You and Vance waded in together, feeling the chill, refreshing water wash over the both of you. You couldn't stop giggling and goofing around, soaking up the gorgeous scenery and peaceful vibes.
"hey Vance, wanna try something?" You asked. "If it's trying to hold you so you can try and flip while underwater, no," Vance muttered. You laughed. "No, it's not that. Hear me out. what about Kissing underwater? Wouldn't that be cool?" So, you threw out an idea and Vance kinda thought about it. Then he was like, "Yeah, I guess we could give it a shot." And out of nowhere, you just went ahead and splashed him with water.
He looked totally surprised and then grinned before splashing you back. That set off a fun little water fight between the both of you, as you both tried to one-up each other.
As you descended into the water, Vance followed closely behind. Despite your blurry vision, you couldn't help but smile at him. Vance swam closer, and you pulled him in for a tender kiss. He reciprocated, and you felt your heart swell with affection.

You sighed as you picked your stuff up again. While you were walking to class, some girls came over and made fun of you. After that, some boys came and shoved you around making you drop all your stuff. All you wanted to do was go through the day without getting hurt. Was that so hard?
As you got into class, you sat in the seat next to your boyfriend, Vance Hopper. Your relationship with him was secret, since you didn’t really feel like letting everybody know you’re dating somebody.
It’s none of their business anyway.
As you’re putting your stuff down and getting out what you need, Vance leans over to you.
“Why the hell were you so late? You’re usually here before me.” He whispered. “I Uhm dropped my stuff.” You lied. You didn’t need anymore trouble bout telling him what’s going on.
He just eyed you up and down before looking back to the teacher.
You sighed.
‘I hope they leave me alone..I’m not in the mood today and they should already be bored of me.’ you thought.

They didn’t leave. And instead decided to hurt you physically if they couldn’t mentally. They pushed you to the ground and kicked at you. You felt tears in your eyes so you looked down, not wanting them to see. But it was too late.
“Look at her, she’s crying. Crybaby.” They laughed and mocked you. They left soon after since they got bored of you.
You got up, dusted your self off then went back to your journey of seeing Vance. Now, your jeans had a rip, your knee was cut, your cheek was turning purple, your eyes were puffy and red from crying and worst of all, you cried infront of them. Now they would have something to keep reminding you.
As you made it the Grab n go, Vance smiled to see you but it went away when he saw you all pouty and messed up. “Gorgeous, what the fuck happened to you? And who did it?” He asked but you didn’t say anything and just hugged him, sobbing into his shoulder.
He let you and wrapped his arms around your waist. He didn’t give a fuck who was watching, he was going to hug you and comfort you.
After a little while, you calmed down, and Vance asked again. “Listen to me babe okay? If you just tell me, I promise I’ll make everything be better, alright?” You nodded and he sighed.
“So what the hell happened? And who the fuck did it? Cmon, tell me. It’s alright.” Vance asked once more, holding your hand gently. You sighed and decided it’s the right time to tell him.
“Well, I was uh walking here to see you when. These three boys came to me. They..made fun of me than…than they shoved me. And kicked me alot….they made fun of my crying until they were bored.” You told Vance truthfully and you saw him get more upset.
“Why would they want to do that to you? I won’t let it happen again. If you would’ve told me this sooner, I could’ve been able to get rid of..the problem.” Vance sighed and just held you close.

You all be hanging out with greasers and stuff but when I date one, it’s a total headache for you all! That ain’t fair!” You argued with your oldest brother.

