planning a maximalist dream computer build is conceptually very funny when you're not a mainstream gamer but you do use a lot of academic software because it goes like -intel i7 of whatever the current gen is that year -3060 or 3060ti -128 GB RAM -4 TB storage space

Introducing Noodle Scythe and Nethammer, two silly pool-themed Phighting skin concepts me n' my brother thought up of.
All I can imagine is an ""AU"" (i used this term loosely) where everything is the same except pool setting. Noodle Scythe's most notorious crime? Running on the deck.

Hearing about Rooser Teeth's demise... admittedly I havent kept up with a lot of their content ever since they fired Matt Bragg. But the fact remains that I was a part of that community for several long years.
I made fanart. I made friends. My god, I made friends! Some of the closest friends I have we bonded through the AH/RT community or some branch of it. My current DnD group that streams on twitch, we were all connected to the community at one point, one way or another.
I attended RTX several times, which I maintain was a wholly unique experience unlike any anime convention I've also attended. I had so much fun in that community. I know RT has and had some problematic elements but it was also such a... force. I dont regret joining it. It got me into let's plays and streaming, it brought us RWBY which I still love despite everything and numerous other entertaining shows, and more importantly it made me laugh and connected me with friends.
To see it all dissolve so suddenly is... grief inducing. My heart definitely mourns. I've never been in another fandom community like it, and I dont know if I will again.
And of course, I hope the employees and contract workers affected can get back on their feet quickly. I cant imagine their position. Like the rug has been pulled from under their feet, I'm sure.
Just... yeah. Cowabummer, dude.

…Sooooo…about that RWBY V9 EPILOGUE ANIMATIC…..
Not lying to tell you, I honestly forgot about RTX this year because I’ve been focused on other things these days. However, thanks to the almighty power of Twitter and the RWBY FNDM community, this squiggle meister was able to check out the V9 Epilogue Animatic that dropped at this year’s panel.
While I’m disappointed there was no announcement for RWBY V10 being greenlit, at least fans were given something to munch on with the featured animatic.
And y’know what folks?
If this animatic was an original draft for the ending of V9 then I am…
… SO FREAKING GLAD that this animatic never made it into the final cut for V9!
Because, for me, not only do I find the final ending of V9 perfect as it is with where it left the story off but also, some revisions need to be done for this epilogue ya’ll.
Don’t get me wrong. I thought this animatic was pretty good. I liked that it confirmed everyone’s shared theory that the others thought RWBYJ had died during the Fall of Atlas. At least that was confirmed to be canon.
However; if there is one part I would love to be revised for this epilogue, it would have to be the final moment after Raven (surprise, surprise but not really cause people theorized that shit since V8) brings RWBYJ to Vacuo and we get to see Nora, Ren and Oscar react to seeing their friends return from the literal dead and…Oscar is just standing there with the Oz-cane…smiling?
But it’s not a smile of deeper emotion. It’s not even his usual soft smile that he always gives Rubes.
Yes, yes, yes I know what ya’ll might be thinking---Squiggles, dear, please, it’s only a rough animatic. It’s not that deep sis---I KNOW…but STILL, bear with me on this one folks.
This is the closest thing to a RWBY V10 crumb that us fans will have to cling onto until the show gets greenlit…whenever. IF EVER.
This animatic is the closest thing to a potential V10 teaser that we have right now. It’s all we have right so if there are FNDM fam members picking it apart and overanalyzing it, can you really blame em?
IT’S ALL WE HAVE for V10.
So pardon me if the Pinehead Rosegarden shipper in me is a lil bummed out by this one shot of a rough, possible first draft animatic of an episode that could easily be the first episode of a possible next season of RWBY.
If I had to imagine a final version of this scene, I could easily see Oscar looking at Ruby softly. But even still…that’s…not the reaction I was expecting for their inevitable reunion.
If  you had told me that that’s not Oscar and is actually Oz in control, I would have a better chance at believing you with that because I am in disbelief that Ruby would return from everyone believing that she and the others had died during the fall of Atlas and…Oscar sees Ruby alive and well for the first time in who knows how long….maybe weeks or a month at best and his reaction is just a normal smile?
Not even a tearful smile or a shocked look like Nora. Just a casual smile before we cut back to Ruby’s final smile, like she was on the verge of tears before it fades to black.
Really? That’s it?
NAAAAAAAAAH! Nah! Send that shit back to the boards for a second draft.
 #NOTMYRGREUNION
Again, I am fully aware that this is only an animatic and a bigger, more focused emotional reunion could easily happened after this scene in another “episode” if you look at this animatic as being like the end of the first or second episode of a potential RWBY V10.
But still, I can’t help but feel bummed by this a bit. At least the RG shipper in me is a little bummed.
If anything, I’m better off looking at this animatic as a precursor to a better more emotional and PROPER reunion between Ruby and Oscar.
That part I can dream about.
In the mean time, pardon my mini rant cause it’s been a while since I’ve talked about RWBY and I wanted to share my brief thoughts on the animatic for anyone who was curious about my thoughts on it.

