Personality: I tend to keep to myself unless someone comes up to me and starts a conversation (a lot of people say I'm very intimidating when they first meet me for some reason 😂). I tend to be slightly reserved with someone until I'm comfortable with them, then I'm a massive dork (I love to joke around and make people laugh). I am very empathetic, always trying to keep the people around me happy (even if I'm not in the end) I hate disappointing people so I can over work myself sometimes. If someone is rude or annoying me I tend to get very sassy and sarcastic. I am very protective of my friends and love ones and get very angry if someone hurts them. I'm also a very calm person and it takes a lot for me to get angry/snap. I also sleep a lot....like a lot, unless it's during the school year then I tend to get like three hours lol (it's a running joke in my friend group that I never sleep). sometimes I stop in the middle of talking because I think I talk to much (I've been told many times that I do so I just try not to really talk in a way)i play with my hands a lot, I have a really high pitched (idk sorta cute?) sneeze, I can be very clumsy (I literally tripped on air once😂) when I do something scary my hands shaky after I've done the scary thing (if that makes any sense)

I like reading books, writing, listening to music (mostly kpop). I love love to dance (again mostly kpop). And even though I hate being in front of crowds I do like doing shows where I dance (I've done it multiple times with my friends at school events😊). I love doing my makeup especially crazy colored eye shadow. I love to be outside also. I also like to go on car rides in the middle of the night (I love going to get food then sit in a random parking lot).

I dislike rude people, heights (I have a fear of falling from them) and peaches (I hate peaches)

Aren Kuboyasu

He would most definitely approach you. Probably to challenge you at first because of how people are intimidated by you.. once you open up this man is the proudest person on earth. The fact that Someone is actually comfortable around him. Aren will feel so regular around you. Every time you make a joke or smile around him he feels like he doesn’t beat up people. Your empathetic side causes Aren to think more about his choices.

Aren is actually so bad at convincing that it convinces people to give up. Because Aren is trying to change he is putting up a consistent effort to be polite to everyone no matter how angry he gets with them. I don’t think you’ll have to worry about protecting Aren much. I wouldn’t recommend stopping mid-conversation with Aren because he’ll think he did something wrong. Aren will melt at your sneezing and hand fidgeting. Aren is really big into music. He likes using it to express himself. Aren would pickpocket some kid to get money for your food… Aren tries not to be too rude around you and in general. One of the only things Aren is scared of is heights. He can’t stand them. Stem would be really into K-pop and he would love the song run away but his favorite song is cat and dog - txt.

All Michiru and Kaoru want is to experience normalcy and the beauty of life with their friends Saki and Mai. Sadly, being ex-agents of Dark Fall makes this difficult in more ways than one.

The Plot

Saki, Mai, Michiru, Kaoru, and Minori all go to the zoo so Minori can draw animals, but the Kiryuu sisters have something weighing on them. Eventually we see in a flashback that they had a talk with Princess Filia about their conflicted feelings of wanting to be with Saki and Mai but belonging to Dark Fall, and she tells them that since they were revived using powers from both worlds, the destruction of either the Land of Spirits or Dark Fall could result in their own death. They don’t know what to do, and they haven’t told Saki and Mai about this, but Miss Shitataare and Dorodoron attack the group and reveal this secret. Their friends are understandably upset, and their attacks falter, but Michiru and Kaoru remind them that the cures themselves taught them that staying strong in spirit can allow someone to change their fate, that Saki and Mai fought for them, and now they want to believe in their friends. With new resolve, they manage to defeat Dorodoron, while Miss Shitataare retreats to fight another day. On the way home, Minori shows everybody the drawing she made of the monkeys, except that the monkeys’ faces have been replaced with Saki, Mai, Michiru, and Kaoru.

The Analysis

The existential crisis that M and K are now in is heartbreaking. Since they’re imbued with power from both sides, the destruction of either light or darkness could destroy them. That’s a huge burden to shoulder, and their body language throughout the episode shows they aren’t taking it well. However, they want to believe in a way forward, in defying their fate, like Saki and Mai taught them! Fundamentally that’s what their character arc has always been about, and I’m glad to see it brought up again. Even knowing that they might be fighting towards their own destruction, they continue to battle against their former allies and help their new friends, because it’s what their hearts tell them is right.

