Build this Dream Together
For @wrestleprompts week 3 prompt: proposal at the beach. Title from Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now by Starship.

Pairing: Yuta/Claudio
Wheeler swings their arms as they walk down the beach, hand in hand. Claudio’s been jittery all day, jumping at the most random of sounds, and Wheeler’s been – suspicious isn’t the right word, but something close to it.
“It’s really beautiful out here,” Claudio says, his voice squeaking on the last word. “The sunset, I mean.”
Wheeler nods, kicking at the waves as they slide up the sand to his toes. The water’s still a little chilly as it splashes over his flipflops, and he jumps.
“Cold?” Claudio asks.
Wheeler nods. “A little.” Claudio grins. “Don’t you fucking dare throw me in.”
“No?” Claudio asks. “What if –” He darts toward Wheeler to take him out at the knees, but Wheeler’s faster, spearing Claudio so he falls backward into the water, spluttering as the waves crash over his face.
Not for the first time, Wheeler finds his legs straddling Claudio’s hips. He grins. “We meet again.”
Claudio laughs, and then his face fades to something akin to panic. He starts patting at his pockets, practically throwing Wheeler off his lap as he sits up and scans the surface of the water. “Shit!” he yells, and Wheeler follows his hand as he grabs a little black box. “Oh, this isn’t how I. Oh no.”
Wheeler blinks. “Is that…?”
Claudio sighs, water dripping down his face as he pushes at Wheeler. “Stand up.”
His heart racing, Wheeler does so, the chill of the ocean water gone for the way his entire body lights up. “Claudio…”
A little labored, with his soaked jeans and shirt weighing him down, Claudio gets to one knee, holding out the sopping wet box. “Wheeler,” he says, lips presenting the name the way Wheeler likes hearing it best, “you’ve made me the man I am today, you knock me into the ocean and half drown me and I like it. You ruin my painstakingly designed proposal and are ten steps ahead of me at every turn.” He pops open the box, and a little platinum ring with black diamonds inlaid around the center makes itself known.
Wheeler’s heart has never beaten this fast. Not on the treadmill, not lifting weights, not in the ring with his dad. Not ever.
“Wheeler,” Claudio says, voice so soft it feels like silk, “will you marry me?”
He starts laughing, for some reason he can’t explain, and through it says, “Yes. Fuck, yes, Claudio, I’ll marry you.” Before he lets sense take over, he dives at Claudio, tackling them both back into the waves. He’ll find sand and salt all over himself for days, but so will Claudio, and it makes him want to catch this moment and trap it in the little box.
“Let me put the ring on you first, you dumbass!” Claudio laughs as he catches Wheeler and he practically tosses him back onto the sand. Wheeler gets a zing up his spine from it. He’ll never admit it, but being tossed around is part of the reason his yes was so immediate. Claudio’s hands shake, just the tiniest bit, as he slides the ring onto Wheeler’s finger.
“Can I tackle you into the water now?” Wheeler asks.
Claudio raises an eyebrow. “Or we go back to my house and,” he wiggles his eyebrows, “celebrate.”
Wheeler leaps to his feet. “Let’s go.”
The drive home is hands and lips making dangerous decisions, but, at the red light as the pass the gym, something hits him like a train.
“Oh, my god.”
“What?” Claudio says as they stop at a red light.
Wheeler’s eyes are locked on the Moxley Daily Fitness gym sign. “I gotta figure out who my other dad is.”

Showdown 2k24 Nominations!
alright, redoing this post now that I can give a concrete start date of Monday the 15th of January!
Nominations for the tournament are open up until the start date, and you can submit anyone who could reasonable be considered a companion, either by sending me an ask or by filling out
this form.
If you make your nomination via the form you can also submit some propaganda to go alongside the poll. Anyone who was considered a regular at any point in the last year will automatically be included, as well as anyone who was in the original tournament (+/- a couple I might miss or misremember as being a regular because I don't have old lists anywhere). The exception to this is last years winner, Rose Tyler, she will not be getting a place in the main tournament, however after the final I will run a poll to see if our new winner can beat her. (oh and also maybe I'll leave the TARDIS out but not fully decided yet)
The tournament is going to be run in the same way I did @adventure-showdown, meaning I'll keep companions from different periods of the show and different mediums segregated at first so the nicher ones don't immediately get knocked out, and slowly get mingled together. The exact details are going to depend on just how may characters get included.
Errm yeah, so go wild, nominate whoever you like (as long as they are a companion). If they are from teh TV show they have to be on this list to qualify, and for EU companions I'm going with them needing a TARDIS wiki page, and also I will give them a quick proof read to make sure they pass, the bar is low but it is there
if you want to submit an alternate version of the character sorry but main version only unless you can give a really good reason, eg regenerations of a time lord
also, if they are primarily from another franchise that'll be a no
The full list of contestents is under the cut and will be updated as nominations come in. Its sorted by medium and then to be alphabetical by first name. if an eu companion exists in multiple mediums i just sort of picked one or I put them under the other category, people who exist in real life are also sorted into their own category. There are some characters under Classic Who/NuWho who were not companions on TV but were in the EU. Companions who's names are in green have had propaganda submitted for them, if they're not in green then they don't, and just because someone has propaganda doesn't mean i wont accept more