The Animatic of the unreleased V9 ending doubles down on ZERO consequences
So... Two months ago (Jeez, how the time goes) i created a thread on the ending of V9. In it i very much stated that the ending of V9 continues the trend of being not really about hope, but being about wish fulfillment, considering that any negative consequence or logical problem that would arise post V8, just seems to be gone.
Well, quite recently, during this years RTX, we were shown the unreleased V9 ending/epilogue animatic that was never produced for many reasons that are unkown to us, but most likely relate to budget etc.
And what we saw of it, was the continuation to double down on some decisions, while showing that the cast itself is being confused about what they are creating in the first place.
The double down
Remember discussing how Amity looks like an airship and wondering if an airship is in front of it? Well, wonder no more. We have an explicit confirmation that Amity was converted into a warship. Let it sink it. Vacuo, an anarchic state with depleted resources and basically no organized government or anything of the sort, retrofited Amity into a warship, while Atlas, a superpower had problems with making it into a Satelite.
Tumblr media
Script from Eddy Rivas, one of the writers
There is nothing more "fuck you" to the logic of the world that is set up than this. This is "The emperor had a desolate planet build hundreds of star destroyers" level of nonsense. How does Vacuo do this in any way shape or form? Who cares? HOPE! ITS ALL HOPE! And somehow hope has manifested in the ability of Vacuo to retrofit airships the size of the Amity Colliseum...
Then we get told that "Its bad, in facts its probably never been worse" only to get a Disneyesque shot of everyone getting along, sharing food, Qrow catching someone falling down etc. But Qrow said its bad right!? So its bad right!? Well, remembering V4 and how we were told that actually Menagerie is a bad place to live, only to see an island paradise for 2 volumes, this sadly seems like yet ANOTHER example of "Lets say that things are bad" and then show the completely opposite. Because remember, after V8 ended, many people, especially critics called out that sending the Refugees to Vacuo is a shit decision, and yet here we are, and everything is SHOWN as perfect, despite that it should not be.
Come to Jesus
The Animatic before the end then shows a literal SHRINE to Ruby. I still recall people telling me that im wrong about V9. How Ruby was just told "She is good enough" not thats shes perfect, etc. That "everyone makes mistakes". And here we are. Despite the shitty decisions in V6-V8, Ruby now has a literal shrine. Because if any of us had any doubts about who the designated hero of the show is and how perfect she is, this should serve as a reminder.
Tumblr media
Ruby is perfect. The narrative says shes perfect. So she is perfect. Now worship her. Ugh...
I have always called out the fact that Ruby seems to be able to do literally anything, and the narrative will bend itself over to make her right. But for it to be rubbed into my face like this? With a literal shrine? Man... What am i even supposed to say?
Im genuinely convinced that we could be shown RWBY stabbing a child and then for it to be revealed that the child was actually Grimm in disguise.
The Confusion
I think my favourite part of all of this was the fact that we were shown, once again, that RT has absolutely no idea what any of them are doing. Not as solo people, but as a team. As a team, these people are supposed to communicate with each other, and yet time and time again we hear about miscommunication issues or other such nonsense. One would imagine that they would have, i dont know, a project lead to organize/lead everyone, but thats probably asking too much from the "indie" company that is RT.
Anyways, the animatic contains a scene of Winter using her maiden powers to etch out "Dont come back" on some kind of memorial. At first, theories were awash, to who was this said? Until a rumour came out that it was a memorial to Ironwood.
Tumblr media
Now, this was just a rumour, but not an unexpected one. We already know that the writers of RWBY seem to believe that the characters they create are real and are very much not shy in doing everything in their power to destroy/ruin them, with Adam being such a perfect example especially with the writers hating him so fucking much that the implied slave branding he got they instead said that he got as basically an "accident" in a fight due to him being an "asshole". Which is... Very "nice" writers...
So this? This would not be unexpected.
However then...
Tumblr media
(Arryn Troche (Ex-Animator of RWBY))
We got clarification that the memorial was to team RWBY? Which quite frankly, confused things even further. I have no idea what the writers were thinking about this exactly? Nobody, and i mean NOBODY would see "Dont come back" message and think it as a "positive" one, it would be taken as a message of negativity. The messaging here is horrible.
For people more interested in a break-down of this specific choice, i would reccomend "Itsclydebitches" Tumblr account and their post on this subject.
My opinion
The animatic is just shite. Like, im gonna be honest with you all. It doubles down on the same illogical BS, pretending to be hope while its actually just wish fulfillment. With all of the problems that V6-V8 would have caused just gone... Going so far as to ignore their own lore of Vacuo.
And the whole Winter memorial thing just further shows that there is little thought put into writing any of these things, logical thought i mean.

