? Had Sebastian Sallow really said that he loved her? Her? Complicated, chaotic, haphazard her? Even if her brain couldn’t quite process what she was saying, her heart had certainly understood. It was battering against her ribcage so firmly that she swore it would no sooner burst out of her chest.
“You… love me?” Even as the words sat in her mouth, even as she tasted it meticulously on the edge of her tongue — she still couldn’t believe them.
With his head buried in his hands, Sebastian groaned.
Obviously that wasn’t what he had wanted to say, and that terrified the living shit out of her. He looked as if he considered going back on it. Saying that it had just been an emotional slip of the tongue.
But to her surprise, he stood firm.
“Fuck.” He cursed, “Isn’t it fucking obvious?”
His words still weren’t fully sinking in. Her brain was running so fast that it was on the verge of failing her entirely. There were so many things she wanted to ask him. Was it obvious? To who exactly? By what egregious definition? And did he expect her to just take his word and say that this little detail was always hidden in plain sight for her to find?
Then there were other more intrusive thoughts she couldn’t shake. Like what about all the girls that fawned over his every word. What about all the other girls that were softer, prettier, more endearing than her? She just hoped that whatever she chose to say, that she wouldn’t let out the intrusive ones first.
“...What about Samantha?” She blurted practically incoherently.
Oh Merlin. Why did she say that? Why was that the first thing she said to him after she had just been on the verge of death? After he had just confessed his love for her.
Never had she felt so exasperated with herself for being so dumb.
Unsurprisingly, Sebastian looked at her as if she’d just grown three heads. She also considered that maybe she had enunciated so poorly that he hadn’t understood a single thing she said. Either way, just as she was about to laugh it away - change the subject - he responded.
“... What about Samantha?”
Suddenly, she felt too shy to ask. But she knew she had to follow through.
“... You’re not in love with Samantha?” She asked meekly.
Sebastian stared at her in absolute disbelief.
“Are you crazy?” he began incredulously, “You think I fancy Samantha Dale?”
It wasn’t that crazy of a thought, she wanted to retort.
But before she could even get a word in, Sebastian bulldozed on.
“Fucking hell. I think I’ve mentioned her name all but three times in the last six years I’ve been in this castle. All I talk about is you all day everyday, which makes Ominis go absolutely livid! All you have to do is say my name and I’d stop everything at the drop of a fucking hat to do literally anything you ask for me—”
Did he know what he was saying? She wanted to scream. The feelings in her chest were so intense she feared that she might just throw up.
Could he hear the absolutely ludicrous and inconceivable things coming out of his silly mouth? Did he know what in Salazar’s name he was saying to her?
And he wasn’t even done yet.
“—I look for you in every hallway, every classroom, every corner in this bloody castle! For Merlin’s sake, I can’t even begin to fathom how you could not know that I’m stupidly love with you—”
Despite herself. Despite the stabbing pain in her chest. Despite the stitches in her lungs. She lunged her body forward and pushed her own chapped, split and desperate lips onto his.
And when their lips met — good God.
She had no idea how she had waited so long to do this.
And she hoped for his sake that Sebastian hadn’t said any of that lightly, because now that she had finally had him, she was never ever letting him out of her shaky, unpracticed hands.
At first, Sebastian had been taken aback. His mouth unmoving, eyes open in disbelief. It was as if he was observing the scene from outside of himself.
But then soon enough — he was all in, and he had his hands cupping the curve of her cheek to pull her closer to him. Soon enough, Sebastian was kissing her like he was looking for something. Pushing, pulling, scouring the shape of her mouth like she was a puzzle to be deciphered. Gripping tightly onto the sides of her waist and the small of her back like she was a prized to be possessed.
And she obliged.
Whatever he wanted to know she’d tell him. If she were a prize, she'd use every cheat every ruse in her arsenal to make sure he'd win.
She just hoped that her needy moans conveyed her willingness to be compliant in his competent hands.
Her limbs ached, her bones groaned. This kiss was too wild, too strenuous, too demanding for her worn out body. But she didn’t care. The floodgates had opened now, whether either of them knew it, and this feeling was unquenchable.
He tasted like home and aftershave and salt and all those silly peppermint candies he ate all the time. If she could fasten herself to him with an irreversible stitch, she would. If she could seal herself into a perfect mould of his arms, she would. If the shivers that raced down her spine could etch themselves permanently into her nerve endings in her skin, she’d gladly bear the mark.
In between peppered, sloppy kisses, she managed to gasp, "I'm in love with you too."
There was no time for pauses. She had no use for breathing; no use for air. She had no use for anything that didn’t include his lips.
His laugh was gravelly and tired and breathy. But it was filled with relief and tenderness all the same.
“Thank fucking god,” Sebastian murmured.
Her hands instinctively found their way to his hair, fingers tangling into the strands of his. She revelled in the texture of him. In her daydreams and her undisclosed fantasies, she had always wondered what it would feel like. Would he be as gentle as his charms implied? Or was he as abrasive as his words could be?
But despite his devouring intensity, despite how ardently he consumed her — everything about Sebastian was soft. His lips were soft. His body was soft. His hands were soft.
She leaned in to kiss him again, but he pulled back. Which immensely disappointed her. And she wasn’t shy to let it show on her face.
"Be careful. You're still recovering." He managed to get out, but it was weak.
Yes, that was true. It was very lovely and sensible of him to say.
But frankly, she couldn't give two fucks.
"I wouldn't mind dying today," she replied breathlessly, her voice laced heavily with longing.
He groaned into the edge of her mouth, "Way too soon."
She smiled wryly. Was it wicked of her to take delight in how protective he was being?
Silence hung in the air.
"Please just... just be careful next time?" he said, his voice wavering slightly.
She looked into his eyes, "I will."
With a gentle squeeze of his hand, she hoped that he knew that she truly meant it. That by definition, her feelings for him meant that her assurance was very much real. Because if not with words, she needed him to know through this gesture that she too looked for him in every inch of this castle. That she too would drop everything at his beck and call.
He squeezed her hand back in return.
Message understood?
“And as much as I’d love to keep kissing you," he whispered with a playful glint in his eye, "I would hate for Nurse Blainey to shun me from the infirmary for so shamelessly accosting one of her patients."
A soft chuckle escaped her lips, the tension easing between them. "You're right. We wouldn't want that," she replied, a fond smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
A/N: This is deffo a little different from the normal soft/simpy Seb that I write. I tried to go for overly flirtatious and wildly charming Seb and a pining MC this time to shake things up!! I still think they're cuties.
Gosh, I hope you guys liked it!! I'M STILL WORKING ON OTHER REQUESTS and of course my bb A Knowing Look! They will be taking a while but I promise I will be putting my heart and soul into them.
xoxo gruff

Memories
Tumblr media
Any! Slytherin boy x Reader
Everyone told you from the beginning that he was bad news. That he would only want one thing and then leave you in the dust.
Somehow, deep down you feared what they were saying would come true.
That he would just leave you standing there with a broken heart.
But it never happened.
Even during arguments, he wouldn't even yell at you.
Instead, every day, he would make sure to tell you that he loves you. That you are his one and only. He always tells you just how beautiful you are.
He would make sure that you were always smiling, always happy.
And now here you were, years and years later, still completely in love.
You wanted to laugh into the faces of those people who ever doubted him.
And you might just get the opportunity.
You received a letter a couple of days ago about an event held at Hogwarts.
They sent out letters to old students asking them to come and visit during the summer vacation.
It would be a one-day trip.
Of course, you and your husband agreed to go as your parents were happy to look after your children.
You smiled as you saw the old train. Everything just brought back so many memories.
Your face hurt from all the smiling.
Your husband had his arms around you all day, he too recalled many many memories. Especially one under a very special tree.
"This is where we kissed for the first time." he said as you walked over to the tree, turning and smiling at you as you walked over to him.
Much like how it happened back then, you pulled him down by his collar and placed a kiss on his lips.
"I remember very well. We had an argument and I stormed off to here, you followed me because you weren't done with talking." you smiled at the memory.
"And you pulled me down to shut me up with a kiss." he nodded, also recalling the events.
You had an amazing time looking around the castle.
The library brought back memories when you tried to study but he just kept staring at you.
Then during dinner, you caught up with many of your old friends.
You learned many of them worked for the Ministry. And even more, were surprised that you two were still together.
"Yes, almost ten years of marriage and four years of dating." you confirmed.
"Oh, wow. We would have never thought that you... would marry her."
