Hehehehehe OF COURSE I WILL- (also tagging @joyfulness03 because they asked to hear more as well)
In pieces lol. I have a lot of thoughts- So first of all, these are the main Pokémon I thought of for Phoenix. His first Pokémon having been a Shinx, which is now a Luxray! Mostly my ideas for him were what Pokémon are blue (or vaguely blue) and have spikes?
I gave him the Shinx/Luxray because if I remember correctly they have a whole thing about being able to detect stuff through walls or some shit and that they are very loyal and I thought that fit Phoenix really well. I gave him a Lucario because it’s the whole aura thing and I thought that tired well into Phoenix using the Magatama. The Beldum/Eventual Metagross kinda also a play on the Magtama since y’know… Psychic rock? (Please ignore the fact Beldum is a Steel type not a Rock Type I know this shhhh). I gave him Latios to mirror Edgdeworth who (spoiler) has a Latias. It both plays into their mirroring of one another and Latios also acts like a big brother sort of figure to Latias and I like how that mirrors his relationship with Maya and Pearls as their sort of older brother. The Alolan Sandshew was because I wanted to give him a Sandslash because of the spikes and then I had the big brain moment where I remembered there’s a blue one. (Also tell me Phoenix doesn’t deserve a Sandshrew - you can’t. I love Sandshrew). And then I gave him a shiny Electivire. Hear me out- Electivire has like comfy dad vibes… okay? Like it gives the sesame vibes as Beanix does and I just think I deserve to give one of my favorite characters one of my favorite Pokémon (and shiny because blue accents lol)

- man has no idea what he is doing.
- The second he wakes up and you’re sick, doesn’t matter if it’s coughing, sneezing, puking, fever, ANYTHING he will panic.
- You’re his sweet baby of course he is panicking that you’re sick!
- Calls Pulmeria instantly.
- “Guzma you big dumb idiot, just get them some like I don’t know Tylenol or some shit, maybe some soup too? It’s at least somethin for them to eat, peppermint tea and chamomile can also help ease the pain and upset stomachs, and if they don’t like it put some honey in warm milk, it’ll fine, they need rest.”
- And she made the biggest mistake every telling him that and not texting it to him.
You lay in bed in pain, your nose is stuffy and you feel like death has over taken you. Guzma closed the curtains to keep the room dark for you.
You feel light headed and dizzy with the worlds worst migraine.
Only getting worse when you hear the loud shuffling of bags once guzma enters the room.
“Okay I grabbed every tea I could find cause I forgot which ones Plums said, uuhhh I think I got damn near every pill bottle I saw, cough drops, canned soup, and a few candy bars and chips for ya when you feel up for it, Plums is on her way sayin she has a bag thingy for heatin stuff and to help you.”
You can only stare at him. He’s so sweet but so loud.
“Oh and I sent some of the grunts to look around for a sandshew or Vulpix, I know you’ve been sayin you’re burnin up or gettin cold, so…yeah I’ll warm that soup for ya.”
He’s so sweet but you’re so tired “thank you.” You rasp out.
“Anything for my baby.”
- I hope you’re ready to be fed, cause guzma ain’t letting you lift a thing.
- He’s gonna sit you up and feed you himself.
- The grunts knocks are noticeably softer as they don’t want to disturb you.
- Plum brings over a small rice bag for you to ease some soreness and pain.
- One of the grunts gets wind and brings over their sandshew to help cool you down when you feel like you’re sweating buckets.
- Guzma makes sure you are taken care of as best he can.

