tbh, the absolute best scene in The Final? was Kenshin and Soujirou teaming up to beat up those mooks.
the choreography, the acting, the music, Soujirou's character development

Anyone wanna discuss the latest chapter of Ruroken? I have some conflicting feelings and I’m not sure how I feel about it. (Tagging @animaniacal and @whiteplum since they’re the only ones on my dash that I know of who have kept up with the Hokkaido arc.)
Spoilers ahoy!
Those scans above were the moment I broke down crying reading the manga the first time I read it (and any time I reread it tbh). Kenshin passing on the sakabato to Yahiko with the encouragement to exceed him - to surpass the legendary Battosai - just chilled me to the bone (in a good way!). This moment was, for me, one of the most powerful and cherished moments I’ve ever felt reading a work of fiction.
I am excited about the new RK and am doing my best to reserve judgement until more of the story unfolds, but I have to admit that this latest chapter sort of put a damper on my enthusiasm in a way I guess I should've seen coming. I mean, it wouldn’t really be Kenshin without him carrying the sakabato, but it seems kind of deflating to have such a loaded and emotional scene in the last chapter of the old manga be somewhat undone six months later with Yahiko being like “here’s your sword that you entrusted to me I’m not really good enough to surpass you after all haha”.
Did anyone else feel this way? It’s clearly a temporary thing (with Kenshin saying something like “I guess we’ll only be together a short while this time”), so I’m hoping we see it back in Yahiko’s hands eventually and the onus of its mastery on his shoulders once more, but I’m afraid there will be more moments like this in the new arc that undermine the old story a tad. Also, two things:
1) I’m still really salty that his hair is long again I liked short-haired Kenshin ;_;
2) Calling it now: There is no way Kenshin is making it out of this story arc alive and I am not happy about it one bit. :(

Okay, so I was tagged by @impracticaldemon to do this. You need to pick 10 favorite gals from 10 different fandoms and then tag 10 people. And simply listing off names isn’t me, soooo....
Anyhow, in order from left to right
Hakuouki: Sen!!!!! (But I adore Chizuru to pieces, so…)
Destiny: Petra Venj (I erm…may have had a slight crush on her when her face was revealed.)
Legend of Zelda: Mipha. I love Mipha so much, omggggggg. (But Zelda has many other fantastic females, as well.)
Resident Evil: Jill fuckin’ Valentine.
Star Wars: Jyn Erso. I’d marry her if I could. But Leia definitely gets an honorable mention.
Batman/DC: Stephanie Brown (Spoiler/Batgirl). She’s always been a favorite of mine, honestly.
Harry Potter: Hermione Granger. Personally, I always liked the chemistry she had with Harry.
RuroKen: Kamiya Kaoru. Her reaction to Kenshin leaving was absolutely absurd, but I still love her.
Bioshock: Elizabeth. She is perf and I adore her so much.
Marvel: Peggy Carter. She’s badass, what can I say?
Okay so I tag @thereluctantherosrose, @alwayskeepwalking, @delsinsrowes, @iwakistrashwife, @christinyaa, @deepmushrooms, @beyondsympathy, @homeoftheunderrated, @meredith-stannards and @warpriests. :D

Interesting challenge: explaining the plot of Rurouni Kenshin: the Legend Ends without going into massive infodump mode for the Bakumatsu and the Meiji Restoration Era.
I realized about a sentence in that I can’t just infodump like I do for my mom and sister because the question was “What movie are you watching?” and “What’s it about?” but she is also not the friend who already studies this period in history so I can’t just drop the terms and expect her to know what they mean.

So in the process of reading that little two-chapter RuroKen spinoff that (apparently) leads into Hokkaido arc via Shounen Jump/VIZ, I also got the two part manga lead-in to the new Yugioh movie, so I’ve read that too annnd....honestly it’s actually made my outlook for that new film..worse.
(if interested, you can get both bonus issues that contain the entirety of those two-part stories  -  the Dec. 19 2016, and Jan. 2nd, 2016 issues -  in digital right now on the VIZ sight, each is only $0.99!)
Read more because kinda manga lead-in spoilers?
Just because of the story that they seem to be building up. In short, it honestly looks like something...reaaaaally similar to the first movie (yeah remember that trainwreck lol) I mean I shouldn’t be surprised that it’s a Kaiba vs. Yugi (or Kaiba at least trying to vs. Atem) thing, that’s a huge underlying theme of the entire series...but that’s just it. WE’VE SEEN IT. TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH AND BACK. WE. HAVE. SEEN. IT. It’s such an easy theme to just pull out of the hat that it just feels like a cop out now. I mean I could see the rivalry still being there, no prob with that, but I was hoping the duel we saw in the trailers was maybe just being used for looks and wasn’t the main deal. Maybe start it with that in the very beginning, make that the thing they set out for initially, but then give us another grudging team up or something, only not only-at-the-end but actually as a major part of the premise, that could be interesting. It’s also been done before, but not NEAR as much as the one they’re so far pitching at us. And grudging team-ups can be a lot of fun and make way for interesting interactions and developments. Idk...I just...I hope I’m at least a little wrong. I really do. I hope it does something to kind of surprise me. ...still might go see it, I believe a local theater is one of the ‘select locations’, it’ll be the sh**y 4K version, but could still be a fun nostalgia experience to take my friend to. And I know at least some of the visuals will be enjoyable (I think I heard my fav art director from the anime is back on this one. FREAKIN STOKED)

