It's already so tragic that Holmes and Watson get separated for three years in the original stories and then dgs was like alright well we're gonna make it ten and make them both single dads. So. I'm sure they're fine.

there are many valid reasons to like genklint/genklimt (the tragedy, the inherent homoeroticism of a duel to the death, etc, etc) but by FAR the funniest is the psychic damage kazuma and barok go through as a result. unsure if it's funnier pre- or post- 2-5 but my GOD. the sheer soap opera energy of the asougi and van zieks families

pre 2-5 it's kazuma pacing in the prosecutor's office staring at klint's portrait like it's personally offended him (it has.) and it's barok acting similarly to canon with an extra layer of How Could I Have Been So Deceived. and post 2-5 it's kazuma and barok awkwardly coexisting in the office still not over their decade-long enemies arc DESPERATELY trying to ignore the (other) elephant in the room. at some point sholmes come in to check to make sure they haven't killed each other and says something about how genshin and klint were "very close (wink)" dealing 4d8 psychic damage

Hey, remember that No Professor AU that I started several months back? Well, I haven't forgotten it, and I've finally finished up the adaptation of McGilded's trial. Here's a little sneak-peak below.

“Give me a moment,” Kazuma said. “I want to check something.”

Ryuunosuke and Susato exchanged a confused glance, hovering a few steps from him.

Sure enough, after a few seconds, Gina Lestrade came slinking out of the defendant’s antechamber, tugging the brim of her hat down to hide her face. She kept her head down, so she didn’t see him leaning against the nearby wall. Taking a step toward her, he said, “Well, it seems we meet again, Miss Lestrade. Though I don’t believe I had the pleasure of learning your name before you shot me in the face with a smoke grenade yesterday.”

im fine im totally fine and also normal (i am going to spend the next week comparing the details of the original hound of the baskervilles to what we know about the professor case in dgs to try and build up some specifics in my head about what happened during that time in dgs. WHETHER I LIKE IT OR NOT)

#ok but like its really funny ok #i specifically remember mikotoba has some dialogue saying that iris figured out a lot of details of the case #even though she only had a few notes to go on. so this means her manuscript included a lot of things accurate to what really happened #and we should generally assume in dgs that iris’s stories are largely the same as the acd originals. thats largely the implication #and its the simplest thing to work with #but hound of the baskervilles & the professor case are WILDLY WILDLY DIFFERENT EVEN FROM THE BASIC PREMISE #they have almost NOTHING in common #therefore implying that it’s all the somewhat smaller details of the story -#stuff that wouldnt have been mentioned at all in DGS; stuff too irrelevant to ever get brought up -#that went Virtually The Same in DGS.#this is really interesting TO ME ok.#wake up babes monty melteveryone is building a new pepe silvia board #against zir will.#basilposting
