If I had a nickle for every time I was in a fandom, known for making a fancomic and as soon as its finished, stopped making art for that fandom because the fans were so chronically online - I'd have two nickels.

Do you think Linda listened to unending rants about the Monarchy and how fucked up they were, and Simon just going on and on about the ridiculousness of having rightful distribution of wealth when you have one family taking all of it, or tax’s and how they should be used for schools, roads and the environment instead of paying for the lavish lifestyle of the royals? Then being so shocked when Prince Fucking Wilhelm walks through her door AND THEN the sex tape comes out and all this poor woman is thinking (after having concerns for her son of course) is how ridiculous her son is for falling for a royal after throwing so much energy into disliking them.

in case you were curious so far then we year has sucked for me 🥸
#first i got hit in my car and my dad yelled at me despite it not being my fault then i stopped sleeping and started having stress dreams#then the person leading rosh hashanah gave a horrible speech on how people don’t sacrifce like they used to and then yelled at us for quote#not doing enough jewish things and how we should volunteer to help but like we were there#then i kept having panic attacks and this application fucked ip on me and i panicked about that and now i’ve been exposed to covid and im no#not allowed to go to yom kippur services and i might not be allowed to sing at this concert thing i’ve been working my butt on and my teache#told me not to come to class (which im not mad about) but im also not allowed to leave my room once i get back to my condo which is going to#make me super claustrophobic but i know it’s better for everyone’s safety i just am def going to get lonely in my room especially since i dd#didn’t bring my cats with me and decided to take them back with me later#oh and also it was my therapist who accidentally exposed me which is totally not her fault it’s just like ahhhh#thanks for listening to my rant :)

list of wilmon headcanons ft. the boys being casually protective and besotted with each other
both of them are just like,, obsessed with anything the other does. like when simon has a choir solo wille is going full “that’s my BOYFRIEND” bragging and when wille has to give a speech, simon is constantly talking about how proud of wille he is to the point that their friends tell him to stfu already
simon remains anti-monarchy and will debate with wille endlessly over certain topics (read: rant at wille because his boyfriend knows he’s right and isn’t fighting back) but he is the FIRST to defend wille if anyone ever says anything negative about him as the crown prince. like he will throw hands if necessary
now that wille got what he needed removing august from power, he is not afraid to hold a grudge over the way vincent was/is treating simon. he talks back during rowing, glares at him at lunch, and will step in immediately if he says something mean to simon
one of the crown’s rules for them to be public is that they had to keep pda to a minimum. they completely s u c k at following this rule. they are constantly holding hands, wille loves hugging simon from behind, there’s kisses traded in the hallways. they are nauseatingly THAT couple. there is at least one phone call a week from the royal press office telling them to calm tf down
it’s not uncommon to see simon absolutely transfixed on wille during workies. everyone knows that wille has a staring habit but simon is just as bad. he’ll completely space out of a conversation, trailing off in the middle of sentences, because he caught sight of wille across the room and is just,,, entranced
both of them have a habit of staking subtle (at least they think it’s subtle) claim on each other via putting the other in their clothes. simon constantly comes to school in wille’s sweaters and wille has practically claimed ownership to simon’s purple sweatshirt. the rest of the student body has moved past commenting
simon hates the way wille shuts down after phone calls with his mother. he gets this sad look and gets quiet and he’s watched wille have a few too many panic attacks. he counteracts this by showing wille as much affection as humanly possible, reminding him that his mother is wrong about whatever she said about him, and distracting him by singing
on the matter of singing, one of simon’s new passtimes is writing little songs, jingles, whatever about wille. it’s a fantastic way to make his boyfriend smile, and he also just loves to see how long it takes wille to realize what he’s singing is actually about him
it takes a little while for rosh and ayub to warm back up to wille, both of them worried that the prince was just going to hurt him or break his heart again. eventually, simon convinces them to at least hang out with him once, and they change their minds when they see how happy simon looks with him and how much the prince makes him laugh, and how wille looks at simon like he hung all the stars in the sky
“i love you” is like,, an hourly affirmation for them both. they cannot go without saying it at least five times a day. part of it is because they just love saying and hearing it, and the other part of it is that neither of them thought they’d ever get a relationship like this (or that they’re relationship would ever be public) so they need the reminder that this is real and they have each other for real