"Who did you think I would marry then?" he asked as you just ate in silence.
"No one. You were always..."
"Yeah, well I love my wife and children so. Of course, I would marry her."
"Oh, you have children as well?" asked someone else by the table.
"Of course," it was now your time to speak. "We have four, but this one wants more." you pointed at your husband. "We have three girls and two boys."
"Oh, do they come here to school?"
"Yes, they are. Two of our girls are twins so they are currently third years, another of our girl will start school next year and our two boys were born six months ago. Twins again." you explained as everyone around you looked rather impressed.
"My daughter also comes here. Which house are yours in?"
"Slytherin, just like their father." you said with a very proud tone even if you could see the people around you sharing looks.
Whose idea was it to sit not at the Slytherin table?
Oh, right, yours.
Well, anyway.
You shared a look with your husband, calming him with a quick kiss before you turned to listen to other people talking about their families and achievements.
After dinner, you were all ready to leave, you smiled as you two headed back to the train, looking back all at the nice memories you kissed your husband before boarding the train.

Jealousy - Sebastian Sallow
Pairing: Sebastian Sallow x fem!Reader
Themes: Fluff and angy Sebastian
Tumblr media
"It's funny, you know," says Imelda as she sits next to Sebastian on the couch.
He had been sitting in the common room staring into the fireplace for who knows how long. He looks over at her and folds his arms. "What's funny?"
"I just thought you'd be more upset," she hums.
He gives her a look a shifts to face her. "About what?"
She laughs and crosses her legs. "(Y/N) and Garreth."
His face drops and there's a hint of anger in his eyes. He puts his arm on the back of the couch and leans in. "What about (Y/N) and Garreth?"
"Well nothing's happened yet, but she's all over him so it's just a matter of time."
He balls his fists and stand, leaning the common room. He has to find you. Honestly, Garreth? He didn't think you'd be into someone so...Ugh. He shakes his head. Where in Merlin's beard are you? He walks into the viaduct courtyard and finally finds you. You're sitting on a bench on the far side, looking up at...Garreth...He's standing over you, one leg up on the bench. You notice the movement and look up to see him.
"Sebastian!" you shout, waving at him and smiling.
Why...? Why must you smile at him like that? It's not fair. He sneers at you turns away, leaving. If you want Garreth that much you can him.
You watch him leave and frown. You look at Garreth and he shrugs.
"What was that?" he asks
You shrug in response.
***
Ever since Sebastian walked away from you the other day, he's been avoiding you. You keep calling after him and he just leaves. What is going on with him? You sit down in the undercroft and rub your arm. You'd just gotten back from helping Poppy free a dragon. A poacher had hit you with Diffindo and your arm was still hurting. Madam Blainey would just tell tell Professor Black if you went to her so you need to try and fix it yourself. You shrug off your robe and unbutton your shirt a bit, just enough to pull your arm out. Thank Merlin that Ominis and Sebastian aren't here right now. You start wiping the blood away and wince a bit. It really got you this time. You hear the gate open and gasp, hiding behind a pillar.
You hear Sebastian walk in and cringe. Why him? He walks closer, muttering to himself, and goes silent when he sees your robe on the floor. He walks over and picks it up, looking around. Standing, he looks around the pillar and sees you, turning a bright red when he realises you're partially undressed. He quickly turns around, apologising profusely, but spins back around just as quickly.
"You're bleeding!"
He moves to stand in front of you and gently grabs your arm. He suddenly gets angry and looks at you.
"Did Garreth do this to you?"
You scoff in disbelief and shake your head. "Garreth? No! Why would he?"
He ignores the question and pulls you down to sit against the pillar, pulling his wand out. You laugh and lean in towards him. "Don't tell me your jealous, Sebastian," you hum.
"I just want to make sure your new boyfriend isn't hurting you," he says through his teeth.
You stare at him, blinking a couple times. Boyfriend? Hurting you? You start laughing and hit him with your free arm. He recoils and looks at you, slightly offended.
"You've been avoiding me because you think I'm dating Garreth? Oh, you're totally jealous!"
He shakes his head and doesn't respond, quiely casting Vulnera Sanentur on your wound. You watch him and frown. He's upset with you and still wants to help you. It's sweet. You lean back slightly and look up at the ceiling. Sebastian has always been very kind to you and you've always appreciated it, but you feel sort of bad this time. No matter how many times you tell him not to worry about you, he does anyway. You close your eyes as he finishes up the spell.
"I don't like Garreth like that. I mean, I do like someone, but it's not Garreth."
He looks up at you, furrowing his brows. "But Imelda said-"
You start laughing. "Really? You believe Imelda on that? You know she loves messing with you."
He looks down and sits back on the floor. He looks up at you, his gaze softening and takes a breath. "Do I get to know who it is then?"
You smile and lean in really close. He looks down at your shirt, seeing it's still undone, and blushes a bit.
"Do you want to know?"
Feeling your breath makes him flush an even darker shade of red. He's usually really good in these situations, but having you this close, shirt halfway off, makes him unnecessarily nervous. He nods, thinking this is it. This is the moment you finally kiss him. Imelda lied and you're finally proving you like him back. He watches you giggle and stand up, fixing your shirt.
"Maybe I'll tell you later, but for now I need to fix my uniform."
He stares at you, mouth open and scoffs. "You're so mean to me, you know..."
You smile and shrug, picking your robe up. He watches you walk out as he continues to lean on his hands. He smiles and all he can think is Merlin...You're perfect...

Summary: Reader and Sebastian sneak off into the forbidden section of the library. Tensions rise between you and him which leads to an almost happening if Peeves's hadn't caught you. Sebastian tells you to go look for whatever you needed, taking the blame on him as he likes having friends in his debt. One day Sebastian comes for you to repay your debt demanding a kiss.
Tumblr media
Sebastian furrowed his brows, leaning back to catch what you were doing. He hummed curious seeing you make your way to the library. – “Where are you off to?” – he whispered to himself. Ominis cleared his throat loud. – “I’m sorry but do tell if I am boring you.” – he said with a sarcastic undertone. Sebastian quirked his eyebrow up, looking back at his friend. Ominis having crossed his arms. – “No…I was just…” – Sebastian answered nervously.
Ominis exhaled deep. – “It was Y/n, wasn’t it?” – he asked bluntly. – “What… no…I mean… I…” – Sebastian stuttered, rubbing the back of his head nervously. Ominis took a deep sigh. – “Just go after her, you are clearly distracted by her.” – he told him. Sebastian curled up a smile. – “Really?” – he called out, voice slightly higher from excitement then he anticipated. – “I mean…” – he cleared his throat to settle his voice one more.
“If you aren’t against it.” – he said trying to sound cool. As if it didn’t bother him that much. Ominis waved his hand to set him off. Sebastian smiled silly, jogging around the corner to the library. By the entrance he composed himself, flattening his smile into a mysterious expression.
He looked curiously around to where you were. Briefly smiling when he found you. Frowning he found your behavior a bit odd. Simply standing still while observing. Normal students would search the shelves for books, yet you did no such thing.
Sebastian approached you from behind, nearly startling you. – “An unusual method for finding a book.” – he commented making you jump out of your skin. – “Sebastian.” – you calmly said when he appeared by your side. – “But then…” – he stroked his chin thoughtfully. – “You are an unusual girl.” – he continued. You chuckled quietly. – “Was that a compliment Sebastian Sallow?” – you teased.
Sebastian moving his hand down to his back, balancing wobbly on his feet. – “Maybe?” – he answered with a smile. – “So what are you up to Y/n?” – he asked after the conversation had gone silent. You chuckled. – “What makes you think I am up to something?” – you replied tilting your head slightly. – “That mischievous glance in your eyes tells me enough.” – he gestured at your face, smirking. – “Whatever it is I want in. You’ll need me.” – his ego slipping through.
You laughed quietly. – “Do I now?” – you leaned a bit closer to him, smiling cheeky. Sebastian swallowed nervously at how breathtaking you were. – “Who is else is going to keep you busy with my charming personality.” – he smiled cocky, presenting himself to you. You snorted soft. – “You know I am right Y/n.” – he came leaning in closer, staring at you. – “So what is it?” – he asked again. You took a deep breath, looking around. – “Alright, but not here.”
Sebastian smiled beyond himself when you signaled for him to follow you. Going towards the stairs that led up to the higher sections. He followed you close by, looking cautiously over his shoulder. You looked if anyone was around before settling in a spot. Sebastian approaching closer. – “So what’s the secret?” – he asked keeping his voice low. You took a deep breath. – “I need something.” – you commented making him stare stupidly at you.
