Didn't you just randomly kiss Logan a few moments ago, Jean? Are you really in the position to be jealous of a grieving father who till very recently thought that Madelyne was you and was happy with her?
I mean, cheating is bad, of course it is. Still, Jean and Madelyne are virtually nearly the same people with nearly the same memories. It'll be hard for Scott to just abandon all the feelings he had for Madelyne. She was not fake to him, and now he has to force himself to think of her as the "fake Jean" even though they had a baby together.
Wow... that got ugly really fast. You didn't have to say that, Scott. More, it was a dick move to say that Scott. But to be fair, her calling Madelyne a "cut out piece of herself" and invalidating his feelings for her was also a dick move, so I guess they're even now? Still, ugh, bad.

My only thoughts from seeing the recent pics of X-Men ‘97 series were “Is that pregnant ‘Jean’ Maddie?” and “Hey, there’s a doll for Goblin Queen. Oh….oh dear…” and I am already stressing bc from the looks of the earlier character stills and promotional images, Jean Grey looks like she is coming back, and if the animated series follows the Inferno route in the comics (which they most likely are)…
Idk, I understand that arc was iconic, but that doesn’t make me less upset about Marvel ruining Scott x Madelyne Pryor just because they wanted to bring back the status quo of Scott x Jean only to decide that was boring anyway later….
It's kind of funny how X-MEN '97 has flipped traditional character archetypes on their heads to where the nice guy/boy scout is telepathically cheating on his wife while the guy with a reputation of being a total whore is endlessly devoted to a woman he can't even touch. lol
Lot of heartache in this weeks episode of X Men 97. Jean and Scott are further driven apart and find themselves instead being drawn to others.... Logan and Madelyn. Can't say I'm surprised. I saw this coming a mile away.
but truly today's episode was really all about the love triangle between Rogue, Gambit and Magneto. EVERYTHING was finally revealed about Rogue and Magneto's former relationship before Rogue joined the X-Men.
I was waiting to hear this story, but I was not prepared for the consequences and heartache that would follow afterwards, especially for poor Gambit. I always hated when Rogue constantly turned him down before in X-Men, but this was the absolute worst thing she ever could've done to him.
Rogue did the unthinkable and completely broke Gambit's heart. "You light up everything you touch.... but never me." OUCH!!!
My heart hasn't felt this broken in a long time and I just can't believe she said that. I'm so sorry for the poor guy. Rogue made a big mistake and by the time she realized it... it was too late.
Remy died, believing Rogue never loved him and that her heart belonged to Magneto and now she has has to live with it. The pain and guilt of breaking Remy's heart and even worse, the regret she now feels of everything she said to him before he sacrificed himself to save them all.
Downright the most heartbreaking episode of X Men 97.
Now I will defend Scott and Jean to my dying breath over their actions in New X-men. But I'm so glad they changed it in X-men 97.
Instead of Jean trying to have an affair with Logan because she is spiraling and her marriage is crumbling, she is having identity and memory issues and after empathizing with Logan, she impulsively kisses him.
Instead of Scott spiraling and his therapist taking advantage of him, he is dealing with his world being rocked to its' core multiple times his son being taken from him, and is connecting with Madelyn who knows exactly what he is going through.
And as an aside, it is rather uncharitable to describe the incidents as cheating. The Jean/Logan was clearly an impulsive moment that Jean instantly regretted. And Maddy and Scott were in the process of building a life together which didn't go away just because the real Jean appeared and their baby went to the future.
