Chapter 1 - Descendant...?

((First chapter! I hope other chapters won't be taking too long. Could also post some designs in between or try. Even if sketches maybe.))

Ravio had slept alright, at first, then would toss and turn until he fell off with a yelp. Sheerow jumped then flew over to him, poking him, chirping a bit.

“Ah… I'm alright, don't worry. Bad dream maybe um… “ he said as he got up, dusted himself off and sat back on his bed. “I'm well rested. Yet… Why hasn't the blacksmith… “ he blinked looking at the door, raising an eyebrow as he got up, looked at the trinket, more of a bracelet now, putting it on his wrist without much thought as he adjusted himself going to the door and reached to the knob to open it toward him. What awaited him only seemed familiar for only a few seconds as he stepped out.

Familiar greens that he was used to now after so long recovering. Possibly out of a habit he reached back to pull his hood over his head. His hood, still giving off the bunny that he had in the robe he wore before. Why did it seem so off? Still in Lorule right? Sheerow landed themselves on Ravio's shoulder and gave off some chirps.

He shook his head as he pet the bird's head. “something feels off about outside here doesn't it? I don't know why or where… the blacksmith is. He couldn't have…” he said then blinked hearing something nearby. He looked behind him briefly going back to grab something and then went through the door again. He had picked up and put on something carrying a sword. Sure he wasn't liking or wanting to fight yet from what he saw from Link it may have been better to have some defense than nothing at all.

He took a few more steps, very cautious steps before hearing some rustling in a nearby bush. Was it someone playing a joke? He wasn't sure yet would have a shaky hand near the hilt of the sword he had. He'd notice a figure, familiar yet not anyone he'd seen yet going closer seeing someone in what looked and wore something strangely similar to his and yet..

He'd grip the hilt, slowly pull it out from its sheath. He put it forward shakily. He still wasn't too used to making any attempts to actually fight only because having the Triforce back there didn't seem a need to. Though with that Hilda felt like Lorule still needed some defense against anyone of any threat. Possibly not wanting to make a mistake and trust someone even remotely like Yuga ever again. It was almost like Ravio finally being able to speak to her seriously could have had a very good impact on her to be better at taking care of her kingdom and with rational thought. Yet for her, since knowing Ravio had been helping a hero that there may have been more of a chance for even Ravio to truly be a hero too. As much as Ravio denied it yet would remember his words to Link before they were sent back to Hyrule. How he may have thought being around Hyrule's hero would rub off on him and maybe just maybe it has.

He approached the figure as it became a bit clearer yet his hand still shook as he got closer. The figure would look around a bit frightened himself and confused before turning to see Ravio then jump then would immediately run into a bush as some odd instinct to hide. It was also oddly followed by some rabbit-like ears sticking out from the bush.

“Ahh! Please don't hurt me!” they shouted as they hid.

This confused Ravio even more. This person seemed very similar somehow to him yet he seemed more scared from someone just approaching him almost like he was before the triforce returned to Lorule. He could not really bear to just have the sword out when they had not done anything that would threaten him so he put it away and sighed.

“Hey, it's ok. I won't hurt you. You… Surprised me. Um.. You can come out of hiding. I assure you there's no way I'd hurt anyone without a reason. So..” Ravio spoke trying to calm the other who looked oddly like him yet when the other one showed himself again he looked rabbit-like. Possibly more than the outfit Ravio himself would wear to hide himself while in Hyrule.

The other person stood, looking like some human rabbit thing but was still trying to stand and look at Ravio before blinking and tilting his head as if not noticing his own look.

“What..? I'm out and- wait… You're looking at me like..” The other paused before looking at himself and placed one rabbit-like hand to his face in disbelief. “Not this form again…and I'm not even..” they would look at themselves a bit worried before looking back at Ravio.

Ravio blinked, tilting his head a bit confused yet was also curious. This other person had a rabbit look to them but the face seemed fairly similar to his own. “this… um.. I know I just met you and all but might I ask your name?” he asked. Yes, it was so soon yet the similarities the other had to him he just had to know.

This literal rabbit man, pinkish purple in colour, looked to Ravio still a bit shocked from him and his own form at the moment. He'd look down, biting his lip a bit before answering.

“Name? It's Ravio” he said which made Ravio stare. “What?”

“Oh.. Well that.. That's also my name so uh..” Ravio tried not to leave the other Ravio to think anything bad of his reaction. He was very much surprised at the answer, but another Ravio? He thought for a moment to himself about the reasoning behind it all.