“From the forbidden section.” – you added in a whisper. His expression immediately changed into a smirk. – “Now I knew you were up to something Y/n.” – he said as you sighed loud. – “You mustn’t tell anyone.” – you asked of him. He held his hand up. – “Not a soul.” – he responded proudly. You took a deep breath, grabbing onto the railing, looking down at the library section down below. Sebastian came resting his arms on the railing beside you. – “So what’s the plan?” – he asked looking down as well.
“I have been observing the librarian for a while now in the hopes of spotting a pattern.” – you told him. Sebastian glanced to his side at you. – “Well I can get us in.” – he spoke. – “You can?” – you responded hopefully. He hummed loud straightening his posture. – “The librarian is usually not around at night. I can get us in the forbidden section, but there will be a spell you need to learn. The dissolution charm.” – he informed you.
“We cannot be seen by any of those scruffy prefects who would want nothing more than to rat on us.” – he continued speaking. – “Don’t worry.” – you said with a smile. – “I can be sneaky.” – Sebastian withheld a laugh at how cute you seemed. – “Let’s go then!” – you called out taking him by his sleeve. Pulling him with you as you were eager to learn that spell so you could sneak into the forbidden section with him.
You ran down the stairs, gasping loud when the librarian came blocking your path. – “No running!” – she said sternly with a scowl. Sebastian and you swallowed nervously at her cold stare. – “Sorry.” – you spoke with a nervous smile. She kept scowling your way as you slowly walked around her with Sebastian. Outside you took a deep breath. – “I for sure thought she would turn us into frogs.” – he commented making you snort loud.
“Frogs? I think you’ve heard too many stories Sebastian.” – you teased. – “Come on.” – he called out slightly bothered, taking you by the wrist. Somewhere out of sight thought Sebastian you the spell. Finding himself a great teacher. Now you only had to wait till it was night and you could sneak in the forbidden section.
Sebastian waited for you near the library. – “For a moment I thought you weren’t going to come anymore.” – he whispered removing himself from against the pillar. – “So little faith in me?” – you joked. – “You have no idea.” – he mumbled to himself thinking the opposite. He had very much faith in you. Growing in time ever since you out bested him in the duel in class. A proper Hogwarts welcome he had called it. The two of you walked up to the library, giving each a determined nod before using the dissolution charm.
Disappearing. – “Stay close.” – you heard him whisper. Frowning under the spell as you couldn’t even make out where he was. Crouching you entered the library. The silence eerie. You staid out of the light coming from the lanterns, remaining in the shadows. Eyes widening you heard sudden footsteps. Loud heels clicking. Catching a glimpse of the librarian roaming the sections. You snuck to the upper levels, feeling Sebastian bump briefly into you.
On the upper levels you duck down, keeping out of sight you reappeared. – “You told me the librarian would be gone by now!” – you whispered annoyed at him. Sebastian making himself appear before you. – “I said usually!” – he shout-whispered bothered. Bickering a bit with you. – “But it still will be alright.” – he reassured you. You took a deep breath, composing yourself. Sebastian and you used the spell once more, disappearing.
Sebastian got you into the forbidden section without being seen. The two of you appeared. You immediately walked through the sections, looking around. Sebastian staying a bit behind to take a look for himself. – “I can look for so many useful books.” – he called out, noticing you had moved on. Panicking a bit, he came jogging after you to stay close. – “But let’s focus on what you’re after, which is what precisely?” – he wanted to know. – “I’ll know it when I see it.” – you answered, looking focused around.
“You’re being awfully cryptic.” – he sighed out; a bit bothered that you wouldn’t trust him with it. He caught up with you, pulling you to a stop by your arm. – “I can help you out if you tell me.” – he told you, forcing you to look at him. – “You can trust me Y/n.” – he moved his hand to his chest heartfully. You exhaled soft, looking shy away. – “It is not that I don’t trust you, Sebastian.” – you told him, taking another deep breath. Sebastian furrowed his brows.
“Then what is it Y/n?” – he took a step closer to you, staring down at you. You looked up to him suddenly aware of how close he was. Swallowing nervously while staring lost in his eyes. Sebastian puffed his chest up, letting his gaze go from your eyes to your lips. Caught in the moment of wanting to kiss you. A sense of what he was about to do made you accept it. Leaning a bit forwards as well, closing your eyes half-way.
“Who have we here?” – A loud annoyingly voice came through startling Sebastian and you. It was Peeves who had appeared out of nowhere. You took a step back from Sebastian staring frightfully at Peeves. – “Students in the forbidden section. I must tell the librarian.” – he vanished before your eyes. You stumbled forwards, hand grasping to put him to a stop, yet he was already gone.
Sebastian clenched his hand into a fist, seeing how worried you looked back at him. – “I’ve got to stop him!” – he called out loud. – “Or at least get to the librarian with a good excuse for all of this.” – he suggested coming up with a plan. – “How will I know you won’t go to the librarian and blame this all on me?” – you asked panicking a bit. The possibility could still be there for him to snitch on you.
He wasn’t so keen on detention so you couldn’t blame him for trying. Sebastian tensed his jaw briefly before settling to his dorky personage. – “Why would I do that?” – he asked teasingly. – “I like having friends who are in my debt.” – he outed making you swallow shy. Before you could say more, he left, running off. – “Sebastian!” – you shout-whispered but he wouldn’t come back.
You couldn’t just let him take all the blame for himself, so you started going after him. Going in hiding when you saw Peeves appear once more, startling Sebastian. The heels of the librarian clicking loudly on the floor. – “Sneaking in the restricted area again!” – she called out in a high pitched voice. You snuck closer to them to eavesdrop. – “I had thought we were through with this mischief!” – she said disappointed.
She looked up to the ghost behind Sebastian. – “Peeves informed me you didn’t come alone.” – she spoke. Your eyes widened uncertain of what Sebastian might say to that. You couldn’t see him clearly. His head lowered for a moment, taking a deep breath. The librarian waiting patiently for an answer. – “There was nobody else. I came alone.” – he said out loud. – “Oh Sebastian…” – you whispered as the librarian took him away.
“I’m sorry…” – feeling guilty of him taking the blame for you. You hated yourself for even doubting him. Doubting that he might snitch on you despite being… if you said so friends. It was never easy to read with Sebastian. He could be charming, teasingly yet also snappy and bothered when it came to things he didn’t like or approve. With a deep sigh, you returned to the forbidden section… alone.
You sat down by the fountain in the courtyard. Reading a book hearing the water fall behind you. A shadow cast itself upon you, making you look up. – “Sebastian!” – you called out surprised, quickly shutting your book and putting it aside. – “Hello Y/n.” – he said as you got up. – “I…I am sorry. I hope the punishment wasn’t terrible. I haven’t seen you in days, I thought you resented me for what I put you through.” – you babbled out.
Sebastian folding his hands before him, suddenly holding his hand up to interrupt you. – “You shouldn’t feel the need to be sorry. It was my own decision to take the blame.” – he reassured you. You smiled faintly at him, feeling a bit better. – “No need to worry about the punishment it wasn’t that bad.” – he told you with a smirk. – “Good.” – you breathed out relieved. Sebastian cleared his throat, looking at anywhere but you. – “I’ll have you repay your debt now.” – he stated feeling his palms go sweaty.
“Oh yes, of course Sebastian. Anything you need. Do you want me to sneak in somewhere. You know I can be very sneaky.” – you said hearing him chuckle. – “Or do you wish for me to do your homework? Buy you sweets? A gift?” – you kept summing up, ready to do anything to repay the debt. Sebastian shook his head with a chuckle. – “I’ll settle for a kiss.” – he said out loud. – “A what?” – you blurted out caught off guard.
“A kiss.” – Sebastian repeated nervously. You blinked dumbfound at him as he rubbed the back of his head nervously. – “You… you can’t protest… or ask for something else. My settlement is set.” – he explained. – “Who… who said I would protest?” – you answered teasingly. Sebastian’s eyes widened in shock, seeing you smile at him. – “It just took me by surprise that is all.” – you added taking a step closer to Sebastian.
He felt his heart thump out of his chest by how lovely you were looking at him. – “Go on… claim your debt.” – you ushered him seeing how nervous he was. Sebastian grabbed you by your cheek and neck, pressing his lips on yours. Gladly claiming it. Lips brushed passionately against the other, taking it in. He kept kissing you as a simple kiss wasn’t going to do it for him.
