Hi again, thank you guys so much for the amazing support on my last post!! And I hope this post also lives up to your guy's expectations.

Word Count: 2.1k (and somehow 11k characters?! TuT)

-----Younger Armin ( Bowl Cut ) -----

Armin wasn't exactly the most social type back then, so I imagine for you two to get close enough to date you must have spent quite a bit of time together.

I can think of a few ways you two may have met and gotten close. Maybe you guys sat next to each other in classes, were sparring partners, or maybe you were there for Armin all the times Mikasa and Eren seemed to have forgotten he was also a part of their friend group.

It had been just a few minutes after lights out when Sasha shook me out of bed and yelled whispered for me to grab my coat and follow her. By the time we were out of the cabin a few of the other girls had gotten up and were grabbing a few items. Sasha led our small group until we reached a clearing in the forest, a good distance from the bases. "Sasha, what's all this?" I asked her as the rest of our group ran over to their own friends. "It's a party, Duh." She said looking at me with a goofy smile until Connie yelled for her to come help him roll a joint. I watched her run off and then made my way to a group of my classmates sitting in a circle. Jean, Ymir, Eren, Mikasa, and Armin Arlet all sat around a small bonfire. Spewing out a few 'hey's and 'hello's before claiming a seat in the circle. Jean and Ymir were in some argument over brunettes or blondes being cuter, and next to them Eren sat trying to carve a spoon out of a small log. Mikasa and Armin were talking about something I couldn't really make out over the sound of the fire crackling and Jean and Ymir arguing. As I watched the fire crackle all I had on my mind was why the hell Sasha had brought me along. It's not like I'm antisocial but I hadn't really established many close friends and the ones I had were human meatballs now. So a party wasn't the most comfortable place to hang out. Before I could continue my thoughts I got distracted by Mikasa getting up pretty abruptly and running after Eren who had somehow broken the log he was carving and wanted to look for a new one. Doubt we'd see them again tonight. My eyes flicked over to Armin and as we looked at each other, a mirror of slight shock reflected on both our faces. Before either pf us could look away I burst into laughter at Mikasa's weird behavior and Armin just stared at me even more confused than before. "I'm sorry it's just I never see anyone so serious act like that, I'm not trying to be rude she just catches me off guard," I tell him, feeling like he may have kinda misunderstood me. A shy smile pulls on his lips as he looks back at me. "Yea it is kinda odd isn't it?"

And that's where your friendship bloomed from. A right place and right time you could say. Though Sasha says it's all thanks to her.

Over time the two of you became really close. While Armin read you'd sit near him fiddling with your own hobbies. Sometimes you'd get caught up in him and end up spending a few moments watching him while his eyes scoured over dusty pages.

Armin was such a sweet friend, always asking how you are, being there to talk, explaining the stuff you don't understand from class to you a million times until you understand.

And once again you both were at a party when your guy's relationship finally takes the next step.

Through a stupid game of truth or dare...

Sasha scans over each and every one of us as she carefully picks her victim. "Jean!" She exclaims and Jean looks at her with an annoyed expression. Sasha and Connie have been picking on him all night, each time either giving him the truth of exposing his crush on Mikasa or the dare of letting them draw on his face. This time was no different as Sasha added a small horse on his forehead that would definitely not be gone by tomorrow. After Sasha got done we all burst out laughing. "Hey!" Jean yelled, "It's my turn alright so shut it!" And of course, I had responded to him with a snarky "Okay, Horse face" Jean turned to me with a sarcastic smile and asked me truth or dare. "Dare" I chose nervously. Jean turns to Connie and they start to whisper between themselves before Jean turns to me with a smirk plastered on his face.

"Kiss Armin."

So now here you and Armin were. At first, he'd be kinda shy about y'all's relationship but I could see you bringing out a more confident side of him.

He would be the type to remember all the little anniversaries, picking you a small bouquet for your first month.

Now I can't see him being great at making gifts but he would try his hardest!