*sigh* THEORY TIME AGAIN (JD24 Storymode mentioned, of course.)
The main question: Where in the FUCK is Night Swan going?
At the end of Tainted Love, we see her and the Just Dancers (underneath her power of course) sail away to Eternyx waters. But why? People could say cause of the map ‘Sail’ and petty revenge against an ex which I could see. But we have to keep in mind- she wants to make EVERY danceverse perfect. As far as we know the only other way to go to other danceverses is via starships and portals (via the JD Wiki). One could also argue it’s cause it takes Jack Rose out of the equation (which is true, but why not convince him to pay for what he’s done and force him back to her side?).
Here’s what I think Night Swan might first stop to: The Melosia Realms.

It might be a reach but I think if Night Swan wanted to make an example of the Just Dancers, she would go after Mihaly first. Since they were the most difficult to be up against Night Swan and Sara in Swan Lake. I think if they do continue with the idea of a boat, they’ll be intercepted by Triton and most likely deal with him first. (If they do, I’ll cry.)
Next danceverse? Dancity or Sun Horizon. Again, to make an example out of Brezziana. She also was difficult in taking control over in Swan Lake so Night Swan would show her beloved fans that she influenced that their strong and ultimate coach has fallen.
Of course, Night Swan will go after danceverses like Cyberfunk, Wackygroove and Wasterra- If she even has the chance. Mostly cause after she makes an example of Mihaly and Brezziana, She would most likely try to go to Floworld or the Spacehotel and make an example out of Wanderlust to Si’ha Nova and The Traveler. Showing that he failed as a prince and protector of the danceverses, as well the fact that he failed their ‘test’. (If we remember why Si’ha Nova and The Traveler didn’t even interfere in the first place from the lore Q&A vid.)
Well that’s all that I could think of, I’ll head back to my cave now!

Fandom: The Strange Case of Starship Iris

Summary: Sara carries a glass shard in her pocket.
(Or: Sana and the Rumor, early season 2).
Sana carries a glass shard in her pocket.
It's part of the Rumor, although she doesn't know which part. It could be from any of the times she pulled the ship back together with bare hands and ingenuity and stubbornness.
She doesn't want to give it up. It's the last piece she has.
But it's not in the Rumor's nature to be static.
So, Sana pulls it out, files the edges smooth. She's weaving a brightly-coloured hanging to decorate the mess; the glass glitters in its centre.
Sana might be running, but she can still bring their home with her.

(A/N: So, one of my friends gave me the prompt "glass shard" for the Small Fandoms Drabblethon, and initially I didn't have a clear idea for it. Then, it suddenly came to me that I could marry this with an idea I've had for ages about Sana and the Rumor - drawing on her speech about how she's never had a place where every single piece of her belongs, and the closest she has is a ship she'd built herself from scraps.
There is so much to explore with Sana and the loss of the Rumor, and this is just a tiny piece (a shard, if you will ;P) but it was good to dig into. I particularly like the idea of Sana working part of the Rumor into something else, because I think that's very fitting to her hands-on, creative and resourceful approach to things.)

"Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" is a song by American rock band Starship from their second studio album, No Protection (1987). It is a power ballad duet featuring vocalists Grace Slick and Mickey Thomas and is the theme to the romantic-comedy film Mannequin.
Recorded in September 1986, the song was not perceived by Grace Slick to be "as big as" We Built this City and Sara, two singles the group had seen climb to #1 the year before. Slick had been rocking with the various iterations of the band (Jefferson Airplane, Jefferson Starship, and now Starship) for over two decades and assumed the previous album had been the long-awaited return to prominence for the group (she hadn't seen a Top 10 hit since the mid-1970s). So she was "pleasantly surprised" when the new single, propelled by the popularity of the film (which was released in February 1987, only a month after the song), also reached number one on the US Billboard Hot 100.