Unfortunately, there’s some aspects of this plot that don’t sit well with me. Michiru and Kaoru essentially come from an abusive household. Like many survivors, they have feelings of guilt about leaving, because they have been told all their lives that this is where they belong and their only purpose is to serve Akudaikaan as thanks for creating them. This is the line that all the generals of Dark Fall shoot at them, that they should be grateful to him. Possibly due to the age of the show and cultural differences, the narrative does not acknowledge that this is an abuse tactic, and instead pushes messages like “they’re a family, they’ll make up with each other,” via the monkeys. This hits the girls hard, and makes them feel more guilt for not trying hard enough to persuade their father figure that they don’t support his actions. The message about changing one’s fate doesn’t seem like a counter to the idea about families belonging together, and maybe if they had tied those closer together I wouldn’t have as much objection. As it stands, it’s kind of a sour note for this episode.

The art direction here is all over the place. The characters range from adequate to just bad, with a few shining moments in close-ups. However, there are some great moments with the animation, such as this pan out and in as the Kiryuus are told that destroying Dark Fall might destroy them too:

Their faces remain well-detailed in close-up rather than literally zooming in on the far model, the camera shifts perspective, it’s a well, composed shot.

It seems way too late in the show for fairy gags. They’re never terribly funny, someone speaks up at a bad time and their partner has to act silly to cover up their identity. At this point, Flappi and Choppi should know better. There are some good things to come out of this, though, in the form of Minori’s reaction to Saki and Mai acting goofy and imitating their fairies’ voices.

Also it gives Mai an opening to talk to Saki, explaining that she’s noticed the Kiryuus seem strange. We know Mai is fairly observant and it’s a nice touch.

If there’s a downside to the revived generals arc, it’s that the revived generals... kinda suck, as characters. Their personalities were often paper-thin but now they’re reduced to archetypes. Or maybe these two in particular are just a bad matchup, as Miss Shitataare’s penchant for pointless disguises gets in the way of Dorodoron’s usually decent strategies. Point being, I didn’t like them in this episode, and I’m sorry to see Dorodoron go out like this. He was funny when he teamed up with Karehaan and was like “I’m not getting beaten today, no thank you!” so for this to be how he goes..... it was underwhelming. That shot of him dive bombing is pretty cool though.

Last point of note, Michiru and Kaoru still don’t have any clothes of their own, they wear their school uniforms to the zoo. I really wish they would at least spend half of an episode going shopping, that would be a fun avenue for some character growth as they get to express themselves with clothes for the first time. They seem a little out-of-place wearing the uniform everywhere. Also, I don’t think it is ever explained where they live now, and that seems like an oversight.

Speaking of the uniform, it’s winter now and the cold weather addition to the YJH uniform is a crossover coat of about the same shade of tan as the winter top, with two rows of buttons and the Yuunagi logo on the left. In contrast to the Verone winter jacket, which was a different color from any other component of their uniform, this blends in much more seamlessly.

In summation, I do like this episode, I just think they aren’t handling Michiru and Kaoru’s ties to Dark Fall very well. Someone needs to come out and say they don’t owe him their loyalty or compassion or anything just for creating them, but they won’t. I don’t think. We’ll see where things go.

Next time, it’s an episode I kind of already talked about! It’s Christmas time, and love is in the air! Look forward to it!

I’m typically more quiet, but once you get to know me, I joke around a lot and can be pretty sarcastic. i get anxious quite easily but I’m good at using jokes to cover it. I’d rather stick to myself but I love my small little group of friends. hi !! can i please get a tpn, saiki k, and sk8 the infinity matchup? im a girl, prob 5'1 or 5'2, an enfp and i act pretty shy, awkward and quiet when i meet new people and often takes really long to open up, but once i am comfortable, i act very chaotic, humorous, sarcastic, and laid-back (a lil clingy too 😞😞). i even like giving affection if im that comfortable with the said person, im really shameless to showing affection to people when i really love them. i really like writing, long car drives, trying on clothes, teasing my friends lightheartedly and things that would make me feel extreme andrenaline (regardless if i'd get extremely injured or not), because i often have randomly have energy boosts. i can also be a people pleaser sometimes. my goals in life is probably spend a ton of money for alot of carnival rides w/ some friends, skate in any way (roller skate, figure skate, etc.). i dislike getting ordered around or getting told things multiple times, slow stuff, thunder storms, bugs/insects, headaches, judgemental people, and things that discourages or makes me umotivated. im also really caring to my loved ones when they get sick, I'd most likely be checking up on them every 3 minutes or every 30 minutes, it depends.

i have thick black hair that is armpit length, light brown skin, and dark brown eyes, my style for clothes are probably casual, or anything comfortable really, as long as it looks good to my eye, I'd wear it!

my love languages are probably words of affirmation, quality time and acts of service, i really like giving them to people i care about, romantically or not—i enjoy expressing my care and love for them, to the point there probably isn't a month that passed without me saying how i appreciate my loved one.

