me watching JW3: hey, I know that dinosaur! hey, I know that dinosaur! hey, I know that dinosaur! DIMETRODON???????? hey, I know that dinosaur! hey, I know thaー
#JW3#whenever it got quiet i'd lean over to my dad and just be like#that's therizinosaurus#and he'd be like ''oh yeah?''#and i'd be like ''biggest claws in the animal kingdom''#and he'd see them 5 seconds later and be like ''WHAAAT THE??''#i did this for every dinosaur xD#90% of the time before they even showed up. idk. i can just sense them#''oh hey quetzelcoatlus is about to show up''#''whatー''#*quetzelcoatlus shows up*#''how the fuck''#crisp rat: allosaurus?#me: no you dumb idiot fool that's giganotosaurus fuckin dumbass#girl who's name i never learned: no you dumb idiot fool that's giganotosaurus the biggest land predator ever get your shit together#it was an okay movie i guess. couldve used more accurate dinosaurs since they kept bragging about how accurate they are in the movie#like when fucking pyroraptor was swimming like a fish & still had those weird hands & also flight feathers on its upper arms for some reason#and therizinosaurus looked like it was balding what's up with that#that's supposed to be a full pure blooded theriz but it looks like THAT? no fuckin way my dude#i really hope people don't think dimetrodon is a dinosaur. please guys don't think dimetrodon is a dinosaur#it feels like they were just trying to get as many random dinos in as possible to be like ''we know dinosaurs besides trex we swear''#NONE of them got ANY screen time besides ONE cameo#also it never says how the dinos ended up living wild all over the world. they just are.#10 dinos 1 from each species was brought to the USA & suddenly there's dinos in africa. how'd they get there#the movie seemed like it was just made up of cameos & callbacks tbh#there was just. nothing else. just ''look it's just like in the first movie. look it's just like in the first movie. look it's just likeー''#it was fine as an action movie cashgrab but other than that like. i dont think i'd watch it again for fun

as far as dinosaur, I'd say iguanadon! (i'd also say pterosaurs, but they apparently dont really 'qualify' as dinosaurs in the same way?? idk i still like them tho ndjfjcj)
oooo good choice. iguanadons have gone through almost as many changes as fuckin spinosaurus, i love seeing old paleoart of them.
pterosaurs are cousins to dinosaurs! they share a common ancestor but diverged early on and lack the characteristics of dinosaurs

so we were watching prehistoric planet and there's a part, i think with the quetzelcoatlus, where attenborough's like "she will guard the nest diligently until the eggs hatch, but her young must fend for themselves" and without really thinking about it i said "oh, so she's a republican" and my mom nearly inhaled her soda

The way you described Cybertronians in the Invasive AU reminds me of the machines in the Horizon series and Jurassic Park's dinosaurs. Did you perhaps take inspiration from these?
I don't know that the Horizon series is, so that's a no on that one. However! The first ever post of the Invasive Species AU was just a silly one-off joke, drawing inspo from the Quetzelcoatlus in Jurassic World nesting on top of a skyscraper. I just went "lol what if some crazy seekers were to cause a ruckus like that? Wouldn't that be so funny :)" and then it just massively mutated outside the bounds of my expectations XD I didn't expect anyone else to actually care, but here we are
So... kind of? Like the first ever post came from Jurassic World, but everything after that hasn't involved any thought of dinosaurs. There's very little overlap with them--the Jurassic World situation is entirely a manmade fuck up, whereas with the Invasive Species AU, the cybertronians are just space faring pests that do as they please

Work in progress sketch for Quetzelcoatlus northropi. Discovered in 1971 in Texas by Douglas Lawson, this pterosaur lived during the Late Cretaceous (68 to 66 million years ago) and was one of the largest animals capable of flight in the fossil record. With an estimated wingspan of roughly 33 feet and a walking height of roughly 16 feet in height, with terrestrial proportions having been compared to those of a modern day Giraffe, only with a skull longer than a fully grown human. Despite this size it was relatively lightly built with upper estimates being between 440 to 550 pounds.
Not the only giant pterosaur, Q. northropi was part of a family of huge Cretaceous flyers called Azhdarchidae, with members of said family spread throughout the world.
It's thought that Quetzelcoatlus likely acted as giant Heron-like predators, hunting down prey in terrestrial and shallow water environments. Evidence suggests that it was quite ambulatory, walking on all 4 limbs while on the ground with it's wings folded at the sides. Very recently published research suggests that the hind legs were likely free of wing membrane and that such attachments would have been functionally useless based on the known anatomy.
It is important to not that the fossil remains of Quetzelcoatlus northropi are very fragmentary and much of the suggested proportions are drawn from other related (but smaller specimens) both of which were found in the Javelina formation. The smaller specimen was name as a different species of the same genus with more research being conducted on the larger remains to determine if they were the same or a different species.

I cant remember if i already talked about this but my family had a “no tech day” a few days ago and during it my brothers and i took these like. Window-safe markers and wrote the alphabet on a window. Then we used a nerf gun and took turns shooting two different letters and having to come up with an animal that had both those letters in it and let me just say there is no greater brag than being able to immediately say “QUETZELCOATLUS” the moment a dart hits the letter e

Oxventure Level-Up...again
The next levelling up is imminent, and roughly going by their level-up styles here’s what they can learn (And also I’m going to amend my choices from this previous post):
Corazon (one spell up to LV2)
Alter Self: If Andy enjoyed magical disguises then he’ll love being able to shapeshift into any humanoid, including making himself amphibious or giving himself claws
Egbert (one spell up to LV2)
Find Steed: It would just be funny if Egbert had the Egbert babies, Seal Gaiman and also a spectral mount that he can materialise and dematerialise whenever he wants without expending a spell.
Prudence (two spells up to LV 4)
Summon Greater Demon: I don’t need to dignify this with an explanation.
Banishment: This one just sounds funny, Jane seems like she would use this to end awkward conversations.
Merilwen (two spells up to LV 4)
Polymorph: A vast improvement on Wild Shape, not only can she turn her party members into animals (against their will if she wants) but she can turn herself into flying animals, and animals with a CR of 7, which covers literally every animal in the game bar the three with a higher Challenge Rating than that. So Merilwen can turn into a Woolly Mammoth, a Tricerotops, a Quetzelcoatlus, all sorts.
Wall of Fire: I still think this is a solid choice because of how horrifically powerful it is and how funny it would be for Merilwen to learn this.
Dob (two spells up to LV 4)
Charm Monster: Singing to a monster to pacify it will be really funny, at this point Johnny may as well not include bosses unless they have Legendary Resistances.
Hallucinatory Terrain: There’s nothing more Oxventure I could humanely think of than Dob pulling a Wile E Coyote and creating a fake bridge over a gap and watching them fall down it to their deaths.