He wanted a proper kiss. One he’d remember for ages. You grabbed him by his coat, pulling him closer to him. Tilting your head to the other side to approach his lips in a different direction. Sebastian was not one to protest, gladly accepting your lips once more. A flutter deep in his heart for the girl who out bested him in a duel so long ago.

sebastian sallow headcannons + reader (crush)
a/n: doing this for the community 🫡 jkjk | spoilers (ofc)
Tumblr media
whether you met him first in the common room or the defense against the dark arts class, you are sure something more than a spell sparked that day; a friendship, perhaps
"not bad, not bad for a new student," he dusted himself off the floor. glancing at your stretched hand, he took it gladly; as you pulled him off the ground.
"thank you...i was nervous about what i did back there, hope you are alright"
"i've had it much worst, believe me," he smiled.
occasional meetings at dada (lol) became frequent meetings throughout multiple classes. whatever fate wanted, you were glad to be greeted with those eyes you know so well
"class, welcome the newest rose to our garden," professor garlick smiled warmly at you. being ever politely you are, you returned the gesture, only to be distracted with the burning hole in your head.
'shit, he is staring at me,' you thought. staring back, he doesn't seem fazed by your gaze, 'is he zoning out?'
of course, professor garlick had to put you next to him. *wink wink*
can't also help that professor weasley tends to call him to help you with everything.
"excuse me, mr. sallow, please come to my office after this class," she pierced through her eyeglasses, and sebastian can't help feeling a sweat drop off his face.
'shit, what did i do'
...
"please, accompany ms. l/n to hogsmeade for her to buy her supplies," she assigned him without even looking up from her parchment.
"professor, but, why me?"
"don't you worry, i saw you with her in the class, you don't have to hide your feel-"
"no!- erm- i mean- no, she was just- stuned me during our duel"
"then, good, she will need a lot more practice to get comfortable," she replied. "now, run along."
...
"thanks for getting me out of detention," he chuckled as he walked side-by-side with you to hogsmeade.
"you're welcome?" 'fuck, he is staring again'
he got those chocolate hair and eyes...which it seems that you can not get enough of them
loves accompanying you around the vast castle of hogwarts
walking together after class is one of your favorite activities to do together
picking and packing up your books after charms class, you’ve noticed a green robe coming up to you.
“forgot this?” he passed your notebook.
“thanks, seb”
“what about…if i say…would you fancy a butterbeer this evening?” he questioned while staring at your hurried gestures.
“i- erm…i don’t know, i got a potions essay to work on…you know…they are quite the pain in the arse”
“hey, c’mon, butterbeer’s on me? it’s friday night,” sallow chuckled. “please?”
“hm…fine, meet me up at 6, quidditch gate,” you hurled your book bag up your shoulder as you reach for your wand.
“alright…see ya”
of course, being the ever gentleman he is, he will walk you to your dormitory. from the very highest ravenclaw towers, to the lowest hufflepuff dungeon, or even the golden house of gryffindor. (ofc if you are in slytherin, he will not miss a chance to send you to your room)
“alright…thanks for tonight, it’s my cue here,” you halted before your destination.
“you’re welcome, butterbeers are still on me next time, good night,” he smiled.
“night, seb”
sebastian was not quiet, no, he wasn't very close to being the quietest in the class. you will always find yourself, or perhaps, your ears, catching a glimpse of his voice in the busying class.
he can be the biggest teaser and a sarcastic commentator, which you act like you hated it. (no, you love it)
"i hope you don't mind me tying your shoe laces for you, cause i don't want you falling for nobody else," he chuckled.
"oh, please"
but one thing you have noticed is that, he will always find a good use of his chocolate eyes; they always find themselves searching through the sea of people to catch you.
he can be quiet if he wants, zoning out isn't the furthest of his forte
throwing out a joke or a comment were not something you are not used to as well.
of course, he finds a good blush in your cheeks everytime.
as cheeky and cunning he is, you couldn't ignore the feeling in your gut every time sebastian mentions his sister.
his demeanor shrinks and all you can hope is to comfort him in your arms.
he is loyal as a hufflepuff, quite interesting to find a slytherin boy as well-mannered as him.
'please, no, please, no-'
"who did you brought here with tonight, mr. sallow?" the librarian questioned.
...
"no one, ma'am"
"such a shame, mr. sallow, i will call the headmaster on this. just imagine what your uncle would-"
with one last glance, you mouthed him a 'thank you' and a smile on your face. your heart was beating so fast that it might nearly jumps out and pump itself on the floor.
you can lie to me, but i will never believe that sebastian does not love hugs.
he loves a good ol' hug. side hug, back hug, front hug, bear hug, a soul crushing hug, anything hug. plus one if it is a surprise hug.
mans love to joke around sometimes but, in the end, he is super protective. just a glimpse of how he would protect his sister. a gentleman, yet a bold friend.
standing up for you and always believing in you. hell yeah, he can even take a punch in the face for you *wink wink* and he can definitely place a punch for you; perhaps, a curse
the great hall is such a buzzing place, filled with students and delicious food to the brim. but undeniably, one of the best places to throw glances across the room for sebastian and y/n.
whether you are sitting across the room or just across the table, his eyes will always search for yours.
"i got my eyes on you, remember that"

Sebastian Sallow Headcanons
A/N: Prefer the way I wrote these headcanons to my Ominis ones.
Tumblr media
✧ Totally the type to drag you out on some adventurous dates. Sebastian is a thrill-seeker who loves exploring dangerous places, so he might take you on a midnight broomstick ride to the forbidden forest or hocus pocus your way through a poacher camp. He might also challenge you to a game of Quidditch or suggest sneaking out of Hogwarts to visit a nearby village.
✧ Despite his daredevil and bullheaded nature, Sebastian is also a bookworm who enjoys reading about ancient magic and history. He needs to find a cure for Anne after all and some of the books he read genuinely sparked a passion for reading in him. He might take you to the Hogwarts library and show you his favourite books, or ask you about your opinion on wizarding history and magical beasts.
✧ Sebastian is known to be a shameless flirt and someone who can charm the pants off anybody but it’s a mask to hide a boy desperate to protect those he holds dear. This might make it challenging to get to know him at first. However, as you spend more time together, he might reveal his deeper thoughts and emotions, giving you a glimpse into his complex personality.
✧Sebastian has a sarcastic sense of humor and a love for puns/dad jokes, which can be both hilarious and infuriating at the same time. He enjoys banter and witty exchanges, and he loves to make his partner laugh.
✧ Sebastian is interested in the darker aspects of magic, he taught himself the Unforgivables after all. He needs someone who can understand this and not hesitate to pull him back when he goes too far. This could lead to some interesting conversations or debates about the ethics of magic (”how is a painless death from Avada Kedavra banned but burning someone alive with incendio isnt?” he likes to say). You’re the best person for this after all since the Unforgivables aren’t as taboo for someone so new to this magical world. He feels like he can have a genuine conversation with someone about it without being painted as the bad guy straight away.
✧ Despite his chill demeanor, Sebastian is fiercely loyal to his friends and loved ones. He might joke around and tease you in public, but he'll defend you and stand by your side when it counts. He might also show his protective side by teaching you defensive spells in the Undercroft or offering to walk you back to your dormitory after a late-night adventure. He refuses to let even a scratch land on you.
✧ Sebastian is a bit of a romantic at heart, even if he doesn't always show it. He might surprise you with a handmade gift, a poem he wrote just for you (which is about as bad as you’d expect it to be), or a surprise date that he planned with meticulous attention to detail. He wants to make you feel special and appreciated, even if he doesn't always know how to express it.
✧ Ultimately, dating Sebastian would be a whirlwind of adventure, mystery, and complex emotions, with plenty of opportunities for growth and exploration.

Crucio.
Your entire body felt like it was being set on fire and the urge to vomit was real. Tears streamed down your eyes as you screamed, clutching your stomach in a pain truly agonising, there was no possible way for you to describe it.
Sebastian rushed to your side as soon as he had cast the curse, desperate to ease the pain he had caused to you intentionally. Your boyfriend had been dubious about casting the crucio curse on you, but when you flat out denied to use it on him, there was no other choice. You had to get to Slytherins Scriptorium and this was the only way.