Almost everytime you and Dally went out for one of y’alls midnight adventures, somebody from the gang was always tailing the both of ya! But the most annoying out of them all was Two-Bit.
He wasn’t even discreet or sneaky about it! He just came up and wrapped his arms around both of you whenever it was his time to spy on y’all. (More like third wheel.)
On the fourth day, Dallas did something bad. He shoplifted. A beautiful necklace just for you. You loved it and thought it was the most stunning jewelry ever but you knew Darry would instantly make you break up if he saw it.
So you hid it. In your bra drawer. And it was successful! Darry never found out about it. So Dally kept shoplifting and bring your more beautiful jewelry. And you’d give him the sweetest kiss ever as a thank you to him.
Fortunately, the gang never saw him do this but if they did, they kept quiet about it.
But then on the fifth, almost close to the end of the week, Pony told on you again. You got upset and you kept asking why he would do this to his sweet older sister.
He told you it was because he wanted you to be safe and not get into trouble because you’re his sister and you’re the best thing ever(even though you were mad at him, his reason was cute enough to cool down your anger). He told Soda, who told Darry, who told you to come to the living room, with Dallas.
“Shoplifting jewelry? Then puttin’ it on her? She could go to jail for Christ’s sake Dally! And she’s a good girl.” Darry scolds Dallas.
“Darry, please, he was just tryna show me he’s a good boyfriend! Darry, please, pretty please, let me stay with him! I…I love him!” You pleaded, clasping your hands together in a beggar way.
Darry looked at you then looked away. He knew what you were doing. You we’re using the puppy dog eyes on him. He hated the fact you could get whatever your heart desired. And it desired Dallas.
He sighed, upset as he pinched the bridge of his nose. “Y/N…” He began. “Yes!” You perked up, looking up at him. “If I let you continue to date Dallas, do you promise me you won’t get in trouble with the police, you won’t get pregnant, you won’t do anything dangerous that could possibly kill you or somebody else?”
You nodded eagerly. “Yes, yes, yes! I promise! Oh, thank you Darry!” You smiled and hugged him tightly. He sighed and smiled, hugging you back and patting your head.
Dallas just grinned at the scene and started to leave before you turned to him. “Wait Dally! I’ll be with ya in a second.” You said, letting go of your brother and putting back your sneakers on.
“Don’t teach her how to do anything illegal Dally!” He yelled out after the both of you.
“Too late Darry!” Dallas laughed and so did you.
That’s when you saw Darry come out of the house with his shoes on. He was coming after the both of you. Well more specifically, Dally.

You and Dallas would go to areas together at night and makeout, just chill or he would hold you in his arms for as long as he could before you had to go home due to your curfew.
One night, while you were reading since you couldn’t sleep, Dallas came inside, into your room by opening the window and climbing in. Well, more like stumbling in.

You thought it was kind of cute. “Alright Dally. Cmon, let’s go through the front, nobody’s up anyway.” You smiled. You got up, put your sneakers on and left your room, walking to the front door with Dallas following behind. You kept shushing him and laughing as quietly as the both of you could. But what you didn’t know, was that you had woken somebody up.
Ponyboy couldn’t stand the laughing of you, he thought it was too late for you to be up until he heard another laugh. A male laugh.
Ponyboy quietly took Soda off of him and got up from his bed. He crept the door open and saw both you and Dallas, shoving and pushing eachother while laughing.
He thought it was a both weird that he was here.
That was, until, he saw you give Dallas a kiss on the lips. And he saw Dallas kiss you back.
Pony put two and two together to figure out that you and Dallas must’ve be dating. So Pony crept back into silently.

Your heart raced as you nodded and put on a long-sleeved shirt, slipping your sneakers on. You hopped out of your window, Vance helping you out. The both of you walked the streets of your town, the silence only broken by the sound of your footsteps echoing through the empty streets.
As you strolled through the city, you couldn't help but notice how the fairy lights illuminated the streets, making it look like a wonderland. Vance seemed lost in thought, his eyes fixed on the fairy lights decorating your town's lights and fences.
"Y'know Vance, your hair looks really pretty under the lights," you said, unable to resist the urge to compliment him.
His face started turning red as he walked. "I was just thinking the same thing about you," he replied, his voice barely above a whisper so you couldn't hear him. But you did anyway.
You felt your cheeks flush as you looked away, feeling a sudden rush of warmth in your chest. As if by magic, an ice cream truck appeared - the only one still operating for some unknown reason. The soft music from the truck filled the air, and the twinkling lights illuminated the night sky.
As soon as you reached out and grasped Vance's hand, the two of you broke into a run, your feet pounding the pavement as you made a beeline for the truck. Vance quickly caught on to what was happening, and he chuckled with amusement as he followed your lead. You couldn't help but laugh along with him, feeling a sense of joy and exhilaration as you both sprinted toward your destination. The moment felt precious and unforgettable, and you savored every second of it.
As you approached the truck, the driver kindly offered free ice cream to both of you, which you both gladly accepted. You and Vance are still holding hands as you run off, not quite sure where you're headed, but determined not to drop your frozen treats.

