Listening to neofolk really makes me wish warriors was a well written horror series about cats and religious beliefs, murder and mysteries that have you fearing for these cats lives, that has you guessing along with the POV on who you can trust and who's out to silence them.
Would love endlessly for these cats to live in delusion of their "gods" and "ancestors" being these almost all powerful beings in death, when in reality they don't exist.
And each leader goes to get their nine lives have to realise it's all a lie and if they want to stay in power they'll have to lie through their teeth to their clans, they'll have to sacrifice cats left and right to keep themselves from being hurt and exposing that they never got extra lives.
Because the cats wouldn't think "oh starclan isn't real" because of their ingrained beliefs, their first thought would be "starclan rejected your leadership, out with you."
I want starclan to be fake but the dark forest real, the good hot to rest forevermore but the bad live on to suffer for eternity.
You're own hatred or spite is what keeps you suffering, which is why cats who truly feel like they're not in the wrong (for example Ashfur) joins "Starclan" and get to rest even though they were awful in life.
Murder plots and possessions done in a way that actually makes you think or suspect the wrong person.
Struggles of strangers joining and either conforming to the clan's beliefs or questioning every turn, if they ask the wrong questions they disappear.
If they ask the right questions to the right cats, could they make the clans see? Could they make them question their own lives? Would it make life better or would it lead to death?
I want the clans to be the cults that they are, but more!

do you have any thoughts on the story of abraham and isaac? my parents talk about it and praise abraham for being willing to kill his son which..... scares me to say the least, and i'd love to hear your perspective as someone who seems more well-adjusted
Where I am now, it disgusts me more than anything. The interpretation of "I'm willing to sacrifice your life if I was told to" feels like the step before "I put you into this world and I can take you out of it." It's entitlement to a child, who is an independent individual, just because they are dependent on you for survival. I prefer the interpretation of understanding the actions you're taking and the reasons why (like how there's multiple religions that don't eat pork because it was so unsafe to eat at the time), especially if it's at someone else's expense.
Where I was in the thick of it all, it gave me morbid comfort that scares me now. I had fantasies of being a martyr for the church and the idea of being the next Isaac was just so appealing. Being a hand-selected sacrifice chosen by the Good Lord Himself? Sign me the fuck up, babey!
I think if I admitted that to my family, they'd be horrified.
It's another one of those stories or beliefs where I think the majority of christians just regurgitate what they've heard. It's a point of pride and devotion, but there's no personal reflection or cross-cultural awareness of it. Lean not unto your own understanding and whatnot. It's the potential that scares me the most, like the Quiverfull movement with the Duggars or Turpins. I'm sure there's stories now, but I can't remember them off the top of my head
(Also I will be telling my therapist someone on Tumblr called me "more well-adjusted" thank you anon)

I wanna see a cooking competition show where all the judges have different dietary restrictions and professional chefs have to make a meal that all of them can eat.
I wanna see someone with allergies look a chef dead in the eye and tell them they're disqualified cause they didn't check that the pecans were manufactured somewhere with no peanut cross contamination.

Were you personally victimized by the JOY model in church? Did your youth pastor shame you for having basic needs? Do you compulsively feel the need to give the food from your plate, the clothes off your back, and the air from your lungs just to justify your existence? Well do I have the model for you!
Introducing: The "Y, Tho" Model
This model stands for:
Y - Yourself: You should put yourself first
T - The Bit: Always commit to the bit
H - Homies: Gotta kiss the homies goodnight
O - Others: You can worry about others when you have your shit together
Remember this model when you can't remember your priorities in life! Now get out there and change the world!

the thing I really, really just don't understand about people opposed to drag queen story hours at local libraries is.... if you're really just opposed to your child being exposed to that..... don't go? like you literally cannot have any other argument against it other than "I am repulsed by the very existence of queer ppl" because you are not forced to participate! don't want a drag queen to read to your kid? Congrats! you can stay home that day! or go anywhere else in town where there aren't drag queens reading aloud