"Baby, are you okay?" Sebastian asked, kneeling down on the ground to meet your hunched over form. You looked up at him, tears in your eyes, and simply shook your head. Just as you thought the pain was easing, another wave of excruciation washed over you and you let out another blood-curdling scream. "It's okay, I got you," Sebastian whispered, wrapping his arms around your body and pulling you close to him.
When the pain finally subsided and your vision became clearer you couldn't help but grip Sebastian's forearms, desperate to have him close to you. "I thought I was going to die," you whispered honestly, the remaining tears falling down your already tear-stained cheeks.
"You're safe," he whispered stroking your hair. "You're safe."
"Can you stand Y/N?" Ominis asked, holding his hand out in your general direction for you to take. You nodded to yourself and grabbed onto Ominis' hand, gripping tightly as he pulled you up. Your knees buckled underneath you as you stood up straight and Sebastian rushed to your side once more to wrap and arm around you to keep you steady.
"I got you beautiful," he whispered to you with the slightest hint of a smile on his lips. Ominis shook his head as he lead the way into the Scriptorium. You hobbled into the Scriptorium with Sebastian by your side, wondering what you would find in there.
"We need to search this place," you said loud enough for both Sebastian and Ominis to hear. They both nodded. Sebastian let go of you and made his way around the room, whilst Ominis used his wand to guide his way around. You walked over to an alter of some sorts in the middle of the room and picked up a book, alerting Sebastian and Ominis almost immediately before you had chance to investigate any further. "I think I've found something," you spoke loudly.
"What is it?" Sebastian asked as he made his way over to you. You passed the book to him, still slightly shaky from from the cruciatous curse. "A spell book?" Sebastian asked. "This could possibly help Anne! YN, you're a genius." You couldn't help but blush at your boyfriends words but shook off the feeling as you watched him open the book and continuously flick through the pages.
"We should head back," Ominis said moving his head in every direction in order to try and gauge where the two of you were in relation to him.
"You're right Ominis," you said before turning your attention to Sebastian. "We need to go, come on."
Once the three of you headed out of the Scriptorium, you found yourself back in the Undercroft. It didn't take long for Sebastian and Ominis to begin their argument as to the use of Dark Magic. Ominis was adamant that you should never use Dark Magic again, pointing to your state after Sebastian used crucio on you. "She could have died, Sebastian!" Ominis snapped. "Promise me, you'll never do this again?"
"If it will save Anne, I have too," Sebastian said calmly. Ominis shook his head and swiftly made his way out of the Undercroft, leaving you and Sebastian alone.
You played with your feet as your boyfriend walked over to you, placing a hand on your shoulder reassuringly. "Are you okay?" he asked, squeezing your shoulder lightly. You could only nod in response, your throat raw from the screaming. "I'm so sorry Y/N."
"It had to be done," you whispered hoarsely, coughing. "If it hadn't, we would have never been able to enter the Scriptorium and find that spell book." Sebastian stayed silent as you spoke, his hand on your shoulder reassuring you with every word.
When he finally spoke, Sebastian couldn't help but tear up slightly. "But I hurt you," he whispered.
"Like I said," you replied. "It had to be done, or we would have ended up like Ominis' aunt." With that, Sebastian nodded and dropped his hand from your shoulder.
"I love you," he said to you, the tone in his voice held so much seriousness - one you had never heard from him before. You couldn't help but falter as his arms wrapped around your waist, pulling you close to him. "I love you Y/N."
"I love you too Sebastian," you whispered back to him, gazing into his before flickering to his lips.
Before you knew it his lips were on yours, kissing you hungrily. His fingertips dug into your hips as the kiss deepened, becoming more passionate by the second. Your arms flew around his neck pulling him closer, not giving Sebastian the opportunity to escape from you - not that he wanted to anyway. You could tell that he felt guilty. He was pouring every emotion he could into this one moment. When you eventually pulled away you stared at Sebastian with lust filled eyes but before you could say anything, you were pushed into the wall of the Undercroft - his lips attaching to yours once more. Sebastian's arms were no longer on your hips, but instead resting next to your head on the wall behind you.
"Need to show you how sorry I am," Sebastian whispered to you lowly in between kisses. You were about to respond and tell him that it was okay, that you understood how he was feeling, but you were cut off once more. One of his arms dropped down to your hips, squeezing lightly as the kiss became more intense. It didn't take Sebastian long before he was grasping at your body desperately, taking fistfuls of your clothes in his hands. "I love you," he repeated once more. His mind had disappeared, floating off somewhere that wasn't in this moment as those became the only words he could say to you.
You let out a slight gasp as your boyfriend began to massage your breasts over your clothes, surprising you. It was then that Sebastian decided to trail his lips down to your neck, kissing and biting and sucking on your delicate skin. You couldn't help the moan that escaped your throat as his teeth danced across your skin. "Sebastian..."
"Yes my love?" he asked, his eyes looking up at you as he continued the assault on your neck.
""I want you," you whispered. Sebastian couldn't help the smirk that formed on his lips at your words but he continued to grope your breasts all the same. "Touch me Sebastian."
"Where?" he asked as he peppered kisses up your jawline and back to your lips once more.
"Anywhere, just please," you begged.
"Need you to tell me where," Sebastian chuckled as he pulled away from your lips to stare into your eyes.
You hesitated, a blush spreading across your cheeks out of embarrassment. "You know where," you tried to get out of saying it, but Sebastian shook his head slowly.
"Here?" he asked cheekily, his hands founds their way under your shirt to your breasts once more and a moan escaped your lips. You shook your head slightly and Sebastian asked once more, "where?"
"M-My pussy," you whispered through a stutter.
"Oh," Sebastian smirked, trailing his hands down south to your clothed cunt. "Here?" He put a little bit of pressure on his touch as he began to palm you through your skirt, your legs opening slightly for him to gain better access. You nodded your head violently.
"Sebastian," you moaned out quietly as his hands circled around your clothed clit clumsily.
"Right there?" he asked, suddenly unsure. His confident demeanour changed to that of pure awkwardness as he stood with his hands between your legs.
"Yes Sebastian," you whimpered.
"O-Okay," he breathed out, talking to himself more than he was talking to you at this point.
His fingers danced across your underwear, inexpertly. "Please Sebastian," you whispered into his ear. "Touch me."
"I am," he hissed back softly, until he realised what you meant. His eyes widened and he looked at you for permission. You nodded. With that, his fingers entered the side of your underwear touching your bare cunt. Sebastian's heart was in his chest as he watched you writhe beneath him, admiring the way you gripped at his forearms to keep yourself steady. "I hope this shows you just how sorry I am," he whispered to you as he inserted a finger inside of you. You let out a choked moan as he stretched you open, a feeling you had never experienced before.
You nodded to Sebastian, muttering a quick "it does" before your mouth hung open. The sensation was almost addictive. He began to pump his finger in and out of you, the wetness from your core covering his finger as he withdrew them. A silent "oh fuck" left your lips. "Another," you said quietly.
"Another?" Sebastian asked, tilting his head to the side in confusion.
"Another finger Sebastian," you whimpered, knees buckling underneath you.
"Oh, right, yeah," Sebastian nodded, inserting another finger inside of you. He moved his fingers around a bit before he began to pump in and out once more enthusiastically this time. He was hungry to hear more of the noises you were making, more of the moans of his name. He began thrusting slightly harder and slightly faster than he was previously, making his hunger for you known.
"Merlin," you gasped as he hit that sweet spot inside of you.
"Did I hurt you?" he asked, retracting his fingers from you. You shook your head and thrusted your hips forward trying to urge Sebastian to continue. He nodded his head in confirmation and was just about to insert his fingers back inside of you when the door to the Undercroft opened. Sebastian yanked his hand back and smoothed down your skirt before stepping away from you and turning to face the intruder.
Ominis.
"Sebastian? Y/N? Is that you?" Ominis asked as he slowly made his way into the room.
"Yes Ominis," you said sweetly, turning to Sebastian to give him a playful giggle.
"What are you still doing here?" Ominis asked, turning his head to the sound of your voice.
"We erm-" Sebastian mumbled kicking his feet on the floor, unsure of what to say.
"We were just practicing some spells before class," you interrupted Sebastian, winking at him.
"Hmm," Ominis hummed before he nodded. "Okay, we have charms next right?"
"Yeah," Sebastian nodded.
"We can go together then," Ominis spoke up. You and Sebastian looked at each other awkwardly.
"Lead the way Ominis," you said with a smile.
You followed Ominis out of the door with Sebastian trailing behind you slowly, his face bright red. Surely there would be another time where he could show you just how sorry he was, at a time where you wouldn't be interrupted.

