Second hand first. If I could find all the precious and semi-precious stones I'd like to use in my work from flea markets, antique shops and car boot sales, that would be magical. It would mean much less mining and damage to the environment, and lost, broken and forgotten treasures would be appreciated once more. This pretty large labradorite stone was part of a broken necklace that had a weird aesthetic that didn't fit my own. I took it apart and could see its less attractive parts had been hidden by OTT wire wrapping. It's not perfectly polished, has seen a bit of action but it is still beautiful. I mean LOOK at those flashes, it's like the eye of a peacock feather. I've given it an honest treatment with a gothic vampiric vibe using decorative sterling silver gallery wire to create an open back frame.
