This boy is finally completed! All made from scratch and with faux fur! Its been a childhood dream to have a life sized wolf plush and now I gathered the energy to do this! This was also a test how to work with those materials since I want to work on masks in the future!

Its been a fun process and very very time consuming! Everything is sewn by hand, so I've easily spend over 90 hours with pure sewing The claws are resin casts from a real wolf claw too! The head is a foam base so its all soft and squishy and the nose is made from silicone.

I already have a lot of things I would want to improve but I tried to be kind to myself, since its a completely new thing and I allow myself to mess up and improve next time ! He is also very large, I think its not clear how big he is !

from nose to butt, its 155cm (~5ft) and 195cm (6'4ft) from nose to tail.

5 WAYS TO HELP WITH SPECIES DYSPHORIA AS A THERIAN (with and without gear)

- please note that most of these are focused mainly on being a wolf therian, but i'll try my best to make it more inclusive to others.

1 •

my personal favorite, wolf quest! this one does cost money, so this isn't for those who don't have the money/don't already have the game. it really helps me feel more connected to who i am. you find a mate, raise pups, hunt prey, defend your den and pack from predators, and there's even a multiplayer option for you to play with your friends. :o)

(and yes, you can customize what your wolf looks like. all NPC wolves in the game have different personalities for immersion, including you, your pups, and your mate)

please note that the game is still in development! they plan to add a saga where you can live constantly with your pack and continue with new generations each year (and no, you don't HAVE to pass away). you can toggle whether your mate dies or not, if you play on easy you can avoid your pups getting sick by reloading saves if you're sensitive to that, there are constantly new updates being brought out that make the game feel more realistic each time and the development team are incredibly sweet. if you have the money i highly recommend this game, wolf therian or otherwise.

2 •

documentaries. a wonderful way to not only feel more connected to your theriotype(s), but to also learn more information about them! my favorite thing to do when i'm stressed is to wrap myself in warm blankets, turn off my lights and put on a documentary to calm myself down. bonus points if you DO have gear to wear during this, if not that's okay too.

i also like to have my plush friends join me so i can act like they're my pack :o) it's a nice way to feel less lonely as i watch. this also works if you're a domestic cat therian, have your plushies be your clouder! no matter what animal you are though, never feel less valid for wanting your stuffies with you during this. it doesn't matter if your theriotype isn't a social animal in the wild.

if you're an aquatic therian of some kind, i think a good idea would be taking your phone in the bathroom with you and setting it up outside of the tub to watch whilst you're in the water! (or shower if you don't have one, you can also use a kiddie pool outside in the warmer months). PLEASE remember to be safe during this though, if you worry about getting your phone wet then instead find some blue blankets and pretend it's the ocean!

3 •

going outside to where your theriotype resides in naturally. of course this won't be for everyone, since a lot of the time trips can end up being quite costly. something that i like to do is go to my local forest whenever i have the time to do so! i find it refreshing to sit by the stream and play in the water with my mate.

if you're a domestic dog therian, ask to go on a walk around the neighborhood with your friend! (or hell, go by yourself if it's safe enough, you're a free dog, you can do what you want). even as a wild animal i still enjoy this, so don't feel ashamed if you're ALSO a wild animal who wants to do things that domestic dogs do. it doesn't make you any less undomesticated.

if you're an animal that's used to deserts, i recommend going to where you can access sand (e.g. a sandbox at a playground, asking for a small sand tray to play in as a gift, a day out to the beach if you live near one). i also find that dried dirt that's very damaged can feel sort of similar to sand!

if you can't go outside for whatever reason, then there's always ways to make your bedroom feel similar to where you would be more comfortable. if your theriotype lives in dens like caves and underneath trees, make a blanket fort and pretend it's your home! if your theriotype rests in a burrow, make a tunnel with some blankets from the top of your bed all the way down to under it (if that doesn't work, pretend that anything below your bed is underground, and anything above your bed is the surface).

4 •

dressing in clothes that are the same color as your theriotype. i have this fluffy hat with ears that feels very affirming for my species dysphoria, paired with my favorite dark sweaters, warm pants and my tail. if you don't have any gear, don't worry! you don't need to have any to complete an outfit. sometimes clothing textures can also be affirming. for example if you have smooth skin like a whale, a bathing suit can feel similar to blubber. (if you have gender dysphoria, i recommend either full body bathing suits, or wearing pants on top of it and a jacket to help yourself feel more affirmed). i wear fluffy clothes because my fur is fluffy :o) it helps me, personally, but this might not be the same for everyone!

