((OOC PSA Re: Villain Blogs))
((I've been seeing some more villain/antagonistic-leaning blogs pop up in the Pokemon IRL community lately, and personally I love it. No one loves anything more than a villain to hate, right? However, there's been some backlash towards some of these guys--harrassment, even death threats in some cases--so this is my little reminder to the community-))
((The villains are FICTIONAL CHARACTERS being written by REAL PEOPLE LIKE YOU. PLEASE RESPECT THESE PEOPLE.))
((Writing villains is hard BECAUSE these people know they are creating and playing sentient hate sinks, but said hate sink DOES NOT demonstrate their own ideals. Sending hate mail to people who are trying their best to be the worst, for YOUR FUN as well as theirs, is not only incredibly discouraging but also incredibly terrible for people's mental health.))
((After all, imagine how hurt you would feel if you received death threats just for having fun with the character you're playing now.))

Tips on RP Etiquette
OOC: Just wanted to make a post with some tips, do’s, and don’ts for RPing. Obviously, I'm not like an authority on this or anything. This just what I've gathered from RPing and other such.
Don't try control other's characters. Period. If you want to do something with a character or group, ask the person and plan it out with them (or you don't have to plan. You can go with the flow, and still make sure everyone knows what's happening.)
Don't power play. What I mean by this is that your character can't be invincible, or have whatever is going on bend around them. While you can be important at times, not all situations are about you, and that's a good thing. Being "just a guy" is part of the fun!
Never be vague about what's happening if it effects others. If it is just a you thing that only involves others if they decide to join in, go batshit crazy. But if it will effect someone else, or looks to effect someone else, be clear about what's happening at least OOC.
"Yes, and..." Is your best friend! Going with the flow of whatever is happening, as long as it is not annoying or hurting anyone, is very good! Make that blog for a legendary Pokémon, for an evil team! Even with your original characters and ideas, you don't have to limit yourself to "what makes sense". Just make sure everyone is having fun!
TAG. YOUR. SHIT. A mistake we will all make at some points. Be aware if you are discussing potentially triggering stuff, tag it on the safe side. Even if it seems fine to you, it could effect someone else!
But everyone will make mistakes now and then. It's important to remember that things can be fixed and improved, and people shouldn’t be harassed for making a mistake. There is so much more that I didn't put, which I might add later.
Basically be courteous, respectful, and use your common sense to make sure everyone has fun!

This is your daily reminder that ENGAGING YOUR MUTUALS is very important !
Send memes to the people who regularly show up in your ask box, so that they won't get discouraged or felt ignored !
Make sure to return the interest that you're shown (at the best of your possibilities of course) !
Don't forget to read your mutuals' abouts and headcanons (and if you like something in particular, let them know) !
Let's all contribute to the writing experience and make RPing a more collaborative and mutually engaging activity !

[ … can we have standardized tagging for the apparently plot relevant transphobia and other things or something. ]
[ this sorta issue went around a years ago in other rp communities- adding tw or cw or // to the beginning or end of a warning tag makes it much more difficult to catch in blacklists, due to the sheer variety of prefixes AND postfixes. you don’t need to add a pre or postfix. just the “ic subject” is fine ]
[ i am proposing this because many people do want to stay up to date on current events, such as the horrors, but at least want a Heads Up if they transphobia, abuse, homophobia, or racism(last one hasn’t been spotted in this community yet)(not a challenge) is going on in character ]

Important Notice
So, since it apparently needs to be said: if you want to do a plot with me DM me. Don't just send things to my askbox and expect me to go along with it. This applies to all my blogs.
I realize this sounds kind of rude but it's midnight and I'm mildly annoyed which means my filter is broken. I'm gonna go to bed.

PSA: Reblog Karma vs Reblogging From Source
What is 'Reblog Karma'?
Reblog Karma is a term coined by the RP community in which you send in a meme to the roleplaying blog you are reblogging the meme from. Non-roleplaying blogs - particularly those who originally post the memes you're reblogging - typically prefer that you don’t send something in when you reblog a meme from them.
Many roleplayers practice this, but many roleplayers do not. It’s just a matter of personal preference, though to many it may feel coercive into forced interaction.
How is 'Reblogging From Source' different?
The source is the original poster of the meme.
However, for the case of reblogging from a source, this can also be extended to also include reblogging memes from other meme resource blogs - particularly those who double as archives who seek out older memes whose original poster blog may be inactive or has since completely deactivated.
As these are blogs specifically set up for the very purpose of reblogging memes from, it is highly encouraged that, whenever possible, you reblog from either the original poster (source), or from another meme blog that has reblogged the meme to enable people to be able to reblog without disrupting other roleplayers' notifications.

