“[MC] and Daniel? Ah! Such good friends, they are!” — Lottie, answering about you and your boyfriend.
Without a doubt, you and Daniel were good friends, absolutely. I mean, you two were always side-by-side. Arms linked, shoulders glued to one another, teasing remarks thrown at each other.
You two even shared a dorm. You and Daniel were good roommates, for sure. You two would often study together on the dorm room table. Textbooks stacked up, several notebooks open, concentrated faces, and scribbling quills.
On top of that, you and Daniel’re also good classmates. Always pairing up with each other, sulking when you aren’t.
Always saved a seat for the other, sneaked answers scribbled on a small torn paper, passed notes to one another... The like.
Lottie is definitely right. And everyone could see it; even the teachers, the paintings, a few house elves.
...However, for a pair of good friends, you two seem to be closer than Robyn and Kevin... Well, with your faces slightly flushed and your fingers wandering in hopes to find the other’s. With lingering glances at one another and content expressions relaxing on your facial features.
Each and everyone’s Hogwarts uniform isn’t all the same—of course, that goes without saying when it comes to everyone’s body proportions.
Though sometimes you could even identify your own necktie from another’s, even in the same house. It might be a small odd spot on the material that’s color is a little off from the rest, or maybe a rather short thread hanging out from the hem...
However, you stare at you and your roommate’s necktie placed on the dresser in the morning as you prepare, one is shorter than the other. You don’t even think about which one is yours, grabbing which your ‘gut’ tells you is so—which just so happens to be Daniel’s.
And the next morning you pick up his again, and the morning after, and the morning after... Not that any of you would notice.
But sometimes it might not be an accident, sometimes it might not even be your tie.
Like times where he’d lend you his robe when you forget your own, or when you lend him yours.
Sometimes none of you had even forgotten your robes—you simply swap. And for what?
Well, none of you really had the chance to establish the answer. Not when no one asked, anyway.
It’s rather ironic, though? One moment, you and your roommate are deeply delving into the pages of your textbooks, and then you’re leaning towards him, pressing your lips against his, the next. Daniel’s hand grabs a fistful of your shirt, yours grip on the arm of his chair.
Not to mention the fact you and your classmate hold hands under the table during class. Oh, well.
Ah, the flushed look on your faces when Professor McGonagall offers you—“A reminder that the Forbidden Forest is strictly off-limits. I know its mystery and secrets may tempt you. But trust me. Only danger and peril will await those foolish enough to enter.”
And you and Daniel nod as if you didn't just share a kiss in that same exact ‘off-limits’ location last night.
At one point you and Daniel have grown on edge of whether or not your friends had found out.
So you were a little befuddled to see the astonished look on their faces when they caught Daniel—leaning over to place a quick peck on your lips before hurrying to class.
Of course, there was no reason to further keep your relationship a secret, so you tried to unravel the truth as casually as possible.
“Oh. Daniel and I are dating.”
There’s a mix of distinct reactions on their end—surprise, betrayal, aloofness? They’re either too dramatic or too indifferent. But it’s only for a mere second.
Lottie thinks back on the numerous times you and Daniel had acted a little odd and the realisation hits her like... A gust of wind.
Because if she were to be honest, she saw it coming from a mile away. I mean, what else would explain the way she’d doodle you and Daniel together?
That one painting with you and Daniel on one of the benches, fingers intertwined, faces inches away from one another yet you two were only merely having a chat? Well, there’s your explanation.
Ivy titters out loud, a wide smile spread across her face. “I knew it!”
Kevin takes a moment to pause and decides that it wasn’t really much of a surprise, yet he questions why you didn’t tell them sooner—s’well as Robyn, who runs her fingers through her hair with a rather agitated face. “Why didn’t you tell us?!”
“—Well,” she cuts herself off before you could reply, “I kind of already knew, so. I just needed confirmation.”
You blink. “You did?”
“Oh come one, what pair of ‘good friends’ sneak out into Moaning Myrtle’s bathroom to kiss anyway?” Robyn eyes you as she places her hand on her hip.
...Perhaps you and Daniel weren’t so discreet after all.
It's rather ironic though, isn’t it? Because despite you and Daniel being boyfriends, you still act like you haven’t escaped the puppy love stage. Maybe you never will. Not with the dopey grins you exchange from across the room.
Not with the way your hearts still feel like they’re beating out of your chests as you latch onto each other, nearly out of breath from how bad you’re laughing.
The blush forming on your cheeks as you stop momentarily and get a glimpse of his euphoric face, with the same smile you just can’t get enough of.
Or when he crawls into your bed instead of his as you stare at your ceiling, softly rambling about how nice it would be if you and him went outside right now and flew around the castle. Daniel isn’t listening unfortunately. He’s staring at you.
