This Pokémon came from the future by crossing over time. It is thought that so long as Celebi appears, a bright and shining future awaits us. When Celebi disappears deep in the forest, it is said to leave behind an egg it brought from the future. Grass and trees flourish in the forests in which it has appeared.

"You want to help with the Shadow Pokemon?"
Of course he's uncomfortable with that idea. Brendan hasn't had to deal with them yet, and Cole's been very intentionally keeping him from having to do that. He does his work with them away from the house, out of sight of the other and anyone else who might happen to get involved with them. He repurposed one of the old abandoned labs, kept them there, and visited often to work with them. Helping Shadow Pokemon wasn't easy. It took work, and you did get hurt when doing it.
Cole has plenty of scars from where he's been injured by them. He's needed to visit the hospital before when he's been to injured to patch himself up and far to often his partners have needed to drag him from the room before he died. Shadow Pokemon were dangerous and they were intended to be that way.
Granted there were to many for him to deal with on his own, he aquires them faster than he can help them. There's been times where he's caved and given a couple to Professor Krane to have Micheal deal with. But he tries his best not to do that. He doesn't trust the machine they use to forcefully open their hearts. Having someone on his side, like Rui, that would do it correctly would be a bit of a relief.
He picks the least dangerous Pokemon he has.

When he had Rui reach out to her Gym Leader sister Misty to voice to the other regions he was looking for aid in assisting some Pokemon--well he had been expecting adults. Expecting experience trainers who knew how to handle unruly and quite frankly dangerous Pokemon. He was not comfortable with the idea of handing off a Shadow Pokemon to some child who was just looking for a freebie.
What to do about this...
Well, he had that weird egg he picked up when he was at the Shadow pit fight ring. He could always that off that on someone else so he didn't need to deal with it. Actually, that was a really good idea. A child could handle an egg, and the kid looked old enough to be able to know the basics of at least hatching it. He was sure they'd manage perfectly fine and not get themselves killed with an egg. He was so smart.
Cole leaves them standing outside his house, he doesn't let strangers in, and vanishes inside a moment to get the egg from where Togepi was babysitting it. The little egg Pokemon had a real issue with the baby being taken away, but they'd get over it. Togepi liked being the baby pokemon in his house. With the egg in hand he opened the door to the house again and plopped it right into their arms.

"I don't owe you a damn thing, Krane!"
The entire Pokemon lab had vacated the ground floor, fleeing from the yelling and swearing. The Professor of the Orre Region took it all in stride though there was a very nervous twitch to his body the angrier Cole got. He had put an entire desk between them but it still seemed like Cole was prepared to go over it and strangle the man with his own tie. The Doctor fiddled with a Pokeball on the table, rolling it around between his hands as Cole clenched the edge of his side of the desk, muscles contracting with barely controlled rage.
For this man to insinuate that Cole owed him anything was more than insulting and if the desk hadn’t been there–he might have punched the man. Which was probably the reason the desk was between them, though it wouldn’t stop him from murdering the Professor. So long as Michael didn’t walk in, the kid might not be pleased to see someone he admired (which Cole was still baffled by) slaughtered. And Cole happened to like Micheal. Which was a rare feat so the kid should be glad.
"Wes–" His teeth ground together and Cole dragged his nails across the top of the wood. "Cole," he relented, barely easing the growing flame of rage. "It’s more like a favor will that work? You do this for me and I’ll–owe you one." The fact the man thought he had anything Cole would want was baffling. "I just need your help a little, a man of your–select skills could really aid myself and Michael." He wasn’t winning himself any points in this moment which the Professor seemed to realize as he moved to explain his plight.
"The lab was broken into and the starter Pokemon that Michael and I bred were stolen. If you don’t go to get them, he will. So I would appreciate it if you would aid us. Just this one time."