It was then he remembered something or a few things he remembered actually. Similarly to possibly Hyrule, there was a set of pictures somewhere in Lorule, maybe not as visible as it could be in Hyrule, but still hidden away he'd remember pictures of some hero. Possibly one that he was some descendant to but only had him as some potential hero based on him? He honestly thought it could have been some tale made up in stories by very few in Lorule at the time that had any hope Lorule would ever have any chance of being saved then?

Though he looked to the one he just met, who was very nervous, possibly similar to him back then. There was nothing about his rabbit-like form though. Lorule's ancestors may have been so much more picky on what they truly wanted to record, especially when they decided on destroying the triforce in the first place. Or maybe Lorule was actually without a triforce a bit longer than originally thought.

He looked to the other one of him, lifting up his own hand. “could it possibly be you're a, this even sounds odd to me, previous hero of Lorule? Here I was thinking none would possibly exist before me.. and named the same.”

This other one of him looked to one side as he heard Ravio speak then the rabbit ears would face forward as he looked to him, eyes slightly wide then looked down without moving his head. “how would you… Wait… could that be why we.. You're a… descendant..”

“of the hero..?” Ravio finished off the other's thoughts as they spoke. “I never thought there was anyone.. before me? But then what…” he thought to himself for a while then blinked when the other's form was gradually becoming much more human. “... Never heard of that anywhere but guessing is not the best thing huh?”

The other shook his head even after noticing his looks were becoming less rabbit-like. “that only came when going into a nasty world of ‘his’ liking.” he said with a mix of annoyance yet also fear. This both made Ravio curious and yet scared only because he more or less may have a guess on whom the other Ravio was speaking of.

Ravio twitched a tiny bit as he'd speak again. “I am taking a guess that that one you speak of… May they be named.. Yuga?” he said gulping as he felt a bit of a fear he hadn't felt in so long after not only Yuga's defeat but since Lorule's triforce returned. Part of him hoped it was different yet kind of got that maybe even Yuga could have had some descendants which he was sure Yuga would love to hear if he was still around.

The other hesitated then would sigh then nod. “Unsure how you'd know but if you're someone possibly descended from me or something then..” he looked annoyed. “to think he was…”

“Something we both share… a disliking to a certain um.. Clown sorcerer.” he said and happy he could since he was sure Yuga may have not liked calling him a clown. Though with his pale skin and makeup one would think he was an old clown anyway.

The other stared at him before snorting a little then shrugged. “Funny but um… Can a pig-like thing be a clown of any kind? Or… Was there.. An ACTUAL human form?? Still must have been scary though.” he said as he crossed his arms, his face forming a pouting face and looked a bit older than Ravio. He thought for a sec. “I'm thinking we can't really go around using a name we both have yet I can't think of anything to go with..” This got Ravio thinking since, the other Ravio was right, can't just call out to him without confusing the other.

Ravio stared before he spoke again. “.... Bunny. Uh I did see you like a bunny. Actual bunny boy.. So um”

“Ah! Wha? Er but didn't..” he sighs. “maybe it's the first thing but um think it needs more or uh…”

“Legen… vio? I.. Thought to maybe fit in some part of the name we share. Uh.. I used to sell things that felt like the beginning part of a word that fits us and add ‘vio’ I.. I'm not the most creative here so uh…” he said, bringing his hand behind his head nervously. “and you're a legend..? Hm… I.. Used to rent and sell items but uh…I don't.. ”

The other Ravio, Legenvio, blinked, holding his own chin nodding. “Oh, it's not so bad. Guess whatever makes it easier? Though you said you sold things before but not now? Like a merchant? Mer.. ch.. Merchavio?”

This made Ravio shake his head. “I don't do that as much anymore or kind of? Maybe rarely if I need to but not lately uh.. We're similar still but you can take ‘Legenvio’ for the legend part I guess but uh…” he thought to himself for a moment just thinking back. He is really similar even if just in an old outfit he had there was still some essence of a bunny or rabbit within it. “Still have the bunny part that makes me, me or I guess that could be a thing even if so far you have a literal form of it. I could go with Rabivio.. Origivio..? It's either share the bunny part or that I'm the original? Maybe kind of Merchavio”

“Unsure what you're meaning when I'm thinking there's some kind of timeline with us if you're descended from me.. But also could there be.. Others? Maybe? Just go with what you said. This feels very weird.. Wait.” Legenvio then would notice Sheerow resting on the other's head. “... Ah! Sheerow! But.. Yours?” he stared then would look around frantically. “Showed up… how could I forget.. Oh heck think all this.. SHEEROW!” Legenvio looked around then ran off in a direction clearly worried.