Would definitely choose you as his partner for almost all group activities. Don't think that means he's gonna let you do no work, oh no no no. This man would rather teach you it a million times than let you get by being ignorant. (Sees this as an act of service kinda love lol) Told you before with the most serious face that " Knowledge was the greatest currency he knew"

Speaking of acts of service, that and praise is probably his love language. Of course, he would love holding your hand, a little bit of cuddling, or a few pecks on the cheek. But when he wants to show his love for you he'd tell you what he's thinking and just genuinely spend a lot of time with you.

I can't see him being big on any forms of PDA, except hand-holding. Hear me out though, I think he'd be the type to hold pinkies instead though.

I could see him writing you hundreds of love letters he'd never give to you but be too scared to get rid of them in case someone else (Jean and Connie) read them, or God forbid you saw them.

He would swap books with you if you were an avid reader. ( Would want for you guys to make matching bookmarks as a kinda of date!! )

But if you were more of a sporty type then he'd definitely love to watch you play, even if he cares nothing for the game itself. Maybe even give you some pointers he noticed or help you strategize. After watching you for awhile he would be able to go on like hour-long rants breaking down each and every little detail and rule of the game and way overthinking it.

Now if you guys for whatever have a fight he'd be quick to apologize because he'd never want you mad at him. (Still believes he's right though, just won't tell you that )

Definitely has a few red flags and will work on some of them.

When he's struggling with all the things going on with Eren, one of his main stress relievers would be you playing with his hair, tracing your nails against his scalp.

If you ask realllllyyyy nicely he just might let you braid his hair or tie it up. Even though he knows he won't hear the end of it from the others.

Surprised you a few times with flower rings he made for you.

I could see him being really involved in the wedding planning. If it was up to him either a light purple or sea blue color theme.

In a more modern au, I could see him offering to paint your nails for you if you ever complain about it being able to get them done. He would spend hours trying to perfect it and maybe it didn't match the reference perfectly but they were perfect to you ♡

(These are less relationship-focused and more so things I think about Armin )

Struggles so much with Eren always doing everything so rashly and getting into trouble that he never lets anyone help with it. I feel like he may have had a fear of being replaced or left behind by Eren and Mikasa because he isn't as strong as them.

Just someone tell him he's making the right choices and that he can't make everything right. He needs to hear that.

Jean and him are really close and hang out a lot. Jean is a way more chill and less stressful friendship for Armin compared to half of his other friendships. I can see Armin feeling like he needs to be a therapist friend for everyone, outside of just Eren and Mikasa too, big people pleaser.

Jean just really knows how to chill and not ask a lot of Armin, of course they've talked about heavy stuff before but it's a lot more talking from both of them rather than Armin needing to comfort the other person. Every once in awhile Jean actually is the therapist for Armin.

He does grow out of that though. Starts to become a lot more set in reality after seeing all the deaths in the recon missions. Some meaningless little drama isn't something he needs to focus on helping a fellow cadet out with. Still holds onto some of his people-pleasing tendencies but has figured out a lot of his priorities in his personal life.

I think Armin truly believed that fighting those bullies back in his childhood wouldn't have been the right choice and wasn't just because he was weaker.

I could see him knowing how to play a ton of card games that he learned from his grandpa.

I also think at one point he learned how to sew from Eren's mom. Eren would tease him by saying things about how he's "finally fitting into his girly hair" Then when he actually tries it and sees how hard it is and how much better Armin was he quits the teasing comments.

I think Armin has a lot of trust issues in almost everyone after figuring out Annie was a traitor. To him, they seemed pretty close and had a good understanding of each other. But Annie's betrayal really shattered some of his innocence and trust in the world.

One time he told Connie that if he walked around barefoot he could get flesh-eating worms. Connie was a bit more than traumatized by that information.

As sweet as Armin seems he is honestly so manipulative. It can hardly be noticed by anyone except maybe Commander Erwin or Levi but Armin's a bit too smart to try it on them. He accidentally tried to manipulate Commander Erwin one day over something small and when Erwin subtly commented on it he almost died of shock.

