Halloween time, a time for tricks and treats. Regina was used to big parties as a queen she's hosted a few herself.......but not of this holiday. Normally it would have been a masquerade ball with fine music and ballroom dancing but she watches as people bob for apples and Samuel popping up on guests to make them jump in fear. Oh well, at least Keres was here so she wasn't completely by herself. They even look quite fetching in that dress.

Ignore Samuel he just does his own thing but Keres is glad to see Regina, hoping a change in party styles is fun for her! Just ignore how distracted they are.

fix-it fic for me is literally just either "holy shit canon really glorified this guy's horrible behavior so I've gotta give their love interest/friends a better ending" (i.e. glee, ofmd, etc.) or it's "i can feel the author's unintentional prejudices/hang-ups/etc. digging their fingernails all over the writing of this character that had so much potential so I've gotta wrest them away and fix some shit" (i.e. doctor who, avengers, once upon a time, the magicians, supernatural, narnia, etc.)

it is so crazy to me how anyone who is remotely a public figure has to choose their words so absurdly carefully in order to condemn the ongoing genocide of palestinians and still lose out on job opportunities and face mass harassment but pro-israel celebrities are just openly like 'genocide is awesome and palestinians are subhuman rapists' and they face no consequences from it

#folks online might have been mad at like amy schumer or regina spektor or noah schnapp but they will never lose anything material from this #compared to the absurd number of. say. journalists who have been fired for not dehumanizing palestinians essentially #or even look at the hadids who are incredibly famous and beloved and how carefully they have had to tiptoe around things to still lose out-#on job opportunities and have their numbers leaked by their friends

Emma and El being completely desperate because Regina and Max are in danger and then absorbing the most powerful darkness of all/fighting a powerful monster to save them is something so personal to me

also their lines; "you've worked too hard to have your happiness destroyed" Emma to Regina - and then proceeds to take the darkness to save her (relying on hope that her parents will find a way to help her to get rid of the darkness), and "if you touch her again, I will kill you, again" El to Vecna (about Max) right before getting into a fight with him even tho she knew her chances of winning were low

and both, Max and Regina, could only watch, without really being able to do anything about it because they knew there was no way to talk Emma/El out of it and that they couldn't really fight that fight.

also Regina and Max accepting their fate and being saved by their best friends because Emma and El refuse to lose them

Anyway, I'm sorry for keeping bringing swanqueen and elmax in posts like this, I know swens don't care about elmax and vice versa but I can't help but see so many similarities between them.

I think to me this is the equivalent of that supergirl ship that I don't ship but that it was always compared to swanqueen.