The biggest evidence against bumblebee being planned is ironically the show itself. Imagine a casual viewer watches vol 1-9 without interacting with: the fandom, fanfics, spin off comics, or rtx panels. They would be confused as fuck why black sun abruptly ends and bumblebee is a thing. Bumblebee relies on the shippers and voice actresses filling in all the missing gaps and offscreen moments for it to work.

Tech friends, I need your help.
I'm choosing between 2 laptops to buy. We'll call them laptop 1 and 2, for the sake of simplicity. (I'm in no hurry to buy one, mine works... just fine... but not great. It struggles when I have too many tabs open in Chrome, and is lagging as I write this post with literally only Discord open in the background. I'm sure you can imagine how it handles any heavier program. Yes I made a mistake by cheaping out when I could afford better, yes I am aware of this, yes I regret it deeply, let's move on.)
Laptop 1 is about 100 dollars/euros/1000 SEK cheaper.
They both have OLED screens with approximately the screen resolution: laptop 1 has a 15.6" display with 2880 x 1620 resolution (16:9) and laptop 2 has a 14" display with 2880 x 1800 resolution (16:10). My current laptop has a 14" display with 1920 x 1080 resolution (16:9) so either way it's a pretty big upgrade. In terms of size alone, I prefer the 15.6". (Laptop 1 weighs 1.8kg and laptop 2 weighs 1.45kg, which is not enough of a difference that it really matters to me.)
Laptop 1 has a higher refresh rate (120Hz vs 90Hz on laptop 2).
Their processors are both AMD Ryzen 7s (8 cores, 16 threads, 16GB RAM) with equal base clock speed (3.2GHz), but laptop 1 has a Ryzen 7 5800H while laptop 2 has a Ryzen 7 6800H. The two processors use different RAM types (5800H uses DDR4 RAM & 6800H uses LPDDR5 SDRAM (though it is fully possible that the 5800H also uses SDRAM and the sites I'm looking at just aren't telling me)). 5800H has a higher peak temperature (105 Celsius vs. 95 Celsius). The 6800H has a higher turbo clock speed (4.7GHz vs. 4.4GHz).
They both have the same graphics card (NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050), they both ship with Windows 11, and they both have 1TB of storage space.
Ultimately, I think the main question is whether laptop 2's better processor makes a big enough difference that it negates laptop 1's comfort of a bigger display and justifies the price difference despite it being smaller... and I do not know enough about laptops to make the call there.
("Build your own PC" and "buy a desktop PC" are both advice I will not take because I do not own or have space for a desk.)
(They're both Asus Vivobook Pro OLEDs: laptop 1 is M6500QC-MA025W and laptop 2 is M6400RC-KM001W, and more specifically, they cost 15990 SEK and 16990 SEK. My current laptop is also an ASUS Vivobook but I don't even think they make it anymore because it's so bad. It has a 2-core Ryzen 3 processor and 128GB of storage space.)

