Sonic is acting strange.

From the moment he entered the cave at the top of the mountain and going on even after Shadow finished the battle, he was more energetic, talking faster than usual, to his friends’s eyes happier than they had ever seen him before. But deep inside his mind and heart, he felt more melancholic than anything.

Rouge said something about to going visit Shadow, wherever he’d gone, though it’s not probable that Shadow would gift her a powerful gem of inter dimensional proportions, it’s still a possibility. He finds himself comfortable with the idea of either of them guarding it, after all, Shadow would never let it bring chaos to their lives again, and now he knows Rouge it’s a better leader than he could ever be, they both would make the right call.

Sparring with Knuckles was as much of a way to get the stress out of his system as it is a reminder that the guardian isn’t a glory driven danger prone sailor, nor a extremely paranoid jungle survivor, and definitely not a soldier willing to hit an 8 year old if it means saving the world, no, he’s just Knucks. Ready to put him back in his tracks every time he goes off, same old Knucklehead.

Asking Amy to help him bake a cake to celebrate their victory on the mountain took her by surprise, not expecting Sonic to have the consideration or patience to think about and prepare that kind of gift just so their friends would enjoy it together. But what really shook her to the core was how many times he thanked her through the making, in his mind just one of those “thank you” was for the cake, the rest of them were for everything else.

Tails knows Sonic is acting strange.

it wasn’t just the sudden consideration on his words and actions, but also the eagerness to just spend time with them, an insane amount of time in which he paid attention to everyone and everything, he looked to the sea as if it was more of a new racetrack than an obstacle to his speed, he turned his sight to the sky as if he’d forgotten it was blue, and gazed to the palm trees as if he’d never seen one before. But most of it all, between his friends and the rest of the world, Sonic was looking at him.

It wasn’t the normal look he’d give him everyday, being the only one Sonic hadn’t been alone with since the mountain battle was weird enough, they would usually race and joke together after every battle, but not this time; Sonic was actively keeping him at arms length while never getting his eyes off of him, It didn’t matter who was Sonic talking to or what was he doing, if Tails was around, he was looking at him.

Every time he was smiling he would look back to see if he was smiling too, when one of his friends tried to approach him Sonic would instantly get in their way without any more reason than to talk to them, if there was a sudden movement or loud noise Sonic would turn to him as if to expect him to be gone, the calmness in his body being noticeable every time he found him.

It felt wrong, it felt distant, it felt as if he was a problem. He hasn’t felt like this in years.

Hours and hours later when their friends finally got too tired of watching Sonic’s odd behavior they all went their own way for the night, with Rouge just disappearing in the dark, Knuckles claiming he had places to be, and Amy saying the day had drained her and she needed sleep, Sonic and Tails were finally alone.

The walk to Tails’ lab was quick, but quiet. The silence prevailed all the way before they entered the house and closed the door, then it wasn’t quiet anymore.

With the way Sonic practically launched himself over Tails knocking the air out of him as he hugged the kit tightly, both falling to the floor as Sonic held him against his chest with one hand while the other one placed itself securing the fox’s head just below Sonic’s chin. Tails was quiet, way too shocked with the sudden affection after a whole day of being so close while feeling so far away. But Sonic’s sobs and whimpers weren’t quiet at all.

They were loud and broken, not forming any comprehensible words as hiccups broke in every time it seemed like he was actually trying to say something, as if he held back from crying for hours, It felt guilty, sorrowful, and desperate.

Tails found himself breaking his silence and asking repeatedly “what’s wrong?!” as he reciprocated the hug just for Sonic to tighten his arms around him, breaking into fully crying this time, with a sea of tears falling from the speedster’s eyes to the genius’ head, not letting him go even for a second, not loosening his grip after what felt like hours of holding his little brother, who held him back just as tightly.

Even if the tears stopped, their embrace didn’t, with the morning warmth closer than midnight’s coldness the blue hedgehog found himself surrounding the sleepy fox as he fought sleep’s calling to stay with his big brother.

“I love you” was muttered to the boy’s ears as he was claimed by the land of dreams, in which he could fly all day with the shining star he called his brother.

Tails wasn’t sure if that whisper was part of his dream. Sonic knew it wasn’t

Winter Fairies! Figured out a way to include the robots without it being too far out I think!

More rambles under the cut:

Rouge is Mistletoe! Seemed fitting, it has the romantic symbolism but it's actually quite a nasty plant and steals resources from other trees! She's proud of her berries, she sees them like pearls and after seeing mortals create jewellery she's taken to swiping the real ones too. Seeing mortals romanticise her plant's gotten to her head a bit, so she doesn't like to be seen without an extravagant dress. Winter fae don't die annually, so they can afford to create longer-lasting clothing out of cloth and furs that aren't made out of plants. Rouge has a sort of jumpsuit underneath out of her leaves, but prefers layers to keep warm so she doesn't freeze over like some other fae.

Omega is the Holly bush, and he hides away in this bulky armour made out of thorns, bark and wood. He has a 'false face' made out of berries, but he peeks out from gaps in the wood. No one knows what he really looks like, but he's gotten incredibly proficient about launching berries at people so no one dares try to find out. A select few have seen his real face though, Hope is often the one to help rebuild his exterior if it gets damaged somehow.

Hope is Snowdrop, a flower that symbolises hope (haha) She's a clumsy flier, but makes up for it by being able to fix anything she accidentally breaks! She's one of the only flowers to bloom during Winter so she likes to show off her petals as a dress, even if its cold! Luckily, by the time her flowers bloom Spring's starting to warm the place up.

Metal Sonic's the Crab Apple fairy, he flies around in the cold unbothered so his skin's sort of frosted over and has a metallic sheen, it also makes him super aerodynamic. Winter fae have a more vicious appearance, and his claws can do major damage if he wishes. He doesn't have a mouth as he has no need to speak, but enjoys company on occasion. He's one of the fastest fliers of all the fae, but keeping to himself means most don't know about him. Crab apples and wild cherry look pretty similar, and so do damselfly and dragonflys, so it's fun to have Sonic and Metal mirror each other still!

Poll 26, Round 1.

About Tulip: (by @silvers-starrway) Tulip comes from a doomed timeline, one where everything went horribly wrong. They don’t remember much of where they came from, only that after wishing to be somewhere else they were whisked away through time. They ended up in Silver’s future where the timeline had been saved. Silver ends up finding them in the tulip patch of his garden and ends up naming them after the flower. Tulip is about 50% organic and 50% robot. They still need to eat, though only in small quantities (their favorite food is oranges). They do not need to sleep, instead recharging via an electric plug in the back of their head. They are only able to talk with beeps and other electronic noises. Shadow ends up teaching them morse code and that’s how they communicate with the world. Despite looking like a strange combo of Shadow and Silver’s features, Tulip has no biological connection to either. It’s just a strange coincidence. Tulip has the ability to manipulate probabilities, they aren’t aware of this power but it’s the main reason why they ended up in Shadow and Silver’s timeline.

About Sunshine: (by @yellowvixen) Sunshine pops into existence one day after Sonic and Shadow go super together, seemingly out of nowhere! Turns out she's made of pure chaos energy, but her only powers are glowing and floating a little bit - no matter! She makes up for it in cheerfulness and really lives up to her name. Raising her is a group effort, as her dads are only in their early 20s when she appears and are woefully unprepared for looking after a baby. She spends a great deal of her early life on Angel Island and considers Knuckles and Amy to be parents too. (Tails, Rouge and Omega fall into the fun aunt/uncle category). Surprisingly, she inherits none of her dads' trauma and grows up as a pretty normal kid, despite being made of chaos energy!

