Massive protest in Buenos Aires against severe budget cuts for free public universities. People sing "And now you see, and now you see, those who don't jump voted for Milei".

#i didn't take the best video #but i hope it's clear that this agglomeration I recorded here was not even close to the entirety of the people gathered up to protest #it was so massive you couldn't get to the plaza where the protest was meant to culminate #because there was so much people it was entirely occupied and it was physically impossible to advance #the subways were filled to the brim in both directions and you had to stand in line to use them. which NEVER happens #people who you could never even concieve of going to a protest were there. people ideologically opposed to protests were going.#people of all different political leanings were singing their own songs and suddenly united singing our national anthem in unison #you do NOT fuck with our public education. universidad gratuita pública laica y federal.#on a tangentially related note #there were basically no reports of repression even though they had been going crazy with police brutality in all the previous protests.#i think it's bc there literally weren't enough cops to handle this amount of people #a revolution is sounding reeeeeeally appealing right about now

I knew we were gonna get Dune programs next season but there’s already three announced and we’re only in April 😭

#danny phantom #dpau #reallybaddpau #is this me calling out the peruvian bus system??? maybe #listen #riding the bus in cusco is:#ok i know where i need to go let me look up which bus route gets me closest #oh wait actually this isn't public transportation technically because its all privately owned so routes aren't online #ok.#so you go to the nearest bus stop #the buses come by. places that are on their routes are painted on the side of the buses #if you go by plaza tupac amaru by way of avenida el sol is that close to where you need to go?#whoops! in the time it has taken you to read the route the bus has already left #ok so you've figured out which bus to take #its called batman and its yellow #you see one approaching #but oops you didn't wave it down and it didn't see you #so it doesn't stop #ok #there's another one coming #you flag it down #you get on #the instant your foot leaves the pavement the bus starts again. you tumbled forward slightly #the bus does not stop at every stop #it may or may not even announce when it is approaching a stop #you have to look out the window and know when your stop #is #and then you realize its next and say BAJA BAJA #and hope they hear you #so you can pay and get off

Where I “live” it’s tourist season so the town is always super busy and crowded and they don’t know the roads / care so they either go super slow on certain roads (which makes people like my mom who goes 60mph at them angry) or they almost hit me while I’m walking cuz they’re going 1000mph in town

#also the people who bought the plaza are trying to put local stores out of business like the pharmacy and my moms work etc #most places here are small family owned till the gas station etc was sold around pandemic starting time #they’ve already increased the prices an insane amount and took away the public bathrooms and showers that are there and not at the park #(there’s no showers at the park)#the laundromats prices now are also insane compared to what they used to be
