We interrupt your regularly scheduled Art Fight posting to bring you the latest in Rhys-Yor technology: Fluff!
Words: 2,314. Chapters: 1/1. Rating: General Audiences.
Summary: While watching the camp alone by the fire one night, Yor is unexpectedly joined by the newest member of their group: Rhys. When the two of them get to talking about magic, they both end up learning more about the other than they had ever thought.

The night was peaceful, but far from silent. As Yor sat by himself in front of the crackling fire, he let the music of the night wash over him. The frogs traded verses back and forth with the crickets, a calming melody interspaced with pops from the dancing flames and the airy hoot of an owl. Above the rustling of the leaves in the trees, the scrape of his knife against the grain of the wood in his hand was barely audible, but it was still a good rhythm to match his breathing against.
Filling his lungs with woody smoke and crisp air, Yor reveled in his solitude, glad that he had convinced Mellatiel to trust him with their watch. She had looked so tired – her movements so sluggish – that Yor knew she wouldn’t make it until Y’anae and Chima came to relieve them. This way was better; Melly could sleep and Yor could enjoy his solitude without the feeling of crushing guilt and haunting memories.
Just as he began to carve the horn of the owl taking shape in his palm, Yor caught a new sound in the air: the swish of a tent flap fluttering closed. Quiet footsteps slowly made their way closer, until Rhys sat down next to him with a nearly silent sigh.
Well, this was strange.

6. Who will they take advice from, no matter what it is? Who won’t they take advice from, no matter what it is?
No matter what, Rhys will always listen to Chima. He holds a deep, deep respect for her, and knows that even if they butt heads, he trusts her opinion. She usually knows what's best for everyone and is almost always right.
On the other hand, Rhys automatically disregards any advice from Y'anae. Even if what she's saying is really solid, he doesn't trust her not to pull a prank on him.

🐷: Rhys' favorite animal is a tiger!
🔱: Rhys can swim if push came to shove, but not super well. He hates swimming though, like a grumpy cat lol
🎂: This is a very fitting question! His birthday/nameday is today! In-universe he's 329 years old, but I've had him for 3 years now. That means his star sign is Libra, and his tarot card is The Moon. He definitely isn't your typical Libra, he's much too hot-headed and confrontational!
🥯: Rhys isn't super picky about breakfast foods. On the road he normally will eat the leftovers from the night before or sausage with dried fruit. If he's in town, he'll go for a buttery pastry. However, he absolutely HATES eggs (he's had bad experiences).

🐷 : Rhys' favorite animal is a tiger! He just thinks they're neat.
💔: Top three worst traits? He's short-tempered, guarded, and aggressive. All and all, he's a real bastard (but we love him anyway!)
🍝: Rhys has an incredible sweet-tooth and his favorite food is honey cakes!
☕: His favorite drink is probably wine. As for non alcoholic, he's doesn't have a big preference (through sometimes he enjoys fresh juice)
😊: Personal freedom was the most important thing for Rhys, and he would do everything thing in his power to protect that. But after meeting Chima and the gang, his goals start to shift. He cares more for other people and taking care of those he loves. Once L'morhi comes into the picture, Rhys' number one goal becomes being the good dad that he never had.

I can't believe I missed the one year anniversary of my fic series!
When I started writing about Rhys and Yor a year ago, I had no idea where it would go. What started as a one-off about their first date has grown to an 11 fic and counting series that touches on multiple different times in their relationship. I am so proud of this series and I can't believe how much I have grown as a writer. Working on these stories has helped me grow closer to some dear friends and even helped me make some new ones!
From the bottom of my heart, thank you to everyone who has taken the time to read about these dear, dumb, emotionally repressed assholes!
I'm not done writing the, yet and I can't wait to see where this journey takes me 😋
