fic idea: Mei asks Scar to officiate her wedding (because monk and stuff, and it's a multicultural wedding anyway so it doesn't really matter if he doesn't know Xingese or Amestrian traditions) and he completely stops functioning at the idea because this is his little girl she's getting married

He just freezes up and Miles is like "i think you broke him" but once he gets used to the idea, he gets way into it, to the amusement of everyone involved

Him and Ed make a terrifying team when trying to make this the perfect day.

(it doesn't end up being perfect, but Al has never looked happier, and nothing is set on fire - not badly enough that it couldn't be extinguished in five seconds anyway - and Xiao Mei is the ring bear(er) and Scar gets teary eyed only after the ceremony. Miles catches the bouquet, but only because Mei is incredible at precision throwing and Riza already caught Winry's years ago and they still haven't made a move. Olivier tells them that "if you don't get married before Mustang, I'm not coming to the wedding." They do, and she does, and Mei spends weeks studying Ishvalan wedding traditions - she can't return the favor of officiating, but she's gonna organize the whole thing with all the commanding power of a princess, and - more impressively - someone who can actually get Edward Elric-Rockbell to shut up and listen to her. It's a much smaller, more private affair than Mei and Al's wedding was, mostly because they don't invite the Emperor of Xing with his entire entourage, and there's kids running around the tables, with eyes that are Xerxian gold, and Amestrian blue, and Xingese black, but also Ishvalan red, and they all dance and laugh together and Miles is so happy and it's a little piece of a hard-earned future)
