A short little wittle SandFireGray story (Part 1? Lol maybe)

Thunderclan leader's mates prepare to take a trip for some well deserved pampering for Firestar

"Graystripe! Graystripe, hurry up! I want to get to the place before we lose the sunlight." Sandstorm mewed impatiently while waiting for the gray cat at the warriors den's entrance.

It was Graystripe who found the patch of sunlight in the forest. Normally it wasn't any different than any other patches but this newleaf it had beautiful flowers blooming around it and the fresh grass after the melted snow was quite lush too. One would think it was prepared by the Starclan themselves for weary warriors to rest in. And there are only few other warriors who deserve it more than Firestar. Who could be done giving Brambleclaw a heads up on their little trip anytime. Which means...

"Graystripe! Firestar will be here anytime now. What's taking you so long?" She looked back towards the highrock where the two cats were still talking. Even from here the large deputy seemed nervous about taking care of things by himself. Well, it was only for a day. Sandstorm was sure Brambleclaw could handle it. When she turned back she saw Graystripe walking cheerily towards her with a leaf wrap in his mouth. Instead of herbs however she could see two mouse tails poking out from the side.

"Awright! 'm gud t gw." Graystripe mewed with his mouth full.

"That's what you've been doing this whole time? Graystripe we can carry our own prey you know."

"Nowp. 'm cawrrying th fowd." This stubborn cat. There was no convincing him.

"Fine. But don't wail to me when your jaw starts hurting." Sandstorm knew the gray tom wouldn't have any trouble carrying the prey but she also thought it was belittling towards Firestar. Although she was sure the ginger warrior wouldn't take it the wrong way (might even find it cute to be honest) since these two were always quite... extra when it came to showing their affection for each other.

"Okay. I think Brambleclaw is now ready to handle things while we are gone. So what is it that you want to show-" Firestar quieted when he looked at Graystripe or more specifically the wrapped prey in his mouth. "Uhm, what have you got there Gray?"

"Fowd!" Graystripe mewed like an exited kit.

Firestar looked sideways to Sandstorm who only shrugged in response. He was more used to Graystripe's shenanigans after all.

Firestar chuckled to himself and shook his head. He realized he should've expected more from this trip when it was his mates involved.

The Comfort Patrol has been dispatched! That fire boy needs some love and support :^(

So, I wanted to experiment with backgrounds and comic format stuff - think I'm happy enough with it!

So like. On the one hand, I'm not super invested in it. It's good, I like it, but it's not really on my mind as much as other ships are. But on the other hand, I feel like the main reason it isn't canon is because the Erins were scared of censorship because the powers that be think that queer romance is inherently less appropriate.

I like it most as "I'm Sandstorm, this is my mate Fireheart and his mate Graystripe," because polyships my beloved

Sorry, I think I already asked this, and I don't want to bother you, but do Millie and Graystripe have their second litter also in this? I really ship SandFireGray, so later in life GrayMillie always was not my thing. 😁 There's a lot of possibilities for the 3 B's being some StormBrook kiddos. I also saw an idea that suggested them as Daisy and Spider babies?

I guarantee that if I tried to make them anyone else's kits, I would mess up the family tree all over again LOL. I think I would rather rewrite Millie to be less generic (granted, I haven't read the books she's in personally, but a lot of what I hear about her seems kind of... boring? I don't know, feel free to correct me on this!).

I know not everyone is fond of it, but I actually really love the idea of Millie coming in far earlier and there being a Silver x Millie x Gray thing going on. I really enjoy how their dynamic came out, though I've been a bit nervous about rambling about it. ^^; Silverstream has become a favorite character of mine through this little rewrite, she radiates such strong, independent energy that I really enjoy. I'm not sure if I'll keep it for Swifthawk's Chance, but I like to imagine she lived through to TigerClan, and openly defied Tigerstar, creating her own underground rebellion against him. I'm still debating on her death even because SILVERSTAR GUYS. But her dying to defend her Clan from a tyrannical rule, challenging Leopardstar openly, would be pretty cool.

But all that's still on the "maybe"/"still in development" stage, haha. This could all be scrapped later, I'm just thinking out loud. ;v;

(Don't ask who would replace Silverstream's life for Firestar, I have no clue, lol!)