I love Stellar! She's so cute! Love your art, keep being amazing, et cetera, but also I have a question:

You mentioned that at the time of Stellar's, shall we say, adoption, Shadow and Sonic were still in their "it's complicated" rivals era. I'm guessing Shadow wasn't especially close to Sonic's friends either? And that kinda got me wondering: how do Sonic's friends feel about Stellar when she first arrives? Obviously they love her on sight, but like, does Tails feel weird that he's now basically Shadow's brother-in-law? Is Amy a little alarmed at the thought of Sonic and Shadow being responsible for a literal baby? Does Rogue foresee the inevitable Sonadow to follow? And so on ...

Idk, would love to know more about the early days and everyone's reactions.

And I'll give you a quick rundown on everyone's feelings immediately after Shadow brought Stellar home!

Rouge was the first to know, as she was actually present when Shadow discovered Stellar. The two of them had been tracking some leads about Project Stellar for a while, not realizing they were stumbling upon another attempt at Project Shadow until they were right on top of it. Rouge initially tried to reason with Shadow, recognizing his anger instantly and trying to convince him to let cooler heads prevail. She even tried to warn him against removing Stellar from her stasis pod, fearing that it was acting as some kind of life support and would kill her upon removal. Shadow decided to remove her regardless, deciding that either way, a life in the government's hands as a weapon was no life at all. Still, Rouge convinced him to take her straight to Sonic—and, more importantly—Tails, since he had the tools at his disposal to give Stellar a proper look over.

Sonic and Tails live together, so they were the next in line to find out. Shadow basically showed up looking like he was out for blood with a baby in his arms, demanding that Tails use his equipment to see if she was okay. Tails and Sonic both wanted more of an explanation (like, where did you get a baby, WHY do you have a baby, why do you look like you just got out of a fight, etc) and Shadow would begrudgingly tell them what he'd learned, clearly deeply uncomfortable with the entire conversation.

Well, to say they would both be shocked would be an understatement. Sonic would be at a loss for words, for once. Tails, ever the scientist, would immediately want to look over Stellar to see if Shadow was telling the truth. By the time Shadow had handed the baby over to Tails, Sonic's brain would have rebooted and the motor mouth would start up again.

He'd be in total disbelief, really. He'd just start yammering on about every question and concern that would come to mind.

"The government tried to make another you?? With ME?"

"Does that make me a dad? Does that make YOU a dad?? ARE WE DADS??"

"I can't take care of a baby, I don't even remember BEING a baby! What do babies even eat??"

Etcetera, etcetera. Shadow would just stand stiffly in a corner of Tails's workshop, laser focused on whatever tests Tails would be running on tiny baby Stellar. He would totally tune Sonic out, instead focusing on the barely noticeable rise and fall of Stellar's chest, petrified that she might stop breathing if he looked away.

Honestly, the first night would be VERY tense. Shadow would still be high strung from the rescue, Sonic would be trying to wrap his head around the whole idea, and Tails would be devoted to running all the tests he could on Stellar to try and get some answers.

Tails would determine she was healthy, showed no signs of requiring any kind of life support, and was definitely Shadow and Sonic's biological child. Half Shadow's DNA, half Sonic's.

He would also realize in his tests that her energy readings were off the charts. Whatever they had been cooking up in that lab wasn't good, and Stellar was almost like a living chaos emerald. He'd immediately be concerned about the implications of keeping her around, but Sonic would have come around by that point, deciding there was no way he and Shadow would be getting rid of her.

Shadow wouldn't be so sure. He'd suggest talking to Rouge, Amy, or Vanilla about being a mother to her instead, since he wouldn't be confident in his own abilities to raise a child. Sonic would be annoyed by that, pointing out that it would be pretty messed up to try and pass her off on anyone else. Vanilla and Rouge both have their own kids to worry about, and Amy lives in the Sol Dimension with Blaze most of the time. He'd reason that they should at least try. Besides, who could possibly understand her more than Shadow?

Eventually, they'd agree to try raising her as a team. It'd be a begrudging decision, but one they'd learn to live with. The two of them wouldn't be romantically involved at this point, either, so the two of them had a LOT of growing pains trying to figure out how to parent together. Getting a baby government assigned to you is one thing, but having to raise it with your rival is another!

Oh, and as for Amy, Knuckles, and the rest of the group? They'd almost all be horrified LOL! Stellar definitely received a rocky reception at first! They all grew to love her eventually, though.

Okay. Okay, I don’t normally do this, but I’ve been wanting to do some sort of analysis post recently and the Sonadow shipper inside me grabbed me by the throat and pointed in Netflix's direction, soooooo...let’s have a look at some clips of Sonic and Shadow interacting in Sonic Prime, shall we? (Putting this under a readmore because of all the images.)

The first clip comes from this post. (I don't know how to add that particular gif to my post, or else I'd put it here too, but oh well. I'm analyzing the first one, to be specific.)

So, we begin with Shadow walking away, saying “We’re going after Nine”.

Sonic then reaches out to stop him (with his right hand, despite the fact that he has to reach all the way across his own body to do so, possibly suggesting that Prime!Sonic is right-handed?). This seems to be just before Shadow’s noticed, because he’s still moving forward, looking resolved now that he’s decided what to do.

Shadow sees Sonic’s hand, and looks at it with an expression that seems…mildly irritated, but not outright angry. It’s about halfway between his “resting grumpy face” and his “actually angry face”, in my opinion.

He looks over at Sonic himself with a slightly angrier face (mainly made evident by the fact that the point in the middle of his brow is actually touching his muzzle instead of resting above it).

Then he looks back at Sonic’s hand again (in a pose that I swear is slightly different from the last one even if it doesn’t look that way). The only real difference is that he’s just looking down a little more. The effect of these last three images in actual motion, though, is a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it glance at the hand, up to Sonic, and then back to the hand. It's sort of a "huh-what-huh?!" motion, I think. To me, this gives off extremely strong “what the heck is even happening right now?!” energy.

For completion’s sake, I’m going to finish out the rest of the gif with these last three pictures. Shadow pulls away from Sonic at this point (which, fair, Sonic did grab him out of nowhere and he’s not normally very touchy-feely although this may be disproved in the next gif), and it may or may not have felt like a small punch to the gut for me to see Sonic’s hand outstretched like that, but anyway.

Shadow shifts into one of his patented I’m Trying To Be Cool And Aloof Despite Being An Adorable Three Foot Tall Hedgehog poses, complete with an eyeroll. He doesn’t actually seem that upset about Sonic touching him, however, I think it’s probably more the context of the situation. Shadow keeps insisting that Nine is a threat that needs to be stopped, and Sonic keeps preventing him from doing that, so his frustrated reaction seems to have much more to do with why Sonic touched him than the fact that he did so at all.

And, least but certainly not least, a cute contemplative (and still slightly grumpy) expression from Shadow. (He’s just adorable!! Aaaaaaa—)

Now then! Let’s move onto a really, really big one…

…The Hug™.

The post that I got this clip from actually has some really good points that I’m going to discuss further, so please go read that first! It won’t take long, and also everything the OP says there is absolutely true.

Ready? Here we go! (Please excuse the slightly crunchy pictures...the only way I was able to get this level of detailed analysis was by recording the gif, scrubbing through the frames, and taking screenshots of specific moments, which naturally led to some artifacting.)

