Next to the romantic scenes, my favorite part is when Kudo goes straight to the Saimori family and tells them, "I am marrying her, but you get nothing from me if you don't make amends after how you treated her."

I don't think Kudo even expects an apology to do as much healing as many may initially think. I think he knows the apology won't be sincere. He said himself that they only did what they did because they're vindictive. What he WANTS is for Miyo to get an apology out of RESPECT, for her to see that she is WORTHY of being the one getting apologized to, NOT the one doing the apologizing. Because Kudo knows SHE doesn't need to apologize for anything at all. The Saimori family are the ones who should grovel. And even then, I'm sure Kudo has a plan to demand that they had BETTER treat his bride with utmost respect, or they will pay for the consequences.

Kudo is even better than what most think of in terms of a knight in shining armor. This man is in love with a woman who is a victim of extreme abuse, someone who is still dealing with the trauma, and he is absolutely going to be her champion so she can learn to recognize how important she is and ultimately stand tall all on her own. Of this, I have no doubt.