This is a bit of an intracommunity Jewish rant, it won't matter to most people here, but.
Gerim (converts into Judaism) have always been part of my life and it's so weird to see their presence debated. Like any of us has the right to challenge them on if they belong or not.
My uncle, my childhood best friend's dad, friends, partners, my cousin's wife, a friend's daughter in law, a whole family I used to babysit for, the person I married. Literally all my life gerim have been threads in the fabric of what I knew as a healthy Jewish community, and there was never a difference between us in terms of how Jewish we were.
The way I was taught about it, a ger is drawn to Judaism because they start out with a Jewish soul. There are sparks of divinity in all corners of the world and in every human society, and a Jewish soul would occasionally be born into a non-Jewish community in order to collect those sparks and connect them to us as they find their path home. They always belonged. They were drawn to Judaism because their souls were Jewish to begin with.
Nowadays I don't exactly believe in souls. For me right now, giyur is the process of being adopted into the community. But I still see beauty in the way I was taught to see it. For me, the fact that gerim have a different experience doesn't make them less Jewish. And it doesn't matter that they didn't necessarily grow up being Jewish.
The experience of growing up with understanding of our Jewish identity is far from universal, even among people born to Jewish parents. So many communities were lost to centuries of oppression that many people discover they're Jewish later in life. My mom grew up in France, with no knowledge of Judaism beyond the fact that she is Jewish and it's a secret. She didn't know what Yom Kippur is, Rosh Hashana, Pesach. Nothing. When she felt sad they had no holidays, my grandparents opted to celebrate Christmas rather than let her know her culture, because they were so traumatized by the holocaust they refused to be different. Despite that, she was just as Jewish as my father who was born to strict religious Tunisian parents. She grew up knowing nothing about Judaism and finding her way back into it. My mom didn't need to convert, she only needed to reconnect. But if you look at her early life and the things she needed to learn, she'd have a lot in common with a giyoret. But no one would challenge the fact that she belonged.
Blood isn't what makes us Jewish. That's why giyur is one of our practices. It's part of Judaism. Being a ger is a Jewish experience.

was ranting about a midnight rain lyric to @stygianirondiangelo and also my laptop is refusing to work with me six hours before a presentation so all of you get an angsty post about wilmon and taylor lyrics so I don’t go insane
there’s a line in midnight rain that goes “It came like a postcard/Picture perfect, shiny family/Holiday, peppermint candy/But for him, it's every day” that basically means taylor finds out one of her exes moved on through a postcard of a shiny snapshot of his new family, captured in their most perfect state during the holidays. however, he has to go through the same thing every time he gets news of her, because anyone outside of her inner circle has to find out news of her through shiny, polished pictures carefully chosen, just like a postcard she sends to the general public, including him.
then I started thinking about how wilmon fit into that line (obviously), and the difference between how wille interacts with simon’s private life compared to simon finding out about anything that goes on in wilhelm’s life. wille sees simon’s life in a tangible light - he sees silly photos taken and posted without a second thought, meets his family, goes to a football game with rosh and ayub, and even sees micke from a distance. it’s personal for him; he gets to meet his family and friends and form connections and care. in comparison, simon finds out about everything going on in wille’s life through news, interviews, planned pictures, and scripted videos. he hears about the fight and wille’s apology through news outlets, finds out about erik again, on the news, doesn’t even see wille’s reaction to the news, watches him at his brother’s funeral on the television. it’s all removed and controlled, and even while talking to wille, there’s a barrier between what he can and can’t say (‘I’m not supposed to talk about politics”).

