What figure (or figures) in your collection do you feel are the most "you" or "yours"?
(Interpret the meaning of that as you will; the most "youcore" looking figure, the one you're most attached to, a favorite character or from a favorite character designer, etc. Your pick.)
I'm giving up on the hard task of narrowing my choices down so buckle up (in no particular order):
Kamen Rider Ichigo Sakurajima ver. (Figuarts, pre-seihou): This design is still the absolute quintessential Kamen Rider to me, keeping the distinctive look of the original suit but making the colors look as bright as it feels like they were always meant to. This is what a hero of justice looks like.
Kamen Rider Black/Shadowmoon (Figuarts, pre-seihou; I think one of them is considered a V2 release but they're so old I don't totally remember): Just having these two on the shelf together brings to mind just how genuinely tragic their rivalry was in Black. There's plenty of really good themes in Showa Rider, but I've rarely gotten the same sense of reality from it that the conflict between these two had. Their designs are also just certified classics, at the end of the day.
Kamen Rider Kuuga Ultimate form (Figuarts, pre-seihou, old enough to have die-cast feet): If you know, you know.
Kamen Rider Kabuto (Figuarts, seihou): Kabuto was the very first Rider show I watched all the way through, so it'll always have a special place in my heart just because of that. It's also just a beautiful suit, and having a version of it that looks like it stepped right out of the screen is pretty special to me.
Kamen Rider Den-O Liner form (Figuarts): The thematic throughline of Den-O made tangible.
Mordred (1/7th scale statue from Goodsmile): Not technically a figure, but. Possibly my favorite character of all time rendered in a level of quality and detail that still awes me. It's almost certainly the most expensive thing in my collection, but I can't say it wasn't worth it.
Honorable mentions (figures I really like but don't have anything specific to say about): Amazing Yamaguchi Revoltech Spider-Gwen, Lightning Collection Dekamaster, Kamen Rider Kuuga Rising Mighty form (Figuarts, Seihou)

You should do an ichigo tierlist that ranks all the designs of ichigo, including the ones directly homaging him like aqua and ichigata.
So I was making a list of all the things that could possibly count as this (to me at least), and this is what I came up with
Original Colours #1
Original Colours #2
Sakurajima #1
Shin #1
Shin #2
Shocker Riders
Skyrider
Black
#1 (The First)
#2 (The First)
#1 (The Next)
#2 (The Next)
Core
Aqua
#3
#1 (Kamen Rider 1)
Zero-One
Ichigata
Another #1
Century
Shin Kamen Rider
Now here's the problem.
I would put most of these in S? There's a few I don't like like Core, and I'm not super crazy about #2 in The Next; but... these are all really REALLY good! The ones that are in larger series I'd rank as some of the best designs in those shows and the ones that are the singular Rider in their thing I'd call some of the best designs in the franchise. This is a really strong list of Rider Designs for the most part and a tier list from me could not meaningfully rank them lol

Like Legos? I guess that means Figure Rise is a type of plastic model kit. But does it need assembling and painting? Or just assembling? And do the parts need to be snipped off with tools and filed down?
It's really long overdue for me to finally watch an unboxing vid and find out what the Figure Rise line is about. ~.~;
youtube
The other day, I suggested to my brother to try looking for Figure Rise versions of Kamen Rider Ichigo and Nigo, because by now, their S.H.Figuarts have raised in after-market price so much. The Figure Rise line is fairly new, so hopefully it's not too expensive yet. But my brother hates having to DIY anything. I don't think he'll actually snip, file, and assemble pieces. ~_~;