So, what's just happened prior to this frame was Rebel Rouge saying happily, "Sonic, you're okay!". Sonic, like the goof he is, does not acknowledge this in any way, fully focused on introducing his boyfriend to his other Shatterspace pals. Instead, he's just looking over at Shadow. Notably, Shadow is instead looking up at Rebel. I'd like to think this is because Rebel has the most put-together and leader-like behavior out of the Rouge counterparts, so he could be waiting for her to continue speaking and give instructions or commentary on the situation, like she does with Team Dark in the games. That's just my take, though, he could just as well be generally on edge—he is in the middle of a battlefield, after all.

Smear frame!! This is included for the expressions as well as for completeness…but mostly for the expressions. Look at how big Sonic's eyes are. Look at how excited he is. He's so hyped to introduce his best rival to everyone. Shadow, meanwhile, looks like he just bluescreened out of pure shock. Sonic's yanking him over so fast he's all blurry, but we can see that his expression is basically 0—0 right now. He has been Touched and he is being Moved and he has not had time to process Why.

(Notably, however, he doesn't break the hold, despite the fact that he definitely could...)

Now, they’ve both settled into place (although ‘settled’ may be the wrong word for Shadow, haha). Sonic is doing what I can only describe as beaming—just look at him! He has a big smile on his face, and he looks almost proud to be introducing Shadow. It really shows how much Sonic values and respects him. (*sobs*) Shadow, meanwhile, has shifted from “what is happening” to “oh Chaos I am being held I am being hugged?? What??? Physical contact? Why????”. He just looks so stunned by the hug, it’s too adorable! More specifically, in addition to the obvious fact that his irises and pupils have shrunk and that he has very stiff posture, if you look very closely at the gif as well as at the following pictures, his ears are also standing up a little straighter and his quills have pushed back slightly, possibly prickling at the sudden contact? Interesting…

Here, we can see Shadow’s ears relax now that he’s processed what’s going on, and his quills have more of a visible curve to them instead of sticking out so much. He’s also glaring off to one side in a position that could either be interpreted as frustration at his current situation (though not so much that he’s willing to push away!!) or as embarrassment. Personally, I think it’s a little of both. Sonic, meanwhile, is still smiling like the sweetheart he is.

Now, we’re getting into the frames leading up to Sonic leaning into Shadow (aka one of the most precious moments of the show). Honestly, I don’t have too much to say about this one, except that Sonic is moving in a way that he would normally while talking right now (shifting around, because this boy has loads of energy) so I have a feeling Shadow probably doesn’t expect the cuddles that are coming his way, ehehe.

The Smush begins!! Shadow looks like he’s quickly resigned himself to his fate, but also decently irritated that he’s essentially getting side-snuggled in front of everyone. This could’ve been another part where he shoved Sonic off himself (goodness knows he did it before in Avoid the Void), and yet he doesn’t, leading to the best part of this whole moment!

Sonic, you smug hedgie. Shadow’s already letting you hug him, don’t push it with that smirk! Shadow does have his eyes closed here, suggesting to me that he is at least a little bit annoyed by now. Again, though, I think this has more to do with the fact that he’s essentially in front of an entire crowd, none of whom recognize or know him. I’ve seen someone else point out that Shadow gets more closed off in Prime when he’s around people aside from Sonic, so honestly, the fact that he’s putting up with this at all sure is…something. (Shipping goggles on: it could be because he appreciates Sonic’s affection enough that he’s willing to cope with the embarrassment if it means the cute annoying hedgehog next to him will hold him a little longer :] )

Okay, so this is really difficult to see, but look at Shadow’s wrist protectors in this image as well as the last one. See how there’s less of them visible in this picture here? That’s because, as the person who posted this gif noted, Sonic moves his hand up and down Shadow’s arm twice after cuddling up to him like this. It actually moves Shadow’s entire arm and shoulder up and down with the movement, making it look a little bit like a friendly rub or shake. Sort of like “hey, look at my grumpy friend, isn’t he great?”. Meanwhile, Sonic’s still looking smug, but I’m now wondering if it’s a bit of a knowing look as well? I mean, this is the one friend of his who’s truly known him for more than a few days. I’m wondering if there’s a bit of “‘ey, Shadow, c’mon, don’t be so shy! You’re my pal!” vibes here, partially because he knows it’ll annoy Shadow and partly because he just knows how Shadow is but wants to drag him into his circle of friends regardless. (Look at how much Sonic cares about Shadow, trying to make sure he’s included! So cute!!)

THE PAT. Two of Sonic’s fingers are lifted up here, which he then uses to give Shadow a light tap on the arm. THE AFFECTION. THE OBVIOUS CARE AND FRIENDLINESS IN THIS ONE SIMPLE ACTION. SONIC CARES ABOUT SHADOW SO OBVIOUSLY IT HURTS ME TO WATCH. MY HEART. No matter how many times Shadow puts up walls, Sonic smashes them down. After all, Shadow doesn’t get to be the only one who does things like keeping Sonic safe or helping him stay grounded! Sonic’s not going to pretend those things just didn’t happen—Shadow cares about him in his own awkward, emotionally constipated way, and Sonic is reciprocating. You can’t stop him, Shadow!

I’m skipping the smear frame here, just because Sonic and Shadow basically pop up and right into this position. Sonic’s two fingers come out of the tap/pat and straight into the peace sign, and now he’s smiling even more than he was at the start of this whole thing. His eyes are all big and shiny too—he’s clearly very happy to have introduced Shadow, and perhaps also quite happy that he’s getting this moment of prolonged physical contact with Shadow. Now, while Shadow’s shoulder is still kind of smushed upwards, which could indicate stress in another circumstance, it seems to me here that this is mainly because Sonic’s hand is pulling it upwards slightly. (Although, I’m afraid it does appear to be the case that Sonic and Shadow are approximately the same height in Prime—remember, Shadow’s ears aren’t as perky right now as Sonic’s, and the ears are really the only height difference between them here.) Shadow’s expression, however, is honestly quite neutral. Despite his previous discomfort (part of which, I just realized, could be because Sonic essentially was pushing him off balance. Shadow was tilted pretty far to his left, which could be a little awkward of a position to be in, especially for an extended period of time), he doesn’t look bothered at all, instead just quietly existing in this situation. Most of the irritability in his expression comes from his angular eyes and his aforementioned “resting grumpy face”, honestly.

(I couldn’t find any gif that includes this next part—probably because the camera cuts away from Sonic and Shadow here for a moment to show the general confusion of the Shatterverse folks—but when it cuts back, Shadow is still standing there with Sonic’s arm around him. Heck, he looks willing to continue standing there for however long Sonic stays next to him, only pulling away when Nine comes back and makes noise, reminding everyone that we’re in the middle of a battle for everyone’s survival here. And when he does pull away, Sonic is dragged with him, which is probably mostly for laughs, but does also imply that a) he was holding onto Shadow pretty tightly and b) he wasn’t expecting to have to let go even AFTER Nine made himself known.)

This post is long enough already (and I drafted it when I could've been going to sleep, because the force of Sonadow infected me), so I won't be doing the "Shadow saves Sonic" scene just yet (unless a lot of people want to see that). For now, though, thanks for bearing with me throughout my descent into madness over these two. Okay, so.

Sonic gets killedcaptured by Eggman, Tails goes MIA, Rouge finds out Sonic is alive on the Death Egg, they rescue him, yadda yadda, we all know the drill.

And of course, once Sonic is free he's looking for his little brother. He's not there, but his friends tell him he's just been over somewhere else, doing his best to help and no, he can't contact him right now because he's spying/going undercover whatever and him calling Tails would jeopardize the mission and of course he wants to talk to him but he understands it's important and it's not like they would lie to him, especially right after escaping Eggman, riGhT?

Well, fast forward to the final battle.

