IAMO is coaching the Canadian junior champions because Carol and Alma Moir brought them up from the beginning- they’re Ilderton kids who were mediocre novices two years ago. They’re not a team Montreal sent to them, they’re a team the Moirs built from scratch. What I’m saying is that it’s quite obvious Montreal aren’t sending teams to Ontario if they think they’re going to be superstars - they turned CPom down at first when they didn’t look like becoming great. Right now Montreal treats Ontario like a feeder school. Maybe Scott is fine with that! But with Montreal being the established #1 school, if he wants his school to be on par then I think turning top international juniors into top seniors is the way to go - because right now he won’t get established great teams. That ruins Montreal’s business model!
Honestly, none of this sounds even remotely true (aside from the Canadian junior champions are Ilderton kids). There's a close very apparent collaboration between the Montreal and Ontario branches. Obviously Montreal branch is way more established, but the synergy between the schools is obvious and Scott often works with Montreal teams as well. If anything Montreal are doing the right thing by letting Ontario branch settle into things with time (which proves itself with the progress of CPom and to a lesser degree Hensen/Lickers). MIDA is a good example of a new school going way too deep over its head by getting several competitive US teams and faltering with many of them. Only B/S seem to have adjusted well to the school and they came in with Greg already as their coach if I remember correctly. Building a school takes time. Roamin have been coaching ice dance for ages (did is a vampire, you can see him in the k&c with the French team all the way back in 2008 worlds and likely before), Marie France and Partice coached very few teams at the beginning (FB/S, Adria and Sara) and then took on more teams (P/C, H/D, P/I, at some point L/LG) until they took on Tessa and Scott. At 2014 Olympics I.AM were training Hurtado/Diaz only, then in 2018 they had H/D, P/C, TS, L/LG. After 2018 it's when they really exploded and by the time we got to 2022 Olympics they had 11 teams at the Olympics.
I.AM Ontario getting time to grow is not them being "feeder school" and I would expect CPom's success which is hopefully on the horizon will make them bigger, especially post 2026 Olympics when teams are making changes.

2022 Euros entry #28
Short dance
Stepanova/Bukin(RUS)
Thoughts: I didn’t like the tassels hanging off of Alexandra’s skirt.
Hurtado/Khaliavin(ESP)
Thoughts: Sara’s side profile is a thing of beauty
Sinstina/Katsalapov(RUS)
Thoughts: Victoria did lean to the side a little in one of her turns. I’m going to miss these two though, once the suspension kicks in. Victoria’s energy and those gorgeous legs.
Free dance
Mazingue/Gaidajenko(EST)
Thoughts: the lift near the end right before the choreographic slide was my favorite.
Ignateva/Szemko(HUN)
Thoughts:  it took 2 and half minutes for me to enjoy Danil’s skating?! That almost never happens. Usually, one look at those pretty shoulders and I just melt.

“I love the Finns. I have loved that free dance all year. She is exquisite. I cannot take my eyes off her. She’s just so beautiful. I look forward to what they’re gonna do because I thought they were gorgeous all season. That rotational lift is like butter, just amazing. They cover ice well. She can’t hit a bad line to save her life and he too! They skate close together and their flow is great. They’re just exquisite, elegant, and lovely.”
— Renee Roca
“I was fortunate enough to come down to one of the practices and watch the ice dance teams… And the strength, the quality of skating from these two is second to none. They are incredible.”
— Chris Howarth
“I know Juulia and Matthias work so hard. I have actually been with Juulia at Europeans when she was still a single skater. Both of them were amazing single skaters and to now see them on the ice dance podium is incredible.”
— Kiira Korpi