Not when he still gets surprised at the way you suddenly grab ahold of his hand with a grin on your face. A grin that tells him everything he needs to know—that he’s safe. That he’s home. He furrows his eyebrows at the ground with a poorly fought-back smile.

Some random PotO moments that I love
(Some of these are little acting details from Jon Robyns' second performance on the West End aka the only live version I've seen)
This is also not a comprehensive list of all of them because everything in this show is great
Okay, everyone loves this, but the chandelier rising with the overture is incredible and deserves to be on every list.
The fact that The Phantom gets about 20,000 francs a month (which I'm convinced he just uses to keep his candle collection thriving).
"INSOLENT BOY, THIS SLAVE OF FASHION"
The fact that Erik was like "I'll show Christine the mannequin I have of her in a wedding dress. That'll go great!"
And then she passes out and he leaves her on the floor. 😭 (He does put his cloak over her though).
Is Erik that invested in his opera (Jon did have some very excited scribbling) that he didn't notice Christine wake up or was he just like "oop, she's waking up. Act natural, Erik. You are cool and mysterious. ACT NATURAL."
Jon half crawling half dragging himself across the stage during Stranger Than You Dreamt It (sir, how can you still sing like that???)
The whole Poor Fool sequence was very funny to watch and the cast nailed it!
Raoul being an adorable dork during All I Ask of You. 🥰 Matt Blaker is great.
The Phantom's reprise of All I Ask of You being one of my favourite vocal moments in the entire show! 🔥
Monsieur André's incredible sparkly skeleton get-up.
Carlotta's batwing dress!
Erik being the dramatic bitch he is and vanishing just to appear the top of the stairs again. Do you think he rehearsed that bit in his little sewer lair?
That sparky skull cane thing that Erik is waving around in the graveyard. 💀
Page Blankson is an absolute joy to watch as Christine.
Piangi drawing his coat around himself when The Phantom says he needs to lose weight and then him doing the same thing when Madame Giry asks Carlotta if they can be sure he's not watching rehearsals. Nice little detail.
The fact that in The Point of No Return The Phantom looks like the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come from The Muppets Christmas Carol.
Me watching Raoul jumping into the lake and thinking "that's a big drop from the stairs to the stage" only to watch him disappear below the stage.
Erik's organ slam because he has to be a drama queen.
Erik being like "if only I wasn't so ugly, then you would love me" and Christine pointing out that his face is not exactly the problem in this entire situation.
Jon's, Matt's and Paige's vocals!!!
Jon's delivery of "make your choice" coming across as a little broken and scared is *chef's kiss*.
*Christine kisses Erik* Erik.exe has stopped working
Jon's delivery of "LEAVE MEEEEE!"
The little Masquerade reprise that makes me cry. Every. Single. Time. 😭 (It's the hand over the monkey's face. I can't do it 🥲).
"Christine... I love you" *cries harder*
"IT'S OVER NOW THE MUSIC OF THE NIGHT"
Erik disappearing from the chair because he needs a final Dramatic Bitch™️ moment.

A New Commanding Officer
Once done with breakfast, Alana stood in front of her mirror and inspected her outfit. Cindy and Mike just smile at her from the door. “Are you ready, love?”
Alana turns and salutes them. “Yes ma’am.”
Viper chuckles and corrects her form. “Nice job officer.” He picks her up and carries her to the car. “So you’re going to be helping Lieutenant Commander Simpson.”
“Uncle Beau!” Alana cheers. “Papaw? Can I tell the students they don’t know how to fly?”
Viper cracks up. “Princess these are the best aviators in the Navy.”
Alana makes a face but says nothing in response. “If you says so.”
Soon they arrived and Viper led tiny Alana to Beau’s office. “Remember princess: behave. You’re 4. Not a Navy Commander.”
“One day I will be,” she says knocking on Beau’s office door and walking in.
"There's my assistant for the day," Beau says picking her up and hugging her.
“I got my pen ready and I have my snacks too!”
Beau chuckles and sets Alana down and walks hand in hand with her to his first class. The students immediately stand and salute him. “At ease,” Alana tells them.
From the back of the classroom, Robyn sees them and raises a brow at Beau. Oh today was going to be fun she just knew it. She knew he loved Alana like if she was his own. She also knew Alana was a sassy tiny thing, which she got from Viper and her mother.
The class proceeded as normal. Alana made her version of a seating chart and would give students a happy or sad face of how well they were listening to Beau and Jester.
“Go get ready for a hop you all have,” Beau says dismissing the students.
Beau heads to the communications room with Alana. The girl gasps when she sees Robyn saved her a seat. “Auntie Venom!”
“Hi love,” Beau says coming to peck his wife quickly. “She was excited to see you.”
What the students didn’t expect was that they would be served humble pie.