Chapter 3: A Knowing Look
Tumblr media
Pairing: Sebastian x F!Reader Summary: In which Sebastian is whipped and literally everyone can see from a mile away that this is more than friendship.
“I have it on good authority that Andrew Larson is after your girl.” Sebastian wanted to laugh, because he must have misheard. And if not, surely that was just a jest. Also, his girl? Hearing it (even out of Leander’s slimy mouth) was both thrilling and petrifying. But before he could reply, Leander continued. “Made a big scene about how he’s going to ask her out today.” Sebastian swore he could feel the Earth’s rotation come to a halt and his head spin. “But I guess if she’s not your girl - it’s no bother, is it?”

Chapter 3: Leander
“Distracted Sallow? Never took you for a bumbling love sick fool.”
Sebastian couldn’t help the groan that crawled out his throat.
Sebastian had his suspicions, but Leander’s snivelling face confirmed it.
The universe was out to destroy him.
His day had already been bad enough. Leander had bested him in a duel in Defence Against the Dark Arts— which only fed his gargantuan ego. Even Professor Hecat was surprised at how atrocious Sebastian’s form had been. Every misstep and poorly spellcast, she made sure to let him know.
So it was safe to say that Sebastian did not have the patience nor the energy to humour any of Leander’s buffoonery.
He didn’t even really know how it happened. It was all a blur once he stepped onto the duelling platform. Then all of a sudden he was face flat on the ground. His robes haphazardly flung over his head. His legs strewn across the floor.
Merlin, how atrociously humiliating.
Especially when he was still trying to recover from his last humiliating incident in the library.
His last conversation with Poppy had made a total and utter mess of him. He felt like mush. All sentimental flesh and no bones. His mind and heart was still in disarray from their last conversation. When she had so brazenly implied that it was only obvious to assume he was courting the Hero of Hogwarts, the thought of actually courting her was the only thing that ran laps around his cluttered mind.
That was probably why he lost to Leander in the first place.
Ever since their encounter in the library, his eyes felt like they were moving constantly in conflict. Half of the time, they couldn’t stop searching every hallway and every nook and every corner of the castle in search of her. The other half of the time (when they finally found her), his eyes could never quite meet hers.
How did he end up becoming this silly bundle of nerves and contradictions?
That was how Sebastian found himself moping in the Transfiguration courtyard, with only the idle castle pigeons in his company. He had spent the past hour glaring daggers at any mythical statues that deigned to throw pitiful looks his way. He even ignored Ominis’ owls. He had been perfectly content brooding by his lonesome.
That was until Leander-the-knobhead-Prewett showed up.
“Piss off Prewett,” a migraine brewed above the bridge of Sebastian’s nose, “Go spew your nonsense to someone who cares.”
Leander ignored his protests, and perched himself comfortably on the bench next to Sebastian instead. All Sebastian had wanted today was a quiet afternoon to sulk in peace. He wanted to claw his hair out at how he had even been robbed of that. By Leander of all people. He was probably the last person on the bloody planet Sebastian wanted to share this afternoon in the courtyard with.
“Shame. It seems without your girlfriend around, your duelling skills turn poorly.”
“What are you on about?” Sebastian bristled.
Poorly? How dare he.
Tough talk from a glorified overgrown ginger twig.
Also, not this again. Not today. It was one thing from Ominis and Poppy. But Leander? If even one other nosy Gryffindor came up to him to imply that he was courting the girl wonder, Sebastian was going to throw himself off the edge of the Astronomy tower.
(But complicated feelings aside... Sebastian was grateful that she hadn’t been around to see his sorry arse get obliterated in class.)
“Come on. No need to be shy about it, Sallow. The whole school knows you’re soft on the new girl.”
Leander gave him a terribly patronising pat on the back. Instinctually, Sebastian shoved him off.
Him? Soft? That was utterly ridiculous. Softness was for babies. For defenceless maidens. And Sebastian Sallow was not any of those things. He was smart as a whip. Tough as nails. Sharp as a blade. Softness was not in his repertoire.
“Well then, you’re even dumber than you look, cause I’m not soft on anyone.” Sebastian replied snarkily.
Leander snorted, “Half of the year’s got bets on when you’ll finally be caught snogging in the hallways.”
Great. Just fucking wonderful. Of all the things Sebastian needed today, he definitely did not need the mental picture of him snogging his friend senseless wreaking havoc in his restless mind. And fuck off. Snogging in the hallways? Give him a little more credit. Sebastian was a raging flirt, but he wasn’t an exhibitionist. He was more romantic than that. If he was going to snog her it sure as hell wouldn’t be in plain view for the entire student body to see.
Not that he was going to snog her of course. Not that he wanted to snog her.
It was just hypothetical. Scientific even.
But bets? Snogging? God this was probably karmic justice. For that one time in fourth year when he had spread a rumour that Duncan Hobhouse and Constance Dagworth had a romantic tryst in the broom closet in the clock tower. It wasn’t true of course. Which is why Constance was furious, and why Duncan (unsurprisingly) loved it.
“It’s all good and well if other people want to waste their own money. Doesn’t bother me.” Sebastian replied, trying his best to sound aloof.
“Really?” Leander asked coyly, “Come on. We’ve all seen the sappy looks you give her.”
Sebastian was itching to hex the arrogant look off his face.
Genuinely, Sebastian couldn’t believe how many times he had to defend the status of their friendship this week alone. What business was it of others to speculate on such things anyway? Had Hogwarts, with its endless puzzles and mysteries, become so boring that Sebastian’s private life was now the talk of the town?
“Oh relax. Don’t get your knickers in a twist Sallow,” Leander snickered, elated by Sebastian’s foul mood, “I was trying to do you a favour. I have information that might be of interest to you.”
Sebastian leant back further on the bench as his posture gave up. He was tired. He’d spent the better half of the week overthinking. He didn’t want to talk to Leander. He just wanted to laze in the sun and wallow.
“I can’t for the life of me imagine you telling me anything of use.”
He was positive that Leander had not a single wisdom to impart onto him.
“Oh, I can think of a thing or two.” Leander said, as if he’d just said something utterly hilarious but he wouldn’t say why.
“I’d be surprised if you could even string a sentence that could impress me.” Sebastian retorted. He might’ve lost their duel, but he wasn’t about to lose this battle of words.
But then Leander pulled a fast one on him and said her name.
“It’s about her.”
Of course it was about her. How could it not be about her? But simultaneously, how could it be about her? There was nothing that Leander could know about her that Sebastian already didn’t. The Gryffindor was more than likely baiting him, trying to rile him up.
Which is why he should’ve obviously left it — curiosity never did no cats any good. (But Sebastian wasn’t a cat. And never knowing would’ve likely killed him just the same.)
“Enlighten me,” Sebastian said dryly.
He could tell that pleased Leander immensely.
Haughtily, Leander leaned towards Sebastian and whispered, “I have it on good authority that Andrew Larson is after your girl.”
Sebastian wanted to laugh, because he must have misheard. And if not, surely that was just a jest. Also, his girl? Hearing it (even out of Leander’s slimy mouth) was both thrilling and petrifying.
But before he could reply, Leander continued.
“Made a big scene about how he’s going to ask her out today.”
Sebastian swore he could feel the Earth’s rotation come to a halt and his head spin.
Predictably, Leander was looking at Sebastian awfully smug. Like he had spent years since their first day at Hogwarts mining into the depths of Sebastian’s subconscious with cheap insults and backhanded duelling tactics and finally struck gold. He had found the thing that unnerved him most. Unravelled him into a mess of emotions.
Her.
“But I guess if she’s not your girl - it’s no bother, is it?”
It was no bother. Logically, emotionally, in actuality — no bother at all. Not a single fucking one.
So why did it feel like someone had just flung him mercilessly into the black lake? Tied to an anchor pulling him down into a cavern of endless despair? Like someone had grabbed him by the throat and was choking him with intent to kill? And why did he have this sudden, insatiable urge to beat Andrew Larson into a miserable pulp?
She was not his girl, by any means or definition. And as Sebastian had previously clarified, he was not soft on her either. So logically, if some guy wanted to throw their hat into the ring to court her, there was no issue.
But when Sebastian genuinely tried to picture it: Larson making her laugh; putting his gangly arms around her shoulders; staring deeply into her eyes - it just felt wrong. It felt unnatural. It felt like the ground was flipped on its head. It flooded bile in the back of his throat. It didn’t make sense. None of it. And what could a simpleton like Andrew Larson even offer the girl wonder anyways?