Okay if you guys are scared about RWBY renewal this is a collection of thoughts which may or may not be reassuring:
CR was never a good choice. Finding alternate funding opportunities is preferable e.g. ideally not cutting a deal with a streaming service which subsequently leads to cut episodes. Streaming services are conservative to the point that successful shows do not often get renewed as it is. There are other issues there like I don't think the CR audience was ever one to crossover enough with the RWBY one.
RT seems to be looking at more local funding opportunities (drawing in sponsorships for RVB; RVB renewal playing on drawing back fans in - I know I haven't watched it consistently since Season 13). They've cut back on RTX (major money drain - events such as these tend to just about break even, speaking generally, if not work at a loss) and this was likely a decision made at the beginning of the previous fiscal year, which was around when CR did not renew RWBY. They've explicitly said they're looking at getting more sponsorships lol. Raise your hand if you cancelled yours because you thought they didn't own RWBY anymore
From what I can see a lot of people are concerned about the silence regarding renewal and from my personal perspective is that there are NDA's involved (I know for a fact that Miles has this in his Tumblr description, or at least did at some point), the year-long exclusivity with CR, etc. as well as the fact that with this type of money that RWBY is throwing around now as what is effectively more of a serious production than it was six, seven years ago means that you can't really admit to too much weakness in public (speculative investors), nor can you speak strategy. I'm not saying this is a good thing or a bad thing, but just potentially par for the course, especially because I'd argue the closeness RT had with its audience did not end up being for the best for many different reasons.
It's probably very likely that based on the success or failure of the new RVB, RWBY will or won't be renewed. I'm not saying you are personally responsible for making RVB succeed. There's no responsibility of the fan here. But if we look at the avenues they've taken to draw in money: crossovers (comic book audience), manga, novels, anime (Beacon era nostalgia), the CrunchyRoll audience of honest otakus, etc. they've cycled through to trying to re-establish their RT fanbase to offset RWBY production. RWBY fans are good for RT and RT fans used to be good for RWBY. RWBY was made because Season 10 of RVB was very successful.
It's no coincidence that RT's relative decline in years (I stopped watching around 2015, if that's anything) has led to this. I'm kind of at the point where I wouldn't even say any of this is really RWBY's fault because it's a very weird production (I say this as a fan). There are plenty of influences I've failed to cover here because I'm trying to keep this contained to my honest assessment - there's obviously something not quite adding up with the numbers of how many RWBY fans there are vs. its renewal dangling in the balance. They struggled with monetising way back when during the adpocalypse on YouTube which led to episodes not being uploaded on there anymore. RWBY has been a cult sensation and it owes its success not just to a loyal fanbase but taking risks. RWBY itself was a risky endeavour. I'm not sure if people remember but by that point RT was doing pretty well, but not corporate money well, and its flagship show was a Halo machinima. They were doing crowdfunding/Patreon before it was a thing, they were doing podcasts before they were a thing (obviously radio existed, but you know what I mean). When Fullscreen acquired them I remember thinking 'hm this feels weird' and I was about right.
I don't have any conclusive remarks here but I would say that I would really start to doomer worry by the end of this year. I imagine that between the exclusivity of a year (and how much that does or doesn't influence contract negotiation with other funding sources) and RT currently overhauling its strategy we won't really know until six months from now, let's say optimistically. It probably does in part hinge on RVB and getting back that sponsor base, but I'm not sure I perfectly understand it because I would sign up for sponsor if I knew we'd be getting RWBY, or something specific to RWBY only on RT - which is seemingly not possible right now. I don't know the full ins-and-out.
Of what's going on behind the scenes, we know less than drop. It's six to one, half a dozen the other, but my overall summary would be that CR was always the wrong move and RT needed an overhaul in its approach to sponsorships and funding as well as establishing its brand and regaining audience trust/transparency. RWBY should have stayed on RT and other sources of revenue needed to be pursued. I couldn't even figure out how to buy DVD's of the show a few years ago because it was so hidden. (Am I even suggesting something like Patreon here? Hell, maybe). We're not going to see the result of their developed strategy for some time. This is my tentative speculation.

idk what this is going to be, so bear with me, I'm feeling sappy and inarticulate!!!
Back in 2013-2014ish, right here on this website, a video crossed my dash that made me laugh so hard, my mom thought I was crying hysterically. The video was so funny I immediately went searching to see if this person had any other content. That was how I found Rooster Teeth. Over the next decade I spent SO many hours watching Achievement Hunter, Funhaus, Red vs Blue, SP7, RWBY, Camp Camp, etc etc etc. Rooster Teeth truly put out a lot of great content over the past 21 years, but my favorite thing to come out of RT is the RT Community.
I loved interacting with the RT Community so much that the minute I was eligible, I applied to be a Guardian at RTX. From 2015 to 2022, I worked every single in-person RTX in Austin. (if you ever went to RTX and attended a panel in ballroom D of the convention center, you probably saw me looking incredibly stressed out! Here's a retroactive hello from me to you). I met friends from here on Tumblr, made new ones, and fell in love with the community more every year.
Volunteering at RTX was one of the greatest joys of my life. It wasn't glamorous, it didn't magically open any doors, I basically paid to work. But I also wouldn't trade those weekends for the world. Every year I got to spend a few days with some of the kindest, funniest, most talented people around. People I now travel across the country to work OTHER live events with, and go on vacations with, and text daily with every thought that passes through my head. The RT community has been such an inextricable part of the fabric of my life - I genuinely can't imagine what the past decade would look like without it. The people I love most in the world came into my life because of Rooster Teeth, and for that, I will always be thankful.