If you could give rping advice to an amateur, what would be the most valuable?
// You know, I've seen some fabulous tips and guides rolling around this website and can I blimmin' find any of them I thought I'd reblogged? Can I bugger. Let's see what I can think of off the top of my head!
First things first, your blog: This is the first thing people are going to look at to make a decision if you're suited to them. Doesn't have to be anything fancy. Ensure you have an icon so we don't assume you're a spam bot. Have a bio and/or a rules page so people know what you expect and note if you're 18+/21+ as many adults aren't comfortable role-playing with people under this age for safety reasons. If you're writing a canon character, a bio page can just be a brief summary of who they are and what they're about. If you're writing an OC, a reasonably detailed bio is practically essential. You might know why your muse is awesome, but your prospective partners don't so give everyone the goss on who they are, what makes them interesting, what their backstory is etc.
Next is both the most difficult and probably the next most essential: Have no fear. What I mean by this is not to let insecurity get the best of you. If you love writing, have that be your anchor. Not everyone is going to say yes and that's ok. Not everything works out. Starting out is often the most difficult time because it's easy to feel like no one is interested and that you're doing all the work. I promise you, it will get better if you keep plugging away, but you have to reach out and brave things for a bit. Be kind, be open about what you want, and enjoy every little thing until you get more opportunities.
Good ways of finding partners are to search tags for 'rp masterlists' in fandoms you are interested in e.g. 'marvel rp' or 'potc rp' or even 'open rp'. Scroll down people's blogs and have a look at who else they're playing with, read their rules and pages etc. and see if they have preferences on how to be contacted. Some people will do open starters, some will greet you if you follow them, some accept memes from anyone. If someone mentions you need to be mutuals this means that you have to wait for them to follow you back before they will be open to writing with you. Once they do, check their rules how they like to be contacted. If it's not clear, brave an ask, send a meme, or a private message.
Private messages - best advice for these are not to start off with 'wanna rp?'. I recommend dropping in, saying hi, expressing that you'd be interested in writing and leaving an idea for something you'd be keen on doing should they be interested too. If they're not, thank them and move on. If they are, hooray, make friends and have fun plotting!
An extremely valuable RP tool is the New X-kit and X-kit Rewritten browser extensions. Tumblr is not built to be friendly for role-playing and I couldn't manage without these. Rewritten lets you trim posts so you can get rid of the pesky top post that would otherwise stay when using tumblr's new beta post formats. It helps us keep posts looking neater on our blogs and dashboard, although thankfully tumblr introduced the 'shorten posts' feature to save everyone's eyeballs from super long threads.
General etiquette: Lots of role-players have preferences on how long they prefer replies to be and how often they are active. Trial and error until you find partners that suit you. Ideally check your spelling and grammar if it's not something you're adept at. A big thing not to do is godmodding, which is when you might be tempted to write someone else's character doing something on their behalf. Even if this might mean your post is shorter, do not do this. You must let your partner write all of their own muse's actions. If your muse attempts to do something to their muse, they should be given permission to dictate what happens on their end. It's a give and take relationship to make the best possible fun for both of you.
Other big ones: don't let jealousy get the better of you. There might be duplicates of your muse or you might like someone who gives lots of attention to someone else. It's very easy to get wrapped up in your muses' feelings and get obsessed with gratification. Be gentle with each other, we've all got our own stuff going on, and we all need different things. Be gentle with yourself, too, that's most important!
Hopefully these are some of the basics and are of help! If anyone would like advice on something more specific, please ask, or ask one of these other lovelies for their opinion also.

You are definitely avoiding questions about xdragonsbloodx
// I will only say this once,
You are not entitled an answer no matter how many times you demand it. What you are doing is being overly nosy and spamming my inbox demanding an answer is not going to give you one.
Now either stop demanding what another muse is doing, because quite frankly it's annoying the muns of the blogs. Again, I don't usually care, but you messaged 3+ times with the whole demanding an answer and now this one.
I don't owe you an answer. You aren't entitled to one especially after demanding it so many times. I am a rp and ask blog but I also don't need to answer you especially when you pry about another muse. Who Aurelius trusts is up to him, who he feeds his blood to is up to him, and doesn't need an answer.
Now kindly respect that, or get off my blog.