“He bwoke the hard deck. No points.”
“Idiot. Too close!”
“He almost crashed papaw! Stoopid jerk.”
“Why do they think they are best?”
After the hop, the students come back to the classroom. Once the students are seated, Beau stands at the front of their class, and Alana takes her chance to stand on his desk. “You all suck. Tewwible pilots and wingmen. Only good was Robert and Taylor.”
Alana continues before Beau can reach her. Looking down at her scribbles and her seating chart she points to every student and tells them what they did wrong. Beau has no time to react before the students are shouting that a four-year-old knows nothing.
Boomer: “Who the hell does she think she is?”
Alpha: “She probably still wets the bed! Who the fuck said she could even be here?”
Dublin: “She kinda does have a point. We all can improve one way or another.”
Salem: “You can’t even read the alphabets.”
Costa: “Kid probably still has training wheels on her bike and is telling us how to fly a fighter jet…”
Facing the students, Alana stands with her hands fisted at her tiny hips. “Change number AFC 029 is used to install MLG dual chamber shock absorber. ATARS stands for advanced tactical air reconnaissance system.” Alana proceeds to give the students the exact aircraft dimensions and gross weight for a F/A-18A/C Hornet. “You fly like you have training wheels on your landing gear. And it’s alphaBET, not alphaBETS Salem… Maybe your brain is wrong because your ancestors burned witches.”
Venom is trying so hard to keep a straight face and goes to carry her back to her shared office with Whiskey and Dragon.
Viper sighs in defeat as the two Admirals, who were in the class, chuckle. “So Viper, how's it going raising a kid again?” Pharaoh asks him.
“Actually, can we hire her?” Edison adds
Beau recovers and manages to calm the students down. “That’s enough!”
Meanwhile, Venom is recounting every word of what Alana said to Dragon and Whiskey. All three women crack up when Alana looks up at them innocently and says, with a yawn, “They haf to prove they best of the best.”
Alana cuddles into Whiskey’s lap and closes her eyes for a nap. “Awww!”
“You’re not keeping her Whiskey,” Dragon tells her friend before she can finish her sentence.
After a couple of hours, Viper comes to pick up Alana. The young girl is still asleep on Whiskey. She whines when Viper tries to wake her. “Cinco minutes more,” she sleepily mumbles.
Viper chuckles and has Whiskey carry Alana to the car. “Thank you, Jade.”
“Mike, you know it’s always a pleasure to spend time with this tiny commander. Soon she’ll be our boss.”
Viper chuckles. “Oh, she’ll be a handful alright.”
“Means she’ll be strong and levelheaded. Our little aviator.”
When Mike arrives home with Alana, she's awake now and chatting excitedly about how much she had teaching with Beau. Her ire at the students flying was lessening. Mike decided not to reprimand her for calling the students stupid. Sometimes they needed to hear it.
He smiled after her as she walked inside the house and she was telling Cindy about her day. "Oh, baby. She'll be a commander alright."

Robyn blinks three times in rapid succession, a twist of horrified astonishment scribbling over his face as though he strongly believes that by all appearances this is a terrible set-up for a kingdom, but knows not how to express or fix any of that at the green age of five.
Revenge - Better the Devil You Know (than the one you don’t)
The owner, a pompous woman in her late thirties, sought revenge on an adulterous husband - bit overkill to hire a demon for the job if you ask Hob, but really who is he to judge?

RWBY ReWatch Volume 7: PENNY!!! :D
Okay, so what do I remember from this Volume? PENNY!! She’s back. The Ace Ops were introduced here, Clover dies a stupid death, Robyn is here, Ironwood starts off crazy, calms down, and then completely loses his shit by then end.
Yeah, that’s about it. Broad strokes, but the finer details elude me. So let’s get started.
Oh, this was the volume they changed Qrow’s VA, ahklhdhka. It’s so noticeable.
This is the first Volume since 4 that the captions have functioned as they should.
They have such a large, colorful, conspicuous group now alkdhkjhfaksh.
qrow didn’t even need to punch those tigers but he did that for me
Oscar’s weapon is so funny, he is quite literally just aggressively poking things to death.
I’m that guy from ATLA that foams at the mouth and passes out, but for everytime Penny shows up.
Mmm, Clover’s introduction has him picking up the very weapon used to kill him later on. Nice touch.
Unlike the last two Volumes, I vividly remember the OP for this one. Mostly because I have the damn song on my phone, because I immediately fell in love with it. But also because that one image of Penny smiling that’s in the OP, because I love her.
Ironwood actually laughs a little bit when Ruby admits to stealing the airship.
Damn, I know Ironwood kinda falls off his rocker later, but RWBY and co., reaaaalllly made it worse. Like, he made a real, genuine effort to assuage their worries and make himself trustworthy. Opened himself up completely to them.If they were as upfront with Ironwood in the beginning as he was with them, maybe he wouldn’t have reacted so poorly.