Sebastian had never thought much of Andrew Larson before. And that was exactly it. He wasn’t much to think about at all. No redeeming qualities of note. So what made him think that he was worthy of her? She was the Hero of Hogwarts for Merlin’s sake. She was strong and lovely and unyielding and a tempest and way out of his league.
Sebastian was definitely angrier than rationality called for. But even just the thought of Larson’s weasley little hands touching her made his blood boil.
And when blood boiled, it eviscerated everything.
“It’s none of my business.” Sebastian practically spat with his fists clenched.
The words came out more brusquely than he intended (but less than he truly felt).
To his credit, Leander was surprised, “What? Don’t you want to know where and when he’s going to do it?”
“What fucking for?”
Leander looked at him condescendingly, “Well I don’t know, to save her from Larson’s grubby hands or something?”
“You and I both know she doesn’t need saving,” Sebastian affirmed with an eye roll.
“Come on Sallow. You’re having me on. I know you’re just dying to put that Ravenclaw in his place.”
Sebastian would love nothing more. But he didn’t want to give Leander the upper hand.
Leander scoffed, “Fine whatever. Don’t say I didn’t try to warn you. I was trying to help you out of the goodness of my heart. Don’t come crying to me when you find out that she’s decided to try going out with Larson.”
Almost dramatically, Leander made his move to stand up and go. But it was all for show of course. He just wanted Sebastian to beg for his help.
But Sebastian wasn’t paying him any mind. Too busy caught in the storm of his own emotions.
Because the more he thought about it — the more he took a mental magnifying glass and really, really scrutinised the damn feeling — the more he was inclined to believe that perhaps he was soft on her.
For starters, he was always worrying about her. Whether she was safe on her adventures. Whether she’d eaten breakfast. Whether she was tired from the weight of being so depended on. Was that softness? Whenever she looked at him, he felt terrified. Like his heart would race out of his chest from the sight of her. Was that softness?
Was softness meant to feel this anxious? That didn’t sound right.
It didn’t sound at all like the romances that maidens sang in their folk songs. They made it sound so easy. Nothing about his feelings for her ever felt easy to understand. For Sebastian, there were no butterflies or angel songs or clouds parting or hippogriff rides off into sunset. It was nothing like that. It always felt urgent. It always felt like endless running and scalding fire and falling off the edge of the universe all at once.
Like she was her own blinding force of magnetism pulling him towards her, off the edge of an unknown precipice. And Sebastian didn’t mind at all. Hell, even if she didn’t tug him, even if she protested — he would’ve marched right up to her, grabbed her hand and jumped off the edge with her without a second thought.
Maybe… in its own complex and twisted way, that meant that he was soft on her.
(And maybe that was the most terrifying thing about it all.)
God. That meant that he couldn’t let Andrew anywhere near her.
With renowned vigour, Sebastian pulled Leander by his robe and demanded.
“Tell me.” Sebastian finally.
Leander stopped his pacing. Check and mate. Hook, line and sinker. He knew that he would cave; Leander had him right where he wanted him — and the fucker had never looked so delighted with himself.
“I knew that you’d need my help.”
Like they had a mind of his own, his legs moved first.
First they walked briskly, and then suddenly they were sprinting at reckless speeds towards her. God knows why, because he surely didn’t. Sebastian was so single-minded in his run that he didn’t hear the complaints of the castles sleepy paintings, nor Imelda Reyes yells to slow the fuck down, nor the screeches from the gaggle of first years running from the madman he must have appeared to be.
He was running headfirst into … god knows what. On the precarious word of Leander Prewett. On the word that some other guy had thought he was foolishly worthy to ask for even a slither of her attention.
The running was endless. It was stairs and narrow arches and stretches of hallways. But he wasn’t going to stop. Not even a radical force of nature could stop him in his path. Tunnel vision would get him to that greenhouse; Sebastian’s blind faith would make sure of it.
Because now that he finally could admit to himself that maybe he was soft on her. That maybe their friendship was dearer to him than most other friendships. That maybe all of this was (at most) a crush — he couldn’t let Andrew Larson derail everything before he even started.
Not that he had a solid plan or anything.
Which was abundantly clear to him now that he found himself standing in front of the towering doors that led into the greenhouse. He was out of breath and logical reasoning. If he did see them... What would he do about it?
What could he do about it?
But with no time to waste, Sebastian guessed he would just have to find out.
So he pushed open the doors.
And once he stepped into the greenhouse, Sebastian couldn’t help but grimace. Of course someone as mediocre as Andrew Larson would pick somewhere as basic as the Greenhouse to try to court the girl wonder. He probably thought that he could woo her with a flower or two. That if she didn’t have any feelings for him to begin with, she was a simple enough girl that a bouquet was enough to sway her with his affection.
But he would be wrong. Because she wasn’t the kind of girl that would go on a romantic dalliance with a boy she hardly knew. With a Ravenclaw no less. She was too smart, too witty, too compelling to be wasted on someone like him.
She had always been better suited with Slytherins anyway. At least they had the cunningness to match her endless ferocity.
(Or — as Sebastian tried his best to avoid saying — she was better suited with him.)
From a distance, he could hear quiet chatter.
And when he looked, between the restricted view of foliage, Sebastian felt a pang in his heart at the sight of them.
They were standing in a secluded alcove of the greenhouse light. She was drenched in sunlight and surrounded by all things flora — and even in these distressing times, he couldn’t help but think that she looked bewitching.
… And beside her was Andrew.
All he wanted to do was run up to her and pull her out of his orbit. The itch in his fingers to reach out to touch her was stronger than ever; her gravitational pull was overwhelming. But she would’ve probably hated him for it. The girl wonder would never fancy herself a damsel in distress.
But maybe she would forgive him if he said that he was saving himself. From the grief of watching someone try to claim her as their own.
Nevertheless, Sebastian refrained and casted a quick disillusionment charm. Staying stealthily behind this fern planter would have to suffice.
As he tip-toed closer, Sebastian heard Andrew’s pompous voice ring out:
“... I mean, it’s no secret. I think you’re absolutely incredible. And stunning. So I was wondering if you would do me the honour of accompanying me to Hogsmeade next weekend?”
When he heard Andrew speak, all Sebastian could see was blinding red. Gone were the lacewing flies in his chest. They were replaced with a feeling more feral and bitter and grotesque.
In the air sat a thick, heavy pause. It was silent. With fear and anticipation frothing at the base of his throat, Sebastian gripped his own hands in wait. So hard that bruises were probably blooming.
Surely she was going to reject him… Right?
“I’m…” She began tentatively.
Just as Andrew leaned in expectantly (patronisingly even), Sebastian leaned in uneasiness. The tension was palpable. Sebastian could taste it in the air, weighing on the crease of his brow, splitting cuts into the skin of his lips.
Surely she was going to say no… Right?
Finally, she replied, “That’s a very lovely offer Andrew, but I’m afraid that I can’t take you up on it. Thank you for thinking of me though.”
After she had spoken, Sebastian let go of the shaky breath he hadn’t even realised he was holding in.
The world wasn’t in peril anymore, he wasn’t seeing red. Her words were like oxygen to his battered lungs; he could finally breathe again.
Her voice had sounded perfectly diplomatic. Polite and wonderfully neutral. No hint of derision, with just the right amount of compassion. And Sebastian couldn’t thank the heavens enough for it.
Thank Merlin. Thank Salazar. Thank any and all of the Gods that looked down upon him.
But almost comically, Andrew’s face quickly sour. Just a second ago, the Ravenclaw had been brimming with bravado. Now he looked like an embittered spoiled child who didn’t know how to take no for an answer. Sebastian could tell that this was clearly not the way that Andrew had hoped that this would go — and he had never been more ecstatic for someone’s flagrant misery.
Sebastian had a feeling that he wouldn’t take the rejection with grace, but he hoped that the Ravenclaw would have the sense to not make a scene.
“Come on. It’s just one butterbeer. Can’t hurt, can it?” Andrew sounded almost annoyed.
From his hiding spot, Sebastian almost laughed. What nerve did this dunce have to be annoyed? It seemed that the girl wonder felt the same.
She forgoed diplomacy, and raised her brow disapprovingly.
“Well, I’m sorry. But I’m simply not interested.”
“Well you’re not taken are you?” Andrew had the gall to retort.