I could see Armin having a lot of respect for his superiors but not being the type to follow them blindly. Like the smart kid who isn't afraid to correct the teacher. And yes he was that type of student, to an annoying extent.

Armin as a student mostly just studied the material he was being tested on to a point where he was confident he knew it. And then would dig extremely deep into any topics that interest him. He knew every type of rock that existed inside the walls but couldn't remember his 12 multiple facts.

He definitely isn't antisocial or introverted. A little shy, yes, but mainly he's just a extrovert or ambivert who's not very loud. In no way has he ever been afraid of talking to people or making his thoughts known.

Speaking of talking to people, him and Hange are total geek besties. The spent hours looking at the hardened titan skin fragment and theorizing on all sorts of topics

I think when he was younger he saw a really huge pond and thought he had some how found the ocean inside the walls.

Probably would spend days going on picnics with his parents and reading in flower fields before the wall break. Once tried to bring Eren and Mikasa on one and never got any reading done.

This man's library card would be personalized in his favorite color (sea blue) and bedazzled.

I could see Armin being a really big Jazz and blue grass guy. Mostly because it's non-lyrical and doesn't tend to distract him as easily.

Would bust down to some Megan thee stallion and nasty redd. I mean, look at that stance-

Sorry to all those hoping for older Armin, I STILL haven't watched season 3/4 of AoT so I don't really have too many thoughts on older Armin other than that ma is SOOO FINEE Soon enough I'll write for him, and yes there will be another poll for writings posted after this post!! I like when you guys interact with the story's makes it feel really personal. And thank you again to everyone who liked and reposted my last post!! It did so much better than I ever expected. Tezos Goes Big

I really didn’t want to write this, I swear. I have real work to do, podcasts to edit and my daughter is home sick; but, it’s like holding in a sneeze, when I have something to say it’s best to get it out.

This is not about the @tezos event at Art Basel Miami. It may be what is driving the conversation but this is not really about the displays in a lobby of a hotel.

This is the culmination of years of disrespect to a driving force of adoption and endemic of the crypto space (and society) at large.

Art rejuvenating dead space is not a novel concept. In fact, in Miami, there’s an entire area that could have been used as a template by all blockchains. It’s called Wynnewood, look it up and you’ll get the New York Times article I reference all the time.

What was once an industrial park became a hub for restaurants, music and entertainment: culture.

Why? Because some graffiti artists began painting on the cold gray walls of a concrete jungle.

Did those artists share any of the financial gain brought to the neighborhood? No, but think of the exposure!

Web3 was not built by nor built for creatives like us (yea, I’m putting myself in that group, shut up about it). It was built by boys and men that look, talk and act like me (white, male, presumable douchey based on appearance) but lack a moral and emotional foundation.

They use the right words, have picked up key phrases and platitudes, but at the core it’s not about the things many of us value. It’s not about art.

It’s not about a reorganization of institutions that were built to keep specific classes, races and sexes subservient.

It is not building a utopian-Marxist future where the moral and decent are rewarded financially for their collective effort.

Look at the state of streaming services: Netflix, Hulu, Paramount, Peacock, Max. What was once meant to disrupt the cable industry has now become Cable Networks 2.0.

The same is true in crypto. What started as a revolution has become a hype parade led by influencers masquerading as cultural relevance.

Remember the @TezosFoundation Permanent Collection drama? In a Twitter space shortly after things began to spiral downward, one of the leads made a comment on the criticisms, “if this is the response maybe we won’t do this again.”

We all knew it then.

But many of us came here to create something better. So we, many of them my friends, gave second chances, put a positive spin on it and took their opportunity when it was offered.

I was jealous.

Because I would have done the same.

UNDRGRND is just me: a stay at home dad, taking care of a toddler who disrupts the means of production constantly. I know how hard it is to put together something and share it with an audience.

But so does every artist I write about.

So when we watch people with large budgets, people who are able to make a living on crypto already, getting paid to present the work of others and the result is done with the level of care it takes to hang a Missing Cat poster on a telephone pole, it’s infuriating.

