One Dress a Day Challenge

Blake's 7 ("Rumours of Death") / Jacqueline Pearce as Servalan

Servalan was villainous, but she sure had style! One of the highlights of each episode was waiting to see what she'd wear. She usually wore white, sometimes black, rarely both, and other colors even more rarely. I probably would have featured some of her costumes before now if it were easier to find decent pictures; fortunately, this one was pretty well documented, possibly because it comes from a fan-favorite episode.

The asymmetrical construction of this dress is very interesting. I particularly like how the white portion of the strapless side is beaded, while the sleeved side is merely edged in beads at the collar and cuff.

tbh all jiang cheng ships are hypothetically good to me because jiang cheng is just so not in a good place for dating or marriage. no one should wife him up which is why anyone wifing him up has great comedy potential. it is a situation you're putting him in where he's forced to cope with intimacy and the possibility of betrayal or rejection. he's going be thinking about his parents' marriage except for the times he's going to be thinking about his sister and his redacted. and also there is the potential for someone to die horribly and leave him alone with a baby. again.

#tagging this with one of my more controversial opinions which is that while we the readers are basically told that the rumours are false #and wei wuxian believes the rumours are false #from jiang cheng's perspective wei wuxian is schrödinger's brother in like three different ways #one of them literal! does he trust that his dad didn't cheat on his mom: no. obviously #does he trust that wei wuxian's mom wouldn't cheat on her husband? he doesn't know her and he doesn't have wwx's attachment to the idea of #her #so anyway legally no biologically maybe emotionally REDACTED #ps yanli said so in public once REDACTED REDACTED REDACTED #maybe he'll think about wc and wzl a little #because you know. snuggles on the lotus pier throne #maybe had something going on with his mom #came into his house and did things to his body that can't be undone #yanli... like the yanli issues are so depressing but if he somehow married and it was somehow not a disaster #always the possibility of being torn from him by death

is it just me or is Darius mourning Brooklynn more than Kenji does? I know it was a short trailer but considering they were a couple…

i think there's only so much you can show on a 1 minute and half trailer. Darius is the main character and Brooklynn's "death" is maybe a big reason behind why he has withdrawn from his friends, it's going to be important for his character arc this season (possibly the whole show). when the show comes out we'll probably see more of how the other campers are taking her death, including Kenji. he's always been shown to visibly take losing people the hardest, so it'd make sense the show would want to take their time showcasing that; and even if they broke up, they were still best friends, he's probably mourning her as much as Darius and the rest are

Reading the episode recaps on the official due south site and they are all pretty hysterical, but S2E1 North is something else:

Fraser's headwound has escalated into a serious concussion -- resulting in a high fever, dehydration, and an odd compulsion to call his partner "Steve."

They specifically mention Steve even though it happens 1.5 times and is never addressed in the actual show. It's like they wanted it to be fic fodder for Fraser's identity exploration.

As usual in these situations, the ghosts of Ray and Fraser's dead fathers appear

As usual, nothing to see here.

Each advises his son to save himself and ditch his partner for their own good. But then what are fathers for?

Had a thought. (I've had a vicious and persistent sore throat/ear infection, so it grew out of that.) Witchers would be GREAT to cuddle when you're sick - they're warm, they don't catch or spread illnesses, they like spending time with friends/friendly humans, they respect boundaries (ie yes to cuddling, no to groping).

Basically, five bucks says any random human at Kaer Morhen could walk into the great hall or onto the training grounds, say "I feel like crap and I want a hug," and IMMEDIATELY have a dozen offers.

Now, if for whatever reason JASKIER got sick or injured and wanted comfort cuddles but Geralt and Eskel were called away for Warlord/Right Hand business, you KNOW that he'd whine at them that "noooo, you can't take my cuddle wolf, not when I'm SICK, at least find me another one while you're gone!"

So they call Aubry. (It's fine. It's far from the first time Aubry's cuddled Jaskier; the man is as good as his little brother.) Sasha and Milena come by with their lovers, and somehow Jaskier ends up wedged between Aubry, Aiden, and Lambert, with Sasha sketching birds for him and Milena reading to them.

The next day it's an entirely different cast of Witchers, with a few humans snuggled in.

Ciri and Zia poke their heads in one day to see Jaskier drooling on Gweld while Serrit sharpens all her many, many knives at the foot of the bed.

"Is he trying to sleep with everyone in the keep?"

Serrit snorts.

Ciri laughs. "No, he just likes cuddling them, I think. He only fucks Da and Uncle Eskel."

okay okay okay, if you haven't watched the post credit scene for episode 4 DO SO NOW!! it's amazing, you don't want to miss out on some more buttons scenes (he will be missed).

even more so, mary read (the lesbian pirate one) asks mr. buttons: "so is there another mary?" and please peep the real blackbeard's wikipedia page because he was (legally) married to someone called MARY ORMOND!!!! AND THEY MARRIED IN 1718!!! (which is the year that season 2 is set in)

One thing that drives me insane: Geralt's Law of Surprise and rule of 3.

Geralt has a choice three times to claim Ciri as his child - and two times he refuses!

And I also felt that, were he to refuse the third, they would stop running into each other - the Law of Surprise would lose to the Rule of Three. Maybe he could have left her with the family he found her in, find someone else who would take her in!

But he doesn't, he can't, not after hearing she has died and meeting his mother who left him, and then miraculously seeing her alive again.

"You're something more, Ciri. You're something more."

Apparently the 40k rumour mongers are indicating a Krieg (plastic) army box for the Guard Codex, coming Summer?

I could believe it, partially.

More likely it will be the Krieg Command Squad, maybe an Engineer Korp or Grenadier team (or 2), and then 2 of the current Krieg KT kit, plus whatever vehicle GW wants to clear stock of.

Similar to the boxes used for the launches for Ork and Custodes, not the Kroot box.