Finally, took me long enough to finish this. Thank you XIG Fansubs for subbing all 98 episodes and 2 movies.
Now I’m just going to go over what I thought was good and what was bad. The first thing I list will be the best, the last thing I list will be the worst. Like a spectrum going from best to worst.
GOOD
The Protagonists: Easily the best thing in the show. While they don’t really develop, except Takeshi but we’ll get to that, they were all pretty complex and enjoyable to watch. Takeshi was the smart and cool-headed one. Hayato was more playful and carefree, but a hot-head when it came to fighting Shocker.
Tachibana and Taki: These two were the Rider’s closest allies, and it shows. While being a fun old man to hang around with, Tachibana actually helped both Hayato and Takeshi, through his training and mentoring. While Taki wasn’t as important as Tachibana, he still had very nice relationships between both Tachibana and Taki. It also helps that Tachibana sees Takeshi as the son he never had.
Many things from the Gel-Shocker arc and forward: The episodes once Gel-Shocker was introduced were some of the best, giving really good character moments. Although there are some things that do bog it down, I still find it to be the best episodes in the show.
The Crazy Situations: This series has it’s wild and goofy moments. While it’s not always wild thing after wild thing, it’s interspersed so it’ll give you a nice surprise. Best moment was when Takeshi was hanging off a cable car.
Goro Ishikura: If I had to choose my favorite side character other than Taki or Tachibana, it would be this kid. Goro in a sense is like a brat with a heart of gold.
MEDIOCRE:
The Youth Rider Squad: Ok, it’s weird. Well not really. The Youth Rider Squad seems more like an excuse on why Takeshi/Taki/Tachibana/Hayato would be easily informed of Gel-Shocker attacks rather than Takeshi stumbling upon it or reading it in the news. While there weren’t bad, none of the members got developed in a sense, not even Naoki or Mitsuru. We had one episode dedicated to the formation of it and a few episodes later it’s grown to all over Japan. Why not have a subplot being dedicated to the growth of the Youth Rider Squad. Also, they had communicators but still used the pigeons. It’s dumb.
Takeshi’s IQ, Taki’s FBI status, and Hayato’s Photography: All of these just seem to be brought up, only for it to be disregarded in a few episodes. Like Takeshi uses the fact that he’s a biochemist more than his IQ, although, his IQ might play a part in how he’s a biochemist. Taki’s FBI status barely gets brought, although there are some episodes involving FBI stuff, and seems more like an excuse on why Taki can fight. Hayato’s Photography get’s brought up like once or twice. These could’ve been great ways to learn more about our heroes. An episode dedicated on how Takeshi became smart, how Taki got into the FBI or why Hayato wanted to become a photographer.
The Shocker Rider Arc: This arc was ok. There are a few problems I have with it. Why haven’t we heard the Anti-Shocker Alliance before? How come one training session was enough to defeat the six Shocker Riders even though they are as strong as the Kamen Riders? How come the woman thinks Kamen Rider has always worked for Gel-Shocker even though that it’s was very likely that Gel-Shocker created a new Kamen Rider? How come Taki and Tachibana came to the rescue of “Kamen Rider” despite him knocking them out in the previous episode? There are more questions, but the one thing that bogged it down is the whole thing on the data behind the Great Leader, it actually made me stop and question what was going on.
The subplot of Takeshi accepting his cyborg nature: My main problem with this is that it just kinda got dropped out of nowhere. It was an interesting subplot, but suddenly Takeshi learned to accept himself out of the blue. It’s kinda odd.
The Power-Ups/New Suits: It’s never explained how Takeshi gets his new suits, specifically to the fandubbed Sakurajima 1 and his iconic look, Shin 1. Sure it’s in written material how he got Shin 1, but it wasn’t in the TV show. It just irks me more than annoys me.
The Shocker/Gel-Shocker Commanders: These guys were boring. They didn’t do anything until they fought Takeshi/Hayato. Here’s an idea, why don’t all of Colonel Zol’s cyborg's wear badges of war? Make Doctor Shinigami’s cyborgs look like they were stitched together by a mad doctor? Ambassador Hell reference other countries, like an Ambassador. General Black’s cyborgs... could wear cool hats? My main issue with them though is that they all kind of have the same personality and we barely get to know them. Maybe have episodes dedicated to their backstory or make Doctor Shinigami a psychopath.
The Other Side Characters (minus Goro and to an extent Chokko): Everyone besides Goro and Chokko had no personality. And there were so many of them. and none of them got proper exits. I guess Ruriko was there, but I can’t remember if there was anything besides wanting revenge for her father’s death.
BAD
Shocker’s an idiot sometimes: Sometimes they have really great plans, sometimes they have really stupid ones. Also, the fact that the Great Leader acts like one is an idiot as well. Never forget the time he punished Ambassador Hell for doing exactly what he told him to do.
The Finale: There are some things bad I find in the finale, so I’m just going to go over them.
General Black’s defeat: Really, he didn’t even have an epic fight. He was dealt like any other monster of the week.
The whole reviving the dead monsters: Yea, this would’ve been much more threatening, if it wasn’t done around 3 times beforehand. You know how you could’ve made this even more threatening? BRING BACK EVERY DEAD MONSTER SHOCKER/GEL-SHOCKER HAD.
Reveal of the Great-Leader’s true identity: This subplot was introduced in episode 34, and when it’s finally revealed, we still don’t know a damn thing about him. Is he human? How did he get that form? How did he become the leader? Does he have a name? Seriously, this was the show’s longest subplot, and it failed horribly.
The death of the Great Leader: He doesn’t even put up a fight. It was lame and anti-climatic.
Overuse of Monster of the Week Formula: To be honest, the show was kinda predictable once you watched the first few episodes. A Cyborg attacks, Takeshi learns about it, Takeshi investigates, Takeshi fights the cyborg, the cyborg flees, more cyborg attacks, Takeshi investigates, Takeshi fights the cyborg, Takeshi defeats the cyborg. Wash, rinse, repeat. It kinda made the show boring.
Overall, I’d give the show a 4/10, It’s not average, but not bad, somewhere in between. There are some good moments in the pre-Gel-Shocker episodes, but they're interspersed throughout the episodes.

Kamen Rider episode 49 [Torrent] [Script] [DDL] The pictures say it all. Hongo is back in Japan, tracking the deadly SeaAnemone from Africa! Rider 1 and Rider 2 are back in action, together! What more do I need to say? Double Rider action, and that awesome Sakurajima Rider 1 costume. Speaking of Sakurajima, today we’re gonna talk about something called PRODUCTION ORDER! You might not know this, but the episodes you see weren’t necessarily produced in the order they’re broadcast. The series producer (or sometimes the TV station) decides on what order to show the episodes, and unless they’re two parters or season finales, it’s pretty much anything goes. This is why many modern shows use the two-part formula, it helps them maintain better control of which episodes get shown at what time (also tighter production schedules, toy release windows, etc...) ANYWAY, the episode we’re watching today was ACTUALLY filmed along with the Sakurajima episodes, hence the costume, sleeker Cyclone, and the fact that Hongo’s guest appearance isn’t treated like a big deal.... because, according to production order, we would have just seen him in the Sakurajima episodes! If you’d like to know more about production order, feel free to ask us! Or check the Japanese wikipedia entry for production order! We’ll be back next week with episode 50!

GD-46 Kamen Rider 1 - Sakurajima Ver
- from Souchaku Henshin
  Kamen Rider
- by Bandai
Quick Shot
Released in 2002, this retro-throwback figure is now a retro figure in its own right.
A diecast metal armor change toy that serves as the progenitor of the SH Figuarts line - after all, the "SH" stands for "Souchaku Henshin"
Still one of my favorite figures of Rider 1, after all these years. And my favorite version of Rider 1 - from the Sakurajima crossovers.