She hesitated. Only for a brief moment, but significant enough for Sebastian to catch it. He couldn’t help but wonder — why did she stop?
 “No. I’m not.”
Andrew went to grab her wrist, “Well then the least you could do is not reject a man’s kind offer to take you out.”
Sebastian bristled through gritted teeth. Watching Andrew touch her was the last straw. He never thought twice about him until today, and now Sebastian hated him with every agitated fibre in his being. The nerve of this idiot. How dare he. Adrenaline spiked into his veins and before his brain had time to think, he was ready to punch the living daylights out of him—
But then she wrung her hand out of his grasp, and raises her wand at the ready as an act of defiance. When she glared at him, her eyes were ice cold and pure venom. Sebastian had never seen her so furious, it was almost impressive what Andrew managed to incite out of her.
“I don’t need to do anything. I don’t owe anyone anything. Especially boys who refuse to take a lady’s refusal with grace,” She snapped back.
Sebastian retreated, and stood down. She was comfortably standing her ground and he wanted to jump for joy. He had never been more enthralled by her than in this moment.
Andrew snorted. Which Sebastian could tell displeased the girl wonder even more.
“I think I should go.” She said brusquely.
But before she could, Andrew rudely brushed past her shoulders, and muttered indignantly, “Whatever. Don’t bother. I’ll leave.”
When Andrew began to storm off, she was left in the lurch to watch the belligerent boy walk off in bewilderment. She stared agape, as if she was unsure whether or not to dignify his rude behaviour with a response.
But Sebastian wasn’t about to let him off this easily.
Just as Andrew started to stomp his way up the steps past the pond garden. A wicked idea struck Sebastian. As quickly as the idea came to him, he lifted his wand and pointed at the Ravenclaw’s feet.
“Impedimenta,” Sebastian whispered.
And almost as if he was moving in slow motion, Sebastian savoured every delectably humiliating expression that flickered on Andrew Larson’s face as he fell off the cobbled staircase; face first into the depths of the greenhouse pond.
Splash!
In less than five hours, the entire school had heard all about Andrew Larson’s failed attempt to court the girl wonder. The highlight of the tale was of course, his ungraceful dive head-first into the greenhouse pond.
The rumours first started when the Ravenclaw was seen storming out of the greenhouse annex drenched silly, with a nest of foliage poking out of his unruly hair. He had left a squelchy trail of footsteps behind him, and a flock of Gryffindors girls in speculating hushed whispers.
But then the details became public knowledge; and how that came to be would forever be a mystery.
When Ominis had first found out, he asked Sebastian if had heard the news. Ominis eyed him suspiciously, but said nothing more when Sebastian shrugged in response. He clearly suspected that Sebastian knew more than he was letting on.
At the dinner table, Ominis mused, “I wonder how they found out.”
Sebastian replied, “Yeah. I wonder.”
After expertly deflecting all of Ominis’ questions. He excused and made his way On his way back to the Slytherin common room, just on a corner leading up towards the grand staircase, he bumped into her.
“Oh, Sebastian!” She said warmly.
Hearing his own name come out of her mouth, Sebastian felt his heart literally skip a beat. Which was preposterous, because what business did hearts have skipping at all? Vital functions shouldn’t malfunction at the mere mention of a name.
Sebastian had thought about nothing but her in the last five hours; it felt like he had experienced a lifetime of emotions in that short span of time alone. There were so many words and feelings that he wanted to say to her. So many revelations and just as many answered questions.
“Hi.” Sebastian said.
But that was the only thing that he managed to get out.
“I feel like… I haven’t seen you in a while,” She said.
It had been ages, Sebastian wanted to scream. It had been a week since they had properly spent any time together; since the last time they were in the library. It had been disgustingly too long — but how could he tell her that without sounding like an utter desperate fool?
“It has been a while. I imagine you’ve been busy.”
“Mmhm,” She said absentmindedly.
Her eyes briefly glazed over, as if she was contemplating saying more to him. Sebastian had a feeling he already knew what was weighing on her conscience.
“I heard about Larson.” Sebastian said.
A light blush dusted on her cheeks.
“Oh… You heard about that?” She chucked slightly nervously. In an attempt to hide her discomfort, she tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear, which stubbornly kept falling loose. Sebastian had to tell himself not to reach out and tuck it out of the way for her.
“It’s all anyone can talk about.” Sebastian conveniently left out the part that he had actually been there to witness it all.
She grimaced.
“Oh, it’s nothing newsworthy, I just told him that I wasn’t interested—”
“Good.” Sebastian interrupted (much too) abruptly.
Her eyes shot up to his, startled by the suddenness of his reply. Like a deer in headlights, he looked just as bewildered by the sound of his own voice. Fuck, did he really just say good? He cursed himself for how overly eager that must have sounded, and hoped that she didn’t read too much into it.
“I mean… it’s good you spoke your mind.” Sebastian clarified quickly.
She looked at him dubiously, with inquisitive eyes. Sebastian felt a chill run down his spine. He must have said too much with so little, because she was looking at him rather intensely. He couldn't help but wonder if she could now see through him, peering into his mess of his thoughts and emotions.
Was she looking for an answer to something in particular? And did she find it?
But if she did, she didn’t reveal it.
“Right.” She finally said.
Then slowly, but surely, a smile grew on the edges of her lips. Like a soft patch of shade on a blistering summer day, it soothed his temperamental chest.
When Sebastian had tried to picture her and Andrew together, it all felt wrong. But right here, in this moment just between them, when she was looking straight at him, all felt right in the world. Like peace was at his footbed. Like his contentment was in the palm of her delicate hands.
Sebastian couldn’t believe that he ever denied being soft on her.
And he couldn’t believe it took so many people — including Leander for fucks sake — to see it.
“Join me tomorrow at dinner?” Sebastian said, before hurriedly adding, “And Ominis of course. Feels like it’s been a while”
She smiled and said, “Sure.”
This time, Sebastian didn’t fight the smile on his face, “Great.”
And in that moment, Sebastian did genuinely believe all was great. ——

This chapter was so fun to write but also it took me WAY longer than I thought it was going to. It's also wayyyy longer than chapter 1 and 2, so I hope you guys enjoyed it.
I apologise for the Leander slander. But tbh in some ways he's team SebxMc! So maybe we're all actually pro Leander
I also apologise for the Andrew Larson slander. tbh don't know a thing about him, so he probs doesn't deserve such hate. But oh well, the things we do for romance.

A LITTLE CRUSH
— Summary: Ominis is tormented by his insatiable curiosity, so he enlists the help of a besotted Sebastian.
— Main Characters: Sebastian Sallow and Ominis Gaunt
— Notes: The description of the reader is very specific, sorry... it's based off a dream.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Rich, emerald green curtains frame the exquisitely ornate marble columns, abundant with lustrous serpentine features, as the soft sounds of whispered voices echo throughout the opulent common room.
A mordacious boy rests against the stone fireplace in a nonchalant manner and in his presence, a fellow pure-blood Slytherin lounges on an elegant settee, an antiquated leather-bound book in hand before the melodious sound of his name falls from the boy’s lips.
“Yes, Ominis?” He drawls in response, not turning his attention away from his book.
“What does she look like?”
The young Gaunt’s inquisitive, yet rather peculiar curiosity piques Sebastian’s interest, as he allows his attention to abandon the obscure incantations within the book and focus on his friend’s pale, opaque eyes. “Oh... got a little crush, do we?” He teases, a sly smirk playing on his lips.
“Sebastian.” Hisses the boy, the bitter undertone in his ostentatious voice drips from his tongue like venom. The boy in question allows a quiet chuckle to rumble deep in his throat as he turns his attention to your solitary figure, watching you wallow in the soft shadows that were percolating through the intricate gothic windows.
“I think you’d really like her.” He mentions, a soft smile gracing his freckled features. “Her dark, decadent curls are contrasted delightfully against her pale skin, and the soft flesh of her lips are framed by a constellation of freckles that linger along her cheeks. Her eyes are golden brown, with hints of dark velvet, and she’s got quite a few little beauty marks...” He explains, turning to his friend. “Just like you.”
“Oh,” the boy sighs. “How poetic.”
“She really is quite beautiful, Ominis.”
“It sounds to me, Sebastian, like you’re the one with a little crush.” A playful smile graces his lips. “After all, she did beat you in a duel.”
“Oh, don’t start.” He says, voice laced with admonition. His gaze lingers on the boy, watching the soft smile grow wider before turning his attention back to his cryptic book.