Norman is kinda awkward and quiet himself but when he meets others that are quiet the opens up faster. Norman has so many chaotic friends that you would fit in perfectly! The laid-back part though would be quite refreshing!

Norman will never seek out a hug or head pat but he definitely doesn’t mind if you give him one! Norman definitely likes bonding with others for long periods of time. Norman doesn’t need much to be please so you won’t have to work too hard. Norman would love to go on carnival rides, but please no spin rides he can and will throw up. Norman knows how angry people can get when ordered around so he wouldn’t even try. Norman had Emma do a boost of adrenaline would do little to affect him… Norman would do anything to keep you motivated. Norman compliments people so sincerely it could probably make anyone cry. Honestly, Norman is thankful for practically anything you do for him...

Norman would start giggling if you picked him up and spinner him around. Norman is more one that bottles up emotions so you won’t have to comfort him very often or at all.

Teruhashi Kokomi

Teruhashi thinks you are so pretty! She has to talk to you, and once Teruhashi wants to talk to someone you don’t have much of a choice. Teruhashi is used to people being all nervous and confined around her! She thinks your personality is adorable. Since she’s so protected chaotic friends make her feel more normal.

Teruhashi is so happy when you give her affection but she doesn’t expect you to do it the time. Teruhashi loves spending time with you so long cars rides are absolute. Trying on clothing is Teruhashis' main hobby! Teruhashi is always at least a little hyper so she wouldn’t even notice the small energy boosts. Teruhashi could never order people around! Teruhashi may get millions of compliments but sincere compliments from you mean more to her than anything. Takahashi hets so many empty gifts and compliments that you will mean so much to her. Langa is a mix of both shy and awkward, so to him… you're like a Langa well at least at first. He will hang out with you a lot so be prepared. Reiki at first doesn’t expect you to open up, but when you do? Nothing changes.

Once you open up? Good luck prying Rekis cold dead body away from you. He will laugh at any joke even if it wasn’t a joke. Reki would love your physical affection, but he doesn’t expect you to give him physical touch every day all the time. Long car rides are like a monthly activity.

Reki loves to take you to wife places that are far away. Reki is always so energized he might not even notice an energy boost. Reki + carnivals = the wildest experience you will ever have. Reki goes way too fast and I mean WAY too fast. He absolutely hates people telling him what to do. Rekis personality is motivating in itself, to be honest.

Reki would be so proud and happy that you would give up even small words or things to him. If you tell him he looks decent today? His confidence has blown through the roof. Reki adores spending quality time with you. He will literally cry tears of joy if you picked him up and spins him around. He would definitely not mind the way you comfort him.

hi! can i please have an ouran, saiki k, and/or sk8 romantic matchup? i'm a trans gay guy, he/they, infp, and 4'10". i'm very shy, quiet, and i get easily startled, but i consider myself smart. my giving/receiving love language is physical touch and only giving is acts of service, and i enjoy being held and/or picked up. i enjoy art (reading, writing, photography, etc) and language learning. my favorite season is fall. i have anxiety and autism and have difficulty expressing my emotions. tysm!

This guy cares for you so much he makes sure that Honey isn’t too pushy and Tamaki respects your boundaries. Takahashi makes sure that people aren’t too overwhelming around you and he tried to make sure your environment is comfortable.

Takahashi obviously doesn’t mind physical touch sense he has Honey jumping on him. (And he’s rich so gimme that cash✅) Takahashi loves reading and thinks that creating art is an amazing talent to have. Takahashi believes fall colors are very calming and so he like sitting outside during the fall.

Takahashi will always try his best to make sure you are getting any help you may need and he has trouble expressing emotions at times so he tries to pay attention to how you feel. Takahashi is very kind and puts a lot of effort into your relationship in an attempt to bond.

Aren Kuboyasu

Aren tries very hard to be calm and sociable, especially around you. If someone makes you unhappy oh gosh their day is going down the drain... Aren makes sure he is too angry around you so he doesn’t startle you. He needs someone smart to tutor him. 😋

Langa would at first question the point of gifts in a relationship but then he would quickly understand the point man just needs a little guidance...

Langa loves writing stories and reading them as well. recommend a book? and he’ll read it within a week. Langa already knows English and Japanese so there’s a good start there! While Langa's favorite season is winter he likes fall only because it leads up to winter.

Langa is a little nervous to talk to new people but as soon as he does he connects well, especially with quiet people. Langa's presence is very comforting. Langa expresses his emotions rarely and he doesn’t expect you to go out of your way to express your own emotions.