Of course, Sonic is still kind antsy because he still haven't seen Tails and they keep telling him Tails is still on the mission whenever he asks and then he gets pulled into helping the Resistance and the thought kinda slips his mind with everything going on and plot twists happening at every occasion (Chaos, Shadow, Metal and Zavok weren't real but clones created by Infinite? like, who would have guessed!) and before he knows it the Resistance is making their final stand, Infinite defeated, Mobius saved from being burnt-slash-hit by the sun and if only they could find Eggman-

Suddenly a huge hologram of the man himself appears on the sky. Figures he turned tail and ran like a coward he was, probably only appearing for his usual "you might have won this time, but next time it'll be my victory" routine.

But Sonic isn't ready for what the man says. He is ready, when Eggman's hologram switches to a video recording. He's not ready when he sees Tails, his little brother. Bloodied. Bruised. Fur stuck together, some patches missing entirely. Forced to his knees. Shock collar clipped around his neck. Arms, legs, even his tails chained together so he wouldn't escape.

Amy lets out a strangled gasp behind Sonic and he turns, staring right at her. In her eyes, in all of his friends' eyes he can see it.

They knew. They knew and they have been lying to him.

Maybe they didn't know Eggman had him, the shock and terror is genuine, but they fucking knew Tails wasn't with them. They knew he was missing and they didn't do anything!

💙 When Amy told Sonic she wanted to go dancing with him, she didn’t expect it to be just dance…anyways she had tons of fun!

(Well EVERYONE does actually…) So one day, despite how inexperienced he is in the whole romance department, sets aside time to work on writing a letter, buying flowers and arranging somewhere nice to take Amy out for her to fulfil her romance fantasies. She’ll even get to dress up for this occasion

🩷 For the longest time, Amy has had a box sitting aside in her closet, containing a new special swim shirt, arm floaties, and a swimming kickboard, for when Sonic decides to finally learn how to swim. She can’t see the day any of the contents will be used but she could only hope.

More fankids!! Both because they are genuinely fun to make and give lore to but also because I made Mirai and then wanted to make sure she had friends!

Aster is designed by my friend Duetland!! (The last art is by them!!) They aren’t on tumblr but you can find him on Instagram @duetland :)

Gold and Aster:

Shadow and Sonics kids. They’re twins (with Aster being older). Both were babysat by Tails a lot and ended up picking up a lot of stuff from him as well as their parents. Gold became more responsible and significantly more polite (far more than either of his parents lmao) meanwhile Aster became interested in robotics. Specifically those related to space like rockets or planet rovers.

When the two were born there was immediate concern about their power imbalance. Aster was born with no powers at all, meanwhile Gold’s chaos energy was so high Shadow feared he would burn himself up unless something was done. Due to them being twins, it essentially ended up where instead of two moderately powerful hedgehogs - Gold got enough power for two while Aster has none. This leads Aster to resent Gold, less because she actually wants superpowers but more because Sonic and Shadow are always fussing over Gold (to make sure his powers aren’t harming him) and she feels like her parents don’t care for her. Causing her to push them out even more. She listens to Shadow more than Sonic, but they don’t end up talking through all this properly until Espio gets involved since unlike Sonic and Shadow who had powers all their lives - Espio had to teach himself his abilities and is able to empathize with Aster more.

3. Rhine

Rouge and Knuckles’ child. I’ve thought about her way less WHOOPS but!! Despite not being an echidna he looks up to his father a lot and promises to be the best guardian of the master emerald he can possibly be. Has a habit of just picking up shiny things like a magpie and will turn them into jewelry. Is blunt and gullible like her father but likes thinking things through before she moves. Uses the shovel claws more as weapons than actual shovels - he’s a bit of a neat freak.

Mirai and Gummy:

Mirais story is on my previous post! Not much has been added since then other than that I’ve decided she’s a bit of a troublemaker and very energetic, sarcastic, silly and kinda stupid. As for Gummy he’s about 7 years younger than Mirai, and I haven’t quite figured out what he’d be interested in yet haha

Eli and Anchor:

These two are half siblings! Eli’s parents are Amy and Metal. While investigating the ruins of a disaster, Amy and Metal find a child who who had been incredibly injured. They happen to be closer to Eggmans new hideout (where he has retired and is just kinda pouting by himself forever) than anywhere else - the two break in and force Eggman to help them save the child. Since the current Metal is Amy’s size, there were several smaller models for when he was “younger” - Eggman uses one of these scrapped smaller Metals to give the child cybernetic parts and saves their life. Amy and Metal then take the child back to their house and raise it as their own, with Eggman forcing them to bring Eli over frequently so he can see his grandchild.

Anchor is the child of Blaze and Amy! I’m just letting Amy be poly I think she has a lot of love in her heart and now she has two wifes. Anchor lives the Sol kingdom, and takes after her aunt Marine quite a bit with her love for adventure and especially sailing! When she was young, much like Blaze, she was brought before the Sol emeralds and blessed with a power. I feel like she’d be able to control / harness winds rather than fire though - to help with her sailing.

Does anyone want sonic and friends christmas headcanons? No? Bah humbug! You can have them anyway

Sonic's invited to a lot of christmas dinners. He attends them all, even Eggman's. He eats so much, but runs so much in between he burns it off.

Tails organises the Christmas Lights show. It is extremely extravagant.

Eggman organises a rival Christmas Lights show. It is extremely temperamental. He built it right next to Tails', so they both look worse. Metal uses it as a distracton to get Sonic, but because hes rushing around looking for dinners Metal can't keep track.

Amy spends December baking like crazy to get everything to her pals, but since she also observes Chanukah, and Yule, and everything else. By christmas day, she has no energy to make anything, and if she didn't go to Vanilla's she'd eat leftovers on christmas day.

Knuckles doesn't understand Christmas, it looks weird from above. All big festivals look strange, with lights shows and a change in people's pattern. He does put tinsel and lights on the master emerald when his friends are visiting, so that they don't offer to do it for him and touch it.

Cream and Vanilla host for Christmas, but only after they've been to mass. Santa still visits Cream, so anybody who stays overnight also gets visited by Santa.

Big sometimes consents to being santa, but it's a lot of fuss and a bit loud. He does always send homemade christmas cards.

Rouge's family always did a big Christmas with every possible relation. She now brings Omega with, because her great aunt kept asking about a date and she thought it would close the questions forever. Now they like Omega more than her, and decorate him.

Shadow prefers to spend Christmas quietly. He will exchange gifts beforehand, so he can have peace on Christmas day. He might come around, but he doesn't have to.

Silver thinks its literally magical. Like a kid at christmas. He climbs the tree like a kitten

Blaze doesn't celebrate Christmas (different dimension) but appreciates the warm and spicy season for that. They do a winter solstice, which is somewhat similar.

Espio's not fussed about Christmas, but Vector loves anything with lots of festivities, and Santa still visits Charmy. They have an arrangement with Santa that he gets his presents after the January Sales.

The Babylon Rogues have no idea what Christmas is, but they do get gifts at Christmas from their friends on the ground sometimes. They like that. They aren't really read up on the meanings and traditions, so they just unwrap them as soon as they get them.

Whisper is a fantastic caroler. She howls the start of Once in Royal.

Rough and Tumble still get visited by Santa at their respective houses, and phone eachother up to compare gifts. Their mums are friends.

Belle performs the nutcracker for her friends, but is very bad at ballet.

Y’all already know my Shadamy kids but Sunny is now a former G.U.N. agent. She quit. The reason why is a mystery.