my mum has gone to sleep so here's a continuation of my rant to her about young royals season 2.
I think the ending of this season of YR was actually really good. It needed to be like this.
Wille didn't come out because he felt like he had no other choice. Simon wasn't giving him an ultimatum on purpose, but he kind of was realistically, and if we hadn't had that scene of Simon agreeing to be with wilhelm despite having to stay a secret, then Wilhelm coming out and going public would feel like something he did just to get Simon back. But it isn't. He makes that choice, knowing he has Simon either way.
Simon goes back on a boundary yes, but it is a choice he makes, knowing all the information. And a lot of stuff has changed since then anyway:
-Wilhelm started talking to Simon about issues, talking more openly.
-The people who matter already know, and at no point does Wille seem peturbed by that. The whole school pretty much knows, Wille talks to Simon openly in front of Ayub and Rosh, Wille talks with felice about it and in front of Sara. He's also not at all secretive when it comes to physical affection. throughout this season we see Wille reaching out for Simon, often in public places. Even their conversation about getting back together happened where people could see them. Not out in the open, not everyone, but there were people stood in the hallway in clear view. Wille doesn't act like he's ashamed of him. The situation is just complicated and Simon gets to understand that more this season.
-Wilhelm is respecting his boundaries more, he doesn't try to stop Simon from going to the police, only explains to him the situation so he can have all the facts.
-Simon has tried being with someone else, he has tried staying away from Wille and didn't make him happy
-Wilhelm explores other options for his future (which opens a door for them to actually have one together)
-the secrets have an end date.
But I think Simon accepting Wille's situation and choosing to be with him anyway is also a nod at Simon accepting his own flaws. Marcus points out to him that he's done some shitty things, and that he seems himself as the victim a lot of the time, and I think that gives him the courage to go after what he wants, and accept that it's going to be messy.
But I'm really glad we got to see Wille come out on his own terms. not because it was the only way to get Simon back, not because he got outed but because he chose to take back his own story.
This makes me really interested to see what comes next. I really want to see them face issues together instead of fighting each other through problems. I just want these boys to be happy for longer than 30 seconds. please.
now just some observations
Wilhelm literally didn't smile once this season until the masquerade ball when Simon kissed.
the fish wow, honestly I don't know if those fish actually have names or not. Like did Simon just name them on the spot when wilhelm asked, and then later couldn't remember the names he had picked because he had been so out of it at the time because Wille was distracting him? that would be funny. I kinda headcannon that Simon can't remember his fishes names but Wille can. Wille always pays attention when Simon speaks.
Also that moment when Simon tells wilhelm the song is about him and you can see like fifty emotions flash across his face as he tries to unpack that. you can see him trying to unpack the lyrics of the song in his mind and its so funny.
Boris the therapist is the real MVP.
Jan olof is a dickhead. Like what even is his job?
Kristina was actually a lil bit better this season. But I think the real indication of her character will be how she reacts to Wille coming out publicly. Its been hard to tell if all her words so far have been manipulations or not. If she was telling the truth about being open to Wille's decisions about his life when he's an adult, this won't be entirely catastrophic to her. But when she said that it felt like she was just delaying telling him to stay in the closet forever.
Also nice we got to see Wille talk about his sexuality with nils, even if nils was just hitting on him. The acknowledgement that Wille is queer, not just into Simon, and that if he were to date again, it would most likely be men, was cool.
Stella and fredrika are so sweet. Please I need them to become a thing. I was holding out for Sara and felice to happen, but fuck it.
I still think felice is a lesbian. she acknowledges that her attraction to Wilhelm was only because he's a Prince. Comphet. need I say more?
lesbian Rosh. we were right and I love it.
What the fuck was that rowing competition I was expecting them to like.... actually row.
what I want from season 3, if it happens:
Simon and willhelm talking. facing problems together, as a couple. Can we just get a season were they don't break up. please? I'm tired of the will they won't they, just give me my boys being happy.
Ayub and Rosh encouraging Wilmon. I got mad at them when they kept telling Simon to get over him
Sara redemption arc (without August he can go fuck himself)
Simon taking accountability for something.
Wilhelm and Simon going on a date (please)

