Hello, I initially wanted to do this to celebrate some kind of milestone of mine but I have none of them in sight and I got the inspiration for this earlier this afternoon, so, here we are.
My memory is not the best and I tried to research stuff through my blog but I already know that I have forgotten people and I obviously don't know about everyone here, no matter how small motogpblr may seems to be, so, my apologies.

I’ve been thinking a lot about how Spider felt when he hit puberty and started growing facial hair, making him even more different to the Na’vi. I wonder if he hated it.
Also the inherent tenderness of a boy trusting someone else enough to help him shave for the first time… something about it makes my chest hurt. I really tried to capture it in Foreign Body but there’s so much more that I wish I’d left space for.

Akata appreciation post and manga haul 📚
I didn't buy all of them at once but I did buy them pretty recently
Love Mix-Up is almost over in France, only 2 volumes left! And I started buying Boys Run the Riot because I realised I could spend my money now, especially on stuff I really loved reading digitally
Once again, Akata is THE manga publisher to me, they're always coming out with amazing titles, a lot of them with queer themes and storylines. They're even going to publish She Loves to Cook, She Loves to Eat (my review here) in France, which is amazing. Even when their titles aren't queer, they're amazing: Night view on the Factory was just zjfjzuej (look up the TW though). They're a small but passionate team and it really shows that they love what they're doing

Absolutely fell in love with the art and then the story punched me in the guts in the best way. The characters are complex and while they may not be entirely lovable, they are wholly human. And I really loved that

Oddly feels more out of shape than his VUX body (lol)#With how much he's gone through even without literally being older he's definitely ages years in such a short time#Especially to be younger than his DAX-equivalent that'd have to feel weird#Has difficulty saying ''me'' when referring to the body he's in :(#Just one more oddity of this human experience

"how's your pet project going ren" well i've been spamming someone's DMs continuously for the past six hours with a real-time look into my thought process as i take another deep dive into the resident evil wiki. yes it's really been six hours and actually,, this time i've managed to dig up something genuinely useful and possibly patch up a bunch of plot holes in my own fanon timeline. work resumes as normal

idk I think if more people saw the gay vampire show as closer in essence to iasip rather than something like the gay pirate show, we'd be having more effective conversations about the direction of the current season or sumn

Something that scares me in contracts is, "We can do whatever we want with your story/idea, and publish it any way we see fit in any format existing and in future existence from here on in perpetuity without compensating you for any of it. Ever."
This sounds like, "Yeah, we like the idea, but we don't want to pay you. You sent it to us willingly, so thanks for the free content! Now go away."
Trident Media's contract is giving off these major vibes.
I've had my work stolen before, because I trusted the publisher to take a chance on me. They just wanted free content.
This is why as an audiobook narrator for ACX, someone posting their entire manuscript as an "audition script" is a major red flag. They can say 'no' to you, then turn around and use your work anyway, because audition submissions still have to follow ACX's stringent production guidelines.
As the author and creator, all rights remain with me and my family in perpetuity in any way, shape, or form. I get final say in anything involving my work. If I die, then my family gets final say.
I want my novel - my baby, my heart and soul - to be published, but I just can't trust a company due to my work being stolen from a more naive Me before.
I won't hand over my idea for someone to steal and have them point to the contract saying, "Our statement of theft is right here. It's not our fault if you didn't understand it. You don't have a leg to stand on. Now piss off."
I wanted to submit my story idea to Trident via Prose, but I'm not giving anyone any permission to do anything with my work unless I am directly involved, and I am compensated, and receive residuals for printings.
I want to find a literary agent to help me navigate this field, but so far, no one wants to take a chance on a new author. It's impossible to be published traditionally. It's been impossible since I started trying in the mid 00's.
New authors are a risk. And agents don't want to take risks.
It sucks.
For all writers, as soon as you write anything down - digital, or on paper - and there's a date, your idea is automatically copyright protected to you.
This is why it's extremely important to have a paper trail when you send anything out into the world.
Logging in my work digitally gives me those crucial dates and proof. Anything you put on Wattpad, or AO3, or fictionpress or fanfiction net are copyright protected.
If you are truly concerned - like I am with "Out There: The 1K," you can register your work with the Writers Guild or the Library of Congress. It can protect you from copyright infringement.

I love Christian books written by lunatics where they're like "only Christianity can save America from racism" girl u mean the religion that was used to enforce and uphold slavery for generations in the us and other colonized countries??

Now let me give you the summary of what this book is about.
Sayaka, a headstrong, somewhat impulsive woman, along with Rigby, an odd snobbish talkative little girl, are on the run after being kidnapped by a murder cult. The two have been taken to a dangerous, isolated island called Own’and, which is populated by a fractured and divided organization of people who have all come to this island for their own reasons. As far as the two know, there is nothing mystical about the land, but the place seems to indirectly attract a certain breed of people, carrying a degree of emotional baggage, that drags people away from the outside world; and in a way, has now lured and trapped these two victims. Now, Sayaka and Rigby, with some help from new friends, must put aside their differences and work together in order to navigate the island and survive long enough find a way to get back to escape from this place.

#once again oh boy do i regret sorta-accepting this#because yeah it was a light at the end of the tunnel back when i had no career prospect at all#but now that i'm actually on track to actually have that damn high school diploma#and i have roughly two years of leeway and the proper infrastructure to build myself a career project#i'm... not happy about it#the boss is passing the company along because he's too overworked to do anything with it#which makes it so the formation i receive is ''to work with me you gotta be independant'' and jack shit#i'm already mostly overwhelmed by living my life as normal#i don't need a fucking company to run to add on top of that#i guess i should ask for a ''day in the life'' type of explanation but it's so difficult to get a hold of him#and he's... i don't know if it's my fault for not being assertive enough or if he's genuinely abrasive#but he's not very easy to ask questions to#cf ''you gotta be independant to work with me'' quoted abive#and i don't even WORK there holy fuck i don't!!#i'm just a convenient young person who isn't gonna retire/die in five to twenty years who can perpetuate the company or smth#like i get a small publishing house isn't a business that's running all working day long in a big warehouse that you can observe#but all the things HE does which are the thing that will be MY responsability are done half the fucking country away from me#we have a zoom meeting every three months#that's straight up not enough i am wholly unprepared for this job#can't wait to legally own the parts next tax year 🤪#broadcasting my misery#vent