Many of the artists I’ve gotten to know over these past three years were creative directors in their web2 lives. Do you know what they could have done with a fraction the amount of money @tezos has in its war chest?

It’s disrespectful.

It always has been.

I’m going to push post on this in a few minutes and the anxiety is rising. I know others are going to criticize what I’m launching in the coming months.

I’m in a glass house throwing rocks.

The difference is I’m not deluded enough to think I have all the answers or have an ego like I’ve done anything yet.

I’m just a guy writing about the things I like while my four-year-old sleeps on me.

This was never about the display.

It was about the devaluation of creatives for years and the continuation of a broken social contract that promised an idealistic future.

So heed the lesson because we’re tired of this shit.

And I’m fucking coming…

Uhhhhhhh what else am I missing - oh yeah I did 3 gamejams this year (Art/Design and a liiiiiitle bit of trying to do the UI in Unity myself instead of giving the pngs to my friends)

my abysmal steam stats told me i only played 5 games this year so I need to get back my gamer license, backlog is like 75% VNs though what's up with that (there's only 4 games but. well)

had a really long blogpost (basically a 'look at all the things you did this year you didnt waste it' thing thus the above lists) but i think i'll just keep it to my notion notes lest this post becomes a traumadumping ground ecks dee tl;dr failed a Very Important (to me) Thing early 2022 that kind of shattered any crumb of self-esteem i had and made me question everything i did onwards (especially in regards to doujin stuff) and then basically physical health issues affecting mental health and vice versa which is fun but fuck it we ball.....(try)

don't really have any solid 'resolutions' (that i would remember to do) other than to 'live' more than just 'survive' as edgy as that sounds 🥴oh wait oc zine yea yea and go into illustration full time h-haha........... should really get around to making a patreon/fanbox but i really hate the idea of paywalling

also signed up for a AK doujin event in Nagoya in March so I now have a very heavy motivation to finish the second half of my LGD doujin and hopefully I get to table at AX too dot dot dot

So... i finally did it

I know i'm boasting about making an account on Tumblr, but you guys have no idea how long it took me to actually make one. I remember making TWO accounts in the past, both of which just refused to let me log back in! So i gave up and only now, i finally managed to make an account.

Don't expect me to be active much, it only exists because reasons (mainly that whole twitter drama, feat Elon Fucks), i may do a lil Art Dump once in awhile, but it'll mostly be quiet.

But i do encourage you to observe and interact, i will respond... probably.

Ok! So I haven't been active on here in I think 3 years. My account was even hacked I'm pretty sure but whatever fuck it we ball right? Though I'd post some fandom stuff here for old-time's sake so why not? I drew my Shepard here at the end of the battle for earth. Unfortunately, she had to leave her wife The Dr. Liara T'soni on the Normandy, big sad. OK in light of twitter exodus but me being back for a good while we are going to review my existence with tumblr and what’s happened since i left…

So I got hacked like… 3 or 4 years ago? Woke up one morning to my email fucked up, friends messaging me my instagram was spamming ads and all my posts had been deleted, and my personal and art tumblr were both deleted and the url was already taken over. SO I HAD A BAD COUPLE OF DAYS. I was apoplectic, stressed, and honestly after a very disappointing conversation with a tumblr service person who confirmed there was no way to get my account back… I was genuinely mourning for an entire archive of my life disappearing. While also freaking about more important info being compromised.

Because yea i had been on tumblr since like 2011/2012! I was organized! I had everything tagged and sorted and while yes… 8 ish years of stuff was getting a bit unwieldy. And by the time i got hacked i was already a tumblr hold out, they had already banned nsfw content and seen wave after wave of exodus and wasn’t planning on leaving anytime soon. Someone just made that choice for me lol.

Which brings me to now being back. I am a bit happy, a bit nostalgic that i could get my old url back but i’m also a little irritated like. cmon dude, you destroyed my whole blog and then didn’t even stick around? i’m disappointed in their lack of conviction. I’ve got a universal brand across all other platforms (give me a search as hannahw.draws on insta, tiktok, or twitter) but fuck it. Tumblr has always been the weird outlier so i’m sticking to my roots.