We got some Knuxouge kids! Mirage, Warden, and Prickle. Mirage was meant to become the next guardian of the master emerald, but ended up passing it down to her little brother Warden who wanted it way more than her and became an actual G.U.N. agent like her mother. She takes after her mother in that way. She’s ultra tall and Warden is mad cause she was already taller than him at one year younger. Also she’s trans. Good for her. Warden is the “serious” one who is really dedicated to being the next guardian. He’s got the braincell of the three and is a short king. Prickle hates everyone and likes to be alone in nature. Despite Warden being the next guardian, Prickle is the most in tune with the emerald and angel island in general and often communicates with Tikal’s spirit. But nobody else can see, so for example, Rouge sees him talk to himself and is like “who tf is he talking to”

Tailsream kids! Lars, Specs, and Posy. L.A.R.S. stands for Laboratory Assistive Remedial Software. He is an ai that Tails made shortly before Specs was born to help him in the lab that turned out to be sentient. After specs was born, Lars dedicated himself to protecting her and being the perfect big brother. So Tails was like “Welp, I guess I have two children now.” and adopted him. They say he’s “15” just because that’s how he looks and acts. Specs is best girl. She’s very safety-minded and polite and she carries around a seemingly bottomless backpack full of anything you could ever possibly need. She’s called Specs after her glasses but also for how she would help Tails in his workshop and list of software “specs” for him. Posy is a little monster who revels in creating chaos, but she’s cute so she gets away with it. Also, she likes to drag Prickle around to act as her Guinea pig and he lets her because he’s too nice to say no.

The Silvaze Twins! They both live with their mother in the palace since they never know when the future will go to shit again, and Silver is usually there with them acting as Royal consort. Ember was born a few minutes before her brother, making her heir to the throne, which both are 100% fine with. Ember strives to be the best heir possible and takes her job very seriously. She loves to study and also practices fencing as neither she nor her brother inherited their parents psychic or pyrokinetic abilities. Her brother, Cinder, on the other hand, hates being in the palace and prefers to goof off most of the time. He’ll often try to cause trouble around the castle, which Ember will usually try to stop, except when he occasionally convinces her to join in. While Ember enjoys more classical studies, Cinder is fascinated by dimensional science and time travel and longs to explore all the countless dimensions out there.

Finally, some neighborhood kids. While Sunny’s main group is Mirage and Ember, Artie has these two weirdos. There’s his best friend Peppy, a reckless, energetic mouse who loves going on misadventures around town but is often betrayed by her own clumsiness. She and Artie are constantly arguing over who is the other’s sidekick and often have to save each other’s butts, but one thing’s for sure is these two idiots are inseparable. Spot, on the other hand, is the local delinquent and Artie’s official rival. Why? Idk, it doesn’t really matter. After all “all heroes have a rival” although this rivalry is often forgotten in favor of teaming up to get the job done or just to hang out. However, they still definitely hate each other and don’t like each other at all. They totally don’t enjoy the bantering or have a crush on the other at all. Pure rivals

Also, Sonic doesn’t have kids, he’s just the cool pseudo-uncle who visits a lot and babysits. And they all definitely have big family get-togethers and family dinners all the time. Because found family is the most important family of all. Anyway, thanks for reading imma go nap.

How would you describe Silver's personality?

Let's see... There's a few aspects of Silver's personality that I think strongly characterise who he is as a person.

Silver is determined. He has a strong desire to protect the future, to the point where he's made multiple trips to the past to stop disasters from occurring there and ensure the safety of his own time in turn. Related to this, Silver has an optimistic attitude and generally doesn't lose hope easily, as conveyed in multiple bios such as his one from Generations. Notably, he shoots down Infinite's statements about how he'll show the rabble that "there is no hope" immediately, asking "Does anyone but you believe your lies?!". However, this is not infallible: in both Rivals 1 and 2 there's moments wherein Silver loses his hope ("No! I'm too late!" in Rivals 1 when Eggman Nega goes to space to take a picture of the whole planet; "It's too late. I knew there was way for me to change the future…" in Rivals 2 when the portal to the Ifrit's dimension opens despite his efforts). However, it also takes little for him to get this hope back again: the very instance there's the slightest indication things can turn around, he's back on it again. This is seen in both Rivals games and also '06, where Elise pointing out she feels Sonic's presence in the wind makes Silver give her a rousing speech with the idea she can use the Emeralds to bring Sonic back again.

Silver is sassy, rude, and blunt. In Colours DS, he's got a clear opinion on Eggman's Experience the Future ride that is conveyed in quite a sarcastic manner ("They think THAT is what the future is like? Please." and saying Sonic should give it a pass), and he similarly expresses rather abrasive statements about people who are not his allies. Notably, even Sonic remarked once that Silver is getting on his nerves (in Rivals 1). He mocks Sonic in '06 after their first battle ("Hmpf! Is this a joke? How could someone like you cause the destruction of our world?"), and immediately rudely regards Knuckles after getting the information he wants out of him in Rivals 1 ("Got no time to explain it to someone like you… See ya!" followed by "Like I said before, I don't have time to deal with you right now. See ya!"). In Forces, he bluntly tells Knuckles "Who cares what it's called?" about Operation Big Wave, stressing the fact that a good strategy is more important than a good name. Overall, Silver also has a temper: especially in the Rivals games, he quickly goes to throwing hands when someone expresses scepticism about his mission or makes fun of him as a person. It certainly doesn't seem like he is okay with letting people walk over him!

In an interesting contrast to the above point, Silver is also kind and cherishes his friends dearly. In '06, he puts his entire mission to defeat the Iblis Trigger on hold when deciding to help Amy find her person she was looking for first. I am not actually sure why he does so: I think the fact the past is so beautiful and the people are happy there helped inspire him to spread that kindness to the girl who's been kind to him in turn so far? But Silver clearly cares for his friends and allies: in '06, he is distraught by the fact he'll lose Blaze to save the world, he is similarly seen with a hurt expression when Sonic's alleged death is brought up in Forces, and in Rivals 2, he is genuinely grateful to Espio for the help Espio gave him in stopping the Ifrit from destroying the world.

Silver is honest, to the point of being blunt also... and this thus means that he is not always taken seriously. In a Sonic Channel story, he tells a group of Soleannan officials that he is from the future and gives that as reason why he knows calamity will befall a specific place in Soleanna; this is precisely why he is not believed. In Rivals 2, he is very clear about needing the Chao to save the world: Knuckles and Rouge promptly determine that this is something highly unlikely and that his psychic powers must have made Silver "a bit goofy", despite the fact Silver is entirely correct.

Silver is not always correct in his thinking, but it is difficult to change his mind. It also seems that once he gets encouragement that he is perchance doing the right thing, he goes right back to his earlier ideas: seen in '06 with Blaze's statements about what must be done to change the future, where it took an intervention by Shadow and a trip to the past to change Silver's mind about Sonic in full. However, Silver does show the ability to be introspective. After his fallout with Amy in '06, he is sitting quietly by himself, entirely unengaged with his mission to destroy the Iblis Trigger and instead wondering if hurting one person to help many others is "right". In Rivals 2 he is the one who figures that just endlessly fighting is actually against his goal of collecting Chao, and thus he turns that very goal around into a battle with Sonic wherein the victory conditions are to collect the most Chao. And in Colours DS, he is the one taking note of the fact it feels like he and Blaze have fought together before, after Sonic points out they were in perfect sync.

Silver seems to like fighting and has a bit of a Blood Knight mentality. In Generations, he expresses happiness at brawling with Sonic again in a rematch (stating that it should be fun), and in Colours DS he is intrigued to find out what the robots in Sonic's era can do (but unfortunately has to face Orbot and Cubot, making him lament that there was no challenge). Similarly, in the Triumph cutscene of mission 2-3 in Colours DS, he almost begins one-upping Blaze about how he could easily have handled the likes of Orbot and Cubot by himself, to Blaze's displeasure. He thus also seems confident in his own abilities, helped by the fact his powers are tremendously strong and can do amazing feats.

