third person pov, spoiler free, read under cut <3
in a field of daisies, there were two childhood friends. they met in middle school, as two people who struggle with their identity do.
she had brown hair, cropped to the shoulders she tiredly bore. when she had the energy, she would pull three strands of the mess of hair to braid them. this braid usually fell to the left side. people would say it felt on the right side, which she had to correct in order to get things straight. she was always correcting things. but she doesn’t want to admit that.
lying next to her was, simply, her.
her hair was a bubblegum pink, tied in twin tails with yellow bows her mom may have made for her. who knows? but her soft pink eyes always managed to grasp the attention of everyone around her. these eyes her face perfectly bore were just…breathtaking.
they both had the same fashion sense, the same (no, similar, she could never compare to her,) personality, but dreams they had clashed against against one another non-rhythmically.
she wanted to be an artist, pursing drawing and painting more than ever. and she had a younger brother. it was true that he sucked, but not as much as their dad. she vowed, inwardly, to be better than her dad as an artist and as a person.
the house that her family lived in was nothing less than chaotic. her youngest sibling was one tiny one, who also aspired to be an idol just like her “favorite big sis!” jesus, her younger sister didn’t know how many sacrifices herself would make to get there, just like how her mind was like back then.
in a field of daisies, she confessed her love for her.
it was a warm spring day. the warmth couldn’t compare to how warm (and pink!) her cheeks were. and guess what?
she thought that her immediate reaction would be to leave her, like everyone else she had loved before.
if only she knew, her love for ena would never fade away.
daisies die, but airi would love the artist ‘till the end of time.
