#Uncool50 - design of a decade

The penultimate part of the #Uncool50 project, a life told through music.

This episode covers the 2010s, pretty much all of them. Music as a whole certainly hasn’t got any worse than when I was young, but the stuff I don’t like is much more visible. Commercial forces have chosen to force rap and R&B into the mainstream, and this isn’t the area I’m drawn to.

The early 2010s were the turbopop era. So many great songs, and so many that I could have chosen on musical merit – but they don't have the same memories as earlier years.

One song that does - Tegan & Sara’s “Closer” (from 2012) - is not eligible because they never released it as a single, or promoted as one, over here.

The Veronicas are like being embraced in a warm hug, a gig to promote love and happiness and general positivity. On their 2015 tour, Jess and Lisa were supported by Badflower, who have gone on to bigger things.

"If you love someone" takes me back to that gig, a final night with Anna before she moved away. And confirming – as if it was needed - that being you is more than enough.

Taylor Swift, the voice of the millennial generation. For my money, the album "1989" is Swift’s strongest work, every track has a hook, every track tells a story, every track is worth a listen.

And when I was in Texas in autumn 2015, Jae and I listened to "1989" right through, cruising down the interstate as the sun slipped down over the horizon. "Wildest dreams" was the song in hot rotation at the time, and it'll always take me back to that trip with my best friend.

Another honourable mention: “Not my soul”, the best Eurovision song of the decade. Destiny Chukenyere’s classic was never promoted over here.

Greatest pop song of the 2010s? "Can't stop the feeling!", a disco confection more perfect than any millefeuille. Start with a funky bass riff, add on some sampled guitars and horns to accentuate the chorus like Wham! did.

The lyric doesn't have to mean much, in fact it's probably better if the lyric doesn't mean anything. It's a feelgood song, an instant classic… and completely overshadowed in its own lunchtime. Didn't even win Best Interval Act at the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest.

In diesem Beitrag möchte ich dir den Bausatz BLITZ-O-SHIELD von Ramser Elektronik für den Arduino UNO vorstellen.

BLITZ-O-SHIELD für den Arduino UNO von Ramser Elektronik Den Bausatz BLITZ-O-SHIELD – ARDUINO BLITZDETEKTOR SHIELD habe ich kostenfrei erhalten und liefer im Gegenzug diesen Beitrag und diverse Beiträge auf sozialen Kanälen, daher kennzeichne ich diesen auch als Werbung. Aber, obwohl ich diesen kostenfrei erhalten habe, gebe ich dir meine persönliche Meinung.

Wie funktioniert der Gewitterwarner?

Ein AM Verstärker & Transistor fangen ein Signal ein, welches von einem LC Schwingkreis geliefert wird. Bei einem LC Schwingkreis wird Energie zwischen einem magnetischen Feld der Spule und dem elektrischen Feld des Kondensators periodisch ausgetauscht. Der LC Schwingkreis ersetzt in diesem Bausatz die Antenne auf der Platine und ist auf ca. 500 khz abgestimmt. Der Arduino zählt hier die Impulse, welche über AM Signale eingefangen werden. Dabei werden umso mehr Pulse gemessen, je näher ein Blitz einschlägt. Auf der Seite https://www.ramser-elektro.at/blitz-o-shield-der-gewitter-detektor/ findest du eine sehr ausführliche Erläuterung der Schaltung und der Entstehung zu dieser, wenn du also mehr erfahren möchtest, dann empfehle ich dir diese. Der Bausatz verfügt über drei LEDs (rot, gelb, grün und weiß) über diese kann man visuell ablesen, welche aktuelle Warnstufe vorliegt.

Löten der Platine

Du bekommst diesen Bausatz in zwei Varianten, zum einen nur die leere Platine und dann noch den Bausatz zum selber löten. In meinem Fall habe ich den Bausatz erhalten, welchen ich zunächst zusammenlöten werde.

Für die korrekte Platzierung der Bauteile, liegt dem Bausatz ein kleiner Plan bei, sollte dieser nicht ausreichend sein, findest du aber auch auf der Webseite vom Hersteller eine ausführliche Anleitung (bereits oben verlinkt).

Die Stiftleisten lassen sich prima auf die korrekte Länge kürzen, wenn du diese auf einen Arduino UNO steckst und dann mit einem Seitenschneider abschneidest.

Wenn du die Stiftleisten angepasst hast, dann steckst du diese auf den Arduino UNO und platzierst die Platine darauf. Damit kannst du nun die Platine mit den Stiftleisten verbinden und kannst dir somit sicher sein, dass diese im korrekten Winkel angebracht werden.

Ich habe zum Schluss noch die Platine mit Aceton gesäubert und somit das Lötfett entfernt.

Programmieren in der Arduino IDE 2.0

Von Ramser Elektronik erhältst du ebenso ein fertiges Programm, welches du auf deinen Arduino aufspielen und sofort verwenden kannst. Dieses Programm findest du unter Downloads auf der Seite https://www.ramser-elektro.at/support/downloads/bausaetze-downloads/. Ich habe mir die Freiheit genommen, das Programm etwas aufzuräumen und umzustrukturieren. Im Grunde ist es aber noch dasselbe wie vom Hersteller! modifiziertes Programm Blitz-O-ShieldHerunterladen

Testen des Blitz-O-Shield

Für heute Abend (05.05.2023) ist bei uns in Niedersachsen ein Gewitter angekündigt, jedoch nicht in unserer Region.

Jedoch kann man das Shield auch mit einem elektrischen / Piezo Feuerzeug testen. Durch das Durchdrücken des Tasters am Feuerzeug wird ein kleiner elektrischer Impuls ausgegeben, welcher am Shield mit einem Aufleuchten der weißen LED "STRIKE" quittiert wird.

Fazit & Ausblick

Der Aufbau war recht einfach, jedoch musste ich bei den LEDs auf die Onlinehilfe zurückgreifen, denn auf der Platine sind die Kontakte nicht erkennbar gewesen. Aber dafür ist ja auch schließlich die Aufbauanleitung da. Da bei uns zzt. kein Gewitter angekündigt ist, konnte ich bis heute das Shield nicht testen, jedoch mit einem Piezo Feuerzeug konnte ich die weiße LED zum Aufleuchten bringen (siehe kurzes Video). Im nächsten Schritt möchte ich nun den Code in eine Bibliothek umschreiben um und dir gerne zeigen, wie du diese Signale per IFTTT auf dein Handy schicken lässt. Read the full article