“H-hey! Wa…” he sighed then followed after the other. As he ran he glanced at Sheerow with a small smile. “Guess you could be a descendant from before or any version of me has you..? This is.. interesting.

For the prompts, maybe two of the ravio's having to work together even if they don't like it?

Like whether personalities clash or early adventure when they don't trust each other yet?

I saw this and saw the opportunity for both 'personalities clash in early adventure' and to write an episode that I've mentioned before but didn't really elaborate on, so I took that opportunity. Thank you so much for the prompt!

Here's a showcase of Viola and Compass having conflict while under pressure because a certain instrument disappeared c:

"HOW? We were only gone for five minutes, how can it be MISSING?"

Viola's hair was rapidly turning into a knotted mess the more he ran his hands through it, pacing a hole into the ground as he fruitlessly searched for an answer. It didn't make sense. They'd intentionally gone further away from civilization because they were unsure how the enhanced magic of this era would affect the Viola of Space, but that was hardly a problem now.

The new, much larger problem was that it had VANISHED.

"Well, what did you think would happen?" That condescending tone coming from a teenager made Viola want to scream. "You took it out, then ran off to go deal with some monster, leaving it fully unattended. That's asking for something to get stolen."

Viola let out a deep, shuddering breath that sounded more like a growl as he glared at Compass. "And who was the one getting into trouble, hm? I think I remember someone wandering straight into octorok territory and screaming for help-"

"I did not 'scream for help!'" came the indignant retort. "Shouting in surprise is not the same thing as screaming for help! Besides, how hard is it to put the SACRED FUCKING ARTIFACT away before running after someone?"

Goddesses above, Viola wanted to throttle this kid.

Still, the already-present flush of embarrassed rage only intensified because he was right. The viola should have been properly put away before he ran to help Compass deal with those monsters, but how was he supposed to know that Compass wasn't inching closer to death with every second he delayed? How was he supposed to know that he'd simply gotten pelted in the side by an overgrown squid? It hadn't been anything near important enough to warrant the rush he'd granted it, but how was he supposed to know?

Viola ran his hands through his hair once again, with another frustrated sigh accompanying the action. "Well, we still need to find it!" He said sharply, finally turning his frantic gaze at his four companions. "We're stuck here until we do!"

"Uh… with what leads?" Their newest recruit had to point out the obvious, didn't he? Warp even helpfully elaborated, "There aren't any tracks around where it was."

"I DON'T KNOW!" Viola snapped, but the immediate flinch at his volume sent a new pang of guilt through his chest. "There has to be something," he muttered, looking away.

"No reason to yell at somebody else for your fuck-up though," Compass said, sounding more irritated than before. "You don't get to take out your shit on us just because-"

Distant notes carried through the air.

"Shut up."

"What was that?"

"I said shut the fuck up!" Viola snapped again, turning to locate where the noise was coming from. "Listen. Do you hear that?"

The sound of strings became more clear as the arguing paused. Distant, but close enough to be heard. And whoever was playing it clearly didn't have much experience, but Viola could already tell what melody they were trying to replicate.

Viola all but pushed Compass and Empyrean out of his way as he bolted in the direction of the music, swearing violently all the while. He couldn't wait for the others. The Viola of Space didn't care about skill as long as the correct notes were played in the correct order, and whoever was trying to play it now had obviously heard the Song of Space and was dangerously close to getting it right.

By the time he was close enough that the player had to be just beyond a few more trees, he heard the Song of Space plucked from the sacred instrument.

In an instant, an opaque dome of muted colors appeared before Viola. He stumbled to a halt just before he could run directly into it, his veins filling with ice at the sight. The radius seemed much larger than it ever had before, reaching at least ten feet into the air, and Viola could only guess it was the same all around. And as quickly as it appeared, it vanished, with a sudden gust of wind that pulled every surrounding tree, stone, and person toward the newly-vacant space.

Viola felt like his very breath had been sucked out of him. The force of the gale on his back on top of the knowledge that the Viola of Space was gone made breathing feel damn near impossible.

It didn't take long for the others to catch up with him, announced by an impressed "Lorelle's grace," from Empyrean at the sight of the crater. It likely wasn't more than a few seconds, but soul-crushing despair had a way of stretching time.

"What happened?" Warp asked, awe and horror mixing in his voice.

"What does it look like?" Viola asked, as the need to explain the obvious scratched at his nerves. "Whoever took the viola just escaped! With a chunk of Lorule."

