The Reluctant Princess

Based on The Reluctant Bride 1866 by Auguste Toulmouche✨ a friend of mine suggested this prompt, and really popped off with this concept. The saddest part sleeping beauty is when her godmother‘s take her to the castle and prepare her to be a princess. They try to reassure her but she has just been stripped of her identity and agency. She never wanted to be a princess. So I have Flora, giving her a reassuring kiss on the forehead, Fauna imagining out loud what it would be like to be a princess, and Merryweather is the only one who actually sees Briar Rose’s sorrows and inner turmoil. I also added another master copy as a tapestry, (an illustration of Maleficent by Eyvind Earle) and it hangs quite literally over Aurora and adds an extra layer of foreboding.🖤 I stayed up till four in the morning working on this.🤠😂 It took me 13 hours total to finish it.

Aurora, the Dark Ruler

Yet another part of the fanfiction on the work. More info:

She was a kind princess, but after the loss of her dear prince Phillip, she began to sink deeper and deeper into a spiral of sadness and false hope that he would one day come back, with that hope still standing, she sought aid from the Queen of Bones, asking her if her Phillip might still be alive. The Queen said he was alive, but that he wouldn’t come back home. “Why?” Aurora asked and the Queen stood silent, for even she was unsure of his fate. Unsatisfied with the visit, she sent several soldiers after him, they found traces of him in the battlefield. But nothing else of the prince. Angered, she stormed to the Queen’s castle demanding answers, the Queen gave her answers, but it did not satisfy her. She then decided to take over the power that once harmed her. In hopes of one day finding her prince. But that power corrupted her. The once kind princess became a ruler of the dark creatures. Above, the last record of her before becoming the Dark Ruler.