Silver is sharp and takes note of small, almost insignificant details to come to correct conclusions. In Rivals 1, he notices "Eggman" is actually Eggman Nega due to his speech and mannerisms, as well as a small slip of Nega about how there'd be nobody to stand in his way in the past and future. He is also only shown as gullible in '06: in Generations, he originally fights Sonic because he's not sure if the real deal is asking him for the Chaos Emerald (thus not blindly trusting that someone who looks like Sonic actually is Sonic), and in Team Sonic Racing he is right on top of Eggman's plans with the Ultimate Energy Engine. In Rivals 2, he immediately determines at the first appearance of "Eggman" that it is actually Eggman Nega trying to pull the same trick as before, where he is shown to be correct as well.

This got very long, and I am certain I am missing some (or perhaps even many) things. I've written multiple posts about parts of Silver's personality before, but leave it to Tumblr to not return those to me, haha. But I think these are some of the most important aspects of Silver's personality! Lastly, there's also some things that are not explicitly stated but that I think do fit his personality well:

Silver appreciates the small things, things that other people might not notice so easily. His favourite thing is noted to be the blue sky in the Mario & Sonic games which is also shown with him stating that "the sky [of the past] is gorgeous" in '06, he marvels at the desert area of that game (that Amy notably shows more disregard for, asking him "What? You mean this desert?"), and he is multiple times noted to have awareness of the happiness of a whole world: the above quote is followed with "and everyone's happy", and in Colours DS he says "The sky is blue, and everyone's got a smile". A blue sky and the fact the people of the world all have a smile are not extremely noteworthy things, but they're clearly important enough for Silver to mention them both in two games.

Silver doesn't care much about what others think of him. The only time I can recall wherein he reacted crabby to someone poking fun at him is in Rivals 2, where Knuckles calls him crazy for thinking the Chao will be necessary to stop the world from being destroyed (here Silver's response is "I'll show you how crazy I am"). What he is doing furthermore also directly relates to him wanting to save the world, which could explain his annoyance at Knuckles not believing him. The only time wherein Silver has gotten anything akin to flustered in the games is, at the top of my head, '06 wherein Amy gets the jump on him and doesn't let him get a word inbetween her spiel before she drags him off to go find Sonic.

Lucifer

-When Lucifer first met you, he immediately knew you were special because bat demons were rare. He hasn't really met that many sinners. But you? You were something

-He had been visiting the hotel for the second or third time when he met you. You had somehow managed to hover above his head long enough to take the apple off of his hat and take a bite, and back flip into a perfect landing right in front of him.

-I don't think Lucifer had ever been that stunned. He had even stuttered introducing himself to you after that. But you weren't very fazed by him. You said your name, and told him the apple was very tart as you walked away.

-Safe to say that after that you had left a mark on his brain. (Maybe even his heart but he hadn't figured that out yet.) As he started coming around more often, he would find more and more reasons to speak with you or be near you. But you were so cold! You would just brush him off, or flirt with him until he was redder than the apple on his hat. But you never really spoke frankly with him.

-You had no idea, but the thought had entered his brain to make a duck modeled after you. When he presented it to you, you could tell he had spent hours working on it. But you just picked up it, looked at it and said thanks as you took it and walked away. Maybe it was because he had never been treated this way before but he couldn't stop thinking about how cold you were.

-Sure, you were a thief (a great one at that), but you wouldn't have anticipated you'd stolen his heart! It had gotten so much that one day he pulled you to the side and asked you if you hated him or if you were just playing hard to get.

-However, you didn't answer. You just looked him in the eyes, kissed him, and flew away. The king of hell never thought he'd fall for a thieving spy, but here we are.

-The two of you are basically inseparable by the time he's through. You might as well be his second marriage.

Charlie

-Charlie was the sweetest target you had ever met. So sweet, in fact, that you had canceled the hit on her hotel's vault personally. How could you steal from someone with such a pure heart? Besides, those were her family's jewels, mainly left to her from her mother.

-Because of your “change of heart” she offered you a job at the hotel! Initially, you were going to refuse, but the subliminal puppy dog eyes she held captivated you. You just couldn't say no to that face!

-Your sticky fingers were almost completely forgotten once you had come to work for the hotel. You never got to do much at reception, however. So sometimes…you'd have a little fun. Usually at Vaggie or Angel's expense.

-If you flew up to the ceiling and found the perfect perch, you could use your echolocation to mess with the hearing for long enough that you could snatch any jewelry they had on. It wasn't always much, however, because eventually they caught on to your little trick and stopped wearing jewelry when you were around.

-Charlie wasn't fond of this either. She would often ask you (albeit politely) to stop pranking your friends! Because if you prank your friends they won't trust you! You didn't really care though, you only stopped because she would pull it the puppy dog eyes. The only reason you actually agreed to stop was she said you could see her most prized piece of jewelry.

-It was beautiful. The most thoughtfully crafted piece you had ever seen; in hell and on earth. It was a necklace left to her by her mother made of diluted angelic steel and 24 karat gold with the most carefully carved ruby heart you had ever seen. She had explained that it had been a birthday gift that essentially doubled as a promise ring.

-She carefully unclasped the chain as she stood behind you in a silent question. You nodded, and she secured the necklace around your neck as she pulled you into a tight hug. It was obvious that you hadn't realized what the necklace had meant and that she'd had to explain it.

-Charlie took your hands into her own as she explained that if you were to have her, this necklace would mean the two of you were promised to wed, and that the necklace functioned as a ring of sorts. Her mother had gifted it to her as a promise to the person she fell in love with, and that she would feel it when they were the one.

-Obviously with your affinity for gems you accepted. She knew you so well.

Vaggie

-To be honest, Vaggie originally didn't like you very much. Mainly due to your sticky fingers. And also because you encouraged Angel Dust's bad habits by swiping jewels from people and pawning them off, and then giving him the money. Which he would obviously use to get drugs.

-It was pretty obvious that you hated rules. To her at least. You basically followed your own moral code and the only thing you ever seemed to care about was gems. Or just doing something to antagonize someone else.

-The one thing she couldn't fault you for, however, was that you hated people who messed with your crew. You might've had a colder exterior like she did, but you definitely didn't just let things slide. You were the silent and sexy but deadly type.

-She kind of warmed up to you, but it took a lot longer than you had expected. You were a huge flirt, and Vaggie was never the type that was good at receiving attention. But once you had seen how cute she was when flustered, you'd tease her every chance you could get. It took a while for her to get used to being complimented, or even just appreciated in general.

-It took some convincing to get you to use your sticky fingers for good. But she admired the fact that you decided to change. For her. Your main deal with her was that you'd only steal from irredeemable monsters (like Valentino) or take from the rich to give to those in need. You really weren't one for charity work, but because of how much you loved and appreciated Vaggie, you convinced yourself it was fine.

-Although you had some hidden talents. Like how flexible you were, and the fact that you could fly. She knew you most likely could because you were a bat, but no one had ever seen you use your wings. And she eventually figured out by the way you carried yourself that you used to be a spy. I mean, your strategies were off the charts, and you were able to get Intel way too easily.

-But these were never bad things. She appreciated that out of all the things you could've spent your after-life doing, you chose to stay with her and the crew at some rinky dink hotel to try and help sinners.

-She could tell you had a good heart inside of you. Somewhere. And she liked that about you.