i love your imagines so much !!! 💕 Can you do one for Morpheus discovering his f!partner gets into fandom discourse ? 🥹
OFC Anon! This one was super personal for me as I also get into fandom discourse :')
~~~ "Will this serve?" Morpheus asks, gesturing around the vast white room he has created. In the center sits a glass desk with an Alienware x17 R2 gaming laptop with a 12th-generation Intel core processor i9-12900HK with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti video card, a 17.3" UHD 3840x2160 120Hz non-touch Advanced Optimus ComfortView Plus NVIDIA G-SYNC display, and an Alienware CherryMX ultra-low profile mechanical keyboard with per-key AlienFX lighting.
"This is perfect, my love!" you cry, throwing your arms around his skinny giraffe-like neck. "Thank you so much, Dream."
Morpheus carefully extracts himself from your arms, recusing himself to a safe distance. "What did you need the computer for, Y/N? Does the Dreaming not contain enough interest for you? I have taken you to Fiddler's Green, have I not? What beauty is contained on this device that cannot be seen in a reality more prepossessing than that which is real?"
"Well..." you start nervously, "I like to...game."
"You lie," Morpheus notes, confused but dispassionate about your falsehood. "Why? Tell me, in truth, what is it that you need this for?"
You suppose you would have had to admit this to him at some point anyway. "I argue with strangers on the Internet sometimes."
Morpheus frowns. "Argue? About what?"
"Lots of things," you shrug. "Mostly fandom. Sometimes people say that Good Omens isn't a good book and I have to own the antis on an epic scale. Or they say that SuperWhoLock is trashy, homophobic, and should've died out in 2012. Or that Loki from the Avengers isn't sexy in a greasy way, he's just greasy."
"Loki, you say?" Morpheus asks, looking disturbed. "Well, Y/N, this is concerning. I did not create you a computer for this..."
"No!" you shout, desperate. "How am I supposed to call out the people that call me out for 'fetishizing gay people'?"
"You have to what?"
Morpheus doesn't seem to understand what Y/N is saying. It's okay, though, you'll be able to convince him.
"I can stop at any time!!!" you promise. "I can, I just like it. It's soothing!"
Y/N's anger seems to sway him.
"Perhaps..." Morpheus muses, "Perhaps the computer was unwise."
With a wave of his hand, the desk and room disappear and you are standing with him in a beautiful valley surrounded by rolling hills, moss-covered trees, and shimmering waterfalls. None of that registers to you, though, and you fall to your knees. Finally touching grass...but at what cost?
Hey, could you please tell tips on how to make TS3 playable? I've done everything I can to reduce lag (merging cc files and using mainly low poly stuff, disabling memories, lowering graphics quality, editing files to allow the game use more RAM, downloading NRAAS mods and the smooth patch) and the game is still so laggy and crashes constantly even without any mods installed. I see many others on Youtube playing TS3 without any lag and I'm so jealous and desperate lol 😭
Hey there! While I'm not the most tech-savvy person for this, I can't imagine not trying to at least try to help a fellow simmer out. So I'm going to do my best.
You say you've done everything to reduce lag, but I didn't see you mention that you made the game recognize your GPU. Maybe you already did, but forgot to mention it in this cry for help. Anyway, i think that's one of the most important things to do. When I first did that (years and years ago), it made such an immense difference for me.
To do it, follow this guide here: Sims 3 performance guide
A lot of it you've already done, but there might be some things you missed! You don't have to do everything in the guide, for example a core-mod is listed but it's not essential to install that if you don't want it. Look at which step have (Essential) next to it.
I'm not sure what your specs are btw, because that also has big influence. I'm on a Lenovo Legion 7 (Ryzen 7 - 32GB - 1TB SSD - RTX 3070), so that's made for gaming. When I set up my game following the guide, I absolutely don't have to lower the settings anymore. Of course I do for some things (I don't know why I would want very high detailed trees constantly when not making a picture of scenery, lol!). But, if you're on a pc or laptop that isn't optimal for gaming, you might still encounter lagging. I don't think there really is a way to fix that, but you might be able to at least make it better!
Also, about the crashing, it might be the case you have a faulty piece of cc installed. Unless it also happens in a clean game, then it's probably something else. But I remember when I first started making default hairstyles, I was in the process of testing a default and my game constantly crashed when zooming out. Couldn't figure out why the hell it did that, until I realized I forgot to put bone assignments on the lowest LOD. So, one small oversight from a creator could be one others game crashing. There are a few faulty pieces of cc out there, some have the high lod in every lod, some are outdated pre Pets patch etc etc, so always beware of what you have installed and keep unmerged back ups of merged files so you can easily uninstall a faulty piece of cc.