Sandshrew are small shrew-like omnivores that dot the deserts of the world. They're non-hostile solitary creatures that are commonly seen due to being one of the few things that willingly braves the desert day. Their backs and tails are covered in a brickwork pattern of armored scales, which allows them to curl into balls for total defense. When travelling through familiar territory they tend to curl like this to travel at high speeds and hunt down termite mounds. At night they return to their burrow to dig or rest. If it's too far they will dig a new nest. Their armor is very porous and allows them to gather moisture from the air, so they hide at night to prevent overhydration from dew.
At age 7 a sandshrew's armor will begin to grow out into spines and their claws will begin to grow at a much more rapid rate, entering a stage known as sandslash. The goblin sized creature no longer stays in burrows, instead widening its territory towards the edges of the desert and staying in trees at night. They still curl into balls for offense and defense, but now prefer to run. Sandslash are considerable more aggressive, and are just as likely to leap and a threat and start slashing as they are to run. They continue their solitary life style, meeting only to mate. The single resulting sandshrew will stay with their mother for the first 6 months before setting off on its own. They live up to 40 years, but in the wild will typically live to 25
Draconic rampages, eruptions, cataclysmic flood. It takes a lot to drive a moisture-hating burrower with SAND in its name out of the desert, especially to a high snowy mountain. In some regions however, this is what happened. Somehow, the cold unlocked an innate magical spark within them. As they burrowed through the snow, young sandshrew found their armored brickwork hardening as snow grafted to their plates. While the armor was like metal, it became inflexible, stopping them from curling into balls. Instead they burrow at sight of a predator, clinging to the ground with their claws and leaving nothing exposed. If hunting or defending themselves, these "Alolan sandshrew" will instead hurl themselves at high speed, using their armor as a blunt weapon.
Alolan sandshew (why is it not snowshrew?) mature into Snowslash (I'm calling it that now and you can't stop me). Snowslash find thier packed snow armor hardening into massive spikes of ice that rise eye level with your average elf. They sprint across the icy mountain tops, curved foot long claws finding traction anywhere. While they will scurry up trees for fruits and pine cones when able, they are still omnivores and those steely claws are used for offense just as easily. Unlike their sandy ancestors snowslash have small litters of 3-6. The female will typically drive off the male to ensure the territory has the food to support her new family. While the litter will wander off at around 7 months, they will stay together until they are fully grown themselves.

Sandshrew is an easily overlooked cutie, but I think the Alolan version is less cute. Slightly. Turning the armadillo plating into igloo bricks is clever, and works pretty well, but looking slightly less organic makes it less huggable. Although I guess regular Sandshew is probably not that huggable to start with, I just like to pretend it is. That thick skin is probably hard to hug no matter what. Well, I would still hug them both.

Sooooo, quick question. My kid sister really loves ice types and wants an Alolan Sandshrew for her birthday. The only problem is we live in the desert where the coolest it ever gets is in the low 40s. In the summer it can be as hot as 100° or higher. Is this responsible? Could any ice type be happy out here? Of course this doesn't even touch on sourcing an Alolan Sandshew because every trainer out here is fire and/or ground. TYSM!
It’s possible for certain ice-types (not all) to live in the desert, but it requires quite a bit of effort on your part. For starters, it’s important to know that, as mentioned in the earlier parenthetical, not all ice-types can. Alolan sandshrew may survive because they’re mammalian pokémon native to a naturally tropic region, which means not only do trainers frequently acclimate them to warmer weather, but they’re less likely to suffer for it due to their more animalistic nature. This, of course, is in comparison with pokémon that are far more bonded to their ice element, such as members of the vanillite line, cryogonal, or snorunt’s evolutions. (Snorunt itself may be acclimated without too many issues.) Members of the snover and swinub lines may also struggle, owing to their thick, woolly coats, as will members of the amaura line (albeit that one is simply due a lack of adaptations for heat, rather than any sort of coat).
As a side note, yes, the above mentioned pokémon may be acclimated too, but they will be deeply uncomfortable or even lethargic if exposed to higher temperatures for longer periods of time. They often do not do well at all in extreme heat, though, whereas more mammalian pokémon such as Alolan sandshrew can endure it for short periods of time.
That’s where the effort comes in, really. In order to keep an Alolan sandshrew in the desert, it’s absolutely necessary that you keep its home as cold as possible, especially during the hottest parts of the day. It doesn’t have to be frigid; even maintaining a temperature of 60 to 65 will keep it comfortable. It’s recommended that you set aside a room either without windows or windows that can be sealed and covered. It’s recommended that this room be air conditioned, that a fan is kept in this space, or that a container of ice be placed here—anything to keep it cool. While your entire home should ideally be cool enough for your pokémon to wander about, this room is excellent for situations in which you don’t have enough money to keep your entire home cool—or simply situations where outside temperatures are so high that your pokémon needs some extra respite.
It’s also imperative to hydrate your pokémon and to minimize the amount of time it spends outdoors during the day. With these steps and the steps above, you should be able to keep an Alolan sandshrew comfortable and happy, yes.