young royals season 2 spoilers
I need to rant, I need to rant, I need to raaaaaaaaant!!!
What a fucking fantastic season. What a fucking incredible finale. Oh my god, that was so genious. So perfect. Because it left so many things unaswered (obviously for a next season), but at the same time, the entire game just changed. I’m so proud of both Wille and Simon for how much they changed and how they decided to deal with the situation at the end. I’m so fucking happy about how the writters chose to really show how many bad choices people can make, even if they’re not bad people. I love three dimensional characters, that make mistakes and all that. Simon’s story with Marcus was amazing, and so raw and real, I’ve known so many people that have been through that same situation. And I loved how they chose to not make Marcus forgive Simon, cause he shouldn’t. Sarah’s arc was also good, it made me hate the character, but I kind of understood all she went through, and even if we hate her for all the shit she did, I feel like they left a lot of room for her to grow now in a next season. August was so brilliant as a vilan as well, cause he starts in deep shit, and we think he’s finally gonna change, maybe there’s a redemption arc comming and all that, but the second he gets a glimps of power back into his hands he goes right back into being a dispicable person, and that’s exactly what we like about him!
Wille going through his anxiety and all, and watching him starting to figure out that there’s something wrong and he needs help broke my heart into a thousand pieces, but watching his therapist at the end, all proud of him while he made that speech was sensational. And there was finally a click inside his head about how selfish and fear induced all his decisions were, and with that fucking SPECTACULAR ending, that just cimmented that he doesn’t wanna do that anymore. He finally took control of his own life. Of course, I expect a lot of shit comming next after he did that, the queen will not be happy, and the entire monarchy will colapse, for sure. But probably now, after Sarah calls the cops, and August is fucked, they’re gonna have a lot of issues finding a perfect prince, so I have no idea what’s gonna happen, but holy shit I want more.
Simon too. I loved his whole thing with Marcus, and him trying so hard to forget Wille, cause he knew Wille wasn’t good for him, and figuring out that even with a perfect guy by his side (I fucking loved Marcus) he still loves who he loves, and he can’t stay away from Wille. A little problematci? Yes, but we fcking love it. And I honestly relate so much to Simon, he’s forever my favorite character.
Felice was brilliant, we love her inconditionally, can’t wait to see more of her. Also love the lesbian romance blossoming. Nills comming out was, unexpected, but welcomed. Ayub and Rosh are still the best friends anybody can have. I don’t know I just loved every second of this season, and I love Young Royals so much, and I can’t wait to wait another year to get season 3.

Loves oldie films. Alice Sweet Alice, Sleepaway Camp, Friday the 13th, Halloween, House of Wax (one with Vincent Price), House on Haunted Hill (still the one with Vincent Price), Chucky. Will get squirmy when watching Bride of Chucky, he has a crush on Jennifer Tilly and it's BAD.
4. Does he ever get to a point where he DOESN'T want to be touched?
Only when severely overstimulated. Or when very angry, he dislikes being touched when he's at his boiling point. Maybe straight after coming out of the pool, when he looks like a drowned cat and smells like chlorine.
5. Any pet names he wouldn't want to be called?
... Not a big fan of Pumpkin? Or food based ones. Had a nightmare after watching an old Hansel and Gretel film and dislikes the thought that you wanna eat him. Eating him out is great, tho.

Please. This man would love to take catnaps for the rest of his life. Especially with someone else.

Grew up in a Jewish family but when his mom remarried into a gentile family, they stopped practicing, except for Passover, Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Hanukkah. Still is largely nonpracticing except for the holidays. Did toy with taking his dad's last name but he moved overseas and only his grandparents call him Gavrel, instead of Gabriel. Also his go to lil exclamation is Oy Vey, just very quietly. (this is 100% based on myself at this point)

Do it. He'll wear it to work and rub the texture just to calm himself and think of you <3
9. Hard limits?
No scat, watersports, vomit, or actually being hit/ hitting you. Is quite vanilla but has a deep kinky side just waiting to be teased out of him. His safe word is "Balance Sheet", nothing gets him softer in seconds.

