Anime Expo 2019: Original Expectations vs True Reality

So on the account that I’m fat and dumb with piss poor planning skills there’s going to be a bit of change to what I wanted to do for Anime Expo (and SabotenCon this year).

Well originally I had the attention of having new cosplays for the year. Namely for AnimeExpo I was hoping to have new cosplays as Braig (Kingdom Hearts: Birth by Sleep) and Blackwatch!Moira/Gangster!Ashe (Overwatch).

However I didn’t collect money properly as I should have. I only just near the amount to pay on my hotel and I still need to get money for spending and eating. Not to mention an Lyft/Super Shuttle and what ever is even going on with my plane ticket. I’m tired and feeling like an amazing amount of shit about this but trying to keep my head up.

So....let’s look at this in the more positive light that I’ve been trying. If things go well enough with money I should be able to manage one cosplay for the year (AX 2019 and Saboten 2019). I think I would choose Braig. Just because of Kingdom Hearts 3 I’m more up for a KH cosplay right now. And he would be the easiest I think. Sadly I don’t know much about sewing because I can’t sew I pay someone for the outfit and I focus on making/gathering accessories and props. Out of the all the characters he has the least components and the least fabric to work with. At the least I have the pattern for this cosplay anyway (or at least the top half).

However (and my mom had to point it out) by not cosplaying (outside of the minor additions and changes to two old cosplays) I would be able to have more spending money. And yes my mom had to point that out for me cause I was stuck on things and despondent (and still am, but about different things) about my convention woes. And it would be great to have a good amount of spending money. 

So that’s what I’m looking at. Hopefully something works out and I have fun when I go. At the very least I hopefully lose some weight past what I’ve been habitually losing and gaining in an infinite loop.

Backstage for the Saboten Skit Contest, almost showtime!

Wow, can't believe how fast time flies! Saboten 2019 is now over, and while it was quite the rollercoaster of a weekend, I wouldn't want it to be any other way. I had a wonderful time with the bestest of friends a girl could ever ask for, we worked so hard on our Masquerade number and gave a stellar performance. It felt like freakin' Pringles, 'once you pop, you can't stop'! XD I'm already looking forward to future performances.

I also did the Skit Contest and it further reaffirmed my love & desire to be on the stage. I'm excited to audition for local theatres sometime in the near future.

It was wonderful getting to meet new people too, as well as seeing some familiar faces. :)

Bumped into Mary Elizabeth McGlynn and Steve Blum in the elevator on the last day! Such a power couple & always so sweet! ^_^ <3

All in all, so many positives and great times this past weekend! I had a blast and I can't wait to do it again next year!

Anime Expo Cosplay Aspirations

I’ve wanted to cosplay him for years now and with the��“final” Kingdom Hearts game coming out this year it feels like an even more perfect time to do so

One of these. I’m not quite sure which one. I’m still more Moira leaning, but if I can’t figure out her tube and harness it’ll be Ashe.

Old

I really want to cosplay Raidou again though with a few updates. I want to get the fastener on his cape changed and have a purple lining added to the inside of it, mine is just black. Also I want to figure out how to do a proper harness and holster for him. My mom was a great help in making my first one but it still fell apart sadly.

Saboten Con Cosplay Aspirations

Either Nora or Vaporeon. Honestly if I don’t switch Vaporeon over to Anime Expo it’ll probably be Nora cause I plan to be at a booth for this con so I would like it to be comfortable even if it’ll be colder. (Or maybe someone else in that case cause I hate the cold.)

Old

Honestly this cosplay is completely ready to go. At the most I might have to re-order the wig, but it’s all good.

So these are what I’m looking forward to do. I’ve got til now to a little in next month to change my mind. I say this cause I can’t so for shit so someone will be making my costumes for me and will be focusing on the props. Still have plenty of time before July and September.

Also there may or may not be some group cosplays happening. idk yet.

Right now I need to work on my weight loss and figuring a few things out.
