So we got the first natural X-Antibody carrier in possibly two decades and it debuts the same night that Ghost Games gives us a heroic Quartzmon.

Quartzmon isn’t really a bad Digimon either, it’s protecting a bunch of baby Digimon. (Albeit at a human cost. It has a lot of babies in its body, and this is stemming from desperation since it was just sudden;y thrust into the human world.)

Mirrormon Level: Perfect (Ultimate) Attribute: Vaccine
A Mutation Digimon with the appearance of a looking glass. Its lustrous body, which reflects back all malicious data, allows it to stay a Vaccine-type in spite of all the Virus-type Digimon it has absorbed. It hunts them down devoid of any emotion, purely driven by its instinct to purge and consume. Its reflection shows the worst aspects of things, magnifying and twisting them, so only the most virtuous paragons of righteousness will see their image unchanged on its surface. Though it is often used by holy Digimon as a security device, it will sometimes join particularly powerful Virus-type Digimon to slowly feed off their negative energy, influencing their minds and driving them further into darkness until it completely purges them out of existence. Its Special Moves are trapping the opponent inside its reflection, where their data is broken down and neutralized ("Quarantine Capture") and reflecting the enemy's attacks back at them ("Divine Symmetry"). Suggested pre-evolved forms: Mimicmon, Mercuremon, D'Arcmon, Nefertimon, Bushkamon, Maildramon, Soulmon, Clockmon, Mechanorimon
Suggested evolved forms: AncientWisemon, Enchantmon, Ophanimon, Ophanimon Falldown Mode, BlackSeraphimon, Lampmon, HolyDigitamamon, LordKnightmon, Quartzmon

So heeey, this had been my idea since day one, back in 2012. In the AU Ryouma would be like… Erm, this thing. I apologize for making it creepy but… this kind of light/soft body horror is okayish for me.
(also i like masked villains and heroes since i was a kid… or else i’d not have had a wild crush on toku heroes and… AHEM… Medabots’ Phantom Renegade (Henry/Hikaru), which is the insp for Daisuke’s role.)
Ryouma and Psychemon/Astamon, alongside Ren and Airu (+ their mons) were recruited by Bagramon to investigate Quartzmon, but it ended with Quartzmon corrupting Ryouma once they found it. Like i said before in the previous posts about the AU, Quartzmon is a parasite. Not only did he corrupt Pseychemon, but he also managed to take control over Ryouma’s body and then turn him into this… thing.
Quartzmon changes Ryouma’s body and mind, and also in the DigiQuartz/Digital World he gains this very… creepy appearance (don’t worry, it’s a mask and a hood, nothing terrifying i swear)
Also, he refers to himself by "Quartz-kid."
Bagramon does know Ryouma is the host, but he does not know how to catch him, because he kept getting away. Also, the DigiQuartz is his ‘habitat’ so… Bagramon decided to just focus on recruiting people to combat the digimon running amok, and trying to find the mysterious 7th hero who inherited the will and power from the previous heroes from the Legend.

Something i just recently thought about is the watchmakers remark that 'he will be looking for his brother' which implies axeknightmon might also be somewhere in the human world, bagramon turned over a new leaf but do you think axeknightmon is willing to do so aswell?
Also i realised that quartzmon shares quite a few similiarities with the big bad of Tamers in both design and parts of their whole plan do you think thats coincidence?
Lastly; i hope youre doing well shiha and thank you for being a part of this fandom!
Re: AxeKnightmon, I don't see why not; after all, if even Bagramon was willing, it seems a lot of things are possible. (That's assuming he really is Bagramon. I know we all agree he probably is, but that technically has not been confirmed.)
Re: Quartzmon, I'm not really sure, but it is worth mentioning that Hunters shares a director with Tamers (Kaizawa Yukio), and I think that's why there's a high likelihood of similar stylistic elements simply being part of his style rather than necessarily being due to either series specifically. Personally, I've always figured that the OP ending with all of the Hunters in a shot similar to the Tamers one was probably because of this, since Kaizawa was infamously the one who came up with that shot and stuck Shaochung in there on a whim.
Of course, Xros Wars was made with enough consciousness of older series that it could be a deliberate allusion as well, not even necessarily in a fanservice sense, but the fact Hunters had older Digimon staff on it who likely would have been in the mood to re-invoke what they did in the past. Especially with both Kaizawa and Kakudou involved; they're both openly proud of their work on Digimon, so of course they'd probably enjoy calling back to things they did before (if you were in their position, wouldn't you?).
Finally, thank you! I'm doing well, or at least as much as I can; work has actually intensified to more than pre-pandemic levels, so it's hard for me to commit to this blog the way I used to, and I fear that if I do end up doing 02TB coverage, it won't be extensive in the way I used to do things simply because I won't have time. But I like keeping up, and I like sticking around, and besides, you guys are cool. I'm doing this because it's fun for me, too~

Ghost Game saying the Digital World is gone while the protagonists weren’t even aware there was a problem they should try to solve is in-universe a pretty big failure for a Digimon team.
Thinking of other seasons, what would you say are the biggest failures of the other protagonist teams? Only from an in-universe perspective- we can’t hold things against characters that they had no way of knowing or blame them for being poorly written.
First off I'd push back on the idea that Hiro and company are at fault for not being aware of the Digital World's apparent demise. The lack of information they were getting from Hokuto and the dubious trustworthiness of the Digimon they were encountering made it near impossible to know the nature of the situation. I'll fault them for not doing more pre-emptive damage control since it was pretty clear there was a crisis, but I don't blame them for not knowing what it was.
I'm not going season by season on each team's biggest failures since some situations make it hard to fault the kids for any of their failings. In Adventure (and to some extent Tamers), they're dealing with everything as it comes up and don't have much room to manipulative things in their favor. With Xros Wars and Adventure: they don't screw up often enough to criticize the entire group. I'm also just barely giving Savers a pass for letting Kurata become as much of a problem as he is, but only because there were bureaucratic influences preventing them from socking him in the face the moment he first entered the room. So here's a rough top five:
Zero Two- Allowing the Holy Stones' Destruction
This one just barely makes the list because they catch up quickly and put a good effort into trying to stop it, but fact is it was pretty important and they stared down defeat after defeat. Not a good look.
Hunters- Taiki's Passivity
Similar to my criticism of Hiro, Taiki had a unique role in the Hunt and could have used it to explore what was going on, try to get some answers, and maybe leave everybody less flat-footed once Quartzmon's plans started. He knew how weird the situation was and he just sort of casually rolled with it.
tri.- Assuming Meicoomon Could Survive
Honorable mention for assuming the 02 kids were all right, but that ultimately wasn't as pivotal as assuming there was a path out of this mess that kept Meicoomon alive. That blind faith, which grew more doubtful every minute, led Meiko to make some bad choices and the whole team to commit costly mistakes that made everything worse.
Frontier- Allowing Lucemon's Revival
Honestly the Frontier kids could probably fill out all five slots, but the big one was the lack of strategic foresight against the Royal Knights. If their goal was to seize the code from every region of the Digital World, there were better tactics available than just trying to defend every territory.
Appmon- L-Corp
The massive corporation with its fingers in literally everything, especially concerning AI, has a logo suspiciously resembling the main enemy... and the connection had to be spelled out for them? When you think about how quickly they used that connection to their benefit once they learned about it, imagine what they could have done if they'd pieced it together on their own.