I’ve just noticed how Simon’s plate is completely untouched. It’s placed as far away from him as it could possibly go. Contrast this with Rosh and Ayub, who are both close to their plates and glasses, and it’s clear that they’ve had something to eat and drink.
Maybe Rosh started eating a satsuma to see if it’d entice Simon into eating one too? There’s an unpeeled one on table.
The thing is Simon must be starving. Last time we see him having food is when he’s at the dinning hall in episode 5. But, quite unlike what we’ve seen with Simon before (did they have to feed Omar in between takes?) we don’t actually see him eat anything. This is even more highlighted in the scene by everyone else at the table seemly playing with the food while he stares into nothing.

Heavy is the head:The Crown and Young Royals
PSA: Any mentions of Queen Elizabeth and other members of the BRF in this post refer exclusively to their fictional characters in The Crown and not the actual people. I’m not a real PPO and I don’t know these people.
As a fan of both shows, I’ve always felt that Young Royals borrowed a lot from Queen Elizabeth’s characterization in The Crown for Kristina’s character. After rewatching a few scenes from The Crown, not only am I convinced that this is the case, but that I also wanted to compare how these two shows represent monarchy.
One of the central themes of The Crown is the idea that ‘heavy is the head that holds the crown. In order to be Queen, Elizabeth has to sacrifice herself. This is explicitly stated by Elizabeth’s grandmother in a letter she sends the new Queen after her father’s death in the first season:

August Quotes the Godfather: betrayal, vengeance, and loneliness
I’ve always just slightly annoyed at August saying this, whenever someone asks why the Erikssons are at the party :
And yes, I know 80% of the things he says are slightly annoying and goddamn Malte for his excellent delivery of the shittiest comments.
But still, he’s quoting the Godfather at a Gen Z High School party. Of course, ‘Keep your friends close but your enemies closer’ is now just a phrase people say, often with no connection to the film that made it popular.
But the fact he’s specifically saying it in English makes me think that August was intentionally quoting the film. And it makes sense that he’d know this films enough to reference them. The protagonist is a sly, attractive man, wealthy enough to disregard the law, all while wearing a stylishly pulled-back hairdo These films are the stories of rich men, who control everyone and everything around them. Men who make offers that cannot be refused. Men whose pulse doesn’t shake if they have to avenge their father or kill the brother that betrayed him. Female character are either objects of desire or victims of violence, with little to no agency.
August quoting this is telling us, the audience, that he’s the kind of person that values and admires this kind of film. But also that to a certain degree that he wants the people around him to know that of him. He knows these movies, and wants to be perceived as someone similar to its leads not just by quoting the film, but by claiming to adopt one of its most famous tenets.
We as the audience also know that this is a performance for him . August didn’t invite Simon and Sara so he could ‘keep his enemies closer’. His motivation for lying here is strange to me. Yes, Simon is someone he considers below him, but having Simon get him booze from outside is not something that preposterous. It’s even something that another character suggests. But August had asked Simon that favour out of desperation, because he had no way out. I think his unwillingness to admit that is telling about how much August values his perceived power and ability to get what he wants. We also see how meticulous he can be about maintaining it.
But I think this quote is also a foreshadowing for what’s to come for August. The quote is something Michael Corleone says in Godfather II, a film that examines the rise and downfall of the Corleone family. Betrayal and revenge are some of the key themes of this story. Michael is betrayed by some of the most important people in his life. The biggest betrayal of all is his brother Fredo’s.

Earthlings, we come in peace! Strange things are afoot in Roswell, New Mexico, and it isn’t just the smell of the Crashdown Café after dark. Reports have been filed all over claiming to have experienced strange flashing lights in the sky, and the owner of Puhlman’s Ranch has been stumbling across some very strange looking circles in his fields. The conspiracy theorists are running rife with ideas and explanations, waving around supposed evidence of alien activity and ranting to the locals with colanders balanced precariously upon their heads. Whether the extraterrestrial activity is merely juvenile hijinks or something more, there are clues to be had all over town to the strange goings on; this month, ensure that your muse’s eyes are trained on the sky. You don’t want to miss a thing.
