my favourite perfume reminds me of my irl that i've known since i was 11

the rainbow pin i have on my backpack reminds me of my irl that we kinda spiderman memed each other through ana recovery

the xinyan keychain and the nb moth pin were a gift from the irl that i felt comfortable unmasking around

Borobudur, Indonesia

Borobudur is the worlds largest Buddhist temple built in the 9th century in Central Java. The temple consists of nine stacked platforms (6 square and 3 circular)topped by a central dome. Each of the 72 perforated stupa surrounding the central dome contain a Buddha statue. We climbed the temple in the dark to see the sunrise. Unfortunately the clouds didn’t cooperate and we watched the sky change from black to blue to white. The entrances on each level are guarded by lions like the one Jim is trying to tame. The entrances also have faces carved over them to scare bad energy away. The center picture shows one of the gargoyles that directed rain water back in the day.

Left top - Rawon a beef stew from East Java that is heavy on the obscure keluak nut to give it a seductively nutty flavor and a deep black color.

Left center - Bebe Lombok Ijo a Magelang crispy duck with green Chili samba.

Left bottom - Honestly, I can’t remember what this one is called, but its chicken in a spicy coconut sauce with long beans.

Center Top - Tuna Tartar: Yellowfin tuna, avocado, shallots, chili, coriander, garlic chips with a ponzu dressing.

Center 2nd - Martabak is an Indonesian handmade crepe with eggs, spices and ground beef

Center 3rd - Yakitori chicken charcoal grilled skewers, Japanese sweet soy sauce

Center bottom - Ikan Bakar Sambal Matah is a grilled marinated fish with many spices and fresh herbs

Right top - Chicken sate is marinated in a chili herb sauce then grilled over count husks. It is so moist and flavorful

Right bottom - I tried my hand at making honeycomb. Crumbled it’s a wonderful topping for ice cream! Mine came out a bit dark 15-20 seconds too long on the stove.

We were treated to an Indonesian barbecue. The food was set up in a street vendor format. Descriptions were printed on dried leaves. We dined poolside with a dance performance of Ramayana Dance (Mean king sees a girl he can’t have, kidnaps her, entities try to help, goodness prevails and girl is reunited with her true love).

Batik is very popular here. There are two basic versions: dipping a metal stamp in wax and pressing it on the cloth and hand painting the wax onto the cloth. It is then died and boiled to remove the wax. Very labor intensive! Jim and I picked up some art while here. We got to meet the artist. He also showed us how he can create art with burned ash (various types of cigarettes). The art is amazing, but the method will kill you.

We stopped at a local market. Amongst the fresh vegetables, dried fish, freshly killed chicken you can purchase a pet goldfish. The sheep riding on the scooter were purchased at a market and are going home to be raised for the next festival. Rosie The Riveter has been adapted for use as a cleaning out the house girl. Not as a maid, but as in a big sale to reduce merchandise. I don’t usually post the airplane pictures, but this one is great. Anais, our tour director, flies ahead of the group to make sure everything is perfect when we arrive. Paulo’s plane is parked between the airliner she was on and another one.

Here’s my two cents on how Wedding Night, a book by Sophie Kinsella, completely destroyed my image on how relationships work. Predicting what each other is thinking is fucked up, she should’ve just asked on how the relationship is progressing. You’re both adults just get on with it, they’re spoken words goddamit! I like Richard very much. Only on its first 30 pages though. Haven’t have the strength to go on to its next chapter. This is ridiculous.

OK. I have never been in a relationship. But I swear to God I will always speak my mind on my emotions and everything. I don’t sugarcoat and I won’t hide what I’m feeling anyway.

Oh and I went out with mom and her friend today. Her friend, let’s just call her F, is... weird. She likes cheap clothes and can’t wear them ‘well’ - meaning, the coordination, color, everything is off. I have been restricting to point something out but it’s totally not my place to.

Bought a new iPhone charging cable. I don’t know what the fuck is wrong with the fake ones. I mean, it could never charge my iPhone properly. I’ve been going through 3 fake cables and none would charge my iPhones without making a fuss. So I decided to buy the 300k one. it works so great and it has 2-year warranty. Ain’t that sumthin’.

Oh and my diet is not in such a dump today. Had rice and rawon soup with fried tempe for breakfast, banana protein pancakes for lunch, and salad + chicken katsu for dinner. I’d say it’s a good day for that, no?

I’m actually pretty nervous about this whole Japan thing. What if I don’t have enough money to stay in there for 2 weeks? What if Ricky bailed on us and won’t give us tickets? What if the Airbnb is not what we think it’d be? So much worry over this whole thing.

And also about Korea on November. i booked for 2-week trip but mom adamant for us to go for just 1-week trip. I don’t understand why she doesn’t want to stay for 2 weeks. We could just eat ramyeon for the rest 1-week anyway. She’s thinking that Korea is super expensive. Well, yeah it’s more expensive than this city but it’s not THAT expensive to begin with. We could always figure out a way to cook by ourselves and stuff. I really want too have fun this year, is that too much to ask?

Let’s have positive thoughts!

Oh and I’m back for CrossFit next week! I know it won’t be much for Japan but hey I’m working on it. I really want that body back. I want to have photoshoots, I want to have more art about myself in my Instagram. So that I could be fucking proud of it. Please, oh, please self, let’s get it back together. Let’s mind our eating and be motivated.