Rurouni Kenshin: The Final, Megumi/Sanosuke
~
These people… Each and every single one of them is going to be the death of me, Megumi thinks, half in worry, half in exasperated fondness.
She looks down at Sanosuke, unconscious, bandaged up to his teeth, and reaches over to brush the hair out of his closed eyes.
“Ken-san will definitely find Kaoru-san and bring her back,” she says, though whether to herself in reassurance, or to Sanosuke, or both, even she doesn’t know. She pokes him, though. “So you hurry and wake up, you rooster head. Stop making people worry for you, too.”
Sanosuke mumbles in his sleep.

Good Day Eleore! :D .. I have been following you since before the end of the Magi season 2 but I only have the courage today to ask you about anything. I am also a fan of Rurouni Kenshin and I was just wondering if you could translate the incoming raws for us? By the way, Magi chapter 364 is out and someone actually makes an ultimate comeback. Hint: The toughest red-haired fiancee ever existed :)
Oh hi!! :D You know, I’m usually the one who is all flustered when trying to talk to new people, so don’t worry~~.
I have a personal policy of not looking at raw chapters before release day, but I’ll be more than happy to translate text spoilers, or summarize the raws after their release, especially since I’m planning to follow it (I’m also a ruroken fan :).
I have sadly not been able to find any text summaries for it so far, hence why I haven’t posted anything… .
On Magi 364, where are the text summaries?! This is one of the reasons I’m not fond of the Korean scans, though I suppose a lot of people are happy about it.
EDIT: Well... the official site had a preview, so here you go ahaha.

Magi 335 Spoilers
Warning: As usual, please note that my level of Japanese is basic at most, and this is just a translation of text summaries available online, so I cannot guarantee that the following snippets are accurate. In other words, these can be just rumors or misinterpretations, and I might have left some parts out because I didn’t understand them. Feel free to share the link, but please DO NOT REPOST, and don’t forget to support the official releases!!
In which the trials leading to the final battle begin!!
Status: Confirmed
Chapter title is “Seven Dungeons”.
Aladdin, Alibaba, Judar, and Hakuryuu arrive to the Sacred Palace. However, as soon as they enter Alibaba feels that something is off - it had changed, no longer looking like a library… and according to the narrator, it is also the stage for the greatest battle.
Judar criticizes the place as having bad taste, and Aladdin, asked by Alibaba, confirms this is not how it used to look like. He supposes the place can be changed to suit its master’s wishes, so right now, this is Sinbad’s Sacred Palace.
”That’s correct”, say his seven djinn as they appear in from of the four. They also inform them, the traitors of the Great Flow, that they will need to capture the 7 dungeons. Apparently, Sinbad divided himself in 7 parts, and if they want to stop Sinbad’s magic, they must conquer them all before the sun sets (am I the only one who is hearing someone scream Athenaaaa in the background...?)... because yes, the spell to return everyone to the rukh has already started.
That said, they still have time to fight… as Sinbad himself informs them, his rukh appearing in front of them. I’m not 100% about his next phrase, but I think he says that since they were able to escape his rewriting of the rukh, then this fight might also be destiny...?
Alibaba, however, question his motives. He could use the power of the Sacred Palace to kill them all right away, so why fight them? Again, I’m not 100% sure about his reply, but it’s something like “In order to erase my one regret”. He had wonder if Alibaba would come, given that, so far, he had always been giving excuses for not fighting him.
Alibaba points his sword at Sinbad, and simply tells him that he will beat him for sure, with Sinbad replying that he is looking forward to it. And with that, they disappear… .
Judar then rants a bit about Sinbad’s words, and his “stop it if you can” argument.
A ninth person (I guess we are at 9 by now xDD) appears now… Arba, who is in her adult form. Both Judar and Hakuryuu are startled, and keep their weapons ready. Hakuryuu, calls her Arba yet, but later says “No, Gyokuen…?”, and asks for her intentions. Looks she is just there to guide them thru the Dungeons (like Yumi in ruroken, I guess...?). Judar complains about the situation, but a Alibaba says, they don’t really have a choice. Aladdin greets her, but she does not reply.
As they follow her, Hakuryuu wonders just what could Sinbad mean by “his one regret”? Aladdin simply replies that, in a way, he understands.
They finally get to the First Dungeon, Baal. The inside of it, however, looks like a battlefield... and before them, a young Sinbad in djinn equip appears!
I usually try to avoid this, but this setting is just... too familiar xDDD. So far it looks like a mixture of the Shaman King plants, Ruroken’s Kyoto arc, Yu Yu Hakusho’s Sensui Arc, and Saint Seiya’s 12 houses. Emphasis on the YYH arc, which means this can be quite interesting... .
