And that's where it started. And so, I got to basically just sit in Hugh's presence and just watch that unbelievable talent shine through in every tiny look and every tiny glance in— it's this porcelain mask, and just trying to find the cracks in it. And he reveals just enough. And yeah. I was in awe of him when I was working with him. And I think that just helped. That was the most unexpected, and most pleasantly unexpected, aspect of the whole romance, really.
Jaskier responds to everybody. I think that's his thing. He is so deeply mesmerized by everyone around him and trying to figure them out and trying to learn them. And that means that when I'm playing him, when I'm in my slightly odd fugue state, I am just very reactionary. And very front-footed, but very reactionary as well. And any tiny movement informs my performance.
