Do you think there's any bit of a chance that Pate may not continue jiara's "relationship" romantically in season four? Because there are a lot of happy shippers, sure. But there also seems to be quite the number of people who are disgusted in how this ship was given regardless of the amount rudy and madison both received of bullying who are tagging, posting or messaging the official instagram account. Not to mention how blatantly obvious both madison and rudy take the length of being as far apart as camera shot possible. Chase and Madelynn stand closer than they do some times and they were the actual real life couple...I keep hoping that they might change it. With that time skip thing I heard about happening at the end there would be ample time for jiara's relationship to of not worked out that way. I love jjpope, and would be thrilled for them to be official endgame (regardless they are to me) but for me it's the bullying aspect that comes attached with jj and kiara and how its just being chose over the sake of decency. Just takes me back to how adults handled bullies in my school growing up. Which is not at all. So it strikes a nerve pretty badly that its overlooked in yet another form of it.

I don't think they're gonna split them up come the start of the new season, no. especially because those shippers didn't get the material they wanted at the end of s3 and understandably, canonizing a pairing three years "in waiting" and then jumping 18 months into the future immediately after is the absolute worst thing to do to a fan base (I have to laugh). imagine if they are broken up at the season 4 opening though.. we would have to endure their angsty reunion probably cause they fucked it up so bad the first time they'd be like take 86 ok lets try again and rudy, this time pls look more into it ACTION! 📢 and I would have to go put my head in a blender but let's not get too ahead of ourselves I'm living a nightmare already.

but listen I come from the riverdale fandom so this is like deja vu for me and the second time I'm dealing with my ship being ripped apart and flushed down the toilet because the writers were bullied by fans on twitter, AND the actors having to deal with creepy irl shippers despite my ship's cast members being in a relationship with EACH OTHER. that behavior was rewarded and it was all with the intention of gaining viewers of course. nothing is sacred in television anymore because all they care about is figuring out the best ways to fill their pockets, not telling a good story. this is by no means shocking to me but to say I'm fed up is an understatement.

I'm sorry about this ask, but your post appeared in the jjpope tag. Just ignore this if you want. But it would be interesting to confront our point of views since we are from "opposite sides".

"no romantic jjpope set up": are we watching the same show? Taking the fall for your friend and being in 30k debt and smiling about it in your cell and then having a romantically coded reunion scene where you kiss him on the cheek isn't enough for you? What did JJ do for Kie again?

Actually, jiara is the one with no romantic set up, that's been confirmed by the writers and actors. So I really don't know why you're so confident that it will happen. Anyone with common sense would see that based on season 1, jjpope has a better chance of happening. The only way jiara is happening is if the writers changed their story to please the fans, that's a fact. I like to believe jjpope was and is still meant to happen. Plus Rudy already teased it right after S1 by saying "bromance? ship? who knows" and he also said that it was more cute than jiara. Added to the way he played those scenes, it's clear that he ships jjpope.

Lastly, it's a 4-5 seasons show, so I believe no ship is going to be clear at the end of season 2, because both of them would be slow burns. So maybe they wanted to hint at both just in case because they're not sure which direction to go yet.

So I’m sorry that my post appeared in the jjpope tag. Tumblr’s tagging system is broken, but I try to tag it with antijjpope so it can be blacklisted. I suggest you do that or block me if you don’t want to see it.

I’m frankly just not sure what the argument can be at this point. You think it’s romantically coded in S1, and I do not. I��m not going to change my mind no matter what you say and I assume you aren’t either so I don’t think there is much point to this ask. I’m not saying I don’t see why anyone would ship them. I think JD and Rudy have good chem and that jjpope is a cute relationship, but as of right now I do not think it’s been written or portrayed romantically. If you don’t think JJ would have taken the fall for any of the pogues in that scene if he thought it mattered to them as much as it mattered to Pope, then I’m sorry, but I think there’s a lack of understanding of JJ’s character at work. He’s selflessly loyal. That’s his thing.

You can’t bring up Rudy mentioning JJpope once or twice and ignore all of the times he talked about how he could see Jiara being endgame. That’s just deluding yourself.

To say that Jiara isn’t romantically coded at all is also ridiculous. I’m not saying I know for a fact they were planning Jiara endgame, but the “did you tell JJ” left implications whether they meant it or not. There is a jealous shot of JJ thrown in every time Kie touches one of the other boys. JJ is into Kie and that’s just canon.

They’re not going to “hint at both” because then that would be baiting a lgbt ship and making the relationships even more stupidly complicated than they already are.

I would make this longer, but to be honest I just woke up and like I said, pointless argument. I appreciate you not being raging and hateful, but there is no need to continue this argument so if you come back to my ask box I most likely will ignore it.

Heyyy, I’m gonna tell my opinion about obx ships even if no one asked loool enjoy (please don’t attack me I’m just telling what I think)

1. John b x Sarah

Okay so I’ll start with the main ship of the show, they’re cute and their relationship is really like, passionate but I still think that it was really rushed and after one week of dating they could literally die for each other..

anyway I think they’ll be endgame because the writers kind of writed them as soulmates you know ? (I’m kinda disappointed if that’s the truth bc I ship kie and Sarah and I’m a 1000% sure sarah is bi)

2. JJ x kie

Okay so I’m not gonna lie, I used to ship them because they would make a good slowburn and all but now I don’t ship them at all loool.

Okay so first things first, imagine if kie really dated JJ, it will means that she dated all of her guy best friends and that would sexualize kiara so much so I don’t even want to think about it.

Also I think it would be so cliche if they dated because it would make kie the heterosexual main girl of the show and I realllllyyyy don’t think that kie is straight, I mean that’s kind of obvious to me 👀. Anyway in conclusion I think it’s an overrated ship and I don’t want them to be endgame :/

3. Pope x kie

I don’t really ship pope and kie because I really see them as gay besties Lmaooo

I’m sure they won’t be endgame because we’re not gonna lie, they were cute but there wasn’t ✨magic✨

So, when kie rejected pope and literally said « I want something else » she totally wanted A WOMAAAAAN and that’s on period.

I think kie kissed him at the end because they were kind of overwhelmed by so much feelings and she didn’t want to make him sad and all And I think that they’re gonna stay together until John b and Sarah tells them that they’re alive and then they’re gonna say

Okay IM done but I ship them so much now omg, their relationship is like the most important one in the show, romantic or not.

They’re so protective with each other’s that my heart hurts, I mean just the fact that jj took the fault for pope even if he knew that his dad would beat him again and even harder is a proof that he loves pope more than anything else 🥺

The MAYWARD/JJPOPE nation needs the writers to make them endgame, there’s no other choices. And btw I’m pretty sure that in season 2 jj will live with pope and they will be so cute sjlssklskzz (I read too many fan fictions someone help me)

Can't get over Kie and JJ both reacting in the same awkward way to being told "I love you."

Pope tells kie he loves her and kie is like "first of all. Thank you. That's very kind. But it's not going to work."

And then Kie tells JJ she loves him, and he's like, "what??? Um. Thanks, thats -- great? Um" and then later is like "it's not gonna work."

Just a fun little thing I noticed

I knowww. It’s also crazy to me because when Kie said she loved Jj it was so much more awkward like the added “dude” at the end. I feel so strongly about those two being gay.
