When is the event? 📆
This year's Johnica Week will start on Thursday 18th January and end on Sunday 21st January! For the first time the event will START on their wedding anniversary and continue throughout the weekend 🥰 But as always, don't worry if you're late! You can keep sending your contributions after the last day, these are simply indicative days to gather all together 💕

The Theme 🎁
The 49th Wedding Anniversary comes soon before the huge milestone of the 50 years together, and it's usually represented by various symbols that I added to the prompts: Zircon, Orchids, the color Purple, and luxurious gifts. The main theme of this year's event is GIFTS, the act of giving the partner something material or abstract as an act of selflessness, that can have various meanings and various reactions.
Like all the prompts, it’s up to you to follow the theme or not, consider it just as a general theme that you could build your entries around. I chose some prompts that might fit this theme, that are about gifts as physical objects or as ideas for situations or alternative worldbuildings.

Celebration: Luxury the 49th wedding anniversary is the step right before the big 50, also known as the Golden wedding. All the symbols represent the wealth of experience a couple has after being married for nearly five decades. Two people who are willing to work together and compromise and do all the things that make a marriage successful deserve to celebrate with a bit of Luxury.

Fanelli Fest 2024
Beginning on 12 April and running through 14 April, Fanelli Fest is a fandom weekend meant to celebrate the lesser known (but no lesser loved) ex-boyfriend turned dear friend, Joe Fanelli.
Where?
Here on Tumblr and also AO3! If you use other transformative works sites, such as Wattpad, you are also welcome to upload there as well! Tag @fanellifest, use the tag #FanelliFest2024, and/or add to the AO3 collection.
How?
Any fanwork medium is welcome! Write fic, post art, make a playlist of songs you think he would be listening to at the gym. Alternate Universes of any sort (i.e., modern settings, genderswaps, timeline deviations, fantasy, etc.) are allowed.
You are not required to follow the prompts! They’re there as a guideline, but feel free to branch out.
Please tag your works appropriately! Some topics—both in general and of relevance this weekend—can be heavy for people.
NSFW content is welcome, but we ask that those creating and interacting with NSFW art/writing be 18+.

Queen GenWeek 2023
Attention, Queen enthusiasts across the world: we bring to you Queen GenWeek! We decided it was high time we brought back this event so we can celebrate the enduring friendship between the members of Queen together.
When and where?
The event will take place from Thursday 15 June-Sunday 18 June. You can upload your work on Tumblr using the tag #QueenGenWeek2023 and @queengenweek us. We'll make sure to reblog all contributions with this tag to this blog for an overview! When you post your fanfiction on AO3, please add it to the Queen GenWeek 2023 collection.
What does Gen mean?
Gen, short for “general,” is a term used in fanfic communities to refer to works of fanart that are platonic: they explore bonds of friendship rather than bonds of romance. There may be some form of romance in the background, but the main focus should be on the non-romantic relationship between the characters. Gen fanart celebrates the friendship between characters.
Mind AO3's Gen tag and policies for further instructions.
With help from last year's event post, refer to this amazing resource on asexual/aromantic characters and how to give them substance! This is an ASPEC safe space and consciously inclusive.
Who and what is welcome?
Everyone who wants to celebrate the platonic friendships in and around Queen is welcome! All gen-oriented works of art are welcome, which include but are not limited to:

My entry into Johnica Week 2024, “You’re My Only One”, is here! I originally wanted to publish this on January 18 for the anniversary, but alas, I couldn’t get it done in time. 😕 So I decided to publish it on Veronica’s birthday instead! 🥰☺️
This is a oneshot fic based on the prompts “Purple”, “Surprise Gifts!”, “Handmade By the Other”, and "Oh my, this must have been expensive!"/“Nothing is expensive enough for you, my love."
18th January 1976: Veronica and John are celebrating their first wedding anniversary at home with their six-month-old son Robert, where Veronica has a big gift prepared for John, but John has an even bigger gift in store for her.

MicroFic May - A Vampire Chronicles Fandom Event
What:
Four prompts will be given each week, for all four weeks in May, starting on Sunday, May 4. The goal is to use one or more of those prompts to create short fiction for that week: drabbles, ficlets, vignettes, and short works aiming to be between 100 to 1000 words. (Though no one is going to be mad if you go a little over.)
You can post your work on Tumblr, AO3, anywhere you post fic. Please tag @vcmicroficmay and use the hashtag #vcmicroficmay to help us find your work so we can share it, and feel free to message us if you think we missed your entry!
Why:
Short fiction is great! It’s challenging to keep things short but that’s part of the fun. A limited number of words can really draw things into focus and can highlight things that might otherwise get lost. It allows writers to explore new ideas or ideas that one would not necessarily write a longer story about. It offers the chance to explore little moments and slices of life without the pressure of turning it into a longer work.
Rules:
Entries should aim to be between 100 words to 1000 words, though no one is going to be counting and it’s fine to go a little over (or under!)
Works can be inspired by The Vampire Chronicles books, the IwtV movie, the AMC show, the musical, whatever.
Late entries are great!! Creativity doesn’t work on a schedule. We appreciate your fic no matter when it appears.
You can post your work on Tumblr, AO3, or wherever you post fic and link to it from Tumblr. We will have a collection on AO3 you will be able to add your work to as well.
Please consider sharing and commenting on other people’s entries as that’s part of the fun!

We’ll post the prompts at the beginning of April to help everyone prepare and then we’ll repost the prompts for the week on every Sunday in May, starting on May 4, as a reminder.

Save Willow on Disney+
if you subscribe to Disney+, now is the time to go onto your account and write a strongly worded message about saving Willow and supporting the WGA strike!
If you haven't heard, Disney+ is removing dozens of shows/films from its platform, leaving no legal way to stream them. Check the whole list here. However, Howard (2022) was taken off the list of removals after backlash, and fans can do the same for Willow.
Instructions: go to the Disney+ home page, the upper-right side with your profile image, and click on Help. You'll be able to scroll until you see "Give Feedback". This pop-up form as shown in the image above should show up. Write what you feel in the box! while we discourage harassment, please feel to write how much Willow/The Mysterious Benedict Society/other removed shows mean to you, how much the queer rep means, etc! Emphasize that you would strongly consider cancelling your subscription if the removal is finalized.
A sample script, feel free to copy/paste and customize:
"I support the WGA strike and hope Disney and the AMPTP will make a fair deal soon that properly addresses concerns such as mini-rooms. I'm additionally concerned that streaming libraries are removing content so quickly and leaving no legal way to watch shows like Willow. Because I cannot support such unfair practices, I would strongly consider cancelling my D+ account and encouraging others I know to cancel their accounts unless these decisions are reversed."