Someone role playing a character- be they Canon or an OC, have a right to keep that character in "character"
Someone's villain doesn't have to be toned down for interactions just because your character is a princess/vulnerable/child/innocent etc.
If you have your character tease a villain, be prepared for consequences to your character. The mun role playing them is not doing that against you personally, but a villain is a villain.
A monster being mocked or jabbed is going to lash out physically or verbally. Dangerous OCs and canons are not puppies for your "good" character to play with.

LET'S TALK MEMES ETIQUETTE !!
There's plenty of posts out there dealing with reblog karma and reblogging memes from the source. However, I haven't found any about another essential aspect when it comes to memes, so let's go!
Reblogging memes from the source (or in general) when not sending anything to the person who has reblogged it first is a mostly consolidated practice by now. However, there's another extremely important aspect that plenty of us forget to consider, and that can be as bad as not reblogging memes from the source:
The timing.
Let's picture this situation, something that must have happened to all of us at least once: you reblog a meme, maybe one you're excited about, and ten seconds later someone else reblogs the same meme (from the source). Now this can't really be a coincidence, it means that the other person saw your meme, liked it and decided to reblog it too. Without sending you anything.
They reblogged it from the source!
Yes, they did. But it's obvious that they still took it from you and didn't bother to send you anything.
This isn't saying that you always have to send in something when taking a meme from someone else. Of course, there are plenty of times when we can't think of something to send, or we don't want to send something because we don't want an extra thread.
And here comes what I mentioned before. The timing. Reblogging that meme instantly as in the example could be disheartening for your mutual. Not to mention that people might see your reblog and not the one of the person who reblogged it first, if you have a lot of shared followers.
However, this doesn't excuse you from not sending memes that concerns headcanons or questions for the mun. It takes thirty seconds to pick one and leave it in the person's ask box. So do it. Not only will that make the person happy, but it will prompt them to send you an ask in return.
You don't need to do this all the time, every day. If you regularly send memes to that person, then they won't feel like you're using them as a resource blog.
At the end of the day, it's all a matter of being mindful of your RP partners. If you see a meme you like and you don't feel like sending anything to the person who reblogged, consider waiting before reblogging it yourself. Tumblr allows us to schedule posts, so all you have to do is postponing the posting and you won't even have to bother to remember to reblog it at a later time.
Let's all contribute to make the RPC a more welcoming, interactive place!

//stepping outta character for a bit to send a quick reminder to those who aren’t familiar with rping on this site. You absolutely have NO right to harass a writing partner for ANY reason and fandoms have always been shitty in that regard since the site started in 2005(I WAS THERE GANDALF).
If someone blocks you, they don’t have to explain why and repeatedly messaging them when they blocked you is shitty and considered harassment. Just move tf on and stop making excuses.
-sincerely, a Tumblr RP veteran

Okay, so...I’m confused now, and I’d like some advice from people.
I’ve been on tumblr for about ten years. As far as I’d been aware, the main rule of rp etiquette here has always been “You can like rp threads, but don’t reblog them unless you’re directly involved”.
Has this changed? I just don’t want to make a mistake and lose a possible friend or rp partner because I liked a thread or a post when I wasn’t supposed to.

ik some people dont like considering the fact that minecraft is a game into their interpretation of lore but tbh i really like lore that acknowledges that their lives adhere to video game mechanics and thats a part of why i like that tubbo doesnt shy away from including his knowledge of game mechanics in his roleplay. it adds to his character and story and tubbos knowledge of how the game works directly translates to his character being extremely intelligent and skilled
and i think a big part of why people dont like acknowledging that tubbo isnt fail rping by using the game mechanics to his advantage is because they dont like admitting that hes intelligent. they dont like him being more than just the dumb bee boy. they dont like him being able to get a one up on their faves even though their faves are using game mechanics to their advantage too, hell because their faves are doing it too.
using game mechanics to his advantage isnt fail rp. being intelligent and skilled in his own way isnt fail rp. the admins keep him in line when they need to and when they dont they let him do his thing because no matter how many people get upset about it, tubbos knowledge of how the game works is fun and its cool to see.
a good roleplayer knows how to use the medium to their advantage. tubbo isnt failing rp or breaking the no metagaming rules in any way that actually ruins anyone elses enjoyment. hes just using the medium to his advantage. minecraft is a video game and there are literally plot points that depend on acknowledging that. tubbo is intelligent and on top of that he is a good roleplayer and its fine that he roleplays in a different way than some other ccs do because that makes him interesting. if you dont like it then theres a very easy solution: dont watch him