AMBUSH : for both characters to come under attack by the same enemy.
"You have some really weird villians."
Hoenn was supposed to be a break. Brendan thought it would be a good idea if he got away from Orre and spent time somewhere else. He had decided to indulge him a little bit and agree, considering all the stress he's given the other--his fiance--lately. That word still felt weird on his tongue, in his thoughts, but it was what Brendan was. Cole had done that. How the other continued to put up with him he isn't sure.
They'd visited Brendan's father in Petalburg and were walking their way through the nearby woods when they'd been more or less ambushed. Cole had been looking around with humor, remembering the time he burned the woods down as a child, when the freaks in red had appeared out of nowhere demanding something from Brendan.
He'd only been half listening if he's honest.
When they'd sent their Mightyena after Brendan and tried to bully? him into giving up what they wanted, Cole had enough and decided to end this. Cole, unafraid of reprocussions and anything else, simply walked past the Pokemon and hauled his fist back to take a swing at the criminal. He decked them in the face, heard their nose snap, and they'd collapsed to the ground unconcious.
He shook his hand, knuckles split, and stepped over the unconcious person to continue through the forest. "Seriously weird. Why are they dressed like a dog?" He turned his head a bit to look over at Brendan. "Why are you laughing at me?"

“It might be easier to explain if I show you.” He says quietly, setting his tea cup down. He places a lid on Brendan’s cup and motions for the man to follow him. Cole grabs a sweater from the closet and tugs it on to cover him up. Dressed now he headed over toward the door and grabbed the keys to his bike. He glances a bit to the side and whistles. “Umbreon, come with us. Espeon, keep an eye on Togepi and Eevee.”
As the Pokemon joined his side he stepped outside of his house and made his way over toward his bike. He tossed Brendan a helmet (he never wore one himself) and climbed onto the seat of his bike. Umbreon crawled into the cabby with Brendan, settling over his legs and Cole kicked the bike alive. They didn’t go far, he just needed a bit of space, so he takes them over to the nearby Oasis.
He parked the bike beside the water and got off of it, taking several steps away from his bike so it didn’t get damaged. When Brendan and Umbreon joined him he pulled out one of the pokeballs from his waist. “Don’t antagonize it.” He warns carefully before tossing the Pokeball into the air and letting the Pokemon inside it out.
The Minun was summoned from the ball and settled on the ground, small and seemingly unthreatening. It seemed to blink once and then suddenly covered itself in electricity and threw itself at Cole. He turned to the side, making it miss it’s volt tackle on him and then moved again when it rushed him once more. Umbreon rushed between them and glared threateningly at the small Pokemon. Unshaken the Minun tackled the bigger Pokemon and started chewing on Umbreon’s neck.
He had someone that was going to take the Minun once it was freed by the Relic Stone, but he needed to work with them to get them to that point. He turned his gaze over toward Brendan and watched him. “I found a Pokemon Fight Ring, specifically for Shadow Pokemon. This,” He motioned at Minun, “is a Shadow Pokemon. Those things you’ve seen my research on.” There was still more Shadow Pokemon there. “I got caught, imprisoned, beat up. Took us a bit to work our way out. I managed to snag Minun, but that’s it.”
It has been quite awhile, since the last time he was back inside. It immediately brought him a strong sense of nostalgia. Truth be said, he couldn't bring himself to go inside without Cole's presence in it.
He had actually dropped by several times, in hopes he would find him there. Since contacting him was impossible. Most of the time he would find the house vacant, and others he would run into the select few people Cole had asked to look after his Pokemon. The Radio silence became too much for him to handle.
He wouldn't admit anything like it out loud.
"Uhm no- I still have it with me." Brendan responded calmly, while heading towards the kitchen, where Cole was. He couldn't help but to keep staring at him. Perhaps, out of fear he would vanish once more if he blinked. "I've just been really busy in Hoenn, with the Pokemon League and all of that." He commented in the same tone of voice.
Eevee's trainer was unable to pay any mind, to what it was doing. The petite creature was intrigued by the Togepi, and just like any curious kit. It wanted to further investigate it, since Brendan didn't own anything quite like this.
"Yes, I'll have a cup of tea." He added, while setting aside his camera, and taking a seat by the counter. A pause followed it up.
"Where have you been, Cole?"