ANYWAYS. I am back, i’m still mostly the same! I still draw, I still knit, i still have cute stupid cats. Medium new stuff is that i’m still at the same job making comics but getting more responsibilities and fingers crossed i’ll be introducing a series in the next year. Got a very handsome and loving boyfriend who I’m smitten with. Many of the same friends and family who are all happy and healthy. Things are going well! And i hope to be as inspired by tumblr stuff as i was back in the day! i’m already having fun and am right back in it.

And in light of all the people coming here from twitter, or melting down about twitter like. i feel you i see you. to have a chunk of your internet identity ripped away from you is not fun. But alas once i made peace with it it really was like ah. such is life such is existence, in the grand scale of the universe but also the history of the internet. So much of its pages are no longer functional and it’s best to accept the fragility of websites now because this will surely happen again in the future. Back up your saves, back up your drives, and have fun ✨✌🏻

This is a good question

The most straightforward answer is “not being on tumblr”: I started reading the News more regularly once I started restricting my tumblr intake in hopes of spurring myself into productivity, since it scratches either the same or an adjacent itch. But ofc there are alternatives here, like (*shudders*) discourse twitter (I use twitter but only for art, it rules). So you can fairly ask why I opt for news instead

Part of it is that, like the rest of the internet, I have a deepseated urge to Dunk on ppl for their stupid takes, and most alternative sources for dunkmeat feel… cringe, from the outside. So on the one hand there is getting in fights w randos on twitter, but if you have ever witnessed this from an external vantage point you cannot escape the extent to which it is nobodies squabbling over a pile of dirt and convincing themselves it’s the alps. There is smth deeply pathetic about watching someone rail against the mindless twitterati hoard and then their chosen whipping boy is some guy with like 149 followers and 2 likes/post. I also don’t particularly mind being angry? I mean obviously I mind the things I am angry about, but this isn’t to say I mind the anger itself. It’s one of my best motivators! And yea ideally I would not be doing this, ideally I would be getting angry at the most niche and distorted discourse echo chamber of all (academic philosophy journal articles) and processing this in the most arduous and self-reinforcing fashion possible (getting responses published), but barring this degree of enlightenment I’m stuck being an immature asshole getting my kicks from staying abreast of world affairs in my nations most respected journalism outlets. Truly and unironically shameful

AWWWWWW THANK U ANON !!! this was so sweet of you to say🥺. and honestly this theme took a WHILE, especially the planning part , i almost gave up on it

the planning process of exactly what i wanted my theme to look like took ages . im so indecisive bc it’s like i wanna do everything at once and there’s so many good ideas out there 😭😭 i knew i wanted to be bleach and wanted it to be darker in color, but what about bleach was the question. like which character(s) to focus on, what i wanted my layout & the dialogue within it to be centered around are all things you should consider before even looking for pictures/gifs etc

once i decided on something, i mentally planned out what elements i wanted to add, remove, change or rearrange until i had a clear visual

i found the majority of the bleach official art i used from this twitter acct i follow and i found the gif dividers here on tumblr from accts that people post for others to use. i was goin for a edgy, dark ominous but aesthetically pleasing look

once i did that, i started off with changing the color scheme from the default white to a dark theme, and then worked my way around to the font type, size, accent colors, adding pictures and then i saved the navi post for last

i added the pics and gifs i wanted there, made a whole new “byf” post, changed the font color for some words, fixed links etc. and then i added the whole “welcome to my soul society” vibe by using active dialogue that sounds like a fight and represents what each section was for ( i was thinking of how byakuya and aizen would talk when fighting an opponent )

and then yea! that’s the realllllyy simplified version of what i did LMFAOOO . idk if this was even helpful to you but thank you so much for dropping by :)))))

I don't use much social media other than Tumblr, these days. I humor my friends on IG with a barely used IG account. I regret folding to my old classmates (ca 2005) for joining Facebook then. I peeped my head in on Twitter once and then ducked the fuck out. I did love reddit but then Spez showed me it's not a collective to share but an info dump for him to abuse. So that leaves Tumblr and ... maybe lemmy?

