Okay the thing with arguments like "Ruby bad cause she didn't save Roman and cut off Tyrian's tail :(" or "Weiss bad because she stabbed Hazel :(" is that these characters they're fighting are villains who are actively out to hurt them. Like. With Roman, he was beating Ruby with a cane and literally about to kill her.
What do you expect her to do? She didn't even have a weapon on her. She couldn't have done more than try to warn him, but even then it's pretty understandable she didn't. She cut off Tyrian's tail because he was trying to kidnap her. Like. C'mon. Use some common sense are you gonna try and save someone whos beating you up or politely tell a would-be kidnapper no? and to add to that, a would-be kidnapper who just poisoned her uncle.
And with Weiss stabbing Hazel, he was also actively out to hurt her friends. He wasn't after Weiss specifically, but he was legit just trying to kill her friends earlier. Now my memories hazy but I'm pretty sure she was conscious enough to see him fighting Ren and Nora and going after Oz/Oscar.
The fact that RWBYS heroes aren't afraid to kill/harm a villain is what makes them good heroes to me. Say what you want but a hero who has the whole 'everyone has good in them!' mentality is overdone and boring. The villains in RWBY specifically are shitty people for a reason, characters such as Cinder or Ironwood don't deserve redemption imo. You made your bed, now lie in it.
And sometimes that bed just so happens to be a grave.
