Peryite is such an underrated daedric prince to me, conceptually. His sphere of influence has so much potential to explore. Like, disease and the natural order together? The way his followers see disease as a blessing? I love the implications there alone. He's the weakest prince, but his sphere has the potential to be so subtly destructive. One of his symbols, skeevers, represents that so well. The series has been kinda meh at exploring the princes philosophically but I feel like they are right on the cusp of something interesting with him, but since he isn't as flashy or obviously "bad" (or sexy) as the other ones he keeps getting put on the backburner. Gimme an interesting Peryite storyline pretty please. Explore things a little
#i saw a reddit comment saying that peryite/hircine/namira would be an interesting combo and i want it so so bad#like the 'natural order' trio. theyre all repulsive in some way but also sort of just a factor of life you cant fight against#i do not trust eso to do something interesting here though tbh. they use daedric princes a lot (too much) but it always just makes them#allies or bad guys and never really gets into their (or their followers) philosophy much#(from what ive seen so far)#mine#tes#the elder scrolls#peryite#relate him to the ecological role of disease or something idk#or if you want to go darker: population control or the way governments allow disease to affect those they want gone#actually get into the logic of why his followers follow him (although they rarely get into that for the other princes too so meh)

To date (as of 2022), 49 cases of feline PHA (Primary Hyperaldosteronism) have been reported, and it may be the most common adrenocortical disorder in this species.
I don't know if she's #50. Her vet said that there have only been 4 diagnosed in the past 6 years, but I'm guessing she meant in general. I initially thought she meant just GA.

He definitely could! Dipper does love helping people.
And it'd be delightfully frustrating for Dipper to try and navigate his chosen profession while hooking up with a guy who's into intestinal origami and mind-breaking. Bill might be knowledgeable, but he offers a lot of highly inadvisable advice.

never trust any narrative about medicine that talks in 100% absolutes.
#like it does not work that way.#there's degrees of safety and side effects and likelinesses that should be weighed compared to alternatives#sometimes the risk is so low it's not super worth even worrying about but negating risk at all is still a form of misinformation#you tell someone 'there's a tiny miniscule chance you could have x disease but even if you do we are researching ways to handle and fix tha#potential side effect but if you DON'T take it the chance you will have y disease is idk 10.000 times higher'#MUCH more convincing than 'this is 100% safe and necessary considering y and you're stupid to question if it's safe at all'#especially when like. the latter is literally factually untrue so there WILL be proof against it right.#the proof against it does NOT mean it's going to be statistically relevant to the general population#but if the only people who are taking it seriously are also people spreading misinformation!#then that can just be. weaponised.#whatever#incoherents#this goes for treatment not just preventative too like. if someone says ANYTHING is 100% safe well! though if you're actually#like with a doctor and they say something's VIRTUALLY completely safe that's different I am more talking about studies#bc the doctor is using language of what things actually would matter to you as a general person in their populace#however you're still entitled to know potential side effects even if they're rare and usually that's something a pharmacist legally can#explain and will be listed in the paperwork around it

it is becoming Increasingly Clear to me that i can no longer be taken out into public because i will start doing to fonts what jirt would do to the rocks and plants whilst on little walks
#the worm speaks#i'm noticing that a lot of signage these days don't have small caps which is a bit sad but i suppose they are somewhat antiquated#most of them have just straight up all-caps and i'm like 'mmmm. would a small caps version be better here?'#the other day i was like 'what if i left everything behind to get a job at a type foundry in taiwan. what then.'#what would i bring to the table there? why a sense of western aestheticism for the latin glyphs in their fonts#combined with a lesser but probably still noteworthy knowledge of chinese calligraphy to help ensure there is a sense of unity#btwn the latin and chinese glyphs#and also kerning i would bring kerning to the table for the latin glyphs. like if we Must be monospace abt things we can do that#but on god. the number of times i download a cn script font and go 'ah.' bc the english is the Ugliest monospace serif you'll ever see#fortunately while it is a bit of work it's at least easier to match english fonts to cn ones bc there are So Many more free ones lol#the other day i was looking through a chinese font website n i was reading their ~story~ behind this one particular series#that they based off the calligraphy in these five or six Ancient Rare Books in the national palace museum#and they were like 'yes the poetry was beautiful and moving. but to a type designer the writing itself is even more attractive'#and i felt so called out. i have just the most incurable font disease on the planet lmao#the other thing i think that might be neat to bring to cn font design Would be the concept of italics#like i know that's just not a standard thing and that Makes sense bc to oblique the letters is just#like. why would you do that. it's hard to read. but the spirit of italics is to change the font style entirely whilst keeping in harmony#with the rest of the regular typeface which i think would be Neat to bring in esp since italics usually have a bit more flourish to them#the other day i also found out that fangsong is used in government documents n i was like#>:0 no wonder it has every character and variant known to man......

#cryptidcore oc let's go#so this is Caliban and he has awoo disease and i think he's very cool#he doesn't have daddy issues. his dad has son issues.#bro has two times of the month and is not happy with it#he doesn't particularly like being a werewolf but he's come to accept it. it makes it easier to bond with other monsters and cryptids#he's an extrovert but only trusts people he's very close to (and very rarely humans)#he carries around a little journal with him everywhere along with a polaroid camera so he can collect his evidence#very tired student. dealing with essays and transformations is not fun#he uses a cane sometimes when his leg is in too much pain (okay maybe he does have daddy issues)#anyways this was super fun to make#i really wanted it to capture his personality and i think it came out decent

how to explain how much the theatre backstage pics hurt me
#its rare to have something in your life this large and abandon it#i started doing theatre when i was 9 or 10#i started dancing around then or before too i think#i dont think im a genius but i would not be anywhere near where i am now without it#my entire understanding of people comes from this#its the last remnant of a life i had where i had goals and i could tell where i was going and what i needed to do#to someone on the outside it looks like i never left cuz i do film and music now but i cant explain how different it is#that used to be my entire world. i only spent time there. i literally went to an arts school because i was accepted into a theatre program#and now ive left it all#idk i think about ********** and i start crying#it killed us too#im just completely different now i get stressed thinking about it or when people mention it unrelated to me likedrop that. leave it alone.#i had to kill her and now im dying too#its easy to sell your soul to rock and shred yourself on stage its expected its relieving but the mental damage theatre and dance does is#much much harder to explain#the critics and the directors like you need to constantly question why and discipline yrself#god this is so dumb i need to never look at those images again#i just remember being twelve sitting on the black boxes knowing i had to prove myself ill probably never feel like that agian#and just the basic thing of like. how many of us died from dance. how much it ruined out bodies. ballet is truly a disease#ballet kills children#rahh ive had too much im not thinking straight rn this is all feelings#just. the pride. and safety i felt fromthe backstage view#mitski i cry at the start of every movie because i wish i were doing things too

Learned a cool thing about proteins last week and it concerned cannibalism and I was like oh would Hannibal get mad cow disease too
#it's long to explain but it comes from a misfolded protein that has this fucking awsome power of infecting without having infectious agents#it's wrong but it's stable and it makes every other protein wrong#and it can come from a genetic mutation but it's very rare#the main transmission comes from ingesting brains of an infected subject#it can be a cow or a sheep (cows got it from sheeps) but humans got it from cannibalism and use of hormones and cornea transplants#first then when the mad cow disease spread scientists started to figure out how it worked#it's really interesting actually what a misfolding can do#and misfolding always happens in general#i mean that misfolding of that particular protein is rare but the interesting part is how it infects without being like. a virus