The whole IG thing was a mess, btw. I got permanently banned for no fucking reason. I joined and posted six pixtures of kawaii pink things. Nothing that isn't my own art. Nothing that isn't myself. Nothing nsfw. Nothing crude. Banned for posting my six uploads of pink kawaii art.

I told the Cali AG what happened, explaining Meta are welcome to keep me banned but if so, I request my data fully to be deleted. Within the month I got a creepy ass personal email from Meta claiming it was their mistake. Then my account magically was reactivated. I have not posted another thing up there. Nor will I.

I had been checking the IG account out a few times a week to keep up with traveling friends but I think that's probably going to stop because I was trying to follow accounts associated with animal rescues so I can help and then got put into an IG penalty box for doing that. So ... Fuuuuck Meta.

For my 15 year old FB account I have all but stopped posting. My policy for that account is to delete more than I post. I sign in everyday to delete. I delete a majority of what the memory module shows me. Then, I log out.

This pretty much just leaves me Tumblr and I guess that's good enough for social media. I like ... liked.... lemmy but it's kinda too much sharing space with tech bros. That same white trash libertarian energy that initiated reddit is pretty much what is behind lemmy and the fediverse. I don't have total high hopes for it, if I'm being honest. But I guess it's better than Zuck and Musk at this point.

I still apparently have a livejournal account? lol yea. I don't know. Maybe I should just go back to that thing... lol.

Anyway. Just a post about social media and how my relationship is changing with it.

Twitter sucks, yea, but do any of you remember that absolute fucking Arkham Asylum that was old school Deviantart?

Actual, real UNIRONIC things I saw on Deviantart:

(trigger warnings for…. everything I guess. This shit was insane)

- A grown man constantly roleplaying in the forums as a little girl, and EVERYONE in the forums fucking hated him

- People openly defending pedophilia. No, not just in fanart. I mean defending real life actual pedos. One person I saw even openly stating they support their pedo uncle.

-A comment reply that started with “You think incest is wrong? Well, as someone who is currently in an incestious relationship-“ (I had an aneurism and blacked out before reading the rest)

- An 8 year old little kid openly talking about how much they love vore (yes, they gave out their actual age. And yes, I reported their profile)

- Someone I used to follow commenting on my profile, asking me to write creepypasta rape fan fiction for them.

- People just…. straight up uploading explicit cp artwork. Not even putting the mature filter on it. You think Tumblr and Twitter are bad? This shit was being openly showed to minors, by adults, on a daily basis and nobody cared at all.

- Accounts dedicated to some of the worst opinions I have ever read in my life

- A diaper fetish guy, who was married to Twilight Sparkle, throwing a fit on an NSFW artist’s profile, because they drew Twilight Sparkle in an indecent manner.

-The aforementioned diaper fetish guy posting about how he finds the puppies from Paw Patrol attractive

-The same guy, again, uploading an image of bdsm gear that he made for his Twilight Sparkle plush, whoms’t he is married to.

- Someone in a comment section saying that muslims need to have a holocaust happen to them in order to end child marriage. It was so offensive that Deviantart Staff actually removed the comment (staff doesn’t usually do jack shit about anything)

- I once had to talk a 12 yr old child down from posting fetish art, so that creepy adults wouldn’t start following him

-Borderline cp artwork AT THE TOP of the FRONT FUCKING PAGE with NO MATURE FILTERS AT ALL because DA staff is way too lazy to actually enforce the site’s rules against underage lewd art.

-Wonder Bread (if you know you know)

- This is redundant, but, I cannot state enough just how many pedophiles were on that site. The place was just CRAWLING with them.

- Was it just me, or were like half the kids on that site always posting about how suicidal they felt? I think it’s when I first started to realize just how depressed my generation is.

Most people remember DA as just the silly Sonic OC and inflation site. But, I remember something much, much worse 💀

And I still use it, because there’s nowhere else I can post art where people will actually see it