Oh no, I forgot about Qrow and Ironwood’s hug. :c That just makes it sadder that Qrow wants to kill Ironwood later..
I smile every time I see Tyrian, I can’t help it.
I don’t think I had noticed before that Yang gets an actual gauntlet for her robot arm now, instead of using just built in guns.
We still don’t get to see Nora’s landing strategy.
Sorry, but you can’t make a fishing pole a cool weapon. It’s just not happening.
I noticed this volume has actual wording on a lot of the screens that can be read instead of indiscernible scribbles. Case in point: one of the earlier monitors mention a toilet being “decimated”.
Marrow is so funny, oh my god.
The second Jacques can’t get anywhere with threats he moves straight into emotional manipulation. Fucker.
Jaune being popular with the moms is too cute.
I’m so happy FNKI got a little cameo this season, I love them so much.
Robyn was really about to throw away her chance at winning the election over a single truck of supplies.
Oh damn. Winter was looking forward to being the Winter Maiden. She considered it as part of her destiny and it was a decision she was making her own. And then it was ripped out from under her. That’s gotta sting like hell.
Oh, right. Nora and Ren start having relationship issues this volume. Poor Ruby just wanted to go to a fun party with friends.
We get a bunch of cute Penny moments to placate us before we move into Sad Penny days.
It’s actually SO GOOD to see Nora put her foot down for something serious.
Ironwood saying that Salem’s lack of humanity is her greatest advantage actually makes his turn to outright villain make a little more sense. He’s out to win now, and if losing his humanity and restraint is what helps that, then so be it.
Oh, Klein was fired. Shame, he was a sweet character. Jacques couldn’t hire anyone else? Just gonna have his son act as the butler? Okay.
Watts and Ironwood fighting in a gravity arena is such a fun stage for their battle.
Pffft, Watts falls after shoving Ironwood’s arm into the hard light shield, but Ironwood didn’t do anything to him. So really, Watts just threw himself to the ground to be dramatic.
Tyrian is SO fun to watch when he’s fighting, he’s like a little tornado of knives and poison.
Damn, Qrow, Clover, and Robyn had Tyrian completely overwhelmed in that fight. That seems to be the way to beat him seeing as he’s usually the one overwhelming his opponents. If Clover and Qrow had focused on Tyrian after the crash they could’ve easily subdued him again.
Every scene with Salem is so well done. It’s always so ominous and chilling, she constantly feels like nothing but a threat.
If Clover dying is what it takes for me to get that amazing scene with Qrow and Tyrian fighting together, than so be it. Sacrifices must be made. U.U
Also, I never commented on what Tyrian’s doing when his hands are glowing with what I assume is his aura. He did that once before when he attacked Fiona and he cut straight through her aura. Then he does it again when fighting Clover. His eyes are purple, so it’s a subset of his poisoning, perhaps.
It’s kind of hard to see, but it looks like he retracts the blades on his wrists when he does it too. Huh...
Okay, I went back to watch A Night Off, and when Tyrian attacks Fiona one hand is purple and he uses that to tear straight through her aura and then uses the blade on his other hand, the one that’s not purple, to slice her. So Tyrian has the ability to just slice through someone’s aura temporarily. The poisoning must be just an aspect of his Faunus traits, and tearing through aura is his semblance.
oh no the whaaaaale
I didn’t really have a lot to say this Volume that I didn’t say during my first watch. As a whole it’s very well done, posing interesting questions and choices for all the characters and an overall consistent theme.
I will say that, having to constantly pause the show every minute to make commentary or screenshots, warps the pacing of the episodes in a certain way that can skew my first impression vs someone who just watches the episode normally. But I still really enjoy doing it this way, so that’s not going to stop me.
A quickie for the first 5 episodes of Volume 8:
I can’t believe i forgot about the fucking HOUND
So thinking about it now, I never really believed Emerald when she said that Cinder was her family because I don’t think Cinder has said one nice thing to Emerald the entire show. Beyond a generic “good job” or something like it. Like, Cinder has very clearly treated Emerald the same way she treats most everyone-- putting them at a distance, no affection or genuine attention. But Emerald acts like Cinder would be affectionate to her. She gets excited when she sees her and at one point it even looked like she was going in for a hug. I wonder if Cinder’s behavior towards Emerald is a new thing? Like Cinder was kind and affectionate (as much as Cinder is capable, anyway) to her before, but has recently needed to put on airs and treat Emerald different now? Maybe? I dunno. I don’t really see it, but it’s the only thing I can think of making sense. Cause I dunno why Emerald would keep acting like this towards Cinder if Cinder has always treated her so indifferently.
Annnnndddd, that’s it!
