Oceanside tones are definitely the ones I'm most comfortable working with. I've been trying to put together some work with my ceramic beads in red glaze that I made recently and my brain truly wobbles throughout the process. Give me blues, turquoise, greens, jades and a splash of pink perhaps or yellow and I can just flow. Here's a new listing using the ceramic pottery beads I made with beautiful green, blue, brown and yellow glazes. I love the feather/heart and daisy design of this one from the vintage lucite pendant I found and created a mold of. I've also created a stack to go with the pendant above with a double terminated raw smoky quartz point, two raw aquamarine slices and an organic designed pottery bead with sweet circle imprinted sides. The necklace also contains reclaimed goodies with an Indian silver chain section with tiny heart motifs and a mother of pearl chain I repurposed. More new listings coming up. Sunday midmorning smithy smashery. I keep making these little spiral charms and chain pieces. Perhaps the will become a larger piece. Copper wire with salvaged glass beads. The brass bangle is a rough test. No annealing, no mandrel, got to just keep hammering at it and bending it into shape. It gets tougher as it work hardens... requires an interesting balance of delicate attention and brute force. If I get it looking nice, it'll be invested with a powerful persistence and perhaps someone will wear it. I wish to make gifts, soon. This is a sculptural piece I created last fall which I called “Urban Shamanic Revival”. It’s made out of 13 broken skateboard noses that where used as pallets to paint previous paintings. I also used crushed spray cans that served as pallets as well. To that structure I also stuck some old dreadlocks of mine, a painted 45 record, crystals, patches, pins and feathers. This charged piece. It now hangs by my bed and guards my sleep. It’s a reminder of my tribal jungle aspect, which is currently on pause. I still need to find a new situation to continue my shamanic self-work, but I’m not rushing in. For now I’m just integrating the previous work done and trying to live from that Love center the medicine always teaches me. Finally finished my live edge Sycamore crotch slab table. Even the pedestal ( legs) are made from 100 year old reclaimed Sycamore barn wood. This has been quite the project and way outside my normal comfort zone. Let know what you think!

Second hand first. If I could find all the precious and semi-precious stones I'd like to use in my work from flea markets, antique shops and car boot sales, that would be magical. It would mean much less mining and damage to the environment, and lost, broken and forgotten treasures would be appreciated once more. I'm a sucker for rocks though and it's an addiction I have to work on. One day....one day. This pretty large labradorite stone was part of a broken necklace that had a weird aesthetic that didn't fit my own. I took it apart and could see its less attractive parts had been hidden by OTT wire wrapping. It's not perfectly polished, has seen a bit of action but it is still beautiful. I mean LOOK at those flashes, it's like the eye of a peacock feather. I've given it an honest treatment with a gothic vampiric vibe using decorative sterling silver gallery wire to create an open back frame.
