Rewatching Jellystone and on one hand I kinda don’t care that they made Jonny and Hadji married even though they were adopted brothers in the original series because the original series is so buttfuck old I don’t know anyone under 40 who gives a shit about Jonny Quest or the original series and it’s a show where Yogi Bear is a doctor, the original canon does not exist in this show
but on the other hand they could have made Jonny and Hadji kids and made Benton and Race their gay dads and have Jonny and Hadji be part of the main ensemble of kids.
Also, it seems like even the people who grew up with Jonny Quest have some sort of vendetta against him because in modern portrayals he’s portrayed as
A. A traumatized, paranoid former boy adventurer who turned to drugs to cope with his trauma and was basically abandoned by everyone except for the man who technically used to torment him (Venture Bros)
B. An idiot who everyone forgets exists and nobody even cares about him, even his own husband brushes him off cruelly (Jellystone)
Do you ever find yourself desperately, quietly, longingly wondering what happened to Jonny Quest, Jessie Bannon, Hadji Singh, Benton Quest, and Race Bannon after The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest was mercilessly canceled back in like, 1997?
Just me? Hopefully not, lol. I was about to share my 14th chapter when I realized I never actually shared any of the previous ones here. So, without any more of this silly ado, here's Chapter 1 of Phantoms, a post-canon, JJHR, supernatural romance drama thing.