5 •

studying the behavior of your theriotype and trying your best to imitate it to the best of your abilities with the body you have. this can be as simple as copying how they act around each other as a family (for example wolves who are mates will rest their chins on each other to display affection), and as difficult as trying to vocalize what sounds your theriotype makes.

if you wanted to try the latter, i recommend looking at vocal exercises online before as a lot of creature sounds can and will strain your voice, i promise you that warming up your chords will not only help you sound clearer, it'll ensure that it won't take as much effort to do!

Winter canine things?????????

Hey! Im so excited to get back into requests!! Here is Max's wonderful list of wintery things for canine kin!

play in the snow!!!!

wear lots of cozy clothes (bonus points for faux fur)

Get into kirigurimi! (its cute lil onesies! you can find one that looks like your kin type and be all toasty and comfy)

Catch snowflakes on your tongue

If you live in a place that doesn't get super cold, go for a walk in a nearby forest/nature trail

Use the holidays as an excuse to get gear

Get some cute paw gloves to keep your lil doggie paws warm

Build a den in your room with some nice, warm, soft blankets

Spend time with friends and family, in person or online! show them that you care about them. Canines are extremely loyal and affectionate to their pack members, so remember to show them you love them

Summer activities for canine-kin

Summer time is here and canine kin and pet regressors need some things to do! Heres my list of summer time things for canine kin

Go to the beach and dig in the sand.

Go to a dog park and pet peoples dogs. Also, secretly try to communicate with them and let them know you are one of them.

Go swimming! Bonus points if you shake yourself dry.

Go to a wildlife park or zoo or petstore to see your kintype

Go for a walk! (Especially good for domestic canines)

Make a yarn tail

Get a pup cup from starbucks and eat it yourself

Roll around in some grass

Drink water REALLY loudly and REALLY sloppily (dogs really like to do this)

Get some ice pops and bite them really hard

Tips for canine kin and pet regressors

Quadrobics!

Quadrobics is a sport where one person runs on their hands and feet! It can be very fun and might make you feel more connected to your kintype or regressed species.

2. Kibble!

You cant eat actual dog food, but dry cereals and trail mix can feel pretty realistic. You can also eat (cooked) meat with your hands, and make a point to tear it apart and eat it in an animalistic way!

3. Toys!

Rubber chew toys can contain materials and chemicals inside them, ropes and plush toys can be a great substitute. Human safe rubber or silicon toys, or even baby chew toys can be a great (and safe) option!

4. Collars, Tags, and Harnesses, Oh my!

Collars can be great for domestic canines. They're really good for customization and can be made perfect for your specific style. They can also make you feel super close to your kintype! You can get tags for your collars at any pet store, and you can write your name and things on them aswell. Dog harnesses at the pet store may not fit you (even the biggest sizes are too small for most humans!), so remember that made-for-human harnesses are OK!

5. Training!

Training can be amazing for domestic canines. If you have a handler or caregiver, they can teach you tricks and commands. A way to feel even closer to your kintype is to learn your tricks in a language you don't know. That can simulate how dogs don't know what you're talking about at first, but eventually catch on.

6. Making a Den!

Making a den out of blankets, or laying on a dog bed, can be lots of fun and can make you feel like your true or regressed self. If you were a parent canine, add some stuffed animals in to your den to act as your pups.

7. Ears and Tails!

Wearing ears and tails can be very affirming. Ears and tails can be found online or in costume shops, and can come in any size, shape, or color.

Pup when he meets Wolf: *aggressive squeak immediately followed by trying to bite Wolf, which is about as effective as a plush toy with no teeth and certainly no mouth would realistically be and looks more like a weird headbutt* Ricky when he meets Jacket: *immediately attempts to steal Jacket's tape recorder so he can use it himself, but it weighs more than he does, resulting in him falling off wherever the recorder is* Nate when he meets Dallas: MEDIC BAG! George when he meets Hoxton: *stares up at him as if thinking, “This is my double? I am loving your plaushes and I'm an absolute sucker for life-sized/biologically accurate plushes. Have you ever done a maned wolf before?

Thank you! I got into making plush because there weren't enough realistic plush out there. I have a biology degree and wanted to go into zoology or wildlife services but my health prevents me from an active job. So now I make the animals I wanted to work with haha.

And soon! I'm currently designing a maned wolf now, but sadly this one won't be life-size (not ready to work on that size of plush again yet). But it will have accurate paw pads! And won't be all one solid color of red like all the plushies I've seen so far.

(The furs are not in the right places, I just threw them on there so it felt more maned wolfy.)

To design my patterns I sculpt the animal with packing paper (like the stuff that comes in Amazon boxes) or newspaper, wrap it in masking tape, and then make the pattern on the surface. I'll have to make a post detailing the process more sometime.