IT Pokemon Teams: Bill
Bill Denbrough is the leader of the Losers Club from Stephen King's IT. In this AU he and the other children of Derry Maine have pokemon. You probably wont see pennywise here unless hes requested, in a sort of human AU. But let's get started with Bill
1. Ratatta (IT chapter 1), Raticate (IT chapter 2)
This rat like pokemon was Bill's first, caught just before he got sick at the beginning of chapter 1. After Georgie's death, ratatta tried to help Bill recover. As a Raticate, hes absolutely fearless and is Bill's fiercest protector. Despite it's own fear, it defends Bill and his friends from Pennywise.
2. Vulpix (Chapter 1), Ninetales (Chapter 2)
Vulpix was originally Georgie's pokemon and it just barely managed to escape pennywise. Like Bill it also feels an unrelenting guilt in being unable to protect Georgie, as it tried to fight pennywise and lost one of its eyes in this fight. In the final fight against pennywise ninetales tries to take one of IT's eyes in retaliation.
3. Eevee (chapter 1), Leafeon (chapter 2)
Bill found his Eevee shortly after Georgie's death. He snuck the abandoned pokemon home and his parents didnt find out until much later. Bill evolved his Eevee a while after leaving Derry. He chose leafeon because it seemed to be the most grounded of all the Eevee-lutions. One thing that united the Losers together was their love for the Eevee-lutions. Each member has a different one.
4. Growlithe (chapter 1), Arcanine (chapter 2)
Bill caught growlithe during the events of chapter 1. It became fast friends with other members of Bill's team. He only evolved it after he got the call from Mike to return to Derry.
5. Ralts (Post chapter 1), Gallade (Chapter 2)
Bill caught his ralts after the events of chapter 1, naming it George after his brother. Gallade takes on a leadership role amongst Bill's team.
6. Sandshrew (Post Chapter 1), Sandslash (Chapter 2)
Bill's sandshew is his most affectionate pokemon. It appears to be very empathic of people and other pokemon. As a sandslash its empathic abilities seem to be amplified. Sandslash seems to also be very in tune with the supernatural/paranormal.
And that was the first of the IT pokemon teams. Yeah, I'm leaning more towards the modern movies rather than the book or mini series. I think I'll do Ritchie next. I do plan to see chapter 2 very very soon. Thanks for reading!

To be honest he barely took note of the kid wandering in the desert when he went barreling past him. His attention definitely wasn’t on the moron wandering around a scorching hot desert but rather the Pokemon he was following that seemed to get further and further away. Running on sand wasn’t easy, even when you were used to it. Umbreon and Espeon were keeping up a lot better than him, inches behind snagging the fucker.
❝Vulpix, stop!❞
Of course it wouldn’t listen to him but it was worth the attempt. Calling their names usually seemed to do something but it wasn’t always a quick fix. Cole found it worked better after they started to form a bond, when the Pokemon looked to him and saw a friend, partner, TRAINER. Vulpix was to new a snag, he just ripped the Shadow Pokemon from it’s other Trainer and it didn’t see him as anything other than a thief or a burden. Someone who would keep it from killing.
He saw what it did seconds before what was going to happen registered. The poor Sandshrew didn’t even stand a chance, the moment Vulpix honed in on it the Pokemon was done for. As Vulpix tackled it, dug it’s teeth into the poor Pokemon’s back, Cole let out a string of pleasantries and picked up speed. ❝Umbreon, Espeon, get back!❞
The order was followed, his partners got out of the way and Cole full body tackled the damn fox Pokemon with everything he had. He ripped Vulpix away from Sandshew, held it close to his chest and damn if it didn’t fight against him with EVERYTHING it had. Still he get him grip tight, attempted to get it to calm down and when that didn’t work he started to dig for the Pokeball. When he finally found it and Vulpix saw it was when shit really hit the fan. The Pokemon twisted and kicked, dug it’s claws into his arms and Cole actually flinched when teeth penetrated the skin of his hand.
He hit the button on the Pokeball, watched Vulpix vanish inside and then had to physically hold the ball shut as they tried to get back out. It took about ten minutes for it to finally settle, his hand bleeding the entire time and his partners watching anxiously from across from him.
This one was going to give him a hell of a run for his money. ❝Do you guys see Sandshrew?❞