"It can do that?"

"HERE, APPARENTLY."

"Goddesses… Okay…" Warp murmured, clearly hesitating before he attracted more of Viola's frustration. "So… what now?"

"Until one of us figures out a different way to travel between worlds, we're stuck here!" Viola announced, finally getting to his feet again. His voice dripped with sarcasm as he asked, "Anyone have any surprise artifacts waiting to be revealed? Anything with space magic? I'm all ears."

"Any space magic?" Compass asked, reaching for his own gold-tipped staff. "Because this might work."

"You're fucking joking."

"I'm actually not, thanks for the vote of confidence," he said, ignoring Viola's tone. "This is the Advent Rod. It usually can't create gates to anywhere other than its normal destinations, but clearly magic is off the charts here. So it might work."

There was a moment of stunned silence before Origin - Origin - chimed in, stating, "It's worth trying." When all eyes went to him, he simply muttered, "It's not as if we have any other options."

"He's right," Empyrean agreed. "It's either try this or be stuck in this time while someone or something runs wild with the Viola of Space. I think it's our best shot."

"Fine," Viola spat, loathing the satisfaction that Compass clearly got from the word. "Just do whatever you need to."

The magic of the Advent Rod was far less graceful than the Viola of Space. While the sphere of space magic had appeared in an instant and left a vacuum in its wake, Compass' portal opened much more slowly, accompanied by horrible, booming CRACKS as the Advent Rod's magic tore a hole in the fabric of reality. Air began to rush toward it, as if the dark colors of the portal were hiding just as much of a void as the sphere had.

Viola barely heard Empyrean shouting for them to "GO!" before they all stopped fighting the wind and surrendered to the portal's event horizon.

His final thought before entering it was, "Compass better be able to close this."

Depending on your preference, I’d recommend ravioverse, whose tumblr blog is the same name, and the ageless-soul-au, which is more on the shippy side but it’s very near and dear to my heart.

I’ve heard of both, though of the two the first one is an LU AU the last I checked?

#I don’t have a strong opinion/pref for shippy stuff (I used to filter out romance when looking for fanfics aha) but it’s cool if you do!#and if it wasn’t obvious yet I’m not as into L U anymore but some of you might still be so 🙌 new au to check out for y’all #thanks for the recs #wafflesasks #anon

LU and co. games

(So I’ve been thinking abt this for a while actually, the question we have all asked:

“What if LU was it’s own game?”

It eventually revived was expanded across @thedarksverse and @ravioverse today with @empress-elizabeth finishing their LU game cover.

So, here we are, and here’s a short list of ideas for each game:

The Legend of Zelda: The Linked Universe

- Play as: Hyrule

- Yes, Hyrule is main player, but there’s the possibility of it going up to nine players if that many people wish to play. Possibly.

- 9, 17, or 18 dungeons (9 incarnations, 18 games (unless you put the oracle games together, which would be 17)

- Time periods switch when you’ve completed all necessary tasks for that Hyrule

- Unless you haven’t finished a particular side quest, then you switch after that quest

The Legend of Zelda: Warped Reflections

- Play as: Shadow

- Has some potential to be a multiplayer

- 12 dungeons max

- Probably more story based than LU

- Alternate plot idea would be trying to find and recruit the other Darks to go up against Eternal, Stygian, and Conqueror before they find them first, but there’s a lot brushing up and editing that can be done with that

- At least half the game in the Dark World

The Legend of Hilda: Third Collision

(ok this one will be a bit harder to make considering a lack of information on a few games, but we doin’ this anyway)(also name might change due to LoH plot, this just sounded cooler than ‘Second Collision’)

- Play as: idk, maybe Empyrean? Either Empyrean or Viola for sure (at least half the group are good choices tho asdkljskak)

- 9 dungeon minimum

- The goal of the game is probably fixing a Space arrmagedon or something like that

- relatively equal in gameplay to story

- side quest rules in LU apply here too

- more magic based gameplay than the other two games

and, of course

The Legends of the Multiverse: Time and Space

- MULTIPLAYER (or the story probs won’t work that great)

- Plot: The Heroes and Darks from three parts of the multiverse are faced with the threat of the very fabric of reality collapsing for all of their worlds. All bets and animosity must be cast to the side if the multiverse is going to survive a blow this big.

- I have some more ideas for plot but I want to see what you guys have

- 7 dungeons (6 Triforce pieces + 1 dark dungeon)

- emphasis on story, but still good gameplay

- Time limit?????
