I recently illustrated a memo game "Endangered Animal Babies" for Treecer. This memo game contains 72 unique illustrations and 36 endangered animal species. Each pair consists of the parent and the baby animal and all the illustrations were done in watercolor.
I'm really grateful for this opportunity and very happy with the outcome of the game! The game is sold by WWF Finland and Treecer at the moment.

9. Two-faced solar panels can generate more power at up to 70% less cost
“Scientists at the University of Surrey have built a new kind of solar panel with two faces, both of them pretty. Their flexible perovskite panels have electrodes made of tiny carbon nanotubes. These can generate more power with greater efficiency and at a cost 70% lower than existing solar panels.”
10. It's a boy! Athens zoo welcomes birth of rare pygmy hippo
“A rare and endangered pygmy hippopotamus has been born in Athens’ Attica Zoological Park for the first time in 10 years, delighting conservationists. A lack of male pygmy hippos in captivity had complicated breeding efforts, so zoo staff were “absolutely thrilled” the baby was a boy”

I mostly filmed, so here are the few random photos I got from around the zoo. Going earlier in the day (10~11 AM) was great for some animals (notably the red panda, the tiger, the lions), and a bit more of a bust for others (my faves 😢 - the pygmy hippos, the sloths), but at least we had some sun 🌞

Animal of the Day!
Pygmy Hippopotamus (Choeropsis liberiensis)

Conservation Status- Endangered
Habitat- Western Africa
Size (Weight/Length)- 275 kg; 1.7 m
Diet- Leaves; Roots; Fruit
Cool Facts- Pygmy hippopotamus are nearly ¾ smaller than their much larger, common cousins. Pygmy hippos live in small groups, often times a male and female with a young calf. They are relatively docile and fights are rare even when two groups interact. Spending their days submerged in water, during the night they travel on land to search for leaves and fruits to gorge on for up to six hours a night. When born, baby hippos can swim immediately. Due to their short stature and large heads, mother pygmy hippos must lay on their side for their baby to nurse. Due to efforts of zoos and protected land, pygmy hippos may be making a come back from years of deforestation and illegal hunting.
Rating- 11/10 (Think hippo, but small.)