Helluva Headcanons:

Blitzø

-To him, it was weird to have a bat demon in Imp City, but at the time he wasn't even thinking about that. He was thinking about the piece of jewelry he was missing from around his neck. Somehow, you had managed to walk up to him, snatch his mother's necklace, and walk away without him seeing you. He knew you'd be an asset immediately.

-Originally, the only reason Blitzø had kept you around after the two of you had met was because you had been the best pickpocket he had ever seen. He figured he'd have some use for you at some point, so he had basically set you to the side.

-But after he had hired you and he had to step out for some personal reason, you got assigned to lead. He had seen you at your best, and leadership really was your thing. So you were basically running every mission he wasn't on. And as much as you hated it, you knew he sent you because you were the best strategist out of the entire team.

-However, there was one mission that made him fall for you. It was a heist of some rich piece of shit topside. Which usually wasn't the kind of thing that I.M.P did, but that sinner was paying big bucks, so who was he to say no? However, initially he wished he had; everything was going wrong. He had stepped back into the leadership role for this one, but if he was being honest he was trying to put on a tough guy front to get your attention. Due to his poor planning, the four of you had gotten to the vault, and his dumbass tripped, and set off the alarm.

-You knew how to handle this though; in fact, you'd done it hundreds of times, topside and in hell. Thanks to your hyper-trained agility, you gracefully back flipped and cartwheeled your way through the beams and quickly landed yourself perfectly placed in front of the vault's door. Disabling the alarms just as quick as you had gotten there, the team stared at you dumb founded as you got the door open AND nabbed all the jewels by yourself before they could even walk over.

-Safe to say that at that point, Blitzø knew you were MUCH more than a regular pickpocket. Watching someone have that much grace with acrobatic moves? Yeah he was basically cumming in his pants from how hot you were.

-After that heist he was trying to spend more and more time with you, and less time stalking M&M. He even asked you out to Ozzie's. Twice. But thankfully the second time was because he wanted to go with you instead of being there to stalk your other favorite coworkers.

-Blitzø is pretty much infatuated with you. He might even work up the courage to propose to you. One day.

Beelzebub

-Beel noticed a lot of people at her parties. The only ones that ever got in trouble for anything, however, were the ones that tried to steal. She didn't like thieves. Although if she thought about it she did have an appreciation for gems herself.

-You were about to be kicked from one of her hellhound ragers, but she decided to give you a second chance. You seemed like a decent sinner, besides your sticky fingers. She actually kind of liked your vibe, you had this silent but deadly and sexy vibe going for you.

-You weren't super chatty, but you definitely could out drink most of the hounds at the party. Talking to you even more, you told her about your life on earth, and how you occasionally worked as a government spy. She was pretty impressed, in fact, she had the great idea of hiring you as security for her parties.

-You ended up being a great addition to her crew. Because you worked for her and she liked you, you got to live in the same estate you worked as security for, which kind of made sense if you think about it. The two of you hung out pretty often, and she'd get you presents for your birthday and just all around everyday gifts.

-One of the best gifts she'd ever given you was a hand carved Emerald with your names engraved in the gold. It was 24 karat gold with a rose gold finish, it looked straight out of a jewelry store in heaven. When you told her how much you had loved it, she just laughed and told you it was nothing, and that she didn't mind treating you.

-When the two of you had first met you weren't much of a party animal, but Bee's energy is so contagious in the best way possible. You're still a stone cold spy, but every now and then she'll notice you flirting with someone, and she smiles to herself, happy that her friend is getting to know people, even if you're keeping the cold demeanor up at all times.

-Even Tex likes you as much as she does, which is good, because if he didn't, she'd probably fuck him up. You've become the wine mom when she's sober, and when you're sober she's like your wild daughter. There'll be the occasion where your cold demeanor drops and you show that truly deep down you do care, and she admires you for being that vulnerable with her.

-All in all, y'all love each other so much it hurts, and it'll last forever.

Verosika

-The only reason you had even met Verosika is because of her tour dates being double booked. Had she not been in a rinky dink motel in Imp City, she wouldn't have gotten her stuff stolen.

-Most of it was the usual stuff people stole from A-list celebs; their underwear, their toothbrushes, hell even her flask was gone. But she honestly couldn't even bring herself to give a shit. Because the only important thing was missing. Her Asmodian Crystal was gone. Without it, she wouldn't be able to do any concerts topside for the next few months until she bought a new one.

-It took her a while to figure out where it had went or even how it was missing. She always kept it in her pocket! So who the fuck could've…

-Only one person. There was a bat demon that bumped into her on the way back from the coffee shop. When they had walked away she checked her pockets but didn't find anything wrong. Checking her pocket she found the crystal had been replaced with a fake. Oh she was going to get you.

-It took a lot of swallowing her pride but she was able to suck it up, and go to Blitzø to get him to hunt them down. But, her end of the deal was that she'd pay more to bring them alive.

-You didn't want to admit that it was a shoddy pickpocket job but when you wound up getting tossed through a portal at the feet of demon popstar Verosika, you figured it was over. But, turns out all she wanted was the crystal back. And you could keep your life if you worked for her.

-You basically became her personal pickpocket and her informant. Anything she needed stolen or any info she needed was easy pickings with you around. The two of you actually became friends because of how similar you were. The two of you even robbed jewelry stores for fun sometimes. She knew how much you liked jewels, and you knew how much she enjoyed causing trouble.

-Safe to say the two of you are trouble. You two of you often tag team other demons; the two of you are thieving flirts, not much more to it besides two besties at their best.

Fizzarolli

-Fizz was and always will be a circus guy at heart. So seeing someone with all the qualities needed in a good acrobat sends him reeling. But he quickly realized why you were center stage, stealing the audience's breath away; he was the star. So you had to resort to being the cold-hearted thieving acrobat.

-There were many jokes to be made about the fact that you were a bat acrobat, but now wasn't the time. You would've been a crowd favorite, you were hot, you were amazing at what you do, and you have an affinity for swiping jewels when the audience wasn't looking. That might've been Buckzo's favorite part about your act.

-The only reason he kept you around was that the amount of gems you stole from the audience while he and Blitzø performed made just enough for him to care about whether you were performing or not every night.

-If he was being honest, he kind of liked you. You were cool; you had a good stage presence, you looked cool, and he thought you always managed to steal the prettiest jewels.

-When he left the circus he never thought he'd see you again. But here you are, stealing from Prince Stolas’ personal treasury. Had he not caught you scaling the wall with a giant bag full of gems he never would've known you had even done anything…

-Obviously he didn't rat you out, but he did ask you to catch up with him at a later date. He figured he might as well make the best out of seeing you again for the first time in 10 years. Whatever you had going on had to be better than working for Mammon.

-Turns out, you had some kind of serial jewel robber thing going on. You'd get tipped off by your informant, steal whatever the score was, and sell it off to the highest bidder. His first question was why you decided on thievery, but you just shrugged and told him it was all you really knew. It was how you died, and so it'll be how you live your afterlife.

-You and Fizzy have a pretty good relationship. Childhood besties reuniting is always the best.

I’d love to hear your headcannons on what G.U.N. thinks of the sonic cast! Idk what it is exactly but the idea of G.U.N. coming up with a bunch of plans in regards to (mostly) a bunch of teens and kids is intriguing to me

This is such a fun and interesting prompt, thank you so much for sending it! I love worldbuilding in the Sonic universe lol. LONG post below cut

Sonic:

The ultimate worst case scenario.

Much in the same way an ICBM can be anywhere in the world within 30 minutes, Sonic can be anywhere at any time and cause MASSIVE amounts of destruction.

