It’s so hard to love in this time together with you
My heart is on fire but my body’s cold
It’s so hard to love ya, it’s so hard to love

OK so now that I’m completely done sulking over the fact that One’s VIP tickets sold out in LITERALLY a minute, I finally bought my GA ticket!
I mean the venue is super small anyway, and if the VIP tickets sold out THAT quick, it’s because there weren’t that many of them. So if I get there at a respectable time, I should be able to be really close to the front.

ONE - Instinct
Ok i won’t rank the songs - this one is definitely a fav too.
- it is dominated by guitars, produced by saintleonard_, who i don’t know but seems to be a guitarist (?) which is super cool. i really love the guitar parts. they’re influenced by different rock styles and a mix of everything that made my teenage years fucking great so yeah.
- the beat is a classic hiphop clap (dunno the name lol) which surprisingly fits well
- the bass is heavy and a little distorted. it’s not played by a bass guitar but still gives the song a heavy vibe
- the singing! i think it’s ok not to call this rap. in some parts i was sure it is sik-k and he must be featuring but he’s not lol. some parts sound like 90% sik-k’s voice so there’s definitely an influence. that style is popular now ok. and it does sound good. nevertheless copying that much is a bit of a flaw.
- the lyrics. i’d love to say something but they’re nowhere to be found yet so i have no idea :D
- the sound overall: the guitar and singing have a hall effect which makes it sound live but the bass is nice and comfy so it’s all in one so it really has everything without sounding weird or anything
i’d recommend it to everybody no matter what music you like. despite the singing, the style/genre(?) is still new and deserves a chance. if you’ve followed ONE, you know this is definitely his own style and he’s not trying to do or be something he’s not (for anyone looking for authenticity, here you got it).
also, ONE is finally able to make music indepently after being signed at labels that did nothing for him most of his musically active life. starting your own label from only a tiny bit of popularity that is years old and nothing else is a risk and brave so pls support :) :)

K-Pop Spotlight: One
This week, we’re highlighting South Korean rapper and actor One. Formerly one half of hop-hop duo 1Punch, he later founded his own independent label, Private Only, and made his solo debut in 2017. After appearing on dramas like A Korean Odyssey and Her Private Life, One is back with his latest album PRVT01 and new single Hard to Love. We caught up with the songwriter to discuss his creative process, passions, and more!
Tell us about Hard to Love and what you hope people take away from it.
I think in this day and age it's hard to love in a truthful and meaningful way. I hope this song can be a comfort to those who are experiencing this difficult love. It's also a song that I wrote to comfort myself.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Be more honest with yourself.
Outside of music, what are you most passionate about?
Film and fashion. I think just because those two are tied inextricably to music and I always think of movies and fashion when I make music.
What influences your overall aesthetic—from your music to your style to your fashion sense?
I think youth, this generation of young people and my peers influence me the most. I think since I live as a part of this generation, we are all a reflection of each other, and our collective and individual identities inspire me.
In your opinion, what’s the most interesting thing about you that people may not know?
Some people may not know that I actually paint and draw. On my bucket list is to have an exhibition featuring works that I've painted or drawn.
Who impacts your creative process? Has this process changed for you since your previous work?
My people in Private Only and my fans. If anything, it's that now I feel like I know myself better. When I released my previous work I didn't really know who I was. Now I think I have a better understanding of who I am. I also realized that it's most important for me to have fun and enjoy this process, and I think that energy and mindset translates over to those who listen.
Lightning round! Describe each of the following in one word: Who you are, what you value the most, and what you’d be if you were a food item.
Who I am: Son.
What I value the most: Honesty
What I'd be if I was a food item: Coca-cola