Both of you are seated in front of his house, with you leaning on his shoulder while Vance gazes ahead. Suddenly, he calls your attention. "(N/N)," he says. "Yes?" you respond. He then requests, "Could you look at me for a moment?" You comply, tilting your head up to meet his gaze. He looks at you for a few seconds. Then, without warning, he leans in and plants a kiss on your lips.
A gentle smile spread across your face as you returned his kiss.
"Quite the romance, huh?"
"Oh shut up (Y/N)."
You giggled and held his hand. He held it back.

It’s been atleast five days since Vance and Bruce hanged out together. Bruce was always walking away, saying he had already made plans to hang out with Finney, Robin, Billy, Griffin or Gwenny.
It was getting so fucking annoying for Vance. At first he thought it was annoying that they kept taking up all the time he could get with Bruce. But then he started to think, which was something he usually didn’t do.
He ended up overthinking. He thought that Bruce just didn't like him as much as he did before and that sooner or later, Bruce would break up with him.
This made Vance upset. And maybe just tear up a little.

Bruce was happy he could help plan a surprise birthday party for his boyfriend but he just couldn't stand not seeing him more.
It makes him feel bad inside seeing Vance’s face when he says he’s going to ‘hang out" with the others instead of his boyfriend. Bruce has even thought of telling Vance about the surprise party.
"NO Yamada! It's called a SURPRISE party for a reason, idiot!" Gwen said. "Please! I can't stand seeing Vance upset at me!" Bruce pleaded. "I know that Bruce! But just keep quiet, for just a little longer. Okay?" Gwen said. Bruce reluctantly agreed, but he couldn't shake the guilt he felt about hurting Vance's feelings.
Over the next few days, Vance slowly started to stop asking Bruce to come over and watch him play pinball and other things. And Bruce cannot take it anymore.
He hated this.

Vance was playing pinball, trying to beat his high score when Bruce came to him. "Hey, Vance, come over to my house today. I gotta tell you something." Bruce whispered to him. Vance just nodded and followed Bruce to his place.
When they made it, Vance started speaking. "Look, I know I'm not the best at these kinds of things but you just have to give me another chance." Vance whimpered and tears started falling down his face slowly. "What? Vance, I'm not breaking up with yo-" Bruce was saying before he got interrupted.
"SURPRISE?" Everyone yelled out but they kept quiet when they saw what was happening. "What?" Vance mumbled, clearly confused. "I came here to tell you that the only reason I haven't been around you was that...I was helping plan this party. for your birthday." Bruce admitted and Vance immediately got embarrassed and turned red.
“Oh.” Was all Vance said before he looked at everyone else and just went to eat the cake.
“Thanks.” Vance muttered. Finney thought it was akward but Robin just thought the party needed music.
So Robin put on Vance’s favorite artist and the party resumed.
Everybody was caught up in their own thing so Bruce went up to Vance. “Vance, bae, I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to-“ SPLAT. The cake went onto Bruce’s face. Vance laughed at the sight until Cake went onto his face. They just laughed at each other.
Robin saw this and immediately took it upon himself to take a photo of them. So he did. Secretly, When the both of them weren't looking.
Robin then wrote on the Polaroid picture "8/10/79. Surprise."