GUN wasn't nearly as worried about Sonic before they tried to frame him in SA2. They thought it'd be easy to pin the blame of Shadow's behaviors on Sonic and then pardon him later.

They were wrong.

Now GUN threat evaluators place Sonic just behind Eggman in world threat level. They struggle to understand what his morals might be and all their attempts to reach out to Sonic and ask him to clarify have been met with a "nah!" from the hedgehog himself.

There's one group in particular within the organization who are extremely paranoid about Sonic to the point of suggesting proactive measures against him.

. . . which everyone else in the organization either laughs at/ignores/prohibits.

There is no set-in-stone contingency for Sonic, as nobody can agree on one, but the plan that has the most consensus is to somehow utilize Team Dark.

Any attempts to discuss this with Team Dark have been turned down. Shadow refuses to speak of it, Rouge laughs it off, and Omega refuses to collaborate because he promised Shadow he wouldn't.

Tails:

Due to Tails' extensive social media presence, GUN feels like they have pretty good tabs on what's going on in Tails' head at any given moment, so they're a lot less paranoid about him.

A very exclusive group of people brainstorm what the contingencies might be on the off chance Tails does present a threat to the world.

(Because even in discussing Tails, they're much more worried about Sonic's reaction to them have contingencies for the fox)

A lot of their contingencies for Tails are the same as those for Eggman. GUN feels pretty prepared for any sort of Tails Overlord scenario, actually.

Minus Sonic, that is.

Current GUN protocol is to treat Tails very very nicely so that Sonic doesn't start getting concerned.

This is why Tails is allowed to be Omega's primary mechanic.

Knuckles:

GUN sent drones directly to Angel Island. Once.

Their old protocol was for him to remain "uncontacted". Yikes.

After Knuckles started getting more involved in struggles against Eggman, GUN started doing more research into him.

Because he mostly stays up on Angel Island and acts as a competent guardian of the Master Emerald, GUN isn't too worried about him? If anything, they're glad that someone with a significant power level is preventing Eggman from stealing the ME.

They've tried to initiate diplomatic contact with him but he's turned them down every time

He knows that GUN monitors the ME from afar- sometimes on clear days he sees a GUN drone floating a few miles off of Angel Island.

It's a bit of an uneasy truce honestly. GUN's biggest concern is that Knuckles could start using the ME for his own purposes, but so far it hasn't looked like that would ever be the case.

As for contingency plans- GUN has asked Rouge if she thinks she'd be able to steal the Master Emerald. (To which she's replied yes, of course.)

The plan is to get the ME off of Angel Island and into a specially designed GUN stronghold in an undisclosed location.

Once the guardian is separated from his emerald, GUN is pretty sure they'll be able to deal with him.

(They are VASTLY underestimating him due to a lack of data)

Amy:

No contingency plans. She's flying under GUN's radar.

They probably should have something in place for her honestly.

See Knuckles' note about vast underestimation due to a lack of data.

Shadow:

The contingency for Shadow is the most detailed contingency file GUN has.

. . . and Shadow himself has helped write some of it.

The file has a long and storied history reaching all the way back 50 years. It's always been something on GUN's mind.

The current contingency is based on the idea that the first thing he'll do once he goes rogue is try to collect the chaos emeralds.

A lot of the plan involves setting a trap with lots and lots of firepower.

There's also an addendum of the plan about utilizing the other members of Team Dark, either to combat against Shadow or as hostages. Shadow is unaware of the latter. In either strategy, Omega is considered vital.

GUN has a lot of scientific data on Shadow's weaknesses to certain kinds/amounts of chaos radiation and all that jazz, so they feel a lot more confident about their ability to bring him down compared to Sonic.

Something about the enemy you know being better than the enemy you don't.

Rouge:

GUN has determined that Rouge is very unlikely to be a world-ending threat.

But a GUN-ending threat? Absolutely.

Rouge going rogue is the worst case scenario for GUN's continued survival as an organization.

They know they can't keep her out of their files or any of their locations. If she wants to sell all of their secrets or steal all of their tech, they know they're very unlikely to stop her.

Current contingencies include using the other members of Team Dark to persuade her against destroying the organization if they're willing to cooperate, or taking them hostage to negotiate if they're not.

They also plan on a public smear campaign against her- basically revealing everything they know about her while she tries to reveal everything about them.

Rouge knows about all of these plans, of course.

There's definitely a tension between her and GUN because of this.

The current plan is to treat her well and convince her to stay on GUN's side at all costs (usually through bribery!)

Omega:

GUN's contingencies for Omega are really, really barebones.

It pretty much just boils down to "destroy him".

They aren't too worried about him, kinda like with Tails. GUN knows how to destroy Badniks. They've been destroying Badniks for lots of years at this point.

If anything, they consider Omega to be the least threatening member of Team Dark and the best lynchpin for if either other member of the team goes rogue.

(It should be noted that they still expect any scenario where Omega goes rogue to have the highest number of immediate civilian casualties.)

Silver:

HOO BOY, is GUN worried about Silver.

Not because of his powerset- GUN is pretty sure they can just knock him on the head to neutralize him.

(Like Knuckles and Amy, they are vastly underestimating him)

But the time travel shenanigans scare the shit out of them.

GUN is the sort of organization to have protocols in place for working with future or past versions of themselves.

They also fund a shitload of research into detecting changes and potential threats in the timeline.

(They detected the Sonic Generations incident when it happened and it remains one of the most intensely studied events.)

(They've also detected a strange sort of time blip over Soleanna, but every time someone gets interested in studying it, their drive seems to wane until they're no longer concerned about it. Strange. . .)

TL;DR: They treat Silver like a fucking SCP. Current protocol is for all agents to limit contact with him in order to prevent damage to the timeline.

Honestly if GUN wasn't so scared of him, Silver wouldn't exactly be opposed to getting their help managing the timeline shenanigans.

Blaze:

Blaze has not initiated any sort of formal diplomacy with any government or organization in Sonic's dimension.

GUN tracks the unique energy signatures of the Sol Emeralds through their strange link/interaction with the Chaos emeralds.

They haven't quite figured out what's going on.

And frankly, they don't actually know that Blaze is from another dimension.

They see her very rarely. They know that something is strange about her energy readings but just assume that she's one of Sonic's lesser known friends who doesn't get out very often.

Team Chaotix:

I'm grouping them together because GUN doesn't have any contingencies for them. Vector, Espio, and Charmy are all under their radar.

They should be worried about Espio. They're already worried about Rouge's stealth capabilities. I'm pretty sure whoever's managing these contingencies within GUN would have a heart attack upon learning that somebody on this planet figured out how to actually turn invisible.

And that's it!

I'd actually like to end this post with a bit of a weird note- I don't think that GUN would be evil for developing contingencies like this.

I myself work in the field of safety. This field includes things such as occupational safety, and most pertinently for this post, emergency management. I've actually helped write protocols for companies about what workplaces should do in the event of an active shooter or other outside threat such as a natural disaster or a civil conflict.

(If I lived and worked in Sonic's universe, I would most certainly have to write safety protocols about what to do if Eggman attacks, for example!)

It's important to have protocols in place for the worst case scenario, no matter how unlikely or unthinkable that scenario is. And in Sonic's universe, this is especially important! This is a universe where society is regularly attacked by a mustache-twirling, robot-building terrorist! Of course GUN is going to keep tabs on other individuals who could post a similar threat and plan on how to stop them should they ever become a threat to the public.

I'm definitely not excusing GUN for any of the shady things they've done in canon, but it is an interesting point to think about that they're the best equipped to handle any sort of Dark Sonic/Sonic.exe/insert your favorite name for "this character but evil" here/mirror universe scenario.
